So, we went to the Tahoma National Cemetery and drove around. I wasn't able to get any pictures (I was driving), but it was a very respectful place. Inge found her husband's resting place. At first, she was able to find the right section of wall from memory, but couldn't find the specific place until another woman who was there told us about the "Find Your Loved One" link on the website. Inge got a couple of pictures in front of the plaque to send to her sister-in-law, so she was happy about that. She was very grateful that we were able to bring her.

Shelly has an uncle there, but didn't want to take the time to find him. She may go back at a later date, but on that "Find Your Loved One" link, it also has a picture of each person's memorial placque, so she could at least see that.

After we left the cemetery, we went to the Golden Corral All-You-Can-Eat buffet restaurant.

It's certainly not the highest quality eatin's, but my mom had seen commercials and just wanted to try it since we're were going to be (somewhat) in the neighborhood. And now she can check off that box.

We all did enjoy it enough, but it's not a destination worth going to just for the sake of going there.

I was watching that Rodgers & Hart program that I posted yesterday, and at right about 12 minutes and 5 seconds, Stanley Wayne Mathis sings "Any Old Place With You," a song from 1919, and his (non-singing) dance partner is Alet (Oury) Taylor!

I haven't watched the rest yet, so I don't know if she returns.

Thank you for explaining. It is interesting too. I hope your mother is pleased with the cemetery.

She was, but since we already own actual burial plots here in Tumwater and Kent is so far away, she's having second thoughts about being interred there. We'll see.

Topic of the Day: when we first moved here, there was a strip mall at the entrance of the housing development we lived in. I think ShopRite was the grocery store there and we'd walk there all the time since it was just a few blocks away. It wasn't until after I went to college in Bellingham that they closed.

Thanks to the Amazon food orders, I have a few things here to snack on - cheese, crackers, rice pudding, fruit bars. I only had the half order of orange chicken before. I may try to see if there's a small sandwich I can get, though, which I think would be better than cheese and crackers.
