Well, you've read the notes, the notes were practically perfect, and now it is time for you to post until the practically perfect cows come home.

Up early this 20-degree morning (I left the heat on, too, just like BK -- coincidence??) to be ready to greet the electrician who has to do one last small thing before the town inspector comes to look things over and give the final permit on the generator.  It's been on line and doing fine for three weeks, but it's time to cross the i's and dot the t's --- or, well, you know what I mean...

The inspector is also coming over today, so all of a sudden we have a flurry of activity.  Yesterday was a frozen Hell, with the snowstorm and the frigid cleanup, and we're going to be in the deep freeze for some time to come.  This is January/February weather.

This evening, after all of that megillah or meshugah or ferkakte or whatever it is, I'm going over to an HTF-friend's house to watch MARY POPPINS on the Big Screen and out of the Big Speakers.  He has a fine projection system and I fully expect to be blown away by the film.  I must needs pick up my own copy -- today, if time permits, but certainly by tomorrow.

Yesterday, in between snow work, I watched my first Yasujiro Ozu film, TOKYO STORY.  Wow.  A far cry from MARY POPPINS, to say the least.

Yes. We leave Friday for the return home with a stop in Wisconsin to visit friends and Ohio (northern part, not in your area) and probably another stop to break up the trip and keep Anthony from collapsing as the only driver

The morning dog walks at these temperatures have been interesting. It doesn't seem to faze the dog at all - he goes out and dives right into the snow banks and rolls around and would go for hours if we let him. However, once I have to take my glove off to scoop the dog doo, my fingers never recover until well after I have returned home!

I like Nancy Sinatra's book about her father SINATRA....big book with lots of pictures....but when she talks about him on her TCM promo...."the most documented performer of the 20th century...." -  "...did more for singing diction than anyone else ever recorded....." - "....Daddy was the best actor and dancer in films...." - "...so glad he shared his wonderful gift with us all...."

Well...it's just too much....

Tokyo Story is a movie that makes me cry every time I see it, ChasSmith. I just bought it from the half-off Criterion sale. Guess I can weep all over again during the holidays.

The actors who play the parents are in a number of Ozu's movies. The films are not always dramas.

Good morning, all!  I had no energy this morning. After the alarm rang at 7:00, I went back to bed, debated getting out of bed around 8:20 and finally decided I had too much to do and got up around 9:30. I do not like this lethargy.

BK's rave about MARY POPPINS makes me want a Blu-Ray player, but it's third in line behind a printer and CD player.  I hate being poor. There's been no response t my email bout selling the property, so it's being ignored.

Today, back to Encores! work. If I get my energy up, I may do the laundry.  I need it.

DR Jane I was able to get my pictures on my usb. It took me more than an hour. Even the smell is much better I still had a bad headache when i was done. I am so sensitive to smells.

Well at least that part is done. I just have to go to the store and do the calendar. Thankfully i prefer to do this calendar at the store and not at my computer.

I have some other calendars to do that i need to do on my computer. I'm going to try to wait another couple of days. Maybe the smell will be better by then.

Yes DR ELMORE especially if your dvd/Blu Ray player is connected to an audio source, it can be used as a CD player......   It probably also has a couple of audio out jacks that you can connect to something other than your TV to listen to your cd's.

I do not, DR elmore3003, but I do have this video:

How to wrap a cat for Christmas:

Even though I've seen this before, I still love this video! :D

Happy Happy Birthday To DR GINNY. Have A GREAT Day!!!!

Thanks, DR ArnoldMBrockman - it's been a good day, except for Richard slipping on some ice and thumping his head on the pavement.  He's OK, but I kept an eye on him and made sure he had his phone close by when I left for my lunch with Becky.

Vibes Richard will be fine!!!!

Well, I was very careful to log out here on my computer before I left, but forgot to do the same on my iPad.  I have not been sitting here like so much fish this afternoon, but having a lovely Bravo lunch with Becky, followed by dessert coffees at Starbucks.

Good luck as that is difficult to get out.  Did you try the peppermint to help counter the odor?

Yes but i don't think it was a strong enough smell.

Thanks for the vibes for Richard.  He feels well enough to be doing laundry, which he finds very therapeutic.  He has an appointment with his cardiologist tomorrow and I'll suggest he ask for a general look-over, too.

Oh no!  The paper said we might have freezing rain Thursday night.  I have a doctor's appointment on Friday I can't miss as well as other errands to do in town.  One errand is to pick up Craig's flowers.

That Castrecl idiot is so clueless that when he tries to pontificate on how tuned he is about the zeitgeist he comes off as dumber than usual. I must say, though, that the Underwood controversy has brought out the boob side of several irritating listers.

Bruce, at PURE IMAGINATION on Sunday Richard kept saying how good he thought the show was. We looked for flyers in the lobby afterwards, as he wanted some to put in his salon, which isn't far from the theatre. No flyers. I know marketing isn't your job, but I just thought I'd mention it. If they expect to be sold out perhaps they thought they'd save on printing.

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  It's the end of the year and I have to get the budget spent down as close to zero as possible.  Last week, I really thought that I would have about $50,000 left over, with not enough invoices to actually pay!  But yesterday and today, some came in and we're paying a few early (they should really be paid next month/year), but it's all good.  I am still waiting on one revised invoice to be e-mailed from vendor, but if it doesn't come in, there will be enough for me to get pretty darned close to $0.00!

NOW, I have to do evaluations for my staff.  I just finished one, but I still have four to go.  I'll be working on those tomorrow.  They were actually due last week, but with the end of year budget issues, I got a special dispensation. ;)

I enjoyed the Karen Dotrice interview that DR MBARNUM posted a link to yesterday.

DR CILLA LIZ - that disheartening news about your friend's trial....

It is, but the truth is, she was always leaving work to go to the gym to run the dogs to do a lot of other things.  I think she got screwed over with what happened to her, but not sure she'll win a legal case over it.

DR Cilla I am sorry things aren't going well for your friend.

I think you need to get an exchange on your washer.

I'm not giving up on the washer yet, although I have met many people today who have the same problems.  Instead of using the "light" settings, I've been reading to use the heavy soil and bulky clothes and it will use more water and get the clothes cleaner. It's worth a try

And now the Von Trapp family is speaking out saying that the role should have been played by Anne Hathaway.  Excuse me?  The real Maria was hardly a beauty.  A middle-aged Mary Martin was being kind.

Honestly, I quit going to the trial because I was afraid that the evidence was starting to turn to the other side and I really didn't want to watch.   She had lots of other people there.  And I had to go back to work and make some money so we can take the week off at Christmas

Back, finally, from a lot of stuff today --
And especially tonight, from watching the MARY POPPINS Blu-ray, one of the most beautiful yet.

It's everything BK said, and more.

It's about as close to perfect as these things get.

I was watching on a very large (120") home screen (projected), and it truly brought back the theatrical experience.
