Well, you've read the notes, the notes were bustin' out like June, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they, too, are bustin' out, like June Wilkinson, and boy was she bustin' out.

Good morning, all! I ended up watching Offenbach's revision of Jules Verne, La Voyage dans la lune, which was quite peculiar but certainly funny and spectacular in its 1986 Geneva production. The director Jerome Savary did a spectacular job, and I cannot understand how he destroyed the wonderful La Perichole in his 2000 revision La chanteuse et le dictateur. I suppose inept revisicals are not peculiar to London and Broadway.
I also watched a bit of the BBC tv production of Marschner's DER VAMPYR and a terrible German production of La vie Parisienne. Offenbach may have been German but the Germans make him sound terribly heavy and misguided. That was my evening.
Today, more Brain surgery. My deadline is tomorrow, but I'm about a week behind, and my goal is to turn it all in to Rodgers & Hammerstein a week from tomorrow. I finished Act One of the vocal book yesterday, and I still have the short instrumental cues to consolidate into bigger cues so the band won't be jumping from 3 bars on one page to 2 bars on the next. In the original LACCproduction, the band was drowning in pieces of paper with these cues until DRs Adriana Patti and PennyO stepped into to consolidate them for me.
That's my day. I have nothing else to report.
-
I was watching Rita Rudner's special on PBS last night
She was talking about that she moved to Las Vegas and adopted a baby girl and she took her to school for the first time.
. My favorite line was. I am paraphrasing so I hope it is still funny.
"...Even the playground in Las Vegas are different. This one had a stripper pole"

I am feeling a little lethargic today.

I guess that's better than feeling a big lethargic.

Hucka da bejeepers! It's June!

Like DR CP, I kept thinking the music was familiar as I was watching SCREAMING MIMI last night.....it had a lot of Ronald Stein type suspense strings in it......but as DR CP reported, it was recycled from ON THE WATERFRONT....them guys shore does like to saves money over at Columbia.
I thought the film was a failure on so many levels, beginning with Anita Ekberg who wasn't quite up to the acting OR dancing level of the project. And Lee Scott, the choreographer, who did a lot of work for the Mouseketeers, certainly was ready for Ekberg or Gypsy Rose Lee.
All in all, interesting.....but not a classic.
-
Today is the day of the Open House for the 47th Season of Putnam County Playhouse....wherein the visitors will get to see numbers from FOOTLOOSE....though I think they might be better kept in suspense.

DRVIXMOM and THE VIXTER looked super in their photos from yesterday. If I were having my picture taken where THE VIXTER did, the caption would have to read: "The jukebox is on the right."

It is a beautiful day here today, and the graduation and party were a lot of fun.

I have a copy of a BBC production of RICHARD III which features my illustrious ancestor, Lord Stanley. I may watch that when I come home this evening.

Good morning. That is all.

And the word of the day is: HIEROPHANT!
And The Song Of The Day Is; CELEBRATION
(Music by Harvey Schmidt- Lyrics By Tom Jones)
-
The Universal Studios fire is indeed quite large; three buildings, at least, the King Kong attraction and word of a film vault.
-
This is most distressing. I hope they can save all of the FRANCIS THE TALKING MULE and MA & PA KETTLE masters.

The fire at Universal is very distressing, particularly with the film vaults at risk. Sets can be reconstructed, what is in those vaults cannot.
And, unless my guess is way off, that fire isn't too far from where our esteemed BK resides. Not that his home would be in danger, but the air quality has to suck right now. Respiratory vibes to BK!

Good morning!
My power went out during the night, so I had an irritating morning of resetting digital clocks and other bothersome things. It's BARELY cool enough this morning to have the windows and doors open, but in about a half hour, I'll close everything up and see if I can endure the day without A/C.

DR JMK, I liked "Tyger" just OK. It was moody and different. I rather tired of "City Paradise" and "Everything Will Be OK," though the latter had a great sound mix. Loved both Plymptons, and "Versus" was a real hoot combination of Pixar and Looney Tunes that I just loved.
But even the ones that didn't quite work for me were still very interesting to watch. Such creativity and such imaginations these animators have!

