Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of mothers, and now it is time for you to post until the mother cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHEVRON!
-
Happy Mother's Day to All Mothers (and Mother-Equivalent Parental Units)!!
;D
-
Last night's show of The Brain From Planet X was Family Night. My parents came to the show and at least four other actors had parents in the audience! And Josh (our director/music director) had eight, count 'em EIGHT family members! AND we had a great audience! We had about 2/3rds filled, but they were great!
-
Today, we have a matinee, the we're off until Wednesday's Pay-What-You-Can performance. That should bring in a LOT of people.
-
After today's matinee, I'm going to my parents' house for Mother's Day. The whole family will be gathering. I didn't know what to get my mom and I really didn't have much time to even look for anything, so when my dad called to say that they were coming to last night's show, I said that I'd buy them the tickets for Mother's Day! My mom liked the idea, so I did. :)
-
I watched a bit of Betty White's SNL and was completely enjoying it! I did turn off the TV (but not my DVR, which WAS recording it!), and will now go to sleep. I'll watch the whole thing later. I may even burn a DVD of it...we'll see if I like it that much. :D
-
Good night. 8)
-
Good morning, all! I have a long day of OZ to finish so I can get it into the post tomorrow. My last song is "Must You?" for the Tin Woodman. Yesterday, I finished the dance for "Football" for the Tin Woodman and the Sacarecrow, around six, did some sketching on the printed music for "Must You?" and spent the evening watching tv. A member of the cast recording list sent around a link to a download of the BBC Radio's Frank Loesser evening conducted by Larry Blank, so I listened to a bit of that before I turned on the tv.
I also packed up the three Netflix discs that have been sitting here for over a month and I will return them tomorrow morning. I had remembered setting them aside from a pile of clutter, but then I forgot where I put them. I lost an hour yesterday afternoon looking for the damned things.
I've been reading Tab Hunter's biography, and I have a couple of chapters to go. Then I will begin Mr Kimmel's tome., which I am very much looking forward to.
-
Good moming all! Thank you for the mother's day wishes - and Happy Mothers' Day to all you other Moms out there!
-
Yesterday teh forecast was for thunderstorms but instead we got a beautifully sunny - if extremely windy- day - so I spent the day gardening -
-
Happiest of Mother's Days to those HHW'ers to whom it applies.
-
I forgot to watch SNL last night! Darn. Oh well....it will probably be rerun next month, or turned into a prime time special later this week.
-
DR JMK - if you're not going to accept the lease - dig up St Joseph and plant him closer to the house near a tree or bush.....on the night of the new moon.....Thursday.
-
Happy Mother's Day to everybody who might fit into that category...and to the mothers of you who don't.
-
The Vixter mowed the lawn. She saw a movement in the grass and stopped the mower in time to avoid hitting this little guy
-
Happy Mother's Day!
-
I was so tired last night i did not make it up for any of Betty White. But i did record it and started watching it this morning.
-
Yesterday was busy. My niece and i baked banana breads for our respective mothers. Then she and I decided to make ourselves mini strawberry banana loaves (that is what we like). And we said, "happy mother's day to us". And then both started cracking up.
This kid is so bright for her age.
-
Yesterday afternoon was the season finale (here) of PROJECT RUNWAY. This is the only mainstream tv show that she is allowed to watch. She made posters for all of the contestants. And we watched together cheering and screaming at the end.
-
Today we are supposed to be having waffles. The weather is awful. It is really cold (i think a high of like 6C, which is like 40F). And it is going to be rainy and gross. :(
-
And now off to work
-
And tonight is the finale of THE AMAZING RACE! It should be interesting. I hope it is a close one. I know the team i've grown fond of is a big nonfavorite amongst most people. Obviously anybody can win in a race like this. Although i sort of hope that one team does not win (since i don't find them physically or mentally very strong).
-
vixmom and vixter - Thanks for the lovely "50th birthday year" thoughts!
-
Happiest of Mother's Days to those HHW'ers to whom it applies.
Ditto from me!
I've scored 4 bars of the refrain this morning, but it's a chore; the tune isn't very good and the lyrics, even by the standards of 1902, are poor. I believe the other two songs - especially "Football," which is quite funny - are much better. The hardest part on a song like this is trying to keep it sounding like the orchestration was written in 1902 and fighting the urge to let the scoring get busy because you're trying to make it sound more interesting than it.
-
Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. And to all the aunts who act as mothers. And to any dads who are raising children without a mother.

