Happy Birthday, Druxy!
Saturday morning greetings! Sorry to be so E & T yesterday. Had some major work to do on our 2 upstairs rooms because my cousin, his wife, and their son (age 9) and daughter (age 7) are on their way from Pittsburgh for an overnight visit. They live in Japan and are in Pittsburgh visiting and tending to his elderly father. They have him settled for now and the weather's clear. We're very excited to see them!
Happiest of birthdays to DR Druxy!
Good morning to all!

Happy Birthday DR DRUXY
Prayers and vibes request for a good friend of mine from church. Her name is Dolores and she's in her late 80s. Absolutely wonderful lady with a sharp tongue, just when it's needed most, a fantastic pinochle player and she always has a free moment to help anyone in need. She apparently fell this morning when she went out to get her paper. It seems as though she has broken her hip and possibly her hand.
After reading through my liner notes for A Time for Singing in the booklet itself, I wasn't happy with the way they read. I was trying to incorporate all the Shani Wallis stuff within the notes, but it was too schizo - so I restructured them and put all the Shani reminiscences into their own section - now we get all the show history by itself and then Shani's memories of it - much better.

Wonderful idea, BK!
I am a posting this here because some people might know who Jason Graae is.
He was performing at Wisconsin Lutheran College and he was selling his css. One of the produced by BK was slightly censored. I think it would have made people more interested to see what was underneath.

Hilarious!
No, I didn't have it at all - gone long ago. I was alerted to it through classmates - a company does these reprints and they're very nice.
I am home from seeing The Mystery of Edwin Drood, thanks to the kindly offer of a ticket from DR Cillaliz. I had seen the original production twice, so I didn't particularly plan on catching this one, but I am very glad I did. It was quite wonderful and a lot of fun. There were a large number of understudies tonight, so I didn't see Chita Rivera, Will Chase, or Peter Benson. but I saw three excellent performances by Alison Cimmet, Spencer Plachy, and my old friend Nick Corley, as well as my Finian, the wonderful Jim Norton, as the Chairman. Our Finian's Rainbow director Warren Carlisle choreographed this production quite nicely. The scenery was amazing, and I liked a lot of William Ivey Long's costues, except for some with out-of-control bustles that looked cheap and silly rather than period.
We had a damned fine opening night.
No doubt I am the last person on earth who didn't already know this, but I can now say that REAR WINDOW is one heck of an enjoyable film.
Those post it notes are funny. I'm sure DR Laura will like it. :)

Ah, But Underneath (a Sondheim reference)
I spent the day at the monarch butterfly booth at the nature festival today. Luckily I had a butterfly, chrysalis, and caterpillar to take along.Nice. Any photos?
The Fort Wayne Civic Theater's travel agent just booked my plane reservations for May-June.
Getting there from Austin is not easy.
Actually getting just about anywhere from Austin is not easy.
On the way there, I go through Atlanta, then on the way back, I go through Detroit.
San Antonio is the same. Almost always a detour on the way to where you want to go.
Lol, try getting somewhere from Sioux City!!
Whenever we go to Fort Wayne, we fly to Indianapolis and rent a car.

DR Jane re: my sore shoulders. I have pulled my nieces before and they have not hurt. And this time I was pulling the lighter one.
I'm feeling a bit of something in my chest. So i hope I don't get a cough.
Was going to watch THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH last night, but the DVD from Netflix was broken in two...so, sending it back, hopefully to receive a working disc...otherwise, next film on my queue is BLACK SAMURAI.

DR Jane, Callie and Boo are on the new cat tree they got for Christmas. You asked for a photo a long time ago and I don't think I ever sent one. Callie sat like that for the longest time, it cracked me up
Cousins arrived from Pittsburgh about 90 minutes ago, regrouped, and are now visiting my Mom. Rob and Mary Linda are on their way from Cincinnati and when everyone gets here we'll order pizza. ML is bringing a salad and I've made 2 pies, apple and pecan.

Having seen FLIGHT I suggest you stay home.
Yes. The butterfly was tagged and placed on a daisy, where he nectared for a few minutes before taking off. The others are back in their cages (so I can tag them when it is their turn).

The papers on the table are reproductions of the Second Innaugural Address, the Gettysburg address and the Emancipation Declaration, the photos are reproductions of Lincoln alone, one with his son Tad, one with General McClennan and one with some Union soldiers
The 2nd photo is great as well. Is that Vixdad in the middle?
Aww, I wasn't paying attention to his height. How I missed that I don't know-lol

I'm very impressed with the decorating.
I could use some chili.
Great pictures, DR vixmom.
All I had was this leftover
(get ready for it)
cheeseburger egg roll from Stew Leonard's.
I'm not recommending it.
But it did the job.
Didn't keep my mind fully from Dolores, though. I spoke with her son, who said she didn't actually break her hip. She dislocated it in a way that''s actually worse. It will require surgery, but the surgery is so intensive that they may not perform it on her because of her age. The decision will be made tomorrow. In the meantime, she's on painkillers that seem to be working their magic.
Great photos from the chili cookoff, Vixmom. And I think you did best by cooking something you wanted to eat. That's the best cooking of all.
DR Vixmom, your chili festivities look like a lot of fun! Your chili sounds good and you and The Vixter look beautiful.