Sunday morning greetings! Today's a one-day weekend after a very long day yesterday. After work, Richard and I met at the mall and left my car there while we went to Cincinnati for Swan Lake. He'd brought me a sandwich, since we didn't have time to stop for dinner.
Swan Lake was beautiful and Mary Linda was one busy girl. She had a significant solo in Act 1, was a Big Swan in Act 2, wore a beautiful costume in Act 3, and was a swan again in Act 4. All through the show, I had to keep remind myself that we were on a college campus and the most expensive ticket had been $10.
ML had quite an entourage in the audience. In addition to Richard, Rob, and myself, her parents and grandmother were in from Michigan. Richard's brother John and his wife and daughter also attended. Richard and I left right after giving her a big hug and a little present, because he had to drive back to Cincinnati this morning for church.
-
I'm taking a day off from reviewing and watching things that I want to see for fun.
I'll finish KNOCKED UP which I started last night. I will give the rest of the afternoon over to THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN if it's any good. If not, I'll delete it and continue with Blu-rays up to prime time.
-
I'm curious about the revived "Password" game that's premiering tonight. Love Neil Patrick Harris and expect him to be an excellent player. Doubt I'll watch it "live," but plan to record it and watch later so I can speed through commercials.
-
What WE had yesterday was a bodacious thunderstorm. No damage here, but der B's son-in-law wants us to go over to the trailer campground and check on their summer abode.
(As compensation for checking on the trailer, we've been offered some shrimp that has been sitting in their fridge for a week already, probably longer. Sure, I like shrimp, but.... :-\)

Page Two Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Toto Dance!!!

And, of course, there is the season finale of THE TUDORS tonight. Really looking forward to that (poor Anne).
-
USA is premiering a new series tonight: IN PLAIN SIGHT which sounds intriguing enough to make me want to record it and see if it's something I might like. It might be this summer's BURN NOTICE.

Now, this certainly has frightening elements to it.
Ten cameras (http://www.nypost.com/seven/06012008/tv/forever_betty_113224.htm) for a television game show? "All the hottest stars", (http://www.nypost.com/seven/06012008/tv/forever_betty_113224.htm) meaning Steven Webber and Monique Coleman?
And Regis Philbin as host?
I'll have to dash home after work to make sure I'm glued to the set!
::)

On the other hand, FoodTV has a new ep of Iron Chef America on at 9, followed by the season opener of Next Foot Network Star.

There's an interesting bit on new cookbooks (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/01/books/review/Sifton-Cooking-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=books), over at the New York Times.
I've already been enthusiastic here about Ruhlman's Elements of Cooking. Schwartz's JEWISH HOME COOKING: Yiddish Recipes Revisited sounds good - I enjoyed his New York City Food not too long ago. IZAKAYA: The Japanese Pub Cookbook also sounds interesting.
But I'll pass on THE OPRAH MAGAZINE COOKBOOK. We're selling it at the store (part of the remodel involved an increased space for books, hard and softcover), and it just looks like something trading on her name.

That is a very cute(!) cookbook. However, when I see creations like those, I just have to wonder how much more sugar (and fat) you end up adding to the basic cupcake with the additional frosting "glue" and decorative candies. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more frosting, but I'm not really sure I'd like to "provide" that much frosting/energy to a party of eight-year olds. ;)
-

Ouch! Just thinking about all the sugar in all that frosting is making my teeth ache?
Although this does raise a question, Ginny:
Where do you get your books from for the library? Do you use Amazon? Do you shop around for the best prices? Or do you have a special "We're librarians and we get special deals through this source" source?
I mean, I can't see any librarian wanting to squander his or her resources.

