Well, you've read the notes, the notes were averagely average and now it is time for you to post until the averagely average cows come home.

And the word of the day is: SWEVEN!
-
Welcome twelve GUESTS - apologies for the late notes.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Will we never get to page two?
-
I haven't unwound yet, and even though I should go directly to bed, I'm not really all that tired for some reason.
-
Welcome sixteen GUESTS - I'm available for conversation.

GUESTS come, GUESTS go, like Grand Hotel.

The new NY governor has directed NY State agencies to recognize same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions. Perhaps a quick trip to Canada or California is in order!
Although marriage to same-sex partners has previously been available in Massachusettes - but only to state residents.

I love em dashes!!! :)

Sweven - I'm in sweven. And the cares that hung around me through the week.
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.
I love Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, mostly when they dance, but no matter their off screen feelings, they did have a great onscreen rapport...and those great songs didn't hurt!
-
Thanks DR TCB.....the photo of course doesn't do me justice....it's more incriminating than anything else....looks just like me!
DR JOSE - Football Dancer may not have come back this year. So I guess I don't have to worry about watching the show. And thanks to DR JENNIFER for her reports as well. I will certainly enjoy reading about it - so I hope a few DR's stick with it.

Mrs. Dash
Molly has arrived from Seattle and decided she needed some sleep. We are working together tomorrow at World of Wisdom, but she has no SET plans today....
I am rehearsing ALL MY SONS tonight....it's going okay. That play is certainly heavy.
DR ELMORE thanks for the Dustin Hoffman story - I still don't like him on screen, but now I feel better about him off screen. I think DR JMK has a Hoffman connection through his late uncle.
-
Watched THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL last night. Interesting film.....

Wow, DR DAKOTACELT, can you believe I had never heard of TimTams?
Now I am off to catch up on my sleep.

Good Morning all.

Another long day at the office.
I'll be back later and pop in and out when I can.

Before I go, Congrats to our svelte and loverly VixDeb.

Good morning, all! I have been up since 6 am, had the laundry into the washers by 7, and now I'm exhausted. This moprning around 10:30 Mr Alex Rybeck is stopping by to borrow a score for PETER PAN, and this afternoon I have a meting about doing a chart for Mr Daniel Rodriguez. I will shortly call the post office and pick up a week's worth of mail. Oy!
The rest of the day will be spent on Brain surgery.
DR JRand57, Dustin is a wnderful pianist; he supported himself through acting classes by playing for dance rehearsals. I told him he would be wonderful in THE MIKADO as Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner. I like his work, but I also like him and can't stand Frances Farmer, so what do I know? But I love Allison Hayes!
TOD: I like a lot of paintings but I think the one I just like to stand and look at is Prendergast's "Umbrellas in the Rain."

Thursday morning greetings! By leaving 10 minutes early I managed to fill up my car (at the bargain price of $3.79/gallon), drop some mail at the PO, make a bank deposit, and still get to work 5 minutes early.
TOD - Mark Tobey has been one of my favorite painters ever since I first saw his "Broadway Melody" at the University of Michigan Museum of Art - almost 40 years ago. This isn't it, but similar:

I'm a big fan of the late Al Hirschfeld.
In fact, I have 10 of his signed/numbered lithos hanging in my living room.
-
The Sex & The City movie starts here tonight at 10pm (is that happening other places too?). But i'm not sure when i'll get to it (since 4 other people want to go with me).
It only got 2 stars in the paper here.
-
I am so excited for tonight's 2 hour finale of LOST.
Also it says in the paper here that the 8pm re-broadcast (of the previous episode) as an expanded scene (i think it's when the 6 were being interviewed).
And more SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!
-
Good morning!
Another very cool morning and likely one of the last ones until fall. Overcast still since they're still predicting some rain. He had close to an inch off and on yesterday.
-
Yes, the two hour season finale of LOST promises to be something else. Last year's season finale was a mind-blowing experience, and I suspect if tonight's isn't, folks are going to be screaming bloody murder. The season has been so superb, however, that I'll be satisfied if the finale is only good rather than great.
We'll see.
-
I always see you guys mention gas prices in gallons (which means nothing to me). The prices here are supposed to be the highest in canada ($1.44/litre). Does anyone know how they compare?
-
After I get in from lunch with friends, I'll be continuing with 7TH HEAVEN, not something I'm looking forward to. Why couldn't THESE have been half hour episodes and THE ODD COUPLE hour ones?
-
I've mentioned here before that my favorite painting is "Guernica" by Picasso.
-
Wasn't "Guernica" a song in I LOVE MY WIFE?
-
Or was that "Monica"

