I would love to have seen it with Buckley, too, though as much as I love her, I think her voice is what really betrays her age.

The last nine or so minutes of Act One of Hello Dolly with Betty Buckley are online here, including all the dialogue.

If anyone, including the 100+ Guests, hasn't seen the Imelda Staunton GYPSY, here's the YouTube parody for free. :)

This Youtube celebrated one of my favorite Ben Brantley London Journal NYTimes reviews,
of Imelda Staunton's scorched-earth Rose in GYPSY:

The homecare nursome and gone. Ireally hate these yearly events since I can't seen that my HMO learns any more than what they could learn from looking at my doctor's records online. Still, the young man was nice, although he wasn't thrilled that Annabelle and stella wanted to be his new BFF.

The good news is that I may get help with housekeeping and errands out of his visit.

That's good news, Larry!

True DR ELMORE.

So round, so firm, so fully packed.....as Dorothy used to say.

I will defer to you as the more experienced and knowledgeable theeder professional.....but I don't think I can change my mind about IMELDA.

I've liked her in some of thew BBC mysteries and in the Downton Abbey movies, but her Sally in Follies hadn't a clue. I don't particularly want to see her Mama Rose or her Dolly Levi.

Saturday night is my high school alumni dinner - which I will attend with a classmate.  There may be three of us from our class.

So tomorrow I HAVE to get my hairs cut.....otherwise I will be presenting the Larry Fine/Albert Einstein look.

Have fun!

I think the poor homecare nurse was terrified of Annabelle and Stella, who played Welcome Wagon and tried to climb all over him with greetings and affection. Thatch wisely hid undewr the bed.

We had a nice dinner with Marc & Rich, the couple we met on the Cairo tour.  They too were bored today and were also looking forward to the day of Rhodes without doing a tour.

I was going to mention the Downton Abbey movies too, as well as her role in The Crown. I've heard some of her musical recordings but I've never seen her on stage.

That worked out well for all four of you that you'd met on the Cairo tour.