This doesn't answer your questions for DR Ginny, but...
I've seen the author of the cookbook on a few TV shows lately. The publisher is really pushing this book.
-And libraries have to have the good with the not-so-good for balance. ;)
-
DR Woody - libraries use jobbers like Baker & Taylor and Ingram and others as our wholesalers. Sometimes, our acquisitions department has to go directly to the publisher, but tries to minimize that because it's always more expensive. We use Amazon more in the selection process, looking for "reviews" and such. We put more stock in reviews in professional journals and the mainstream press, like the New York Times Book Review, but for opinion like you'd overhear in a bookstore, online is a great source.
DR George may want to add to this discussion - he works more in the acquisitions area than I.
-
“Recipes are not assembly manuals,” Ruhlman writes. “Recipes are guides and suggestions for a process that is infinitely nuanced. Recipes are sheet music.”
Well, that's the way the New York Times quoted Ruhlman.
Going to the actual book, what Ruhlman wrote was:
Recipes are not assembly manuals. You can't use them the way you use instructions to put together your grill or the rec room Ping-Pong table. Recipes are guides and suggestions for a process that is infinitely nuanced. Recipes are sheet music. A Bach cello suite can be performed at a beginner's level or given extraordinary interpretation by Yo-Yo Ma -- same notes/ingredients, vastly different outcomes.
Clearly, the NYT has space considerations to consider.
(And the full Ruhlman quote should be thrown at the AOL writer who contends that cookbooks are unnecessary, since every recipe anyone could want can be found online. Fie, I say, and fie again! Books breathe in ways that computers cannot. And cookbooks crave splatters from being used, but if you make a spill on your keyboard...)
-
And now, I really do have to push der B out of the door so that we can lay claim to that shrimp. ::)
And then to work.
Hasta.
-
About the cupcakes - the one that first caught my eye uses very little frosting, but a lot of marzipan vegetables. It's a cupcake garden in which the cakes themselves are unfrosted chocolate lined up in rows.
Some of them, yes, do use a lot of frosting.

JRand, which BBC production of Richard III...who plays Richard. Like you, I find SCREAMING MIMI a failure on so many levels. In the book, the reporter is an alcoholic as I remember. A least a binge drinker. The whole romance between Anita and Phil Carey comes out of nowhere. And, yes, the dances. How can you take someone with the raw material Anita Ekberg has and make her dances dull and uninvolving. Nor did I need Gypsy Rose Lee singing a snatch of Put The Blame On Mame...another recycled musical moment snatched from Columbia's vaults.

The whole series is pretty cool. And it's also pretty cool that they're able to get some "People" - casting directors, directors, composers, lyricists, directors, etc. - to be a part of their series. There's definitely a wealth of talent represented in those short web-musicals.

I spent much of the morning in the garden, weeding and pruning. It doesn't take much rain for everything to spring up--and we've had A LOT of rain.
Yes, we, too, had a humungous thunderstorm yesterday. SHEETS of rain, hail--you name it. It POURED.

Oh, that's good news, BK. We spent a great day at Universal during a family vacation in 1996. While Rob liked the Jurassic Park and ET thrill rides, the most thrilling ride for me was that lo-o-o-o-ong escalator with the panoramic view of the soundstages and backlots. I just thought of all the movie history that had taken place out there.

What burned in the Universal fire
June 2, 2008
* New York City streetscape: Used in countless movies and television shows. This set burned once before, in 1990, and was rebuilt.
* King Kong: The King Kong exhibit on the Universal Studios tour. The exhibit included a 30-foot-tall moving model of King Kong.
* "Back to the Future" set: The town square, including the courthouse area and the clock tower that plays a central roll in the film.
* Video vaults: These vaults contained videos of numerous Universal-produced TV series and movies. Firefighters managed to remove some of the videotapes. "Nothing is lost forever," Universal President Ron Meyer said of the videos.
* Soundstage: At least one full soundstage.
der Brucer
-
Very little of Universal's output was done on actual videotape. This was probably their video masters for film stuff, which is why Ron Meyer said nothing is lost forever.

Not only contained, but Universal is open for business.
The welcoming view:

On the docket for this afternoon: de-cluttering continues apace. :(
-
We had a "stunt" tenor this morning at church - a sub - who sightread flawlessly and had a glorious voice, to boot.
-
Afternoon all. I just got back from a trip to New Jersey via the PATH Train. It now costs $1.75, up from $1.50 and on Saturday and Sunday it's via Hoboken not direct but it was still fun to go and walk to Target, then Staples and then the big Newport City Mall. I had a salad of greens and tomatoes at a salad bar in the Mall. Nothing was purchased though I did lots of browsing.
Yesterday I saw Sex in the City with a huge group of Gay men, lots of women and a few straight boys dragged along by their girlfriends. We really enjoyed it. As SJP said, the movie wasn't made for the critics, it was made for the fans of the series and from what I hear, they love it. Yes, it's a bit long and there are some plot points to quibble about but my friend and I had a great time and laughed and teared up and clapped at the beginning and the end.
On another note, I guess Mike Myers is a big enough star that he can do whatever he wants but boy does LoveGuru look AWFUL!!! I wouldn't watch it on cable for free. But then, I'm also not a MM fan. He wears thin very, very, very quickly. Oh, well, horses is all I can say.
-
Anthony will be back in the City tomorrow afternoon after a long week on Long Island. The countdown begins for his trip to Wisconsin. He has to be there August 3rd and he's driving and doesn't want to do it in one day so he will probably leave around July stopping in Chicago to visit his cousin for a few days.

