Well, dear readers, the play is now blocked with the exception of the last half of one musical number that Cheryl Baxter is doing. We got the long opening scene of act two done – that was all that was left, but it was eighteen pages long. I kept it super simple and will probably futz with it when I run it when we return. We also taught the duet to our missing actor, so he’s got that now – he’s very quick picking things up, too. Otherwise, I got eight hours of sleep, got up, answered a LOT of e-mails, had Maria’s Kitchen for food – pappardelle with two small meat balls – it arrived quickly and was of the usual Maria’s high quality. Then I had to make some notes for the rehearsal. But the best news of the day was that the thing that arrived but didn’t arrive and didn’t look like it was going to arrive did, in fact, arrive. So, one less thing to worry about. Then I shaved and showered, dozed off for about twenty minutes, then moseyed on over to the mail place and picked up a returned package, then we had our rehearsal. Our leading lady is sick – so, she was masked, which was good. Now everyone has a solid week to take care of themselves and learn their lines. And now, I’m listening to the lovely music of Frederick Delius. Very tuneful. You may be wondering why I’m keeping this brief – yes, she of the Evil Eye comes in the morning so I want to get to bed as soon as I can. Hence, notes with brevity, which is, of course, both the soul and sole of wit, although I see precious little wit in this paragraph.
Today, I’ll be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty, I’ll have some sort of breakfast some sort of somewhere, do some quick errands and whatnot, then come home and begin my week off. I still have to get singers their music, but that is IT. And IT is that, not necessarily in that or this order. I’ll do some organizing and perhaps list a few eBay items, but mostly I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is more of that, Thursday I do the drive to the Wechters for Thanksgiving dinner, which I’m hoping is early, and then Friday through Monday are all ME days. I will do only ME things and things ME.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty, breakfast, do errands and whatnot, come home, get singers music, list a few items, do some organizing, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that the play is now fully blocked.
