Well, you've read the notes, the notes were inspired by real life notes, and now it is time for you to post until the real life cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SCOFFLAW!
-
as for the actor Live Schreiber there is nothing worse than seeing a Dead Schreiber.
ps his first name is Liev.Schreiber.
The automatic speller corrector doesn't allow you to write his first name.
-
Good morning to all
-
and I really the first poster at 8:02am EST? That hasn't happened in a long time!
-
HA!
-
It is very warm here today....and more rain is expected, though hopefully it will taper off as the day goes on.
And of course - light wise - this is the shortest day of the year.....
-
So glad to read that BK has a a great year artistically.
And don't forget that "The Ghastly Love of Johnny X" was finally released after something like 5 years after he filmed it. Actor Kevin McCarthy had been dead a couple of years by the time it was released.
I don't think it made it to the theaters down here in Florida.
-
Good news from DR CILLA LIZ....and of course nice to have the South Carolina reports from DR RLP.
I enjoyed the notes again today.
TOD:
Probably playing The Man In the Chair in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE last August......
Today is a work day. Oh well. So I shall look forward to reading lots of nice things when I return.

TOD
Getting the go ahead to direct a fund raising reading of the play The Normal Heart
-
Coffee!
And good morning, all. In that order. :)

Got the weekend free to do whatever. And I believe that the aforementioned whatever is going to be cleaning the house for the holidays.
I have a friend's Open House to go to this afternoon. They just moved into this new house back in the summer, so it'll be an "open house" thing in both senses. Several mutual friends will be in attendance, so it should be a lot of fun.
-
Good morning, all! I'm meeting my friend DJ at 11:00 to see SAVING MR BANKS. aim really looking forward to it.
I have no more news at the moment. I need to learn how to use Youtube as a pumping device for some of my work. That's one of my projects this week.
-
I don't think my life was inspired by real life events.
-
Good morning, Everybody!!!
-
I'm looking forward to a good old-fashioned Christmas Afternoon at the Theatah -- I mean the theater -- seeing SAVING MR. BANKS with friends and, purportedly, about nine billion other people. The local 16-screen AMC is predicting that will be one of their busiest days ever in their 20 years at this location.
-
Saturday morning greetings! It's gray and rainy here in SW Ohio and I'm in all day to bake Christmas cookies and wrap presents. First, though, pre-bake pizza crusts for tonight's dinner!
-
Good morning, all.
I'm feeling as if the allergens in the air are finally catching up with me. Either that or I'm too exhausted.
-
TOD:
Getting to know so much of Texas, thanks to being asked to write this barbecue book.
-
Good morning! Yes, really this morning. In bed by midnight. Up by 4:00 a.m. Crazy? Possibly. Just not tired - Yet!
-
Good morning!
-
Belated birthday greetings to DR ryacko!
-
DR Jane I tried the baking soda. I think maybe it helped.
I think it is mostly me. But it still bothers me. Especially my eyes.
Hopefully it will get better. The colder weather did seem to help.
Thanks.
-
That is weird about Annie being at a cemetery. And not being able to hear some of the people at all. Not good.
-
Very interesting in the notes re: you always wanting to have the title before you start the book.
I wonder if many authors even get to choose the title of their books. Or if usually some suggestions are given by their editors. I would also be curious if many authors have their title before starting the book. Or maybe they have an idea of what they would want to call it.
-
Cilla - Thanks so much for your message.

Belated birthday wishes to DR Ryacko!

Taking a break while Richard uses the ShopVac to get rid of the floodwaters that were encroaching on the package-wrapping table. No threat to the gifts, but I didn't want to be standing in a puddle.

Young adult author Ned Vizzini has committed suicide. He wrote the semi-autobiographical novel, "It's Kind Of A Funny Story."

It was a "Christmas Special" on CBS. I don't think they will be run again this year but they may do it again next year if the ratings were good.

I am home from tackling 42nd Street successfully and a wonderful film, SAVING MR BANKS, which I want to see again. Excellent cast and very moving screenplay. I agree with BK about the score, which is the film's weak link: too contemporary. Sometimes I felt I was in a bar listening to a pianist noodle on songs from MARY POPPINS.

TOD - the trip to England that started our year tops my list. We also celebrated 3 engagements in our extended family and look forward to March, May, and July weddings in 2014.

