Well, you've read the notes, the notes like the time were a changin', and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - the cows are a changin', too.

Topic of the Day:

Set to record on my DVR:  "Top Banana" with Phil Silvers...it's going to be on TCM today at 7:00 pm.

To be seen at the movie theater:  "Star Trek Into Darkness: An IMAX 3-D Experience"!  Several friends are going. I bought my ticket on-line and paid the extra $2, just to make sure that I have an actual ticket.  When we went to see "Les Misérables" on Christmas Day, my friends Chris and Heather (who instigated the whole thing) got there too late to get a ticket!  They were "sold out."  HOWEVER, there were plenty of seats, so they just bought a ticket to a different movie (for the same price) and came into the Les Miz theater.  There was still plenty of room.

Good morning, all!  I slept late. the only things on my agenda today are the laundry and a trip to the post office. With ROBERTA pretty much finished until the week in June when we print and tape the orchestra parts, I have little work  on my plate and little to do. I gave a copy of the new score to Bruce Pomahac yesterday morning, and he sent he a list of errors he found looking through it yesterday. I found a vocal error that my original proofreader had missed and that I missed on a second pass. It's endless.

So, I have laundry, which I'll begin very shortly. While the laundry is in the dryers, I'll make my post office trip. I need ti tdy and clean the apartment as well. I have corrections to make in my liner notes from looking over the DEAREST ENEMY archive at Rodgers & Hammerstein.

Tomorrow I will get up early (what else is new) but after that I will head to midtown and sit in front of the Music Box Theatre to get a $37 Rush ticket for Saturday afternoon performance of Pippin.

I was creative with the Internet and finally found a full copy of Star Without Light (Étoile sans Lumière) on Youtube (the movie is in pieces on Youtube with subtitles but we didn't want to download pieces and stitch them together) The movie is in French without subtitles but it's a decent copy and after some searching around I found a subtitle file (.srt) for the movie and I also found a program which will embed (hard code) the .srt file into the movie. After work I will burn the movie to a disc and we will finally see it. We saw a clip of it in 2011 when Anthony's mother had recorded something for him from Turner. It was just a short clip but we were intrigued enough to see if Turner would show it again. No luck with that but perseverance pays off and 2 years later we can see what has been something of a search. Mission Accomplished.

Good morning, all.

Getting lazy enjoying time with the folks. We play dominos and watch "Jeopardy," eat and talk. Yesterday we went to see "42," which was a lot of fun. If they want to go back to the movies, we may try to take in "Oz." I know they won't like much of the violent flicks out there or the franchises, such as "Star Trek" that they don't really know. And I also don't think they'd like the kids movies like "The Croods," which are too disrespectful. So it limits things.

Will catch up with everyone later and all the postings later. Vibes for all in need.

Update on Dana Sweazy:

Moncks Corner police arrest two, search for runaway teen
By Live 5 News Web Staff

Moncks Corner police have arrested two men and are looking for a runaway teen.

Authorities are looking for 15-year-old Dana Sweazy who was last known to be staying at a mobile home on 1820 Highway 17-A in Moncks Corner on Friday. Police say 17-year-old Collin Jenkins and 20-year-old Trevhon Brown picked Sweazy up from Berkeley High School on Thursday.

When police asked Jenkins and Brown where they took her, they first told police they took Sweazy to the Fox Bank neighborhood, before later admitting they had taken her to the mobile home. Police then went to the mobile home where they found clothes appearing to belong to Sweazy, but she had already left.

Police arrested the duo and charged them with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstruction of justice.

Sweazy stands 4'11" tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

If you have any information on her whereabouts, you are asked to call police at (843) 719-7930 or 911.

Here's a test to see if you can actually embed the video within a post by using the share link on You Tube.  IF the video appears here, it still actually plays via You Tube.  Here we go:

http://youtu.be/1TrLCtLde_E

I was able to watch the video.

Then I guess it didn't work, however, I am very happy for the video to be separate from the posts.

Keith made a delicious dinner except for the raunchy tofu we had to pick out and trash.  No tofu jokes please, I'm hoping we don't get sick from it. :(

Hi everyone.  Today has been non-stop.  Sitting here in Peets working on the Power Points for church this weekend.  Feeling pretty good about stuff.  I paid my move in rent just now, so tomorrow I get my keys and it all begins.

We don't get ME TV but then we don't have cable either. Some over the air broadcast stations have picked it up but none in range of a New York City antenna.

I've been listening to the Original Cast Recording of Sugar.  I understand it will be performed in Sacramento in July, starring HHW fave Jason Graae and some other guy named Brett Barnett or something like that.

It's kind of a remake of an existing Star Trek story...since this is a rebooted storyline.  I don't know how much anyone knows, so I won't post what it is, but it was really well done, in my humble opinion (IMHO, in Internet lingo).
Title: Re: THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'
Post by: George on May 18, 2013, 12:06:27 AM
We saw it in IMAX 3D (it was great!) but the only drawback was that it was too loud.  Most of the dialogue could be understood (fortunately, no whispering, that I can remember), but there were a couple of times where the noise of what was going on drowned out the voices a bit.
Title: Re: THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'
Post by: George on May 18, 2013, 12:08:58 AM
And when I bought the ticket yesterday, it included a free iTunes download of the first Star Trek reboot!  The e-mail to download it arrived about an hour before the movie started, so I'm going to download it now. :)
Title: Re: THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'
Post by: George on May 18, 2013, 12:11:30 AM
In the movie, there was a specific scene that was an important scene in the "original" version and they handled the reboot quite well.  Everyone knew what was going on, but I didn't know where it was going to go from there.
