Well, dear readers, it was another good night’s sleep of ten hours, even though the noisy builders were especially noisy – the pouring of the concrete. I’d like to pour some damn concrete over those who buy cute neighborhood homes and tear them down to make a monstrosity – no care for the neighborhood, just to make dollars. Otherwise, I’m listening to more Alec Wilder music, which is very enjoyable, a lot more enjoyable than the noisy builders and their damn pouring of the damn concrete. I did watch a motion picture last night, the delightfully wacky Preston Sturges movie, The Lady Eve, starring Henry Fonda and Barbara Stanwyck, plus a ton of great comic character actors. Stanwyck is at her best and that’s as good as it gets, and Fonda is hilarious as her mark. If you’ve never seen it, you really should. Otherwise, I was up at eleven-thirty, I answered a lot of e-mails, then went to the mail place and picked up a package, then decided to have two chicken breasts from Popeye’s. I came home and ate the breasts, and they were very good. After that, I worked at the piano, had a minor modern major miracle, which was great news, found out that the special edition of The Faculty Blu-ray will be out on December 17 and will include 4K and Blu. David and I are interviewed in the supplements, had a long telephonic call with Doug Haverty, who is waiting to see how the hurricane will affect them – they’ve certainly battened down the hatches – and then I watched the movie. Now I am listening to Alex North’s great score to Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf – unique and beautiful. I didn’t eat anything beyond the chicken, so that was good. What else can I report? Heat has NOT abated as promised – what else is new? I’ve just about had it with political texts and e-mails – fifty or sixty a day now. I did get my voting thing so perhaps today I’ll study that, vote, and take it to a voting box in Studio City. Oh, of course I watched some irritating YouTube videos, but I think I’m coming to the end of THAT particular rabbit hole. Looked at one set designer’s work, but not sure they’re for this project. I’ll still write her, though. I really wish Tesshi, the designer for L.A. Now and Then, Li’l Abner, A Carol Christmas, and Levi could do it, but alas, he cannot. Well, we’ll keep looking. I suppose that’s it and here we are.
Today, I’ll be up after hopefully another good night’s beauty sleep and I’ll hope the damn noisy builders will dial it down, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll work at the piano, I’ll get some set designer suggestions from other folks in LA theater, I’ll eat something amusing, and then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
The rest of the week is more of that plus seeing a play, doing errands and whatnot, hoping for a few more modern major miracles, and trying to eat reasonable meals, reasonably. I’ll do whatever needs doing and I’ll check out deals on Prime Days.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up after hopefully another good night’s beauty sleep, I’ll do whatever needs doing, work at the piano, get set designer suggestions from friends in LA theater, eat, and then at some point watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping that the pouring of the concrete is coming to an end.