I, too, like the work of Helen Frankenthaler. I also like the work of many others, including that of my friend Jean Weinbaum, who is kind enough to send me baby watercolors from time to time. His work is abstract, but I also love good portraiture and other realistic works.

Mr. Mostel is coming to tea?

-
Whew! Well at least that narrows it down a little bit! ;)
Georges Seurat - "La Grande Jatte", of course, but I'm also fascinated by some of his smaller canvases, and the recent exhibition of his drawings at MoMA was revelatory.
Frederic Remington - There was an exhibition featuring his "night paintings" at the National Gallery of Art a few years ago. Some truly luminous and haunting images.
(http://www.fredericremington.org/resizer.php?max=480&src=store/images/newend.JPG)
The aforementioned Caillebotte - I still remember seeing that painting during my first trip to the Art Institute of Chicago. I was speeding through the galleries trying to find the Seurat when I was stopped by that image of a Parisian street scene. Beautiful.

I got a boat-load of stuff from UPS yesterday. A bonanza, really. Having taken advantage of some sales/markdowns at Amazon, I got the first three seasons of "Silk Stalkings", the first two seasons of "The Dead Zone" and the first season of "The Invaders."
Also in the load were the new Broadway CDs for "A Catered Affair" and "South Pacific".
I got the movie "The Dead Zone", as well, and it was my evening's viewing PLEASURE.
Last night, for the first time, I discovered that I really like Christopher Walken when he's perfectly cast. I'd been not-so-much a fan for many years, and I'd seen this movie before. Last night, though, it "sang" to me. It is a wonderful film, with a wonderful story and wonderfully human, beautifully portrayed characters, and it's wonderfully directed by David Cronenberg, and it was beautifully scored by the late Michael Kamen.
I further received some CDs of classical music. I've been buying the RCA "Living Stereo" classical recordings, as well as the Mercury Living Presence classical recordings. I'm going for the titles I've either loved or have long wanted to hear. I buy "used" as often as I can because it could be quite costly to buy as many of these as I want at full price, even though full price is normally $11.99.

I helped the DH change some light bulbs at his workplace last evening. [No light bulb jokes, please! :) ]
In any case, the church owns one of those "Giant Ladder" systems - I forget the exact name, but the ones you see on those infomercials. I was quite impressed - it worked very well. And to reach the top of the sanctuary, we had it extended as far as it would go!

I did something sort of stupid yesterday. Although I didn't realize at the time that it was stupid.
Last year i had that really bad lower back problem. But it has been 100% for months. So i didn't even think anything of it when i was lifting back bags of earth yesterday.
It didn't hurt while i was doing it.
But then a few hours later when i was in the car, my back did not feel right (the car was always the worst).
I should have realized that the earth was too heavy. And today my back is still not right. It's not terrible (maybe a 4/10). The worst part is that i need to finish planting my garden.
I still have a lot of the homeopathic pills i took last time. So i may try that again.
:(
-
I am looking forward to seeing IN THE HEIGHTS when i watch my recording of THE VIEW.
Also, (not that anybody cares) but the JANICE DICKINSON MODELLING show was not on (i had a feeling when it was not in that day's newspaper listings). For some reason i really wanted to see it! :)

