Well, dear readers, it was another day of non-stop show business – in other words, the business of getting a show together. And I didn’t even get to the show order or commentary. The good news is that I got nine hours of sleep and didn’t arise until noon o’clock. So, the day wasn’t actually that long. But I never stopped until six o’clock, even working while I ate, and whistling while I worked, which is difficult when you have food in your mouth. First, I got the flyer and then found that tickets were live on the club website. So, then I announced the show on Facebook, Instagram, and did my personal eBlast. Then I got a call from our very own Kerry O’Malley. We were sad she was going to be out of town for the show, but she got jury duty and cancelled her trip, making her available. Even though the show was fully cast, I had two songs that didn’t have singers – and – best news of all, Kerry has done them both a zillion times, so Doug redid the flyer, and I swapped it out wherever I posted it. After that, I had a ton of e-mails to respond to and deal with, lots of texts, making sure that Friday’s work session had a start time, trying to figure out the rehearsal says, which has to happen VERY soon, and before I knew it, it was six o’clock. I stopped whistling, since I wasn’t working, and then I had some telephonic conversations, then sat on my couch like so much fish. I watched the starts of several movies, just to see what the transfers were like, and then because I had the new Godzilla movie for another twenty-four hours, I decided to watch it again. It was still excellent. Then I grabbed the soundtrack from the Tube of You, but while it works very well in the film, it’s not really a good listening experience, so I’ll nuke it pretty quickly. Once IS enough for somethings. For example, one was enough for the movie Once Is Not Enough. But I digress. Then I caught up on some Internet stuff and that was pretty much the day and evening. Here’s the flyer for Kritzerland 127.
Isn’t that a lovelier than lovely flyer? I really want a completely full house for this show. I forgot to mention that I had Panda Express for food – just the two item instead of the three item that I usually get. Of course, I got the orange chicken along with the string bean chicken, then a little chow mein and white rice, although I only had a tiny bit of the rice. I was hungry in the evening, so I got a little Caesar salad for some greens.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll make a show order and write commentary, which will probably take most of the day, I may go out to get something, food-wise, or maybe I’ll just bring in again, and then I will absolutely watch, listen, and relax in the evening hours.
Tomorrow, we have a one to two-hour work session, and we’ll get everything sorted out. After that, I may go have a nice meal somewhere, just to unwind because don’t forget, an unwound clock is right twice a day. Wait, that doesn’t sound right. Something about a clock is right twice a day and an unwound clock can’t be right OR wrong, since it’s unwound. What the HELL am I talking about. I will have two ME days on the weekend, and then we begin our Kritzerland rehearsal week, which takes us right up to the show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, make a show order, write commentary, eat, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: We tend to do this one once a year, so why not – what are your all-time favorite Richard M. Sherman songs? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall, I’m quite sure, whistle while I dream, which is no mean feat or even no mean feet.