FJL, shorthand would be helpful for you until your wrist heals. Assuming we could all read it.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THAT CELEBRATE THIS SPECIAL DAY

Good morning!
It got really cool during the night, and I REALLY enjoyed my walk this morning. Very cool, but temps start warming up tomorrow morning.
-
Happy Mothers' Day for all it apllies to!
-
Page Two Dance!!!
-
I'll be working on the Blu-ray of STAGECOACH for my work project today. Should be an easy day for me.
-
I'll have the CASTLE rerun from last night and FLASHFORWARD to choose from as I eat lunch.
-
I think tonight, I may fire up my HD-DVD machine and rewatch ELIZABETH.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And...

Thank you to all for the Mother's Day wishes.

Happy Mothers Day!

Question. Seriously.
Is it singular "Mother's" or plural "Mothers'" Day?
Either way, I wish everyone who is one, or would like to become one, a HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
-
When I was 15, I wrote a musical set in a 1920s speakeasy, and the plot called for a character to sit down at the piano and sing a very sentimental song:
Oh what a lovely pal was Mother
Who would always care for me so well.
I know I can never find another
Who could be half as swell.
My mother helped to dress me
When I was just a tot
When I'd sneeze, she'd always bless me.
Ungrateful to her, I'm not!
My mother is my favorite member
Of our fine family
So, you always should remember:
Without mothers, where would we be?
-
Yes the TAR finale is tonight!
-
Happy Mother's Day!
-
I'm up, I'm up. Had a good night's sleep but didn't sleep quite as late as I'd hoped - still nine hours is good.
-
Happy Mother's Day to my mother and Mothers Day to all my mothers and the rest of the mothers out there

Happy Mother's Day to all mother's, including those with furry children, to special aunts & in tribute to our mother's.

Cilla, I posted my greeting before reading-looks like we are on the same page of thought.

Good morning DR Jane!
-
I'm thinking about going to New York later this summer. Maybe not until August. It's hot then, but aren't there lots of good deals?
-
I'm feeling really queasy this morning. Not sure what that's about, but am hoping it isn't what I ate last night. I did get through the night fine, and I certainly wasn't queasy the one time I awoke during the night to use the restroom.
-
! ! ! ! ! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOTHERS OUT THERE ! ! ! ! !
-
Got back in bed for thirty minutes. Then I got up and a wave of nausea hit me so hard I thought I was going to vomit on the ground. I got to the bathroom quickly, but only was able to, I think they call it dry heave. And that's where we are thus far. Not good. I may have my friend go to the art fair alone, and I may go get some Tums (smut, spelled backwards).
-
Bruce, hope you feel better. It could have been what you ate, which is digested & why you only dry heaved. I don't know why Tums would help this, but then Tums never agree with me.
-
Sherlock is such a smart boy. Before I got up this morning he set up his own email account & sent me a cute Mother's Day card. In the card he said he would clean all the dishes today :)
-
Yeah, I'm thinking Tums would be stupid. I'll just have to ride it out, I guess. My equilibrium is off and I just feel rather dreadful. Hopefully it will pass quickly.
-

