Well, dear readers, yesterday was Sunday, for those of you who might no have known. Sunday, for those of you who might not have known, is a day of rest. And yet, I did not rest. In fact, I worked all day and I worked all night, with only a little visit to my reunion to break up the work. I got up early, did the two-mile version of the jog, and then revised, fixed, and polished my liner notes for the new Kritzerland release. That took a couple of hours. I then had to answer e-mails (I had no time to return telephonic calls), and then I went to the Wood of West to attend a weird reunion of my sixth grade class – a 50th reunion if you can believe it. I basically went to make an appearance, which I did, but ended up staying for about ninety minutes and visiting with a handful of really nice folks. One fellow I spent time with was my “protector” in junior high school – I would have had the merde kicked out of me by various and sundried bullies had it not been for him. He’s in Kritzer Time, but in a very fictionalized way. He hasn’t read the books, so I promised to send them to him (he lives in Oregon now, with his very nice wife). After that, I came home, where I was joined by a new occasional Kritzerland helper, and together we addressed all the packages for the release we’re shipping this week. All that’s left is to put the postage on, which I’ll do later today. So, that was a big lot of work that got done. I then went to Jerry’s Deli again, and had my usual sandwich and fries, but also had their yummilicious chocolate mousse pie, just because I thought I deserved a sweet treat, after the emotional turmoil of the last couple of days. I then came back home, and tried to start watching a motion picture, but I had to go back to the computer and do an editing road map for the Kritzerland release that follows the one we’re announcing this week. I’m just trying to get ahead of the game a little, but I don’t know if that’s possible, if I keep to this one title every two weeks schedule, which I’d like to, at least for the next couple of months. I also want to get as much done as I can on that upcoming release, as I’ll be out of town for five count them five days. So, I spent about ninety minutes doing the road map, and that’s a big load off my mind. I then had many more e-mails to respond to, all having to do with the schedule for the long musical as regards casting, our upcoming private table reading, recording a demo, and then our staged reading. And I had to deal with scheduling the Brent Barrett sessions, which was time consuming and also which consumed time. And by the time all that was done, it was eleven-thirty and time to start writing these here notes. Whew!
I’ve been continuing to watch Planet Earth before bedtime, but I think watching all those animals kill and eat each other is giving me bad dreams. But boy is there amazing footage in these shows – breathtaking, really.
Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because frankly my lids are heavy and I must finish these here notes because this particular Sunday, was the day of rest that wasn’t.
I forgot to mention that there were several yearbooks at the reunion – I’ve seen most of my high school yearbooks, but someone had brought my junior high yearbooks, and boy were those weird to look at. I wish I’d had more time to find pictures of people I remember fondly – I did find my 7th and 8th grade pictures, which I hadn’t seen since they were taken.
Today, I have my dentist appointment in the early morning, and I’m just praying that today’s visit will not involve getting shot with Novocain, so send all your excellent vibes and xylophones for a pain-free visit. After that, I’ll come home and listen to the fixed master of our new release, and then I’ll try get some relaxation time in. I’ve got plenty of motion pictures to watch, because I’ve been recording a ton of stuff on MGM-HD – amazing movies that never had anamorphic transfers on DVD are in hi-def on this channel, so I’m very excited to see them in great quality. I do have to work out the schedule for my rest of the week – there is a LOT going on and it’s not only whelming, it’s a little overwhelming. I did get the seats I wanted for the upcoming flight to New York, so that gave me a big sigh of relief.
All right, then, let’s put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s dance the Hora and the Square Dance, because today is the actual birthday of our very own S. Woody White. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our very own S. Woody White. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN S. WOODY WHITE!!!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do some sort of jog (although it may have to wait until after the dentist), have a dentist appointment, listen to a new Kritzerland master, and then try to get some relaxation in. Today’s topic of discussion: What remnants and trinkets and ephemera do you have left from your school days, especially junior high and high school? Why have you kept them, and do you ever take them out and look at them? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I try to make up for the day of rest that wasn’t.
