Off to get that den cleaned now and then settling in for DVDs and a new episode of VERONICA MARS.

Veronica on jury duty tonight? That should lead to an interesting mystery investigation.

Not much of a dance, but an early Lucy memory just the same.

I took our own BK for an early B'day lunch at BIRDS as I will not be around on his actual natal day to throw him a surprise partay.  As he said : Laughed & laughed, etc.  Then we frolicked in Counterpoint Records and Books down the street.  He bought a record rarity; I bought some plays..not so rare.

DRMATTH - DREAMGIRLS goes into production in January with Bill Condon directing.  He also did the screenplay.  He did the screenplay for CHICAGO and the screenplay/direction of GODS & MONSTERS and KINSEY.

Another BK Question...and DR CP - I will give this one to you as well.

Which current (or never filmed) stage play or musical would you like to do the screenplay for?

Of course, Kong'll gross what "Titanic" did...it's called inflation!  Plus there are more people in the world now to see it than there were in 1997.  How obvious is that? ;)

Really? I can't imagine seeing Kong once let alone as many times as I paid to see Titanic, and I will never tell how many that really was

Oh, my, the hysteria has begun here.  A snowstorm is predicted to move in to SW Ohio tomorrow afternoon and result in about 5 inches of snow by Friday morning.  Actually, I'd kind of like a snow day Friday, so vibes along those lines would be appreciated!

Oh, you're not even close to the number of times I saw Titanic, let's just say it was the low double digits, and that was before I got the videotape or the dvd.  I wasn't into the love story, I was into the history of the ship and what really happened.   I went to the Titanic Exposition in St Paul, now that was amazing. It was a lot of artifacts that were brought up from the real ship...it was amazing how well preserved everything was. It was something

DR Cillaliz - we went to a Titanic exhibit at the Museum Center at Cincinnati's Union Terminal.  Am I remembering correctly that, when you entered, you got someone's identity and found out at the end whether or not you'd survived?  BTW, I liked the movie, too.

Oh, that's cool. They didn't do that in St Paul.

One of the specials on the new Titanic DVD is commentary by 2 consulting historians. I haven't watched that yet, it may be interesting, think I might just watch that tonight

The weatherman cracked me up tonight..he said, "It's going to be warmer tonight, only 3 below zero"   This sub-zero stuff has really taken a toll on me and everyone else, can't wait until the weekend...it's going to be 30 degrees!!!

Cillaliz, did you see any of the other versions of TITANIC?

You mean earlier movies? Or do you mean the deleted scenes and alternate ending?
Actually it's yes to both, but the reason I liked the most recent version was the historical accuracy. The history was in the background. Obviously the love story is total fiction (well there was a Jack Dawson on board, he's buried in Nova Scotia with a number of the other Titanic fatalities, lol, my parents took a photo of his grave for me on one of their vacations) but it was there and I thought that was cool.

DR CILLA LIZ I the historical commentary on the new DVD set is by Don Lynch and Ken Marschall who did the same thing on the DVD of A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.....I haven't listened to it, but I would assume it is original to the Cameron film.

Jrand: The Most Happy Fella.

Kong is not Titanic - Titanic, whether one liked it or not, operates on a whole different emotional level.  I hear this Kong is endless, trite, and, at times, rather inane.  And it doesn't matter WHAT it grosses (which will most likely be inflated), it has to make a billion dollars or something to break even.  Films like this have simply killed the motion picture industry dead.

Thanks for answering my first question, BK.

Have a great first blocking rehearsal tonight.

Yes, DR GINNY, we have 4-6 inches of snow predicted for us starting at about 11 am tomorrow and lasting through early Friday morning.

It's been a long time since I've seen A NIGHT TO REMEMBER, it would be interesting to see that historical commentary as well. I think I'll rent it and watch. Thanks for the idea

It's a very good commentary and they reference the Cameron film which I think was in production at the time, or at least in preproduction.