My dad said something so funny yesterday re: the last few episodes of LOST
(don't read if you did not watch the last 4 episodes).
*
*
*
*
*
*
My dad had been away for a few weeks and had not caught up on the last 4 shows.
Anyhow yesterday he said the funniest thing to me re: the shows.
I guess he watches like a lot of viewers. He forgets a lot. And doesn't go to message boards or read about the show.
So he watched the last 4 shows and says to me, "you know we didn't really learn that much in the last few shows (??? is he nuts), except that claire and jack are brother and sister".
I told my sister that last night and she was cracking up (since so much has happened during the past shows but that was one of the only things we did know before).
I wonder if the writers mostly write for very observant people. Because my did did not even realize that it was jack's father who had taken claire away.
Also, my dad is convinced that many others make it off the island too (like locke). I totally don't think so, but think they are still alive on the island). His proof is that ben got off (but the Others have always come and gone!).
So he says many make it off, "except jin cause he is dead!".
So then i had to explain that just because jin did not get off the island we don't know he's dead (because the date on the coffin is the date of the plane crash, not the day he really died).
:)

Oh gosh i am so hungry!

I guess when Ron says "ship" - they ship!

They love me. They do.

I don't know if anyone really wants any LOST spoilers. I did read a couple articles in my local paper. But it was mostly speculation. ANd a few indications of scenes and things that we will be filled in on (not the actual info just where the scenes woudl take place...)
But my sis said (she did not read this) that tvguide.com spoiler addict michael aussiello (sp?) wrote a big column with presumably all kinds of insider info. I think i will read this tomorrow just to see how much he knew (btw he's leaving tvguide).

And you will be recording this for me, won't you??
You betcha! So far, I plan this special, the South Pacific half hour special, and the LOGO network half hour special to add to DR Tomovoz's copy of the Tonys themselves. :)

What's the LOGO half-hour special?? I haven't heard of this. Could I have those other shows, also. I won't need you to record the Tonys, of course. ;)

Woody's Limited Edition (1256/2400)

That's a great sketch, DR derBRUCER.
-
That's quite a haul, DR Ron Pulliam! Did the package require a forklift to deliver and transport home?
;D
-
You love causing moral dilemmas!
;D
-
What's the LOGO half-hour special?? I haven't heard of this.
CBS News on LOGO did a half hour "Tony Preview" show that ran last weekend. I haven't watched it yet, but my impression is that it has a few show clips and a lot of interviews with the nominees.
You're on my list, DR George! :)
-
It's only a moral dilemma if you have morals.
LOL.
Thus speaketh The Enabler.

I'm on meds; I have an excuse!

That must have been some job living in Italy!
der Brucer
Good point! Yes, indeed!
It's not that they have so much religious art, it's that they have so much religious art that's just bad!
der Brucer
Well, Italy does indeed have a lot of religious art.
I always enjoyed the reliquaries in the local parishes with notes that said "Herein lies the bejeweled remains of Saint Neversleptaround's wrist - other bodily remnants may be found in the following churches:...."
Methinks der B and I had somewhat different experiences in Italy. I was staying in a very cheap pensione near the train station in Florence. I had a school chum who was spending her junior year abroad in Italy. Some of her classmates had frescoes on the walls of their dorm. I was indeed impressed. It was a very rich experience for me.
-
I love this painting. DR Kerry painted it and gave it to me for Christmas.

What a lovely gift!

DR JEANNE - At first I thought your wrote that your friend sent you baby WATERMELONS! 8)
;D
No, no one's sent me watermelons of any size to my recollection. ;)
The baby watercolors hang better on the wall.
-
I took a nice walk, stopped at the bank, tried to find an item at the drug store that they apparently do not stock, had a Caesar salad for lunch at La Madeleine, and returned a DVD to my local video store. It took me a little over an hour--far longer than DR GINNY'S speed-errands, but I got some exercise, fresh air, a bit of sun, and chatted with some friends.
-
List?
-
DR Jeanne - your errands sound much more pleasant than mine. The best part of mine was being able to listen to my audiobook in the car.
-
If you're having trouble with the topic of the day, is that a mural dilemma?
-
Or something like that?
-
List?
(http://www.musicgiftsofengland.com/images/products/cl01.gif)
-
Or a lack of murals, DR FJL.
-
Time to get ready for rehearsal.
-
Do you draw?
When you were young, did you like to color?
Yes, actually I drew quite a lot when I was a kid. Never painted, however.
-