Next I watched the made-for-TV remake of THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN. So glad I didn't watch it "live." Was able to see the whole thing in less than three hours. Had some really good, tense parts, but the CGI stuff was pretty fake.
Also did not like the leading lady Crista Miller. I find her a very poor actress and haven't liked much of what she's done on TV before.

Legendary Designer Yves Saint Laurent Dies at 71

Pierre Berge says that Saint Laurent died Sunday evening following a long illness. He did not give details.
The innovative designer was an institution for decades in the world of high fashion.
He was widely considered the last of a generation that included Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and made Paris the fashion capital of the world

Back from a quick trip to Kroger.
DR Elmore should have been with me, because the next person in the check-out line was his least favorite Middletown actress.

Wow, now that is a box set that I would like to have. $99.00 seems like a good price, but I guess I will have to pass.

Hey, it's a post.
-
Yesterday I went to bed at about 5:00 p.m. I don't think I will make it that late today.
-
I still feel like I am trying to come down with something - and hopefully not more MRSA.
Yes, for you "bustin' out all over" takes on dire meaning.

I become nude as rarely as possible.
I guess your stripper pole goes mainly unused :D

Watching the new version of Password - not as bad as I thought it would be.
-
Good Evening!
So... Apparently, today was a very multi-cultural-celebration day here in New York City. Part of Fifth Avenue was devoted to the Salute To Israel Day. The East Meadow of Central Park was devoted to Japan Day. (I really wish I had remembered that one and had headed there for a bit.) And it was also Philippine Independence Day here today too.
I did end up heading down to Madison Square Park for the Filipino "festivities" which was basically a big block party. By the time I got there, many of the vendors and booths had already packed up, but there were still a couple of tables in it for the long haul. -And the entertainment on the mainstage was still going on... which brought back memories of my father's karaoke ventures.
I was almost tempted by some of the food, but with only three vendors left, they were all quite mobbed, and they all seemed to be trying to make sure they had enough for everyone. There was one restaurant that had set up some steam tables, alas, it looked like most of their food had been sitting there all day, so I passed.
*I was also handed a copy of one of the local Filipino newspapers. Interestingly enough, most of the articles in the paper were about the "Myth" of Philippine Independence, along with a couple of other articles about how New York City's Philippine Independence Day was more about "National Conglomerates" and not Filipino Culture.
-
Watching the new version of Password - not as bad as I thought it would be.
Nope, not that bad at all. And Neil Patrick Harris is fun! ;)
-
Since I was down at Madison Square Park, I did consider getting a bite to eat at Shake Shack. But even though the line was (relatively) short - only about 30 people deep, I decided to walk past it... And on to Cafe Madeleine for a Banana macaron and a Chocolate/Almond Croissant. :)
-
After my patisserie stop, I hopped on the 2 Train back uptown. The very crowded 2 Train! Of course, by the time I reached Times Square there were a ton of people trying to get off the train, and a ton of people trying to get on it. At the same time.
I then realized that all the matinees had just gotten out. So, of course, as I was trying to make it out of the station, I kept running into various sundried pit musicians and actors trying to make their way home. Hi! Good to see you! Call me! We'll talk more later! What are you up to now?... It may not have been "another hundred people", but it was a good ten. ;)

Marlene Rothfuss or Pat Frost? I thought they were dead.

The one who played Laurie.