Thanks.
It couldn't hurt. I would not like to cope with spilled turpentine.
-
This elf is tired! My wrapping is complete except for one person's gift. Between wrapping sessions I made a batch of shortbread cut-out cookies that we will decorate tomorrow or Monday. Time for pizza and a glass of wine!
-
Just back from seeing Peter Filichia's wonderful play, a take on Christmas Carol, a very moving play called ADAM'S GIFTS, at a theater in a church I'd never been in before down on Christopher Street.
Dear friends Bill Parry (as the Scrooge character) and Maureen Silliman (as all four ghosts) were in the excellent cast.

Keith surprised me and recorded it. Except that Lucy's hair was a bit on the orange side it was good.
-
We began the year with our nieces wedding in Cozumel. It was a pain getting there and back but the wedding weekend was very nice. Then 9 1/2 months later our grand niece was born. I wish we lived closer to meet her in person.
In April, and the high-light of my year, finally visiting New Mexico and going to the Carlsbad Caverns. What an incredible place.
Having our best friends to celebrate our anniversary at the coast made for an extra special anniversary.
Our drive through Idaho in August to meet up with Bryan & Kate in Jackson Hole, The Tetons, and Yellowstone was very nice. Best of all, of course, was spending time with Bryan. We see so little of our children it is difficult.
-
I used to stay home while Keith traveled the world on business. He hates to travel now while I want to see the world. It was very sweet of him to take me on two major trips.

Finished watching American Hustle screener. It has its moments, but too long and a bit repetitious and too much whispery acting.
-
TCB - Are the archives for your show available only in your area?
-
I am watching MARY POPPINS. The color in the 40th Anniversary edition is off. Matthew Garber looks like he's wearing Eqyptian greasepaint. Still, what a fantastic movie!
-
TCB - Are the archives for your show available only in your area?
Not necessarily. In fact I know a man in NYC who has a copy from the archives.
-
The new Mary Poppins Blu-ray has perfect color.

Of course, legally, the shows can only be filmed for the archives, or for educational purposes.

Just home from Philomena.. What a wonderful film. I completely agree with BK about it. Go see it!
-
Philomena is my favorite film of the year - just a real movie in every sense of the word. And that would be followed by Saving Mr. Banks.
-
Tomorrow Paul and I are going to American Hustle. Monday I'm planning to see Saving Mr. Banks I call it intensive movie therapy
-

I could use some of that!
-
I've always found getting lost in a movie is the best way to get away from the stress of the real world. I know I'm not alone in that.
-
Get me off this damn Paige O'Hara.
-
You'd think it was a few days before Christmas or something.
-
I'll leave in about an hour and mosey on over to the theater.
-
I got most of my Christmas shopping done today
-
Still have a little more to do.
-
Then I have to get some paper and wrap the presents
-
Since I rarely see my great nieces and nephew in Joplin, I'm sending their dad money to get them something. I just don't know them well enough to know what they like.
-
I don't know much else
-
There is bad weather to the north of us and bad weather to the south of us and we are just cold. I'm feeling lucky about that
-
Oh we're getting close now

Page 4....really? only page 4?

Since I rarely see my great nieces and nephew in Joplin, I'm sending their dad money to get them something. I just don't know them well enough to know what they like.
Does he also wrap their gifts for you?
The only gifts we sent were for Bryan & Craig, just food we ordered on line. Once again I didn't do Christmas cards. I used to be so passionate about Christmas until I broke my shoulder and it is just the two of us, no celebrating.

