Well, dear readers, some people are still crazy after all these years, but I, BK, am still coughing after all these years. It’s quite annoying to do, and I have to imagine quite annoying to listen to. Otherwise, I am feeling much better. Actually, now that I think about it, I’m also still crazy after all these years. Oh, and remember the ten pound challenge? I do believe I’m the first person to achieve the ten-pound loss. I’m feeling ever so much better, too, and my pants are fitting better. Now, who will win the next ten-pound challenge? I’m on my quest to lose ten more and to lose them as quickly as possible. After that, I will lose ten more at my leisure and then I will be down to my usual weight – I haven’t been at my usual weight in about five years. Then a whole world of pants will open up to me – pants I couldn’t even begin to get into in the last year. Of course, they’ll be completely out of style, but what the heck. Anyway, I’m quite proud of myself for losing the first ten. Speaking of the first ten, yesterday was a completely frustrating day until about three-thirty in the afternoon, at which point I got down to brass tacks and began working. I sometimes get down to aluminum tacks, but yesterday I got down to brass tacks and I wrote seven count them seven pages of talking. The frustration level was high prior to that and it all had to do with my old Dell laptop, which has been on the fritz for a week. That is because a Windows update performed automatically was corrupt and it caused that computer not to be able to open IE or any Word programs. Unfortunately, instead of calling Microsoft first, I went to Dell online support and got a total idiot on the phone, and thanks to his “solutions” my Dell hard drive is now completely dead. The Microsoft person, who was great, tried everything to resuscitate the hard drive, but it was killed beyond repair. A total shame, as that computer had every e-mail I’d ever received on AOL up until the time I got my Mac. That computer junk took four hours total and just blew most of the day and my energy. I now have to decide whether to get a new hard drive or just toss the thing. I’m leaning towards the latter because who wants to deal with a PC anymore – I’d have to get virus protection and firewalls and it’s just a pain in the butt cheeks, frankly. The best part of all that was that I didn’t get to eat until quite late in the day, and I wasn’t that hungry, so I ended up having less than 1000 calories for the day, so I should lose a pound or so in the next day or two. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?
Last night, I watched one-half a motion picture on DVD entitled Robin Hood: Men In Tights. I really do believe that Mr. Mel Brooks lost his ability to be truly hilarious after Young Frankenstein. His films get less and less funny and more and more labored as the years go by, and Robin Hood: Men In Tights is so amazingly unfunny (except for one rap parody at the beginning of the film – that was classic Mel) that you just sit there with your mouth on the floor at the terribleness of it all. I finally had to shut it off. The best thing about the film is the rather excellent score by Hummie Mann.
Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’ve got things to do, places to go, and people to see, not necessarily in that order.
Have I mentioned that I’m still coughing after all these years? Today I must begin rehearsing the staged reading of the new musical. I’m going to try to get through as much of the opening sequence as I can, but we only have an hour so we’ll see how much we can actually do. In about a week, I’ll be given a second hour and that will be very helpful. I also hope to be able to make a deal with a musical director soon. Until then, we’ll work with the recording we made last week. The class also has an assignment due a week from Thursday – their audition song. After the class, I must package up about ten orders and get them shipped in the afternoon. I must also go to Mr. Grant Geissman’s to pick up the spiffy theme he’s written for the video version of Deceit. It’s quite creepy and moody. Then we may begin our sound mix tonight – not quite sure yet. I also have to do a few other things in the afternoon, plus I must try to write at least three pages (which will put me over seventy pages). In other words, darling kiss me. What am I, Fly Me To The Moon all of a sudden. In other words, it will be a busy little day.
At some point this week, we shall achieve our new and quite exciting plateau – and when we do we shall have a celebration like we’ve never had . I shall open the chat room and we shall partay until dawn.
Hold on – I do believe we’d all better put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, I do believe we’d all better break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, I do believe we’d all better dance the Hora and the Monkey, for today is the birthday of occasional dear reader Joey. So, let us give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to occasional dear reader Joey. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OCCASIONAL DEAR READER JOEY!!!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, have a very busy day and probably evening as well, doing a little this’a and a little that’a, with an emphasis on the latter. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite songs of Paul Simon (solo or with Garfunkel), what are your favorite songs of Elton John, and what are your favorite songs of Carly Simon? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I sing my favorite Paul Simon song, Still Coughing After All These Years.
