I SPY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I have had very little sleep (three hours) save for some dozing off, and now it’s late so therefore I shall write these notes in a hurry, do not worry, you will see a flurry of notes in no time flat – or sharp for that or any other matter. So, I did watch a motion picture last night, entitled Black Bag, a spy thriller whose look, feel, and dialogue feels like a 1960s John le Carre story. I want to watch it one more time before weighing in on it, but I did enjoy it, despite its endless chatter. It’s very well directed by Steven Soderbergh, the score by David Holmes is very retro in feel, and the actors are all very good – the two leads are Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, and there’s a guest appearance by Pierce Brosnan. Anyway, I’ll watch it again today then have more to say. Prior to that, I got three hours of sleep, got up, got ready, answered a few e-mails, then met Robert Yacko for breakfast. I had very good eggs Benedict. After that, I went to Gelson’s and got some of their guacamole, some shredded cheese, some tortilla chips, and some salad. I came home and hadn’t realized I was out of Wesson oil. I did have some olive oil, so I made it with that, but it smelled weird. Much later, when I put it on the salad it was so gross, I just tossed it in the trash, a waste of almost ten bucks. I shouldn’t have dressed it after realizing how bad it smelled – I have red wine vinegar here and that would have saved the salad. Instead, I made some sort of nachos – chips covered in shredded cheese then put in the oven for five minutes. Then I ate them with some guacamole and sour cream. Pretty good. I didn’t eat a lot of them. After the movie, I was hungry, so I heated up two small tortillas with cheese and guacamole – pretty okay. I did listen to more videos and I think I only need one more person and we’ll be cast and can get a flyer done. Otherwise, I just tried to relax until I viewed the movie.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll start choosing songs as soon as I’ve set the final person, I’ll eat something (I’m craving carbonara and may just go to Barone’s and either have it there or bring it home or I could try a new jernt and hope for the best, I’ll have some telephonic conversations, and then at some point I’ll re-watch Black Bag and then something else.

Tomorrow and Friday, I’ll be hoping that social security gets here a little early – hard to tell, but it would be VERY helpful, and then I need a modern major miracle pronto (otnorp, spelled backwards), then I’m not at all sure what’s happening on the weekend.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, choose songs, set the final young person, eat something, have telephonic conversations, re-watch Black Bag and another movie. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have seen a decent little spy movie that doesn’t feel all tricked up and “now”.