Sounds to me like you caught something on the plane.
-
I don't think it was from the plane - I think it was from dinner last night.
-
Blechhh.
-
And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
-
BK: Ice water. Even if you can't stand the thought of drinking it, drink it. Cold water can only help you. Lack of it can only hurt.
-
I don't think it was from the plane - I think it was from dinner last night.
I agree. It sounds like the same thing I had awhile back. I was lucky I heaved during the night & then slept & was better by morning-not great, just better.
-
Noel, interesting about ice vs regular water. I'll have to remember that as regular makes me feel worse.
-
I'll try some cold water now.
-
My friend was here and just left for the art fair. I'm really not feeling well - been drinking cold water but it isn't really helping anything.
-
Vibes for BK. ~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know that tums would help. To me that is only for an upset stomach.
-
I still also have this week's AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL to watch.
Although my nieces are still here (baby is sleeping and the other one is playing dollhouse).
-
I forget if i asked this, but has anybody here ever seen CALIFORNICATION? Is it any good? Does it sound like something i might like?
I recorded the first few episodes (it just started here). But i haven't watched it yet. Not even sure if it is my cup of tea.
-
DR Jane i watched the MILLENIUM 2 movie last night. It is very graphic (as was the first one). This is my least favorite part about the movies, although it's probably necessary.
I don't know where they found these swedish actors. But i have never seen more people would huge pores, pock marks on their skin and just the wost skin i've ever seen on film.
But at least now i will remember everything clearly before book 3 comes out.
-
Vibes for BK.
And Happy's Mother's Day to all.
-
Still catching up on sleep. Slept until 2 and discovered someone had hacked into my e-mail. Ugh.
-
I've been lying on the couch like so much fish, which is helpful - watching a bad movie and dozing on and off.
-
Mother's Day greetings! We had an uneventful trip to Lima today and are glad to be home.
-
BK - I hope you feel better soon!
-
I had some nice viewing experiences this afternoon. I began with watching the last of the Tommy and Tuppence mysteries from the first colume of PARTNERS IN CRIME. An easy mystery to solve, as are all of the T&T adventures, it was nice to see it again. I don't think I have seen these programs since their first telecast on PBS back in the early 1980s.
-
I saw the pilot episode of CALIFORNICATION. I couldn't stand it and have never watched another one. I have no idea if you would like it or not, DR Jennifer.
-
As I ate lunch, I watched last night's rebroadcast of NCIS' second episode of the season where Ziva is allowed to rejoin the unit. A good episode. I particularly liked Abby's tough love.
-
Then I watched the blu-ray of STAGECOACH. The good parts look really good though, of course, the higher definition makes the rear projection all the more noticeable; it also makes the scratches and artifacts stand out, too. Criterion doesn't windowbox their Blu-rays like they do Academy ratio DVDs, so that was nice.
The PCM uncompressed sound is a trifle less hissy but only a trifle.
-
I started where I left off with the commentary and listened to the rest of it. Really quite interesting reads on the film from a variety of commentators over the years, all acknowledged by Kitses. He also quotes all of the nsalaries earned by the major cast members. All those fees probably sounded grand to the folks of 1939 just coming out of the Depression, but they sound very small now.
-
All of the bonus featurettes were in HD, either 1080i or 1080p. This has become pretty much the standard for Criterion's Blu-rays now.
-
Didn't have enough time to watch a TV show or movie, so I put in the Olympics and watched Mao Asada's silver medal-winning performance as well as Rachael Flatt's wonderful skate which got criminally undervalued.
-
Hello, everyone.
Happy Mother's Day to Everyone! There! Have a nice day in any case.
-
Sorry you're not feeling well, Bruce. I'd guess that a day of R&R is much needed.
-
Congrats to all involved in the Olympia/TAO Brain. It sounds like the PNW HHW get-together was great fun. Thanks for posting the pics, George.
-
Belated birthday wishes for Danise.
-
Returned from Indiana today to still not find my Bruce Kimmel Autobiography. Boo-hoo. Perhaps, Monday.
-
Happy Mothers Day to Jeanne the cat

When I have a queasy stomach, I sip Diet Coke. I absolutely cannot drink water when I feel nauseous.
-
Now I'm going to write a little bit. Then I'll head down to clean the guest bath, put away the already folded laundry, and then head back into the den to watch ELIZABETH on HD-DVD and then FLASHFORWARD and THE OFFICE (if I can fit it in).

I heard room temperature coca cola will settle your stomach. I've never tried it. My mom used to give us 7-up

When I subscribed to Showtime, I never missed an episode of CALIFORNICATION.
But, I am one of the biggest fans of David Duchovny's work.
That said, CALIFORNICATION is full of agreeable actors playing very disagreeable characters. The humor is dark, very dark indeed. I liked the pilot and all of the first season, somewhere during the second season, I unsubscribed to Showtime and opted for HBO instead. That decision had nothing to do with CALIFORNICATION.
If you're a Duchovny fan, you might be able to tolerate his character, and that of Evan Holder. Though they are both rather despicable, their charisma carried a lot of weight with me.
-
I must be hungry. I read "Abby's tough love" in Matt's post, and I saw it as "Arby's tough love." Yikes!
Too light a lunch, I guess.
-
feel better, bruce!
-
Hope you're feeling better, Bruce.
I'm having a Kritzerland afternoon--I've got Kevin Spirtas's DVD on while I'm reading BK's book--I'm really enjoying both!

