Well, dear readers, yesterday was not only a damn day it was a double damn day with a cherry on top. Beyond frustrating, it finally ended successfully eight minutes before I had to leave for auditions. This all had to do with the delivery of my prescription refills. First of all, they refused to do three of the four refills, stating it had something to do with insurance. Dr. Ho, my neurologist, had already told me that was BS and said if they gave me issues to call him and he would let them know what’s what. Certainly, I knew it had zero to do with insurance. So, I set up delivery for the one item. I’d messaged them to call Dr. Ho. They called me instead and said anytime the get multiple refills it messes with their machines, but I was good to go to get all refills, and he assured me it could all be delivered and he’d set that up. When I got the notice, it said the Prednisone was for 10 mgs. That was a mistake that we cancelled and corrected over a month ago. So, they cancelled the delivery and redid the entire order. Then I called again, and they said the delivery guy was there and I should have it shortly. An hour later, I called and was told the delivery person had the cancelled order in the app and therefore couldn’t take the new one. Wrong. All he had to do was enter the new order by hand. So, still nothing happening. At this point, I was getting really and truly angry and the first guy made the mistake of getting snippy with me, and I’d had it, so I yelled at him because I was not in the mood for snark. He hung up. I called back and said I was sorry for yelling but that I wanted to talk to one of the gals I’d talked to – anyone but him. He put me on hold for ten minutes. I hung up, called back, and was on hold for another ten minutes. I then messaged them and that finally got a call back. The gal said the new delivery person was almost there and, in fact, she arrived while still on the phone with me. She asked the delivery gal to come to me first, since I was only a mile away. Ninety minutes later and still nothing. She finally arrived about fifteen minutes before I was having to leave. I called her on not coming to me first, but she was very nice and said the GPS determines the routes for delivery and she had a lot of them and that they could not change the route once it was set. She did apologize and commiserated about how frustrating my afternoon must have been, so I appreciated that. I immediately took pill one of three. Prior to that malarkey, I’d gotten seven and a half hours of sleep, had a telephonic meeting, had pappardelle with meat sauce for food – very good and not too large a portion – and then the BS with the delivery happened and took the entire afternoon.
I then moseyed on over to the theater, auditioned a few people, saw a good potential leading lady – checking up on her a bit, as she studied with a couple of people I know very well, but Doug and I both liked her, she only has two inconsequential conflicts, and she had a good quality. And I think we found two boys, if they both accept the gig. Then we’ll be fully cast, and I can send everyone the plunks and orchestra tracks. After that, I stopped at Gelson’s, got some creamy tomato soup, California roll, and a bit of seafood salad for snack. I came home and ate that and took pill two. Won’t be able to take pill three for another couple of hours. And now I’m listening to Jancek’s Glagolitic Mass – I’m a fan of Janacek’s music, especially his operas, and this Mass is of high quality. And here we are.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, I have a ten-thirty Zoom with our set designer to finalize everything, then I’ll see what’s what with the mail place, once again the helper can’t find yet another CD I know we have at least 200 of – this really has to stop – but I know I have a couple here, but I can’t keep taking these off sale only to her finally find 100s of the product. I’ll eat something fun, take all pills, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow and the weekend will be getting our cast music, plunks, and tracks so they can at least get familiar with everything, hopefully picking up two important envelopes, and then I just really need to rest up for the start of rehearsals. Still need to make a schedule so I know what I have to stage and when.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, have a Zoom, check in with the mail place, eat, take pills, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite sauces for meat, potatoes, fish, chicken, and veggies? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping for no more double damn days.