Remind me to tell you, DR Jose, about the time I scored the worst musical ever written by a Filipino and witnessed by an audience of celebrities and politicians includng the Phillipine embassy!
-
The one who played Laurie.
Ah, the notorious "Bride of Zorro" production of OKLAHOMA! with siblings playing Ado Annie and Will Parker (oy!) and a leading lady who played Laurie as a tired whore come back to the ranch for a rest and a cure?
It's etched in my mind forever.
-
Remind me to tell you, DR Jose, about the time I scored the worst musical ever written by a Filipino and witnessed by an audience of celebrities and politicians includng the Phillipine embassy!
Well... I'm sure there are couple of "worsts" in that regards. -And I think my parents may still have recordings of some of them. ;)
-
That means, then, whatever happened to Marlene? Is she still down at the dump shooting rats?
-
Good evening. Not sure where today went I've been puttering around all day doing this and that.
-
Good evening, DRs!
That is all.
-
Oh, it is a slow day. So what's everyone reading? I've got the McCullough John Adams bio in my bag, a Jane Austen bio, the score to Henze's THE YOUNG LORD, and PICTURES AT A REVOLUTION: FIVE MOVIES AND THE BIRTH OF A NEW HOLLYWOOD sittig by my bed. MANSFIELD PARK's around somewhere as well. I find it the hardest Austen novel to get through, and I cannot believe that Britten considered turning it into an opera. Thank God he didn't.
-
I'm reading police reports, autopsy reports and depositions...
-
I'm reading Dawn Powell's autobiographical novel My Home is Far Away. It's the first novel of hers that I've read, but I did read her diaries and a biography of her and saw her play Walking Down Broadway at the Mint Theatre in 2005. I'd like to study her and put together a portrayal of her, a la Hal Holbrook's Mark Twain. My retirement career?
-
Page five, my ASS. We need many more pages or there will be hell toupee. RLP isn't here, of course - I think he's annoyed that I'm on the opposite side of an issue that's being argued on the Film Score Monthly message boards - I do hope I'm wrong about this, because it would see rather strange to me that people cannot be on opposite sides of an issue and each argue their points (although I was doing my arguing with my usual humor, and not directing it specifically at RLP, even though several of his posts were directed specifically to me). Anyway, let's get a frenzy or seven going on because this is most unseemly.
-
I mean, it's not as if no one is here, although even our GUEST count is low today.
-
I, to the world am like a drop of water. What the HELL does that mean? That's Shakespeare, you know, but I only know that because I heard Jason Graae sing it on one of my CDs.
-
Will we never get to page six?
-
I will single-handedly take us to page six.
-
Or, I suppose, page six could single-handedly take us to me.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I see people.
-
And I suspect I see page six.
-
So it is written, so it shall be done - page six.
-
I see FJL. I see Ginny. I see elmore. I see Laura. I see Cillaliz. Have we got enough for mah jong?
-
This is mah jong, mah very own jong
(almost a Tom Thumb reference)
-
I am also surfing a bit, haven't been online all day. I'm getting ready to watch The Next Food Network Star.
-
I'm not that into feet, so I'll leave the Next Foot Network Star up to SWoody

Let the games begin....how's that for posting .....huh? Huh?
-
They're talking about wetting their pants and introducing Bob Tuschman on a Food show. Most unseemly.
-
So what's your culinary point of view?
-
Good posting job, DR Cillaliz! I've been here most of the day, but am going to have to wussburger - it's a school night, you know!
-
I, to the world am like a drop of water. What the HELL does that mean? That's Shakespeare, you know, but I only know that because I heard Jason Graae sing it on one of my CDs.
I to the world am like a drop of water that in the ocean seeks another drop, one small speck in the cosmos looking for a match among millions that will or may never match.
-
They're talking about wetting their pants and introducing Bob Tuschman on a Food show. Most unseemly.
Well, you've just fulfilled DR Der Brucer's request for discussions of bodily fluids. Congratulations, kudos, and all that.
-
I'm reading police reports, autopsy reports and depositions...
She wins.
-
My laptop has locked up three times in the last hour.

The pastor handed me three xeroxed hymns for next week. They are such bad copies with so much extra gray on them that I scanned them and am photoshopping them to make them legible.

Food Network spoiler
Susie Fogelson acts like she's constantly eating spoiled food.
-
SPOILED NEXT FOOD NETWORK STAR
A room full of Food Network Stars who were baffled....I bet I know who that was about....
-
Odd that the comedienne seems least at ease in front of the camera
-
SORT OF SPOILER>>>OR NOT
How many people made Salmon? Did they all think they were being original?
-
I have a clogged Kitchen sink and am too lazy to go to the store to get declogger. I tried soda and vinegar and it seems to be doing the trick

PAGE 7 TA DA!!!

FOOD NETWORK SPOILAGE
Given the half hour rule, salmon did seem like the best bet.

Susie Fogelson looked like she was about to smile there, but then got that smell-in-the-air look again.