The OZ piece is finished and I want a nap. Unfortunately, I have this table covered in unidentified McGlinn CDs, so I have to work.
-
Pogue, I mentioned (probably here) that I was sending you a package - was waiting on CDs to arrive.
-
Just finished "Princess and the Frog." Charming. But the score seemed a bit thin. I can see why all my friends in New Orleans loved the movie though. There's a feeling of pre-Katrina magic sprinkled throughout.
-
I'm feeling a bit less nauseous right now - I think just being calmly stretched out on the couch and snoozing occasionally is helping. Don't know if I'll be up for eating anything today or this evening, however. We shall see.
-

It's well done, but I think it's one of those series that should have ended after one season.
I like stories that have a beginning, a middle and an end.

Neither Daily Variety nor The Hollywood Reporter really liked the new Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe ROBIN HOOD.
:P
Oh, for the days of Errol Flynn.

I don't know if you would like it. I'm surprised I did. We liked season 1 & then I didn't want to watch it again. It seemed like a good ending to the show & I wanted to leave it at that.
-
When I have a queasy stomach, I sip Diet Coke. I absolutely cannot drink water when I feel nauseous.
I've been told coke should be flat. I prefer seven up, only one sip each 10 or 15 minutes, too much of coke or 7 Up and make you feel worse.

Thank you for the photos DR TCB. I especially enjoyed the one of Ann & MBarnum.

Still not feeling great. It's weird to feel queasy and hungry but that's how I feel right now.
-
Just read that Iron Man II purportedly did 133,000,000 on its opening weekend. I think is a total load of horse manure and yet another lie perpetrated by the insane people who run studios. It's been getting worse and worse and some fine day someone's going to find out the truth and expose this insanity.
It may happen sooner than later because the creative team of the film of Chicago has sued over alleged profits they have not been paid based on the reported gross of the film. IF the studio does not settle (which they will to avoid a trial that will expose exactly what I'm talking about), what will be uncovered is that the film did not, in fact, gross anywhere near what was reported and that it was all a sham. And Chicago is hardly the only example. I hope they don't settle, because it's about time the public found out about this crap. But they'll find a way to settle, mark my words.

Well, in the incredible but true department, we have had probably 18 responses to our "for rent" CL ad. The Phoenix couple just called and want to sign today, period. We're just laughing about it all. So now I need to find an online renter's application plus figure out where to do the background check. Any recommendations?

Thanks. Me too.

I've been away from the computer for a while, eating the Mother's Day supper that DS Rob prepared for me - popcorn and cheese. Yum!

Great photo of DRs Ann and MBarnum!

DR TCB, thanks for the photos!
My friend Chris just left after setting up my new LaCie backup hard drive. I managed to do in the last one while I was trying to empty some of its cache. Chris says it's still usable but this new one has a trillion gigs or more, so I am very happy at the moment. I spent some time over dinner pondering my last OZ chart and I think I need to rewrite a bar or two tonight.

How do you know the amounts are false. I'm not doubting you, only curious.

Cute card DR MBarnum, & it makes me doubly happy my hubby cooked today & served me. :) He made blueberry buttermilk pancakes-yum.
-
For mother's day I mowed the lawn and then planned to just flop around the house (my mom went to Medford for the weekend). Instead my sister Sue called and we went up to Tigard to see little Benny play flag footbal, which his dad (my nephew) is coaching.
Benny (who is five years old), it seems, has little or no interest in football. Most of the time he was picking flowers or laying on the ground. It was rather amusing. He does not like having the ball as he does not want anyone taking his flags. He later told my sister (his grandma) that he did not like football, and frankly I don't blame him!
Benny's dad was, and is, quite the sportsman, but I think Benny will be more cerebral and is likely to grow up to be a technical geek.

I didn't say that.....or did I? ;D
-
I see the photos I tried to attach earlier didn't attach - I will have to figure out how to do it-
-
sorry for my sudden departure this morning but I suddenly realized that it was time for church and I had to leave THAT second - so I did
-
On Mother's Day, the men of our church make pancakes for the Moms - this time in addition the the usual buttermilk there were also blueberry pancakes! (I had three- but they were small)

As much as I'd love to stay and chat, this morning's 5:30 wake-up call just caught up with me - 'night!

