Could be, but then again, maybe not. It is not uncommon for smaller contractors to purchase a lot and build a spec house. Undeveloped urban land does not oftern find itself in foreclosure - the banks don't lend much on it as it is. A more likely scenario is an estate sale, at which a contractor could pick up a bargain on the land, build his spec house, and price it at slightly below market for a quick sale and a tidy profit.

For whatever its worth, if the house does go for big bucks it will help the other houses in the neighborhood hold their value in this still declining market.

The dr said it was becaue teh new prescription is slightly less strongtehn my old prescriptipo and that it will take a few days for my eyes to adjust - all I kow is that I couldn't read any tohe street signe when I was driving -

I'll give it a couple of days and if things don't improve I will have to bring them back -

I suppose I should wear my contacts and use the reading glasses today to see how they are

Last year, when the temperature dropped, I winterized my bed and slept horribly under too many blankets until late Oxtober. Not this year.

My apartment is beginning to look less chaotic, not as though a big slob lived here, but more like a poor housekeeper does. This morning, my plan is to go through the bookcases and take out more books for the Miami University Library. Then, at 2 pm, I am meeting Bruce Pomahac for the matinee of THE ROYAL FAMILY. I'm going to take a note backstage to Rosemary Harris to see if I can see her after the show; she was supposed to be at the McGlinn memorial but she didn't show on Friday. After the matinee, Bruce and I are having dinner and then I will toddle home to my newly tidied apartment.

We had a dinner and my aunt made the most delicious dessert (which i've never had before).

It was a chocolate trifle with chocolate mousse, strawberries, choc cake and whipped cream. It was so good.

My mom was a wonderful cook and an excellent baker. She had two desserts that she absolutely could not be topped on: cocoanut cake and Boston creme pie. Both of these were to-die-for desserts, but she didn't make them often because they were so rich and I suppose she feared we'd get tired of them. I'll never forget them, and I've never had either of them anywhere else that could remotely touch the taste of her desserts.

Post by: Matt H. on September 20, 2009, 07:19:54 AM: I am so thrilled to have today off. As I mentioned yesterday, I have two priorities: MISERY and ICE AGE 2, both on Blu-ray. MISERY is just for fun, but ICE AGE 2 is actually prepping me to review the upcoming release of ICE AGE 3 which is a Fox Blu-ray I'll be covering.

With whatever time is left today, I may hop back on my HD-DVD shelf and watch something on that format. I want to use that machine fairly often so any inside mechanism gets some workout and doesn't die due to negligence.

Will record the show on the DVR and then around 9:15 or so start at the beginning of the show and skim through to see who wins. It's three hours, and I don't want to sit there through acceptance speeches of celebrities I don't care about and endless commercials. I do want to see what Neil Patrick Harris does with the hosting chores since he was so effective at last year's Tony Awards.

Invited the neighbors over for Blueberry Pancakes, which I did indeed make from scratch (even separating my yolks from my whites) according to Grandma's handed-down unwritten recipe.
Now I have laundry washing in the laundry room.
I've separated the good photos from the bad photos from yesterday's excursion. I will probably go and get those good ones printed.
Though it is only nearing 2pm, I already feel as if I've put in full day's work.
Dixie Bell must feel the same for she is lying near the computer snoring away.

It mujst be all tied in together somehow, but I did have more ache and soreness on Friday and Saturday after PT than I had had since I started.

I agree completely. Those kinds of people are SUCH a drain on one's energy, and I'd rather just not be bothered.

Wonderful to see Bernie Kopell still acting and Dylan Baker as the other guest star played a pompous critic rather well. (Reminded me of the critic Dean Stockwell played in an episode of MURDER SHE WROTE.)

No bonus features on the Blu-ray at all, but also enclosed in the case is the regular DVD release with all of the bonus features.

Instead, I put in another NCIS episode so I could finish up with disc 1 for season 3. Ziva officially joins the team in this one and it's a good mystery involving a Union soldier dug up but one who had a cell phone in his casket.

It's absolutely glorious! I went backstage with Bruce Pomahac to see Rosemary Harris after the show, and she's absolutely wonderful as Fanny Cavendish, mother of the ~~Barrymore~~ Cavendish acting clan. Jan Maxwell plays the role Rosemary played 35 years ago on Broadway, namely Ethel Barrymore, who did not like her portrait in the comedy, although John enjoyed his alter ego Tony Cavendish. It is very well staged by Doug Hughes and acted in the grand manner by one and all in the large cast.

After that some wonderful salmon and roasted veggies at Orso. What a great way to end turning 63!

If I hadn't read online about the time jump, I'm not sure I'd have known until they talked about The Defenders.

Bill Cord mentioned to me that he keeps getting residuals for this film, but has no recollection of working on the picture. This afternoon I popped my DVD of it into the machine to see if I could find him and was suprised at what lousy picture quality it was, for one, and that it was not anamorphic!!

I notice on Amazon.com that it has been released at least 3 times on DVD, but none of them mention anamorphic....so I am hoping one of you DRs might know more. If there is one, I want to pick it up as I do rather like this film.

Yes, the last issue of SEVEN BRIDES was anamorphic. What's more, it contained both the Cinemascope and regular widescreen versions of the movie.

Yes, it's up for nominations in all of the major categories, and I believe I counted three of its episodes garnered nominations for writing.

Of course, as things turned out, there were a good many repeat winners from last year, but there were enough new faces to keep me watching down to the bitter end. All of the last four winners were repeats from last year.

Why they couldn't get someone who was actually funny when he was supposed to be is the question. This guy was just awful - unfunny, no charisma, and therefore no interest on my part.

She was given slightly more to do this season on 30 ROCK, but it's hard for her to compete with actresses who have much larger roles on their shows than she has on 30 ROCK. Kristin was lucky enough to be on an hour long show labeled a comedy and given a really big part of the forlorn, unrequited lover who got to sing as well as act.
