Well, dear readers, it is late and therefore I must write these here notes in a hurry, so here are both the highlights and lowlights of a day I like to call yester. I’ll get the lowlight out of the way – I didn’t feel quite as chipper as the day before – voice was not as strong and a lot of gunk, which I suspect is the Mucinex-D breaking up whatever’s left. I don’t feel sick or anything, but I just want the irritating stuff to go completely away. The other lowlight is that I didn’t fall asleep until five in the morning, but thankfully once asleep I slept until one. The files for the book I sent had no response, which means that the guy it went to must have been off. But my gal also got the e-mail to download and for whatever reason, she couldn’t. Something in their system can’t handle We Transfer. So, she sent me a link to upload the eight files to their own thing, so I did that, but I think she left before it got to her. Hopefully, come Monday morning they’ll have it all and will do their thing quickly. I used to get the galley and covers in two or three days, but the last few books have taken a week or two – one took even longer. I told them I don’t want to dance this dance on this book, so hopefully they can do their thing in a timely fashion. As to the highlights, well, I’m not sure there were any REAL highlights. I had a Caesar salad for food from The Cheesecake Factory. I only know that when I used to go there pretty regularly and would order the Caesar it was HUGE, but they have really shrunk their portions these days whilst upping their prices every two months, it seems. It was good but not a full meal by any stretch of the imagination and I have a pretty stretched imagination along with a stretched stomach. After I ate, I did a few things on the computer, watched some irritating videos on the Tube of You. Then in the early evening I was already hungry again, so I got two appetizer-sized crab cakes from Marmalade. They were pretty tiny but tasty and their tartar sauce wasn’t bad at all. Unfortunately, that sort of thing doesn’t travel that well, so they’re a bit soggy, whereas if you had them there they wouldn’t be and would have a crisp top. I don’t really know why that is, because when I order fried catfish from Uncle Andre’s it comes still hot and very crispy on the batter. Go know.
After that, I happened to search ABC Movie of the Week on YouTube, just to see if there were any others I’d like to revisit, after seeing Daughter of the Mind. Well, there’s now a playlist – it’s the second thing you see if you search ABC Movie of the Week – it’s a playlist and there are a whopping 123 movies that aired on that wonderful program. I saved about 40 of them to watch, and so I sat and watched the main titles of about thirty, just to see who was in them, who wrote them, who directed them, and who did the music. That’s why I was late getting to these here notes. I’m really looking forward to watching these – there are some classics, but there’s also quite a few missing in action. Quality varies from movie to movie. Most of the movies have really good music.
Today, I’ll be up by eleven at the latest and I’m praying I can fall asleep quickly so I get my eight hours, which I need. If I were still doing Ny-Quil it would be no problem. I am taking Melatonin but it certainly didn’t work last night. Anyway, once up I’ll answer e-mails and then relax until it’s time for our two-thirty rehearsal, which I’m looking forward to. After that, I’ll get something to eat and then I’ll eat whatever it is I get, and then I’ll rest my voice, hunker down and watch one or two ABC Movie of the Week things.
Tomorrow and Monday are days of rest for me – I never got to the mail place, so I’ll actually do that on Sunday. Tuesday is our stumble-through at three, then Wednesday is sound check and show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, have a rehearsal, eat, and watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What TV movies do you have very fond memories of and that you’d love to see again? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, having told you of both highlights and lowlights.