I knew him. Mr Wrangler was a very nice gentleman!
-
we also have our annual flower/plant sale on Mother's Day - I bought 3 flats of impatiens in mixed shades of pink for my garden, as well as a flat of coral impatiens for my Mom's garden - I also bought a nice plant arrangement for Mom, some cherry tomato plants and a flat of these

I have no idea what they are called
-
dang it - still can't post my other photo - it is too big and I can't figure out how to resize it on ths new computer-
-
I'm sorry Vixmom cuz your first photo is beautiful.
-
anyway it was a picture of anncredibly tiny baby bunny - it's lttle ears were about the size of my pinky nail
the Vixter saw it moving in the grass as she was mowing the grass and stopped the mower jut in time. We put it in a cardboard box filled with shredded paper and it promptly buried itself and went to sleep
then the Vixter went back to mowing and 30 seconds later she was back with another one! It too weet into the box and it too buried itself and went to sleep
-
What are you doing with the baby bunnies?
-
Still not feeling great. It's weird to feel queasy and hungry but that's how I feel right now.
Ginger is always good for nausea/queasiness. Room temp ginger ale or some ginger tea, maybe.
-
We went to investigate the front lawn and discovered a rabbit hole had been dug down and cleverly concealed with a "door" of matted grass clippings - when the Vixter lifted it she could see more baby bunnies all cuddled up sleeping together
So the Vixter called her cousin in Canada - she is taking a course in animal husbandry up in Saskatoon - for advice - We were concerned that since she handled the babies that thei mother would reject them - but we were assured that they wouldbe welcomed home - so the vixter brought them back the hole and gently put them, one at a time, back down - they pushed their way in amongst their siblings and the Vixter put the grass 'door' back to keep them snug and hidden
-
I'm sorry Vixmom cuz your first photo is beautiful.
thanks - but I borrowed it from another website

Because that amount of money is totally outrageous for a weekend. But they had to come close to Avatar - that's the new game now. And frankly, I'd love to know if the Avatar profit participants have received one single penny in profit. One certainly would have thought that the Chicago people would have, and yet, they have not.
-
I've been mostly lying on the couch, dozing on and off and I'm sure that's helped. I have nothing in the house but water and Diet Coke. Ginger Ale sounds good, actually, but I don't know if I want to get in the car and go somewhere to find it.
-
Happy Mother's Day.

Thank you John G.
I have the movie, will watch it tonight. Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire.

What a great ending.
-
Dear Vixmon, I planted the same plants yesterday, and already forgot their name.
-
After church we went by my Mom's to deliver her flowers and cards - my brother and his wife were there and they invited us to go out for breakfast with them all - so we all met at the local diner for alovely breakfast - the diner manager came by and gave all the ladies carnations -
my brother and his wife brought my folks home and teh Vixfamily returend to our home.
I planted two flats of impatiens while the Vixter and Vixdad put together our new lawn swing
-
Thank you John G.
I have the movie, will watch it tonight. Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire.
Best song in the movie is "Too Late Now," which BK has produced on at least two recordings, as I recall. My favorite is on Brent Barrett's Alan Jay Lerner album.
-
When I got my Sunday chores finished, I went in and rewatched ELIZABETH on HD-DVD. The history is all out of whack, and yet due to the wonderful cast, I enjoy coming back to this movie from time to time. It has a Dolby True HD audio track, so I see no reason to get the Blu-ray version.
-
Listened to bk's rare tracks twice. Favorite songs are #15 and #26.
-
we also have our annual flower/plant sale on Mother's Day - I bought 3 flats of impatiens in mixed shades of pink for my garden, as well as a flat of coral impatiens for my Mom's garden - I also bought a nice plant arrangement for Mom, some cherry tomato plants and a flat of these