I don't know. I'm half way tempted to just start skipping it. The kids don't expect anything from me because they really don't even know me very well.
-
I prefer taking gifts at unexpected times. I figure they might remember me more. It would work if we weren't so far away. We have sent fun gifts for their birthdays but it get challenging. When we went to Portland for Thanksgiving we took Eli and nice Chanukah gift and Keith played with her after she opened it.
-
I give them gifts when I see them in the summer.
-
Then you don't really need to do Christmas ;)
-
I have been putting off doing the dishes because I'm ready to fall asleep. I attempted a nap but only managed about a minute of sleep-story of my life.
-
Richard and I were just having a similar conversation about gifts for our great nephews and niece. They all have December birthdays and we sent presents to their combined party that we didn't attend last week because of bad weather. Now it looks like we're going to see them here in town next Sunday and we agree that Christmas presents are probably not necessary. I think I'll make a batch of caramel corn for family gifts.
-
Caramel corn is good!!!
-
We are having a thunderstorm, which is very weird for December 21.
-
We are having loads of fog.
-
Today our neighbor received a package that was too big for his mailbox. Apparently the mailman didn't want to risk driving up our road or the neighbors driveway so he left the box on the trash cans across from the mailboxes. Imagine our surprise when we saw the box sitting there tempting thieves. We drove it up to our neighbor.
-
And I have finished watching MARY POPPINS. Beautiful film.
DR TCB, the 40th anniversary edition was released 10 years ago; the movie is now 50 years old. I have neither a Blu-Ray player nor the cash to purchase one. I need to buy a new printer.
-
'night
-
I'm about to sign off, too, because tomorrow I'm going to Lima for the first time since the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Of course, Richard's only been there once himself because we were snowed out last Sunday and the one before that. 5:30am will come all too soon...
'night!
-
Good evening, all.
Back from a day of errands, and a slightly too long visit to my friends' Open House. It was very enjoyable, but a few other wonderful key people weren't able to show up, so it finally got too old for me and I got me the HELL out of there. A 50-minute dark country drive later, here I am, a member of the beat generation. But not that kind of beat.
-

Happy Solstice, everyone!!
First and foremost, THANK YOU again for all of the lovely birthday wishes yesterday and today. it was a wonderful day indeed.
Today has been mad. I dared to go to a mall. What was I thinking? Oh, well, I'm still alive. I may hide under the couch for awhile though. :D

JJust home from a long but rewarding afternoon.
-
A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to help her church serve up meals to the homeless at the compound downtown that includes living facilties, a medical clinic and a variety of other services.
I hadn't seen the place, so I said sure.
-
What did we serve? Barbecue, of course.
And excellent barbecue it was.
-
The folks who were served were happy with the food, and some even came back for seconds. One asked us to come serve it once a week. Wish I could. My own church goes once a month, but it's not on a convenient night for me. I might have to make it convenient.
-
One of the people in the group was someone I used to work with at the newspaper. Things are not going well there. He said 15-20 people had quit recently and none was being replaced. The work load is not being lessened, either.
I can't believe how blessed I am to be out of there.
-
There were some strange previews before SAVING MR BANKS, but I thought the one for THE WINTER'S TALE looked really good. Now I want to read the Helprin novel.
I'm off to bed, I am fighting a cold and feeling puny.
-
Started watching "The Four Seasons." Haven't seen this movie in ages. I enjoyed it a lot back in the day. Now, it just seems OK, more of an exercise for a great cast than a great movie.
-
Page four, really?
-
Time for a change.
-
Five!

Good night, all.

I am not sure that BK ever saw my post(s) regarding the site being down last night and early this morning.
-
I guess I need to start a frenzy.
-
It has been such a joy playing to sold out houses this weekend.
-
Unlike here, where I am playing to an empty house.
-
I am not going to make it to church in the morning.
-
Page two? Really?
The whole thing was down during the night, BK.
I didn't know for how long. Just before I went to bed I saw it was down and texted our guy, who always seems to be up - this time it had something to do with a firewall - I just told him to fix it quickly.
-
Back from a good performance with a kind of quiet audience but one that was very appreciative nonetheless. Sold out.

Okay, just wanted you to know.
-
Then Sami, her mom, and I went to a nearby jernt and had a snack. I hadn't eaten much of anything and what I had there still wasn't much of anything, so I'm still snacking now at home. Before coming home, I stopped at Gelson's and decided to do the rest of the Do shopping - only took thirty minutes and I now don't have to buy anything for the Do.
-

When will they decide if the show is going to move, or stay where it is currently playing?

I would love to attend the Do some year.

My pain pills are starting to kick in.
That is a good thing!

I still should be able to get to page six.
-
140? Well maybe.
-
At least we have made a major dent in page five.
-
I guess, because of the holiday, my Disability check was in the bank this morning.
-
A Bollywood actor that I am quite fond of is in the USA currently. We are making plans to do an interview soon, so I have been trying to catch up on some of his films that I have not yet seen. He did a lot of semi-trashy B grade films, one of which I am in the middle of viewing. Tomorrow I have one of his religious themed films to watch.
-
DR TCB, I interrupted your page 5 roll.

That is exciting, Mike. Is he a hunk?

I think we'll know before the end of the year, as it requires moving everything over, which is not as easy as it sounds.