One might even say that you were quick on the draw! :o

I am very, very, very happy ;D to report that after a 4 year delay season 2 of ADAM-12 will be out in September!!
Evidently, Universal did not feel the need to release anything past the first season >:( of Adam 12 and Dragnet (although they did seem to think everyone would love to have several seasons of EMERGENCY)... another company has licensed Adam-12 from Universal as well as some other TV series (don't know if Dragnet is among them, but I do hope so).
-
Oh, Singdaw....it is fortunate that groaning is not allowed on HHW.
-
I actually need to retract my TOD comment...I do have a favorite painter...my late buddy and interviewee and star of numerous sword and sandal epics and Spaghetti westerns, Gordon Mitchell....I loved his work and was quite touched when he gifted me one of his paintings, which hangs on a wall in his house.
Here are a couple of shots of Gordon with a few of his friends from the gym as well as Mr. Mickey Hargitay, taken at Gordon's 2001 showing of his work at an exhibit in Santa Monica.

I'm jealous! :)
Much as I could complain about the way the employees were treated at The Drama Book Shop, it had perks: I met everybody at one time or another, coming up or going down in their careers.
-
Yes, actually I drew quite a lot when I was a kid. Never painted, however.
Then where did all that lead poisoning come from?
-
It was so cool this morning that I was afraid I'd be uncomfortable wearing shorts today instead of jeans, but it was perfectly fine with the shorts. Lunch ran long because we had some errands to run.

DR MBarnum, several sites are all heated up today about Upen Patel. Aren't you a big fan of his ouevre?
-
I got home in time to watch three more episodes of 7TH HEAVEN. My lord, that is one TALKY program.
-
The only guest star of any note on the series in the three episodes I watched today was Miguel Sandoval (the DA on MEDIUM) playing the father of a new character, Joy, who's become the latest love interest for Robbie.
[don't ask]
-
DR MBarnum, several sites are all heated up today about Upen Patel. Aren't you a big fan of his ouevre?
Oh yes I love Upen Patel! He has a new movie coming out...or maybe it is out now...I think I may have just gotten it in the mail yesterday!
He was so good in 36 CHINATOWN...!!
-
I had time to skim through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yep, the boys were on the streets of NYC holding hands, etc. Col. Crazy is as batty as ever. Ameera is as bothersome as ever.
They were not in the previews for tomorrow's show.
-
PageSeven Scarecrow and Dorothy Dance!!!
-
Aren't you a big fan of his ouevre?
Oh my, yes. Oh, and his movies, too! 8)
-
I guess I'll continue with 7TH HEAVEN when I go back down as much as I'd like to watch another NCIS episode. The more I watch 7H. the quicker I'll be done with it.
-
DR Elmore3003, just what are all of these websites saying about
my to-be husband Mr. Upen Patel?

Congratulations to Vixmom on her inspiring weight loss.
P.S. I found the 45 pounds you lost!

Like elmore, I, too, have a signed to me Hirschfield book - probably from the same source.

In case anyone was wondering what DR BrettySpaghetti is up to, he apparently has been busy grossing out and frightening his friends:

I have a signed Hirschfield print, but it's signed by Bill Irwin. Because it is OF Bill Irwin, in LARGELY NEW YORK.

DR JRand57, that is a very impressive project.
We're working on restructuring a garen at our house. We have to take up several hundred bricks that a previous owner installed...badly.
I see a visit to the chiropractor in my future...
-
I printed out the new galley, entered the little fixes I found last night and may or may not start going through it. I've also been recording Nudie songs into Garage Band, and I also cast the role of Juanita for the reading - the great Yvette Lawrence. All that's left is Eunice. The role of Susie is being read by Jenna Romano (of the Brain cast), George Brenner by Dimas Diaz (of the Brain cast), and the role of John Smithee is being read by Michael Irish (the Narrator of The Brain). We have four ensemble members who'll be reading everything else - no need to have six for the reading. So, all that's left is the role of Eunice, for which I have an idea and will now be e-mailing that person.

