Well, I'm off. Tomorrow night, Theater Artists Olympia is having a movie night! We're going to show "Bucket of Blood" and "The Brain That Wouldn't Die." Tonight, we're going to test everything. I have a couple of microwave ovens that we will use to make popcorn to sell, and we want to make sure that they don't trip the circuit breakers. And we want to make sure that the movies look good on our newly made screen. :D
Be back later!

HEALTH and HEALING vibes for DR MIKE.
Great photo, DR Ginny! :)
Hope things turn out OK Mike
And I am home from market. The Man from Philadelphia just sent me 5,000 words on the Battle of the Marne to condense to about a 60 word paragraph. Jesus Christ!

It does not make any sense for her to file a claim before hearing your response. I agree that she is totally at fault. But I disagree with responding to her any way but nicely. She writes crap. You should IMO still always answer politely.
Yes, I knew Wendy VERY well. There are things in Kritzer Time that are based on her - you wouldn't know which they were, though.

That's the best Elaine Stritch story I've ever heard!
This is rich! And light of yesterday's TOD: a burglar was caught because he just couldn't resist checking his Facebook account from a computer in the home he was robbing. When he left, he forgot to log out...

DR GINNY posted a nicer photo!
This morning, I am driving a friend and one of her daughters to the airport. They're going to California to the visit the college where the daughter will going in the fall. I really should be in bed so that I can get up very early. :P
Good night and have a good day, all!

The saddest thing about Jacques Bergerac's passing is that no one could understand his last words.....at least I could never understand a word he said.

It was a good story. I was just reading the importance of hitting a deer, if you can't stop, at an angle so that it doesn't go through your window. Seems you instinctively did the right thing.

There's been a B&N for quite a few years here in Olympia. It still seems to be doing well.

Well, it turns out that the extra microwave oven that I had (it was donated for a future TAO garage/yard sale that hasn't happened yet) did NOT have the glass turntable and plastic-wheely-ring-support-thing. It also turns out that the glass turntable and plastic-wheely-ring-support-thing from my microwave oven fit the other one, so we decided to use that instead of mine because it's easier to program. We also made popcorn in several different ways and think that a couple of them will work.
Chas, let us know if it worked and was the good version.
My brother just returned from visiting his daughter in NY. They saw "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" which my brother is now raving about. Did anyone see this? A "search" didn't show any comments.

Ask BK Day: BK: do you have an idea of when Sandy will do her show in NYC?
DR Jennifer I shall be reading your reports on Kindle specials more closely now.

Hey, Sing, I've been talking to one of my sisters and I also saw reports on the news this morning before I came in the office. I know you said you're on a hill but I hope things are OK with you flood-wise! My sister said that MN is about to have the wettest June on record. The Mississippi River looks pretty wild. She's in North Minneapolis and I don't think she's in any danger of flooding but you never can tell.
Actually I just googled it and KFC is still giving the girl the money, which I think is a lovely thing for them to do. They unfortunately got a ton of bad publicity and I think this generosity will go a long way.
I feel especially bad for the farmers - some of their fields are simply under water.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned this, yet...Eli Wallach, veteran character actor, dead at 98 (http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/eli-wallach-dead-98-article-1.1843065).
Wow...98 very long and continually productive years!

DR Jane--I saw it twice and loved it! I'm pretty sure I mentioned it. One actor, Jefferson Mays, plays 8 characters. And the other lead, Bryce Pinkham, is great too as are the supporting cast members, including Jane Carr, who memorably played Mary MacGregor in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. I can't recommend it highly enough!
Yes, a first and last time customer.
I hope you and hubby remain safe.

DR JRand63, there's no storm cellar?
After seven hours, I got the damned section on the Battle of the Marne down to about 480 words. I am waiting for the Man from Philadelphia to complain about the word count. I'm counting every word I will throw his direction.
I honestly believe none of it is necessary in notes on ROBERTA, and this is why he drives me up the wall. I did find one episode in the battle on September 7,1914, both moving and funny. The Marne is a tributary of the Seine, and the battle took place close to Paris since the Germans were trying to take the City. The German forces were close to breaking through General Maunoury's French forces. They were only saved by the arrival of 6,000 French reserve infantry troops ferried from Paris in six hundred taxicabs.
