Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, after a somewhat frustrating yesterday during which things were somewhat frustrating in a somewhat frustrating way. I only got about five or six hours of sleep, got up, saw that the Internet was still down and so I called Spectrum and was told the Internet had only been down for an hour – that explains why my phone had it but did not explain why the computer did not. So, it sent a reset thing to my modem and router, it reset, and I was back on. But it’s supposed to get back on automatically. So, that was somewhat frustrating. I answered e-mails, had some biscotti and pill one, then I wanted to go back to bed only the creeps across the street had yet more noisy machinery grinding away. I finally went back to bed at around eleven and woke up forty-five minutes later. I ordered two burgers (smallish) from a legendary jernt in West Hollywood, a stand called Irv’s Burgers. They arrived about forty minutes later, still warm and they were pretty good. Then I went back to the manuscript and inched my way forward, eventually getting to page 215, so another 100 pages should do it. There are a few adventures in this book where names are named that may shock some readers. The barstools were supposed to be delivered by three-twenty but didn’t arrive until four-twenty. The box is VERY heavy, and I could barely get it in the house. I also rebooked the assembly people for tomorrow. Then came an e-mail that was super-duper frustrating, and we’ll see how that plays out – it involves David Wechter and I and that’s all I can say – at this time. Then I dozed off for about an hour, watched some super-duper irritating YouTube videos, ordered my evening food – one taco and some guacamole and chips – all very good. I found a documentary from last year that looked interesting, about the Howard Hughes fiasco known as The Conqueror, starring John Wayne, one of the most derided movies in the history of movies, but sadly famous for something else, which is what I suspect the documentary is about. I got five minutes in, but then I had a telephonic call and then it was time to write these here notes.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, I hope I’m able to do the banking I need to do, I’ll mosey on over to the mail place and see what’s what, and then I may drive to the Bank of Bur to this new deli there that’s supposed to be really good – if I do, I’ll get some stuff to go. I’ll come home and eat whatever I get there or wherever I get stuff from, I’ll try to finish fixing manuscript formatting, and then I’ll go through and try to catch typos and style stuff. Then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, the barstool assembly people come and assemble the two new barstools, and I hope they’re as comfy as they look. Not really sure what else is going on the rest of the week or the weekend.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, hopefully be able to do the banking I need to do, go to the mail place and see what’s what, maybe go to this new deli and get a sandwich to bring back with me, hopefully finish the manuscript clean-up, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like, and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, as I hit the road to dreamland, where I hope to wake up to a super-duper day.