It's the only station where you can hear opera, country, jazz, blues, rock, comedy routines, book reviews, dramatic readings, and current indie pop music like Flight of the Conchords, My Morning Jacket, etc.
In this hour, they had a ukelele set, which included a musician I'll be seeing in concert in a few weeks, Jake Shimabukuro.
-
Who is playing the stunt you-know-what?
One of the ensemble boys - probably a Brain cast member, ironically named Dan Flapper.
-
I'm a little logey right now.

I've always loved this painting, by Gustave Caillebotte:
(http://pictopia.com/perl/get_image?provider_id=207&size=550x550_mb&ptp_photo_id=140198)

I hope we hear from Cillaliz, Sioux City is within the "high-threat" area of the weather map.

Yes, the storms are popping up in Nebraska and heading this way. They just announced on the news that because of the forecast they will likely be interrupting the finale of LOST and will rerun it in its entirety at 12:02 AM so that people can see it uninterrupted

Der Brucer - The National Weather Service has issued tornado watch 387 and we are in it until 11:00 PM. Suppose I should unplug the computers before I leave the office. That will really get Edith confused when she comes in tomorrow :)
-
Time to pack up some work and head home....oh great we also have a flash flood watch.
-
DR JENNIFER one gallon has about 3.7 litres.....so multiplying your price times THAT gives you the approximate equal amount.
If you are paying about $!.77 per litre, you are paying about $6.55 per gallon, which is higher than we are....today.
And I suspect she means Canadian $ - so it's really more - $6.64 US

Any body remember the nightmare when US stations tried to go metric in the seventies?

Scary but exciting too. I was in a tornado when I was little. Well, it was across the lake from us, but I saw it. It was amazing. Right now there is a tornado northwest of us. It's going to the Northeast so we'll miss that one. So far nothing in Sioux City.
I do have one cat carrier already in the basement and the other at the top of the stairs next to the flashlight and my purse ready to go downstairs if I need to. It feels like tornado weather today. Someone is going to get it, just hope it's not here

FRED!
-
oh, deer, did I say that?
-
You know, it's a whole lot different than it used to be. The radar is so much better. You used to just have to turn on the radio and they relied on spotters. When a tornado is in a rain curtain, you can't always see it and at night, you have to look in the light of the lightning to see the tornado. It was a lot harder to know when to take shelter.
Now, with NOAA weather radios, dopler radar on tv etc, most of the time you know when to take shelter.
-

DR Cillaliz - does your city have warning sirens, too?
Please take care.
Oh yeah, we have sirens, and I have 2 NOAA Weather Radios and I'm watching it on TV. It isn't here yet. The line of storms will come through here. It's what happens this time of year. The wind is really picking up right now. Oh, maybe I should stop this, I don't mean to scare anyone. I'm paying attention and will head for shelter if I need to . There's also a good chance we won't get anything. All the TV shows are preempted by weather when there are tornados. So it' isn't hard to be advised.

I'm going to sign off for awhile. The wind is really howling. I'll check in when it's over.

