And the word of the day is: EPICENE!
Mr. Moore, I have two song clips to send to you, re your conversation with Anthony last night. I will do it as soon as I meet my morning posting quotient.
Good morning! I rarely post on page one so I had to say something.
He is the grandson of MacDonald Carey.
Note to those who may be recording things tonight:
President Bush is addressing the nation at 8 p.m. which may likely throw shows off their intended time slots. Be advised to add some recording time if you can when planning what you're going to record tonight.
I just checked and saw that Tivo has yet to take Bush's address into account in its scheduling. It still shows that The King of Queens and How I Met Your Mother are running at 8:00 to 9:00. If everything gets bumped an hour, I'll miss recording New Christine. But then that will clear up Tivo to record the Judy Garland By Myself documentary on TCM.
Now I understand why some people own two Tivos.
That superb Judy Garland: By Myself documentary is on the EASTER PARADE DVD set, by the way, as a bonus feature.
Oh my gosh! Then I already have it. Easter Parade was part of the Classic Musicals collection from last year. I only watched the "Mr Monotony" number on the second disc.
Thanks for reminding me, DR Matt. That makes things a little simpler for tonight's recordings.
TORONTO - A mocking announcement about Canada's prime minister, "Stephen Harper Eats Babies," was flashed on electronic advertising signs on Toronto area commuter trains for several days, and technicians were still scrambling Tuesday to get the signs fixed.
"Stephen Harper Eats Babies. Stephen Harper Eats Babies. Stephen Harper Eats Babies," started to appear every three seconds across some LED screens late last week. The signs usually carry transit updates and advertising spots.
"It appears that this was a case of electronic vandalism," said Stephanie Sorensen, corporate communications and media specialist for the GO Transit commuter system. "We assume it was a hacker. We haven't identified the person who did this, but we're working closely with the contractor who runs the signs to fix the problem."
Screens on GO Trains have been shut down since Monday. Sorensen said she expects they will remain off line for a few more days until password-protected technology is installed to protect them from computer hackers.
"We regret that it happened, and we're sorry if anybody was offended, including the prime minister," Sorensen said.
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A high school teacher has apologized for asking students to write about whom they would kill and how they would do it, and officials said he will likely keep his job.
Michael Maxwell, who teaches industrial technology at Central High School, said his request that students in his beginning drafting class describe how they would carry out a murder was merely a writing prompt. It was not clear why he asked the drafting class to write fiction.
My new stove
Congrats for posting on page 1 Jane!!
TPunk, graduation and an AIDS walk, it seems so fitting.
ZONK!!!!!
Lovely Carol Merrill in a canoe and Indian headdress! Sorry, DR DtM.
Re: last night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.
I have said this before, but i really wish that was a lot more interaction between the four stars. Too often it feels like they are leading completely separte lives.
Ummmm...they are leading separate lives.
Doesn't everyone?
Re: last night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

I actually thought the show was pretty good. Yes it was sort of somber and chilling. But there were lots of new developments.
I thought the whole thing with lynnette was quite interesting, the way she followed tom. The promos had made me think that he was not cheating. And then when she was gone at the end, it brought back the conversation that she had had with him re: cheating and how she would leave.
I thought that the whole thing with carlos, gabby and the surrogate was quite foreshadowing of things to come.
And I thought that edie and the fight and the bee thing was pretty funny. Oh and susan and the wire. And it was nice to see susan with the plumber again. And REALLY nice to see Susan get to interact so much with bree. I have said this before, but i really wish that was a lot more interaction between the four stars. Too often it feels like they are leading completely separte lives.
Also, re: bree, i was not expecting any of that!
Oh and the end with paul young was interesting too. Can't wait for the season finale next week.
Here is the new fall schedule for NBC:

Skip the President--sounds like an idea to me.
It also sounds like the title of a comedy pilot that wasn't picked up. About America's first twenty year-old elected leader.
Starring...?