Odd that the comedienne seems least at ease in front of the camera
She seems to be totally nervous in front of people
-
FOOD NETWORK SPOILAGE
Given the half hour rule, salmon did seem like the best bet.
EVEN MORE SPOILAGE
Who on earth would think they could make meatloaf in a half hour
-
OH!!! I almost forgot....I went to a local market today and the checkers were apparently talking about something that is a musical. One of them said "Oh my god, have you seen Sweeney Todd? I will never eat pot pies again."
-
FOOD NETWORK DON'T-CRY-OVER-RAW-PIG SPOILER
Susie Fogelson has a little bit of a Debra Messing look going there, especially when the kid started crying.
-
FOOD NETWORK SPOILAGE CAN BE VERY STINKY
Ok, call me crazy, but this isn't the first season of Next Food Network Star. Wouldn't you go into it with a number of ideas for 30 min or less etc? It isn't like they don't know that they may have to do something quickly at some point.
-
I had a really entyertaining evening of viewing. I began with MR. & MRS. Smith on Blu-ray. It's certainly one of those three dimensional transfers - so clear you just can't believe it. And it's sooped up with a DTS-HD MA audio track that's also superb.
The film is completely outrageous and unbelievable, but it's still a romp. Too long for its own good but with beautiful people and lots of firepower, sexual and artillery.
I had seen the movie on HBO-HD, but the aspect ratio was compromised in their broadcast. Here I got to see the entire widescreen image in 1080p. Really glorious video and audio on this one.
-
Next, I decided I wanted to rewatch CLOVERFIELD. Since it's such a short film, I was able to squeeze it in in plenty of time before THE TUDORS began.
I don't have the Blu-ray version, just the sDVD which I reviewed some months ago. The Blu-ray version comes out this week, but I'm certainly not upgrading. What I have is good enough for that movie.
-
I had time to watch SUPER PASSWORD. Enjoyable. Any time a game show can get you to shout at the screen, it's got you hooked. PASSWORD has always been one of those games.
-
Hey! Look at Paula's Party! It's David Hyde Pierce
-
BTW, do we have to bother with spoilers on Food Network Star?
-
DR Elmore was right about THE TUDORS. They gave Anne a noble send-off, really quite stirring.
I wonder if the producers are going to keep Jonathan Rhys-Myers young and trim for next season or are they going to start padding him to look more like the king in middle age? By having him stuffing his face at the end of the episode, I thought maybe they might start aging him a little.
-
I guess we should ask....I know Woody may be taping or tivoing or whatever you call it. Jose will be watching too. I would think we should definitely not reveal who is leaving
-
I ended my evening with another episode of NCIS from the season 1 set. This episode dealt with the murder of a Navy diver. Very surprising murderer.
-
I guess we should ask....I know Woody may be taping or tivoing or whatever you call it. Jose will be watching too. I would think we should definitely not reveal who is leaving
And then there's DR Jennifer... She probably won't be able to start watching this season for another couple of months in Canada.
;)
-
Who else but Paula can put such filth into "Antonio, let's get our cupcakes going"
-
And, yes, I am watching. "The Next Food Network Star" that is.
-
And "Ladies, look at the shot you will have the whole show" referring to his rear end
-
And, yes, I am watching. "The Next Food Network Star" that is.
Live or Memorex and do you want spoilers

Live or Memorex and do you want spoilers
I don't care either way.
*I also know one of the producers, so... ;)

I think I got some sun on my arms while I was planting flowers today
-
I don't care either way.
*I also know one of the producers, so... ;)
OH! So you could give us spoilers..... :o
Unless someone really objects, I think as long as we don't give away who's leaving, there really isn't anything that's going to be a spoiler. Anyone have a problem with that?
-
I think I should get a posting award for today
-
Do you know Susie Fogelson? If so, I'll stop dissing her demeanor. :)
-
It was 86 today and I was very sweaty....is summer over yet?
-
Do you know Susie Fogelson? If so, I'll stop dissing her demeanor. :)

I don't know here, so... Diss Away!

