EASY LISTENING

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry, for she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon and I will have to breakfast and do some errands and whatnot until I can return. Now playing, pianist Ronnie Aldrich from the UK doing the songs of Jimmy Webb – great music – Ronnie plays two pianos – one left, one right. Easy listening is easy listening, and I’ve been a fan since I was a young boy. Others may deride, but that’s their problem not mine. So, due to dozing off several times last evening, I didn’t watch anything. I do have some new movies I can watch – I just have to write down all the damn codes for those apps so I can enter them on Firestick. That will now have to wait until Friday and the weekend. Otherwise, yesterday wasn’t much. I had a restless night but eventually got around seven hours of sleep. Once up, I answered e-mails, did some organizing, did my one errand for the day, came home, had a craving for mac and cheese and ended up with my lunch portion of farfalle with roasted garlic chicken – not a very good batch, I’m afraid – just depends which chef you get at the Cheesecake Factory, I suppose. I had a few telephonic conversations throughout the day. Took pills, of course, but forgot all about that it was eight pill day for my once-a-week dose. So, just took those. Whew! What else? Not much. Snacks were small. Had to revise our rehearsal schedule, but it didn’t impact WHEN people were coming, just what we’re doing. Then came the dozing. It’s always on YouTube and one never knows what one is going to wake up to – one of the wakeups found me in the original Dragnet land. Policing sure has changed. That’s about it and here we are.

Today, I’ll be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty. I’ll be joining Robert Yacko for breakfast, then I’ll do a couple of quick errands, then come home. I’ll prep for the evening rehearsal, since I’m not doing what I thought I was doing, then I’ll relax for a bit, stop at the mail place to ship out a package and see what’s there, then rehearsal from seven to ten, after which I’ll come right home.

Tomorrow is more of the same, and that goes for Wednesday and Thursday, then we’re off on Friday, work Saturday morning, then off until the following Tuesday, unless we can somehow grab my two actors from the show they’re in (they’re supposed to be off on Monday) – that would be helpful and I could basically block all the scenes left to block.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty, have breakfast, do errands and whatnot, come home, prep, go to the mail place and ship a package, then rehearse, then come home. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite songs of Mr. Jimmy Webb? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where easy listening will hopefully have lulled me to sleep.