Someone from the cast of MTV's Laguna Beach no doubt.
JRand - I heard that the "new" cuts on the PAJAMA GAME CD are just cuts that Harry Connick Jr wanted to add. They aren't in the show, just on the CD. Sort of like bonus features on a DVD

And the Bush twins could do cameo appearances.
Yipes - I think I covet Vixter's bike!!! And so to my chores... laters, gators!
I'd put up a photo of my new underwear, but I don't want to.
I think Bush should have picked tomorrow night to do his TV thing....that way, he'd piss off the most people by preempting "American Idol."
I think I will be watching Toshiro Mifune instead of the President.
I can't wait for tonight's season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Last night's episode was great and when it was over I was jumping around without anyone to talk to. I was so glad to see that I didn't have to wait very long for the conclusion.
Toshiro is easier to understand...even with the subtitles turned off.
Preempt Americn Idol and his approval rating would probably go into the negative digits no matter what the message was!! ;D
Good walking vibes for you TPunk... are you still accepting contributions?
I just have one question: WHAT THE HELL WAS IZZY THINKING????
And it looks like NBC is giving no consideration to Saturday nights.
Oh please,
pretty please,
pretty please with a cherry on top.....
you know you really want to......
If I skip the gym then I will have more viewing time. But then how would I make up for the chocolate fudge frosting that I am currently eating right out of the container.
For those interested in the new All-Star edition of BIG BROTHER coming in July, here's a news release about it:
<CBS selecting 20 former players as finalists for the upcoming all-star edition of Big Brother. The players won't learn whether they've made it into the house until the show's live July 6 premiere, when eight of them will be abruptly sent home. With that kind of potential for massive on-camera meltdowns, we're setting our TiVos now.>
Big Brother's seventh edition will feature an "All-Stars" cast comprised of houseguests who have appeared on the reality show's six previous editions. After CBS and the show's producers select a pool of twenty previous contestants, the public will get to vote on which former houseguests will get to participate in Big Brother 7: All-Stars. As in previous years, Julie Chen will host the Thursday broadcasts that will feature the live eviction of one of the houseguests.[/quote]
Can't access the site through AOL - what else is new?
Pianist is now forty minutes late and I am getting REALLY annoyed. There is so much to do and now he's putting me in a time-crunch to get through by my dinner. Four hours and turned into three hours, which is not so good.
Maybe he is trapped under something heavy.
More likely he's from the Rube Goldberg school of technology.QuoteST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A high school teacher has apologized for asking students to write about whom they would kill and how they would do it, and officials said he will likely keep his job.Perhaps they were studying The Mikado?

I am at work right now and we are busy stuffing bags (pamphlets, condoms and tootsie rolls, etc.) for AIDS Walk on Sunday. I can't believe it's only a few days away. This is my 6th AIDS Walk and I am walking with my mom this year since she will be in town for my graduation. The tootsie rolls are for demonstrating how to put the condom on, right?
Skip the President--sounds like an idea to me.Or the comedy pilot of America's first president who thinks he's still twenty.
It also sounds like the title of a comedy pilot that wasn't picked up. About America's first twenty year-old elected leader.

(Far less intimidating than a banana or cucumber. ;D)