These are wonderful...that is so cool, DR Ginny!
-
Good Evening!
After I had signed off earlier, I got a call back from someone who had been looking for a pianist to fill in for a brief recording session this afternoon. -He had called me last night, but I didn't get the voicemail until I was getting ready for bed. Well, it turned out he still needed a pianist to lay down a track, so...
He sent me a copy of the music. I scanned it briefly - since that's basically all I had the time to do before heading down to the recording studio on the Lower East Side - then hopped on the D train downtown.
To make the whole thing go faster - and to make my life easier(!) - I went ahead and asked if it would be OK to track my playing hands separately. -Which, as it turned out, was a very smart thing to do since the left hand part of the piano basically doubled the bass part (which had already been tracked).
All in all, it was very hit-and-run, but through the wonder of ProTools, they should be able to mix it down to something more-than-usable. And they're hoping to have it ready by this weekend.
Whew!
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
to Cillaliz, Callie, and Bootsie!
Thanks! I actually call her Boo Boo Ann or BooAnn. I don't know why, but I do. It's very windy here, but the really severe stuff has mellowed for the moment. It's still not here and the wind is howling, but that's not unusual. We'll probably just get a really big thunderstorm.
-
It's' going to be here in about 30-45 minutes.
Ok, later gaters.
It's the only station where you can hear opera, country, jazz, blues, rock, comedy routines, book reviews, dramatic readings, and current indie pop music like Flight of the Conchords, My Morning Jacket, etc.
In this hour, they had a ukelele set, which included a musician I'll be seeing in concert in a few weeks, Jake Shimabukuro.
Their programming reminds me of WCVE (http://ideastations.org/radio/index.html) in Richmond. During the week, the days were programmed: NPR, Classical Music, NPR, Jazz, Classical. But then on the weekends, it was a veritable free-for-all of musical styles. The classic jazz and big band programming on Saturdays - combined with "Car Talk" and other programming - would be reason enough to stay in bed a few extra hours on the weekends.
-
Jose, I am a bit slow, is that an internet program?
You're not slow. I just didn't explain it well.
Yes, "The Battery's Down" is an internet program via YouTube. Each episode features a different group of Broadway stars and near-stars, as well as music by a different songwriting team. The next episode features music by Larry O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde).
-
I love that second one, Ginny.
It was the wallpaper on my old computer. Here's one that reminds me of my book group:
I forgot to mention the painting singdaw posted. I'd never seen it, nor heard of the artist, but I haven't been able to stop looking at it. As with the Sondheim/Lapine Sunday, I'm wondering what the stories on all these people are.
If you ever get to Chicago, you should really head to AIC and see that painting - and the Seurat - in person. What's fascinating about the Caillebotte is that the perspective in the painting reveals different details depending on your own viewing perspective. A truly fascinating, engrossing work of Art.
*And the oversized Goya paintings at the AIC are also quite awesome.
-
Oh man, there was a really good guy on So You Think You Could Dance and it was interrupted by a weather update. That's what I hate about the interruptions when they aren't in our area
Yup. That's why I stared at it for so long. I liked it before I saw it live and in person, but I loved it after that.
They were talking about Treasure Trails on All that Chat yesterday. Specifically the waxing of same on Matthew Morrison in South Pacific. I assumed they were referring to his paycheck, right?
Hmmm... "Treasure Trails"? On "All That Chat"? -Isn't that a topic more suited to BroadwayWorld.com? ;)
If it helps, I can always ask Matthew if he did or didn't just to set the record straight. ;D
I am not trying to be a smart ass, but who is Elmar Oliveira?
Mr. Oliveira is quite an accomplished - and, imho, a bit under-rated - Classical Violinist. His recording of Barber's "Violin Concerto" (originally coupled with Howard Hanson's "Romantic Symphony") is a true recording landmark. (Landmark - ??? - in any case, it's quite a wonderful recording and performance.)
You can find more information about him HERE (http://www.elmaroliveira.com/).
Dear DR TCB - you need to read ALL the posts. ;)
-
And...I love the new avatar! :)
-
You know Matthew?
Yes, I do. I was fortunate to play for some of his coaching sessions during his rehearsals for South Pacific - as well do some coaching myself.
