Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry for she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and I have to shave and shower before bedtime as there will be not time for such activities in the morning. Well, that was a rousing start to these here notes, wasn’t it? It made me in the mood for a parade, it was so rousing. I wanted to twirl a damn baton it was so rousing. Of course, I don’t actually have a baton, but I could twirl a pencil, I suppose. I want to play a double bell euphonium, it was so rousing. Frankly, I’m exhausted from all the rousing. Did you know that baton is notab spelled backwards? Did you know that euphonium is muinohpue spelled backwards? How many here actually know what a double bell euphonium is? How about a single bell euphonium or a no bell euphonium. Can a no bell euphonium win a No Bell Peace Prize? We don’t allow groaning here at haineshisway.com. I had no idea what the HELL I’m talking about. So, continuing in that vein, yesterday began with me arising from nine hours of good sleep. I answered e-mails and then began futzing and finessing, which I didn’t quite finish before the work session for the Kritzerland show at two. That took an hour and then I had a modern major miracle occur and that was very good news indeed. I ordered food, finished futzing and finessing and wrote five new pages. Food arrived from the House of Pies – I ordered a bowl of chili, cheese, and onions, which came with a side salad with ranch, and a piece of cornbread. I’d never tried the chili there. My favorite chili was always Jerry’s Deli – no bean, great flavor, and I had it plain and also on hot dogs and omelets and it was always great. Since then, I have not been able to find a single jernt that has chili without the damn beans. Well, hold your hats and hallelujah, BK’s gonna bring it to ya – House of Pies has chili just like Jerry’s. The very same. And it was great, and I ate every bite. They forgot the onions, but I had one here and diced a few and tossed it in. They’re cornbread is really tasty, and their little salad with ranch is also good. I don’t know when it was added to DoorDash, but it must have been recently. Then it was back to writing and I eventually wrote six more pages without taking a break. It’s slow going because I have to write, research, write, research – if there’s no research, I can write six pages in an hour if I’m on a roll. These six pages took four hours and then I just had to stop for the evening. I began making a show order and am a third of the way through and will finish that either tonight before bed or when I get up in the morning. So, I took a little so much fish time and watched some YouTube videos. And now, here I am writing some damn rousing notes.
Today, I’ll be up at eight and out the door by eight-thirty and I’ll meet Robert Yacko for a breakfast. From there, I have a little meeting with one of the cast members from 70, Girls, 70 at eleven near the home environment. I don’t think that will take too long and I hope to be home no later that noon o’clock. Once home, I’ll futz and finesse and then try to write at least eleven pages, but I’m hoping for more, now that I’m really in the swing of things. Again I have no idea how many manuscript pages this will be, but I think after today I’ll be two-thirds of the way through. At some point, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I have the blood draw in Beverly Hills at one-thirty, so I have to be there at 1:10 which means I’ll leave here at 12:30. Otherwise, it’s just writing, both book and commentary, although the commentary is a lot of cut and paste, as we’ve done almost all the songs in other Kritzerland shows. Thursday is our first Kritzerland rehearsal, which starts at eleven and goes to three-thirty. Friday I’m on my own, Saturday is our second rehearsal, Sunday is mine all mine, Monday is our stumble-through, and Tuesday is sound check and show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up at eight and out the door by eight-thirty, breakfast, have a meeting, futz and finesse, write, finish the show order, write, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: If you play an instrument, what have you played? If you haven’t, what instrument would you most like to play? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have written these very rousing notes.
