I love A Little Night Music!  I was unpacking some boxes last week and I found my videotape of the New York City Opera's production with Sally Ann Howes.  I really liked it (although, I really do prefer a Desiree that isn't a good singer ;)), and does anyone know if the woman who played Countess Charlotte was Bernadette's understudy for Gypsy and got great reviews, herself??

I have that tape, too, taped off PBS. I don't even remember who played the part. I remember Michael McGuire as Malcolm, Sally Ann, and was it George Lee Andrews as Frederick?

Thanks. I'm sure I'll mention it again when the time gets closer.

I did find out that the theater that's doing SEUSSICAL is planning on OLIVER! for next season which I would be interested in auditioning for.

Bride and Prejudice should be here tomorrow.  I'm inching my way into Bollywood.

I am so proud of you Cillaliz! LOL! BRIDE AND PREJUDICE is nothing but a colorful, fun piece of fluff...but I enjoyed it, as did several other HHW DRs.

I want a full report after your viewing!

Yes, it was George Lee Andrews (the original Frid on Broadway) as Frederick.

Speaking of football, I'm anxiously watching the Penn State/Florida game.  Isn't it funny how the borders of our support territory expands as our home teams lose?  Happy Valley is about 200 miles away from me and here I am rooting for them to win because of their "proximity" to Philadelphia.

The only connection I really have with Penn State is a very bizarre trip there when I was in high school.  Our school concert choir was chosen to participate in a competition that took place on the Penn State campus.  We had to be at our school at 4:00 am to get on the bus that would take us there.  The bus trip was four hours, with just one pit stop.  When we arrived, there was some sort of hubbub in the parking lot, with police cars and cops all over the place.  Our esteemed principal, who tagged along for the trip, went to investigate.  He returned to inform us that there were multiple bomb threats at the school and was told that all events were cancelled and we had to leave immediately.  So, another four hour trip back home(which seemed a lot longer that the first trip).

Well, we found out the next day that our idiot of a principal misunderstood and that the competition was merely delayed--not cancelled.  He was actually told that we had to move our bus to another campus parking lot and not leave all together.  Our idiot principal made it up to us by giving us a pizza party.  Yeah--that made us very happy.

DR George - Yes, that's the same Maureen Moore who understudied Bernadette Peters in the Gypsy.  -She's also been Bernadette's stand-by for other shows including back to Song And Dance.  I was fortunate to see her in Sunset Blvd. - she was Elaine Paige's stand-by, and she was amazing as always.  A truly great actress.

Yes, it was George Lee Andrews (the original Frid on Broadway) as Frederick.

And speaking of George Lee Andrews, there was a nice article in the Monday's Washington Post about him and his "employment" in the soon to be record-breaking run of Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.  *Mary Leigh Stahl and Richard Warren Pugh have also been with the show since the beginning of it's Broadway run.

Some very good news:  they've just reported that the other twelve miners in W. Virgina are alive!

vixmom, bk was at rehearsal and is now back home.  Must take a break, then write tomorrow's notes, which will probably be up a bit late.
