ALL I WANT IS A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP AND OTHER MUSINGS

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am really at the point where if I don’t get a few nights of really good sleep I’m going to get sick. A solid week of five hours a night or less has taken its toll, and while I did get almost eight hours last night it was sporadic. I need straight-through. But enough whining about sleep. Let’s talk about something fun and fancy free, shall we? Let’s talk about the fact that I’m overtired – oh, wait – that’s not fun and fancy free, is it? I did watch more of Donkey Skin – what a totally peculiar film it is – I can’t say it’s great, but it sure is pretty to look at. But I kept dozing off, so much so, that I finally got off the couch like so much fish and plopped down on the damn bed for about ninety minutes. I gotta tell you. I did finish episode four. That one took me a long time to get right – I overwrote it, it wasn’t smooth enough for my taste, and I didn’t like ending it the way I did. But, after the ninety minutes on the bed, I futzed and finessed like crazy, rewrote a few things, came up with a really fun tag, which fixed the ending, and I just made everything more succinct and sharper. So, that one’s done and now it’s on to episode five. But I also wrote two sets of liner notes, so I’m all caught up on that. A busy little night this was.

Yesterday was all right. I was up after two hours of sleep for a couple of hours, then went back to sleep and got up at noon. I answered e-mails, had telephonic conversations, then ordered food from Stanley’s – a chicken Caesar – that got here about thirty minutes later and I ate it all up – very good. No bread. I had the final three small See’s candies that were left and those were good, too. Then I tried to watch Donkey Skin, took my ninety-minute nap, and then began writing, which took the rest of the evening. I now feel completely lethargic, my stomach doesn’t seem happy, and that’s all she wrote. I’ll try to be in bed by one-thirty at the latest.

Today, I’ll be up by eleven-thirty at the latest, then at noon-thirty I’m finally getting a hugely needed haircut, I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, I’ll eat something reasonable and fun, I’ll begin writing episode five and when that’s done I’m halfway through the scripts, I’ll hopefully get stuff to proof so it can go off to the printers, and then at some point I can watch, listen, and relax.

The rest of the week is more of the same, shipping out a LOT of CDs and stuff, starting to organize some of the easier Indiegogo stuff, hope our Indiegogo funds arrive sooner than later, and do whatever needs doing. Don’t know what the weekend holds yet.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven-thirty, have a hugely needed haircut, hopefully pick up packages, eat, write, hopefully proof, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: How much vinyl do you still have and why? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping to get a really good night’s sleep – wouldn’t that be loverly?