I have no idea what they are called
I think they're called Sweet William (or Sweet William's or Sweet Williams).
-
I am going to try again
-
SUCCESS!!
-
I am so sorry that you have been feeling unwell, BK
-
Just read that Iron Man II purportedly did 133,000,000 on its opening weekend. I think is a total load of horse manure and yet another lie perpetrated by the insane people who run studios. It's been getting worse and worse and some fine day someone's going to find out the truth and expose this insanity.
How do you know the amounts are false. I'm not doubting you, only curious.
Because that amount of money is totally outrageous for a weekend. But they had to come close to Avatar - that's the new game now. And frankly, I'd love to know if the Avatar profit participants have received one single penny in profit. One certainly would have thought that the Chicago people would have, and yet, they have not.
bk, AVATAR doesn't hold the record for the biggest first weekend. There was a gigantic blizzard though much of the country the weekend it opened, and AVATAR didn't even clear $100 million if I'm remembering correctly. It's broken all kinds of other records, but that's not one of them, I don't think.
-
Now listening to Peggy Lee. Then will listen to Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.
Very very windy here today in Ventura.
-
Oh my word! What a tiny bunny! I'm so glad she saw it in time.
-
Since I gave the first two hours of the evening over to HD-DVD, I HAD to give Blu-ray equal time, so I pulled THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN on Blu-ray off the shelf and rewatched that. The last time I watched this, I was reviewing it, so it was nice this time to just sit back and relax without a pen and pad in my lap.
-
As unbelievable as it may seem, the Phoenix couple are (is?) overnighting me close to $5K to cover first/last, various deposits and a background check fee. Hey, landlord! (Who remembers that old show?).
-
I think we call that flower "cock's comb" or Celosia
-
I'm thinking I'll take the day off tomorrow since it's likely to be the last one for quite some time. Fox/MGM has a large release slate for this week, so once they come in, I'm going to be very busy indeed. I still have BY BRAKRAGE on Blu-ray from Criterion, but it doesn't come out until the 25th, so I can postpone it until I mfinish Fox's release slate for the week.
-
Out here, JMK, we'd be really suspicious of that. We'd worry about the renter using the place as a drophouse.

I've already done enough preliminary Googling to confirm she's a recruiter for Microsoft and he's an SMU professor working on his doctorate.

I've been mostly lying on the couch, dozing on and off and I'm sure that's helped. I have nothing in the house but water and Diet Coke. Ginger Ale sounds good, actually, but I don't know if I want to get in the car and go somewhere to find it.
Then let the coke sit out & go flat, then have a sip every so often, see if it helps. I don't suggest going anywhere. I bet you feel much better tomorrow.
-
and one more
-
This weekend was the first time in at least 10 years I missed the arts and crafts fair near bk. They have it again in October. Will go then. Have bought many things, my favorite being 10 watercolor scenes of Haiti.
-
I am going to try again
:) The photos are sweet-thanks.
-
Good work, JMK.
-
JMK I am really happy that the rental seems to be workingout so well for you!
-
So Laura, who DOES cook for you?
-
I want a bunny. Or a kitty. But, am not home enough for a pet. Unless it was a pair.
Yard work is finished, later this year the house will be painted and a new front porch and fence will be renovated, so I can wait till that is done to do anything else.
Now I have to seriously concentrate on emptying out the storage locker down the street, rent is up May 31st. I can move from a 10x10' to a 5x5' space if I need to.
-
Goodnight everyone.
;D
-
I think we call that flower "cock's comb" or Celosia
that's it!
thank you Laura!!
-
Great bunny pix, Vixmom.
-
TO A WONDERFUL HEALTHY HAPPY WEEK FOR EVERYONE.
:)
-
I'm heading downstairs and going to bed.
Good night!

"Who cooks for you?" is the call of the white winged dove that comes to Arizona for the summer.
-
the Vixter wrote her own mothers' day card for me:
"What can I say...except for what you already know -
your love and compassion
have nutured me to grow.
Like the flowers in your garden,
when you get them weak and small
every year you do your best
to make them wonderful, one and all.
In the same way you raised me up
from a tiny baby seed
and every day you gave the gift
of Mother's love to me.
So I want it known I love you
more than I can ever say -
and at this point I'd like to wish you
Happy Mothers' Day!"
It may not scan perfecty but it made me cry anyway

:D
-
Aww, that's very sweet, Vixmom.
-
When I have a queasy stomach, I sip Diet Coke. I absolutely cannot drink water when I feel nauseous.
I've been told coke should be flat. I prefer seven up, only one sip each 10 or 15 minutes, too much of coke or 7 Up and make you feel worse.
I thought it was ginger ale that you are supposed to drink when you feel sick.