I do. I just don't understand all of them.
Well, I provided a picture this time to make it easier to understand. :)
Thank you. That is basically the photo that is on all of the buses.
Terrific. You don't happen to have one of you and Matthew, where he is dressed as Cable and you are dressed as Liat?
-
HA!
-I'm currently watching "So You Think You Can Dance?" - on a slight DVR-assisted delay - and they're currently in Washington, DC at the Warner Theatre. Alas, I see some familiar faces in the crowd.
::)
The finer points of waxing and manscaping?
-
Well the guy I just saw dance has this ability to just sort of be suspended in mid air. He was fabulous.
-
Before or after Lt. Cable gets introduced to Liat?
-In either case, Mr. Morrison has yet to sign the photo release.
There's no "safe" way to answer that question, so...
:-X
Cilla, aren't you supposed to be in the cellar?
-
Cilla, aren't you supposed to be in the cellar?
No, we didn't have a tornado warning here in Sioux City, just a watch. The storms have mellowed out here, at least for now. South of here is where it's bad now. I hear thunder and we could still have a strong storm, but don't need to go to the basement
-
You all wear long skirts to book club?
Of course, with our high-button shoes!
Yeah, yeah, that is what Dorothy told Professor Marvel.
LOST is just amazing. Segment after segment.
But I weary of the constraints of 4 minute story-telling imposed by advertising.
-
I was thinking of this pose.
What were you thinking about it? ;)
-
What were you thinking about it? ;)
I was thinking that if I was 30 years younger and 100 lbs lighter, I would ask Jose to introduce me to the man.
-
Clay Aiken is going to be a father?
-
Cillaliz, have you ever seen a tornado?
Yes, when I was about 8 years old I was in one...well it was across the lake. My dad was outside with my uncle watching it and I took my Mrs. Beasley and ran up the stairs from the basement to save him. (My mother, Aunt and neighbors were furious) when I got out there I saw it. It was far enough away that I wasn't in direct danger. It was Awesome. I've seen little ones several times.
The scariest storm I was ever in was when my house was pelted with baseball sized hail. I was in the basement under the stairs with my cat Petey. I could hear the windows breaking upstairs. It's really frightening, but doesn't last long.
-
We had a microburst here a couple summers ago. It was the fiercest storm I've ever been in. If I hadn't been so fascinated, I would have been hiding under the bed.
We sustained no damage at our house, but a couple neighboring houses lost their roofs. And all the electric poles were down, like dominoes, all down the road. And the huge metal powerpole was bent at the base.
-
TCB, I don't watch tv much, but years ago there was a Friends episode where Joey was photographed and knew he was going to be in an ad. What he didn't know was that it was about STDs.
I am so glad your photo wasn't used for that purpose!
-
Storms are fascinating. I think we may have missed all of it tonight. There is a theory that thanks to our meat processing plant south of town we have a dome of stench that protects us. I wouldn't bank on it, but a lot of storms to split and go on both sides of us
-
LOL!
So THAT'S why he's alone in the boat.
Think I'll go read police reports from my murder case...great light reading to help me sleep, lol
Good Night!
I have one simple question: How the HELL did it get to be seven-thirty. I believe I'm through working.
Watched THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL last night. Interesting film.....
loved loved loved the book (that's 3 loves, for each time I read it)
HATED the movie
Thasnk goodness, it's only 7:30 ...here I thought it was past 11
Thanks DR Jrand re: the gas prices.
I think i said we are paying $1.44/litre. So that is a lot more than what you guys are paying!
Thursday morning greetings! By leaving 10 minutes early I managed to fill up my car (at the bargain price of $3.79/gallon),
(http://www.adherents.com/images/arts/Mark_Tobey_ptg.jpg)
That is a bargain, I wnet to BJ's to get cheap gas... onlt $4.07 a gallon as opposed to $4.19 everywhere else
<nod>
However, I think "lord" should be spelled with a capital "L" when talking about this program.
;)
*Which season of "7th Heaven" are you reviewing/watching?
Season 6 - Barry Watson's final season on the show (I surmise).
-
Well, I watched three more episodes of 7TH HEAVEN. Beverly Garland was the guest star in one of them, so that was at least a small pleasure.
-
Oh, they have that little girl in the family speak as though she's Aristotle. Everyone goes to her for advice, and she knows EVERYTHING.
