Ann, this Jew celebrates Christmas and will do so at Bryan’s this year.  Since my Menorah is packed it might be Chanukah I will miss. :(

It is now 51 days to Bryan’s birthday, 53 days to Christmas and the first night of Chanukah.

I will definitely be watching it tonight instead of network TV reruns. I should be finished in plenty of time to watch LAW & ORDER "live."

I do watch Martha's "Apprentice."  There's a guy on the show who is totally manic and I can't wait until he has a complete breakdown (is it wrong of me to want this?? ;)).

Hello!  I'm back from the first round of rehearsals with the cast and orchestra.  Leslie Uggams loved the chart for STORMY WEATHER, so that's a big pat on my shoulder and a big weight off my back.  The cast is quite good, and I think the concert will be wonderful.  Robert Osborne of TCM arrived today as well.  He will be narrating.  Ms Uggams, her husband Graham, Robert and Abby Kimball, Michael Kerker of ASCAP, and Betty Auman of the Library of Congress music division had a tasty lunch with the conductor Aaron Gandy, before they all went back to rehearsal and I came to my favorite Kinko's to check in with you all.

I had another great discovery yesterday:  my hotel is kitty-corner from the parking garage which occupies the space filled in 1903 by Chicago's Grand Opera House, where BABES IN TOYLAND opened on June 17, 1903.  I've been looking for the site for the past two years and I cannot believe I'm staying across from it!

Dear Friend BK, Carolee and Jonathan said hello to me via DRJose because I asked him to convey my good wishes.  I don't recall your asking hyim to do the same.  Besides, I thought you were pissed at Ms Caramello?

Tonight, I help Aaron make some fixes in his orchestration to MY SHINING HOUR; it's got wonderful moments but there are a couple of spots where he's asked for help.

Back tomorrow!

It has also been all over the nes today that bandleader Skitch Henderson died. I guess it dates me to remember him, but I certainly do.

I once scored for full orchestra the Waltzes from ANYONE CAN WHISTLE with Steve's permission.  I took the full score to Skitch when the New York Pops was formed to try to get an arranging job with him.  He took my score on the grounds he needed to get an estimate on copying parts and never returned it despite several requests from me.  I'm not sorry he's dead.

Jose do you have disability insurance on your hands?  If not, you should.

Wow, I was just thinking, next year when I take my niece to a Broadway show I can tell her I got the house seats through my very talented friend, and she can meet him after the show.  She only knows movie folks & directors so this will be my chance to impress her. :D

Skitch Henderson was once married to Faye Emerson.  And it was at their New York apartment that Gig Young married his second wife Sophie Rosenstein.....college drama instructor of Miss Frances Farmer.

DR ELMORE - ask Mr Robert Osborne to tell you all he knows about Allison Hayes....there must be something!

At least he wasn't married to Hope Emerson.

I heard something on the radio this a.m. about Skitch Henderson and how he got his name.

Apparently, he possessed an amazing gift for arranging and could arrange a song in any key you wanted.  Folks who knew him started calling him "Sketch"...and then somebody famous, I forget who, told folks to change his billing to "Skitch"...and the name instantly took hold and the deed was done.

Well I thought it was funny - and it's a connection with the Leslie Uggams post above!

Michael S do you live by a pond or is that flooding in your photos?  How far did you jump with the window blew?

DRLaura, as always-nice photo.

Tomovoz I felt the same way about Frida.

Ron, sorry I was catching up and not there to talk to you.

Oh, poor Vixter, strep throat is bad enough without missing Halloween.  Thank goodness she asked to stay home & you didn’t have to make that decision for her.  Good health vibes so she doesn’t miss the missile launch.

Logistically, I wonder if that's possible...I mean, after you got past the 100th pound, I'm thinking your personal weight will have increased, exponentially.

Unless you follow the classic binge-and-purge scenario.

I must adjourn to the downstairs now and get busy with the daily cleaning chores.

Will be back later this evening with DVD and network TV reports.

But that way I could keep eating them forever! A sure death, but I'd die with a smile on my face.  ;D

I have questions for DR’s George, TCB, Jed and Ann.
How long a drive from Seattle are you?
Did you notice my post stating we will be in Seattle on July 1st? :)
Did I miss a response to said statement?

That may have been Frida People. I have a tendency to confuse people with the same given name.

You're "Row F Rear Mezz Brothers" -- you'll have to annoy the heck out of Seat F5 until he or she agrees to swap with one of you.