I forget if i asked this, but has anybody here ever seen CALIFORNICATION? Is it any good? Does it sound like something i might like?
I recorded the first few episodes (it just started here). But i haven't watched it yet. Not even sure if it is my cup of tea.
I don't really like Duchovny. And i'm not really a fan of despicable characters. I'll probably try it out since i've already recorded it. Interesting that DR Jane liked it but DR MattH did not.
-
If you haven't seen it yet, BlueGobo has posted a scene from the original Pacific Overtures on its site. This is what the Tonys used to be, a number not afraid to be 7 minutes long, filmed with care by cameramen who seemed to know what should be shown and how.

vixmom and vixter - scans great, i think! Just lovely.
-
Cute bunny photos.
-
And great mother's day card.

Last night the Vixter treated me to a local production of "13" - the lead was played by one of her classmates
it was a tiny blackbox theatre and the cast was really very good
the audience however.....
The lady in front of me - a grown woman at least in her late forties and probably the mother of one of the cast members, spent almost the entire second act texting on her phone - I had to keep holding my program up to block the light from distracting me
a teenage girl in the front row ( and mind you - the front row in this theatre is level with the stage and not more than a foot from the actors) got up to dispose of her trash, not once,not twice but THRICE while the actors valiantly tried to pretend that some idiot was not standing up in front of them and strolling between them and the audience to drop some trash in the garbage pail and then stroll on back
then there was the little girl in the front row who decided to put on her white sweatshirt during the finale - holding it and her arms over her head while slowly wrigglinginto it - she at least had an excuse - she was only about 7 years old - but her idiot mother sat next to her and didn't assist her or stop her
It really was a crying shame. The kids on stage were really giving it their all and they were very good. They deserved a better audience
-
Pogue, I mentioned (probably here) that I was sending you a package - was waiting on CDs to arrive.
Ooooo! Goody!

They behave worse at the movies and nobody seems to want to do anything about it. Is there anything that can be done about it, other than asking people to leave?

Stupid rude audience members- can't live with them and not allowed to shoot them...
-
maybe I am turning into a crotchety old woman but my hands itched to snatch that woman's phone away and to tel lher "you'll get this back when you learn how to use it appropiately"
I wanted to take that nitwit teenager by the hair and throw her bodily from the theatre
and the 7 year old? - Someone needed to take her sweatshirt from her and whisper "just wait 2 minutes honey it's almost over"
-
I do not understand why anybody would spend $20 to sit in a theatre and text message - the entire time- save the $20 and stay homeand text!
If it is truly an emergency - leave the theatre!!!
It is the apparent complete lackl of awareness that gets me - all these people are wandering around the world in their own little bubbles - compleetly unaware - or perhaps simply unconcerned - with the impact their actions have on other people
-
Is this a New York thing or are people as rude and ignorant as this everywhere?

It's not a New York thing...people are just as rude and stupid everywhere. :P
-
Is this a New York thing or are people as rude and ignorant as this everywhere?
I believe I posted about my theater neighbors the last time I went to the theater.
-
Got back in bed for thirty minutes.
~~~Feel Better Vibes for BK!!~~~
-
Congrats to all involved in the Olympia/TAO Brain. It sounds like the PNW HHW get-together was great fun. Thanks for posting the pics, George.
Thanks Jeanne and you're welcome!
-
I just received this from a friend...
while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off thefloor and make clockwise circles.
Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.
Your foot will change direction.
There's nothing you can do about it!
oh gosh yes, how could I forget?
R.I.P. Lena Horne
:(
-
Wow, Lena Horne was still alive? I always loved her voice.
-
I've written the notes and will probably post them at ten and go to bed. I still feel pretty wretched.
-
bk - I hope you feel better after a good night's sleep. -Which is probably all you really need to get well.
-
As for me, I'm feeling well, but I'm also feeling very tired. 'Twas a long day for me.
But before I go...
-
DRs vixmom & the vixter - Cute Bunnies!
That figure could actually be true - or almost true - since the price for a 3-D movie went up in most markets a couple of weeks ago. But... We shall see...
-
DR MBarnum - So.... Do you consider yourself a "technical geek"? ;)
-
DR Jennifer - "Californication" is just starting up there in Canada?!?!? It started on Showtime back in 2007. -Although, it seems like it's been around longer. Then, again, I guess I'm thinking of David Duchovny's other series, "Red Shoe Diaries".