TOD:
I am happy to tell you Faith aficianados that three of the rarest Faith LPs ever have just been released (well, actually tomorrow, but I got advance copies) on CD: his two Japanese only releases of contemporary Japanese pop music of the 70s, and the 50s album Touchdown. They're available at www.Taragon.com. The Japanese albums especially will delight fans of the classic 60-70s Faith sound.
Catching up department: Betsy and I watched, for the first time ever, A Kiss Before Dying the other night on TCM, based on a book by BK's close personal friend Ira Levin. May I just say that Virginia Leith was perhaps the most laughably bad actress I have witnessed recently
A Friend bought a new house today. It's pretty run down, but the view is totally incredible and with a lot of work it could be a very cool place. We stopped up there after work for a glass of champagne. It was nice
Vixter's bicycle
Starring...?
I realize that today is not ASK BK Day, but that apparently hasn't stopped me. Does anyone have any idea why a boy's bike has that bar across it and the girl's doesn't? As I learned many times as a youth, it should be the other way around.
Toshiro is easier to understand...even with the subtitles turned off.
I don't watch GRAY'S ANATOMY.
But the hear the breathless announcers on ALL the networks this week each and every SEASON FRESH CLIFFHANGER SPINETINGLING SUSPENSEFUL SURPRISING HEARTBREAKING FINAL FINAL SEASON/SHOW ENDING EPISODE for the next seven days are the most spectacular and earth-shaking in the HISTORY of television....
YAWN...for most of the shows....
DRLaura how far from Vegas are you? We might take a trip there this winter. I would love to have someone to walk with while Keith gambles.
Dinner tonight will be grilled chicken. Checked with the apartment manager this morning and our little gas grill is ok to use after all!
On a sadder note, INVASION has been canceled by ABC. However, they renewed WHAT ABOUT BRIAN, an hour dramedy that did dismally in the ratings on Monday night.
Looks like 7th HEAVEN might be back for at least 13 shows next season after all. What a surprise!
Of course you don't care, Jrand, you don't have to watch the shows, you can just read the Tarot to find out what happens.

A six-week vacation, Cillaliz? Neat! If you happen to end up in Las Vegas, let me know! I'll meet you there!
Well you could call it a vacation, but I'm not joking about the burn out. It's been bad and I need to have the break so I can figure out where I go from here.
I am 300 short miles away, and always up for a trip. I can show you the squeaky-clean things to do in Sin City.
I hope you do unwind and relax.
Thanks! Just knowing that I will be able to get this paid leave has really helped. I don't remember the last time I had more than 2 weeks in a row off...this will be sooo nice
And nice when you have that note in your hands.
All the best, Cillaliz, but you aren't going to take six weeks away from us are you?
Oh, TCB, how could I leave you ;)
Thanks! Just knowing that I will be able to get this paid leave has really helped. I don't remember the last time I had more than 2 weeks in a row off...this will be sooo nice
We get a blow-by-blow account every evening!
JRand - Back when Encores did their presentation of PAJAMA GAME starring Karen Ziemba and the World's Sexiest Man Alive (WSMA) Brent Barrett, there was a talkback after one of the perfromances. Even back then, long before Harry Connick Jr's involvement, Richard Adler had indicated that there was talk of a revival which (I'm paraphrasing from middle-aged memory) would include material not previously heard in the show. So it may have been Adler's influence, at least based on what was suggested at that talkback years ago.
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN SAMURAI - that's actually the name of something, isn't it?
Hi all, I was a little worried after the visit to the doctor. She was more than willing to help me out and agreed I'm burned out, but didn't think she could just write a note and I'd get 6 weeks off. Well, I called our Administrative Officer and my boss. Their response was "is 6 weeks enough? do you need more time? whatever you need we'll workout" Sheesh! Who woulda thunk it. So my boss is coming up tomorrow and I'll touch base with my doctor to get the note I need and I'll most likely be on leave from next Monday until July 10. I'll have to use a few days of vacation, but I'm sure Paul will let me help him paint a mural on the water tower for Saturday in the Park again this year, so that will be how I end my leave of absence
Check out the photos from a Thailand zoo (sorry I can’t just post them or do the click here thing) of piglets playing with a tiger. http://www.animalliberationfront.com/News/AnimalPhotos/Animals_1-10/Tiger_piglets.htm
Hello and Laters!... Am juggling production notes on one script with addressing notes on another that's going in to the Network in a few days. Had a good meeting on that one this morning. Was almost late because I was doing last minute production rewrites. I actually like being crazy busy -- but it will be nice to have a little time to rest.
The book of A Kiss Before Dying is brilliant - one of the best debut novels ever, and the films made from it could never hope to duplicate the head-twisting surprise of the book.
LOL, I assure you it should not be the other way around. My guess is girls needed a bike without a bar to accommodate a skirt.
SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN SAMURAI - that's actually the name of something, isn't it?
Hmmm...I think it might be one of DR Elmore's videos...subtitled, of course.