I think just about everything about this show irritates me.
-
I'm just about halfway through the set. With some luck (and nothing on TV for me tomorrow night), I should be able to make a major dent in the remaining number of episodes I have left to watch.
-
Well i stayed up to watch all of LOST. I need to think more about what i saw before i write.
But I think i think about these things too much. Because the final reveal was not a shock at all to me.
-
I watched the LOST rerun at 8 with the "squeegees." They're very helpful keeping people's names and their relationships to the overall story clear in one's mind. I also like when previous episodes are referenced with their titles from particular seasons so one can sort in his head the times and years when we found out this information or met these particular people.
When I read about the DVD/Blu-ray set of Season 4 that's coming later in the year, I was dismayed that the "squeegees" weren't listed as a bonus feature. What a shame if they aren't carried over to the sets for the valuable information they provide.
-
The two hour season finale of LOST was as superb as was earlier intimated.
Filled with action, numerous events happening all over the island (and elsewhere) and jumping forward in time with multiple people. Wow! Wow! Wow!
-
Season 6 - Barry Watson's final season on the show (I surmise).
I'm not sure which season he left. But even after his character moved, there were seasons that he was on just a bit. But other seasons where he wasz on a lot.
-
Finally back from rehearsal, and from seeing the second act of FOOTLOOSE.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......
-
I'm vegetating on my couch - I can barely see straight. I'm eating a couple of homemade sandwiches. I had Taco Bell earlier, but that's never really satisfying.
-
So Glad the tornado missed Cilla,,,
-
beddybye time for me... good nigt all
-
My cousin - who is directing FOOTLOOSE brought some pictures to share.....from way back when we were growing up.....and here is yours truly from some Christmas....I guessing 1956 or 57...wish I still had that much hair. 8)
Me for bed, too!!
Work tomorrow.
I think he moves to New York with his wife at the end of the season that I'm currently watching, so I'm thinking he only makes occasional appearances after this season.
I'm heading off to bed now.
Good night!
It just goes on... and on... and on... and on... and on... and on...
*And not in a good way like Lizzie's story in Baby.
-
As for "Lost"...
So... Just how long do we have to wait until we get some more episodes? answers? questions?!?!?!?!?
*And the final moments actually didn't shock me either, however, getting there was certainly quite the journey... And there's obviously a bit more of that journey that we've not seen... And still a bit more to go. All in all, a very satisfying season finale.
-
And another "Lost" question... About the rebroadcast of the penultimate episode...
Was there really any extra footage?
We fast-forwarded through some of it, so maybe we missed it. ??? ??? ???
-
Tired.
-
Finished watching one TIVOd motion picture, and am thirty minutes into another, but I just don't have the energy to finish it right now.
-
Jose, your smiling avatar gives the illusion that you're laughing at all those All that Chat people. :)
-
Jose, your smiling avatar gives the illusion that you're laughing at all those All that Chat people. :)
Well, I certainly never laughed would never laugh at Matthew Morrison's treasure trail.
-
I will say here and now and also now and here that I have laughed at certain posters at ATC over and over again.
I will also say that many of the teen posters at the other site often evoke laughter and for all the wrong reasons.
-
Such provocative postings here on HHW tonight. If our guests are reading, tongues may wag.
-
Hi Cilla. Is everything OK?
-
Hi FJL, yes everything is fine. The news said there were 5 confirmed tornados near here but they were all in the country and didn't really do any damage.
I'm studying an autopsy report. Why can't they just write in English?
-
wondering if the Dome of Stench is anything like the Cone of Silence
-
We have had between 2 1/2 and 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and it's supposed to keep raining through tomorrow morning. So it's a bit soggy around here
-
or have we pondered that already?
-
OK... I'm all caught up on the DVR... And since I'll be meeting DR elmore in eight hours to see "Sex & The City", well...
Goodnight.
-
wondering if the Dome of Stench is anything like the Cone of Silence
I've often wondered that myself ;D
Night Jose, I'm hoping to see Sex and the City tomorrow, too.
Our airport code is SUX. They sell shirts that say "SUX in the City"
