Well, dear readers, I am back from a dinner and long night at the theater – the opening night of My Spirits Soar, a musical version of The Canterville Ghost, written by Doug Haverty and Adryan Russ. But let’s rewind and go to the top of the day. I got about five or six hours of sleep and was up at ten. Sadly, I could have slept in and would have – but the Darling Daughter and friend were coming at ten-thirty. Only that didn’t happen because they DID sleep in and wouldn’t have gotten here until maybe one-thirty. So, we decided they’d come today instead. So, overtired though I was, I didn’t go back to bed, but answered e-mails, didn’t get to the mail place, had some biscotti and took pill one and the other pills, shaved and showered, then dozed off for about two hours. Then Barry Pearl arrived (wife Cindy was under the weather), and off we went to the Coral Café to sup. I had a cup of their excellent clam chowder and a chicken salad sandwich with bacon and fries. Very good. Barry had a chicken salad sandwich melt, whatever that is, and fries. We gabbed, we caught up, and then we finally moseyed on over to the theater. We knew lots and lots of folks there, of course. Kay Cole, Barbara Minkus, several Group Rep members, Adryan and Doug, and of course, I knew several in the cast, including two Drat alums, Savanah Mortenson and Rob Schaumann, and my old pal Kevin Spirtas, who stepped in on two weeks’ notice to play the ghost. Anyway, a little long for my taste at two and a half hours (plus a fifteen intermission) but everyone seemed to enjoy it. They had their usual partay after, and that was fun, too, and I got to chat with several nice folks. After that, Barry drove me home and here we are. I had a grape fruit bar, took pill three, and will have an English muffin shortly. Nothing more to tell really, not even a single telephonic call.
Today, I’ll actually be up early, and I’ll try to be at CVS by eight to pick up prescription refills. After that, I’ll probably head directly to the mail place and see what’s what, then come home. Then the Darling Daughter and friend will come, and they’ll go straight to the storage place and do their thing. I’m gonna relax mostly, catch up on a few dangling participles, eat something endearing, and then the Darling Daughter and friend will come back, return the key card and locker key and be on their way. After they’re gone, I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is a total ME day, and I don’t care who knows it. This coming week is very busy – have to get sides chosen for the auditions, I’m waiting to hear on several important items, I’m supposed to go have an eye thing for new glasses but I may push that a week – we shall see – and of course, we’re into a new month, and I’ll also have a couple of meetings and meals to do, too.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up early, pick up prescription refills, go to the mail place, relax, catch up on a few things, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite chicken dishes and chicken sandwiches. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, after which I shall pick up my prescription refills.