If you knew Susie, like I know Susie....
Nope I don't know her at all

Diss away and dat away

I know you weren't talking to me, but I couldn't resist

Oh, an inch and a half of rain expected tonight. My treed and new flowers will like that

Hmm... Could a male version of Paula Deen - say, a Paul Deen - get away with all of that flirting, touching, kissing, nibbling and licking?
-
LOL, I was just thinking the same thing...Paula Deen is a dirty old woman
-
WOW! That's some promo for A&E!!!
-
Apple Tart with David Hyde Pierce
-
Let's see if she behaves herself with David Hyde Pierce.
-
Paula just said "I'm drunk as a coot!" No wonder she's acting the way she is
-
She's laugh snorting!!!
-
Did she say a coot or a cook?
-
"I feed you, I massage you, I do anything to make you feel better"
-
Did she say a coot or a cook?
I think she said coot
-
What cute dogs, Mabel and Maude
-
I did manage to get through today with the A/C, but I think tomorrow will be the kicker. I just don't think I'll be able to cool the house down enough in the morning to last the entire day.
How I LOVED those low power bills for the last few months!
-
I think she's really drunk
-
Now, I think I'll shut the computer down early and head on down to bed.
Good night.
-
How does a big apple tart celebrate his role in Curtains????
-
Because Paula says it does

Whata busdy day, church, Sunday school, errands, laundry gardening, shopping, back to church to drop the Vixter for her murder mystery rehearsal, nmore gardening, shower, off to church for a Congregational Dinner to raise money for Confirmaion Campo... they served us "camp food"
When I went to conformation camp we got mystery meats, hot dogs and mac & powdered cheese and spaghetti with "No Frills" brand tomato sauce...
This dinner was salad, grilled loin of pork, grilled chicken breast, grilled sirloin, mashed potatoes (real ones).. the only canned foods were the green beans and corn and they weren't half bad
The Vixter said the food was really that good at camp last year... she wanted to go again this year but we'll be in Saskatoon when it starts and Grande Praire, (Alberta, Canada, not Texas) whenit ends
-
Time for me to say goodnight. Tomorrow is another day....
-
Yesterday was miserable and rainy but today was a absolutely beautiful day, warm and sunny with a light breeze...perfect weather.
I think I got a littel sun on my legs and arms and face...(I was gardening in shorts and t shirt so now I'll end up with that "Farmer tan"
-
Good Night Cilla good luck with your case
-
Sinbce it's approaching midnight time for me to sign off too... 6:00 AM comes too soon
-
Hmm... When I went to parochial school, we didn't have Confirmaion/Conformation/Confirmation Campo/Camp.
;)
-
Is it 9 yet?
-
Getting closer
-
Just a little more
-
Ok a little bit more

Daniel Day Lewis in NINE dance
-
At least according to broadwayworld.com
http://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=28505
-
At first, I thought it said Daniel Day-Lewis Signed for Nine Films - but then it made sense.
-
Nope, not that bad at all. And Neil Patrick Harris is fun! ;)
Yes! Unfortunately Woody vetoed my idea of a Doogie Door.

-
I, too, was surprised at the Next Food Chefs inability to strategize "the game".
The attempt at the 30 minute meat loaf was stupid - on a par with not testing a roast loin for doneness until plating time. If your on the clock pick Salmon, Lobster or Scallops for an entree. Shucks, you can poach a chicken breat in under 20 minutes!
der Brucer
-
I'll believe the Daniel Day Lewis thing when it's reported officially and not before. Frankly, I don't believe Mr. Bardem was ever actually signed for the film.
However, if he IS actually signed, I have a bet with someone on the ATC board and if I've lost I'm donating ten bucks to BC/EFA. We shall see. Mr. Marshall has said this film was going into rehearsal in a month on about six occasions.
-
This is exactly how we get our books, also. B&T is our major vendor. We use different vendors for juvenile books and AV materials, though. Our professional journals also include Publisher's Weekly, Booklist and Kirkus.
-
Today, my sister and I went to a Seattle Storm women's basketball game. They won by one point! Talk about exciting! :D
Just had to share. ;)
-
Like DR CP, I kept thinking the music was familiar as I was watching SCREAMING MIMI last night.....it had a lot of Ronald Stein type suspense strings in it......but as DR CP reported, it was recycled from ON THE WATERFRONT....them guys shore does like to saves money over at Columbia.
AARRGGHH!! I set my DVR to record this. When I got up, my DVR was on but it had a big error message on the screen, basically saying that my DVR was 100% full! :o Not again. I deleted a tiny clip that I had recorded and INSTANTLY my DVR was ONLY 24% full. What gives? Why does it do that?? It's not fair. :P

I don't know about yours, but mine (from COMCAST) seems to "lose" space over time - if I unplug it and then re-power up, the lost space is recovered. (Turning off is not sufficient, you must un-plug!)
