Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on their way to be posted at midnight, and now it is time for you to post until the on their way cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAGACITY!
-
This is probably one of the earliest times that a day started.
-
I'm watching "Nashville" right now. After that, I'm going to start recording some of the PBS specials (Sweeney Todd, The Nance, Porgy and Bess, Michael Feinstein) onto my sister's boyfriend's laptop that he loaned me. He can burn them onto Blu-ray discs for me! It'll take a while to get them all recorded, but he said that I could borrow the laptop for several weeks.
-
Since none of these are going to be released at all, it'll be great to have actual Blu-rays of them. :D
-
Since none of these are going to be released at all, it'll be great to have actual Blu-rays of them. :D
I thought that THE NANCE was going to be released . Not Blu-Ray, but on DVD.
-
It seems dishonest to be posting without having read the notes.
-
George, do you have the ability to transfer from VHS to DVD?
-
I would really like to get my version of SLEUTH put on to DVD (for educational purposes only).
-
Boy, this is really slow going when you are only on Page 1.
-
Safe travel vibes for BK
and for Ginny and Richard!
-
Happy New York week for DR Kevin.
-
I sincerely hope that there will be lots of photos during the events this weekend!
-
I can't believe that George has gone (GONE GIRL) to bed this early.
-
Most vampires are just now getting out of their coffins.
-
Not that I think George is a bloodsucker.
-
Well, my work here is done.
G'night!

Since none of these are going to be released at all, it'll be great to have actual Blu-rays of them. :D
I thought that THE NANCE was going to be released . Not Blu-Ray, but on DVD.
I don't think I knew that. "The Sound of Music" (on NBC) was also only released on DVD and I would assume that "Peter Pan" will be, too. Larry (my sister's boyfriend) has already made a Blu-ray of "TSoM" for me.
-
George, do you have the ability to transfer from VHS to DVD?
If it's not a copy-guarded tape, I do. :)
-
I can't believe that George has gone (GONE GIRL) to bed this early.
Not yet...but soon. I'm driving my friend to the airport and I need to get to her house by 10:00 am, and I can't be late!
-
Topic of the Day (in alphabetical order):
Being Human
Broadchurch (I didn't watch the American version)
Doctor Who
French and Saunders
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The League of Gentlemen ("Are you local??" ;) )
Murder Most Horrid
Red Dwarf
Sherlock
Torchwood
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Thursday morning greetings! I'm up an hour earlier than intended - must be pre-travel excitement! I've put Richard's birthday surprises on his breakfast placemat and will soon get started on the day.
-
Lots of traveling going on today - vibes to all in the air and on the highways!
-
TOD - in our household, Richard is the real British mystery aficionado. The ones I'll watch with him are MIDSOMER MURDERS, INSPECTOR MORSE, and the Agatha Christies. We also like one called DEATH IN PARADISE. I wish someone would turn the MAISIE DOBBS books into a series starring Kirsty Dillon.
-
Travel vibes for Ginny and Richard, and for BK!
-
And more travel vibes for any travelers I've missed.
-
I would really like to get my version of SLEUTH put on to DVD (for educational purposes only).
That sounds like a great idea! I'd buy it.
-
It seems dishonest to be posting without having read the notes.
Ooops, I did it, too, just went right from yesterday's chat to today's. I'll go fix that once we're on page 2.

I'd better go read the notes before I get served with a violation of protocol.

-
DR Vixmom, we are available Saturday afternoon...
-
Good ungodly early morning, all!
I'm up at the same time DR Ginny and DH Richard and BK are up for a day of TRAVEL. Vibes to all of us for excellent trips!
-
I know one thing: it's going to be a cold one!
I'm going to let the car warm up a little before settling into it myself.
-
DR ChasSmith, if you're on I-75 north, wave when you pass exit 32! And have a safe journey...

I'm going to let the car warm up a little before settling into it myself.
Yes, it looks like it's colder here than in New York.
-
Have we ever gotten to page 2 this early in the morning?
There was one memorable kooky evening in the Pogue days when we actually had late night denizens, when we were on page twenty by morning.
-
I'm up, I've showered and I'm ready to be on my way to New York, New York, the city that never sleeps in about thirty-five minutes. I think I slept an hour or two. Hopefully I can nod off on the plane.
-
Morning all.
That is all.

Travel vibes to Chas!!!

And here I go, for one last delicious plate of goodness at The Original Pancake House.

TOD:
I confess I've watched very few British shows, but I love "Absolutely Fabulous". And when Mark and I were in England, we enjoyed watching the British programming in our hotel room. I saw one episode of a sit-com that seemed to have half American actors and I think it was called "Centre Stage". It was hysterical. We also liked a do-it-yourself handyman instructional show called "Big Strong Boys". Mostly we liked the name and we still make jokes about it even though we saw probably ten years ago.
-
Travel vibes for all HHW folks.......we are with you in spirit.
AND happy birthday to DH RICHARD!!!

I am excited to see the photos from the gatherings and get the low down on the NYC Kritzerland Shows.....take photos of everyone in the audience, whether we know them or not!

The funds from my insurance were finally deposited in my bank account this morning. Whew! I can go buy a car tonight. I think I've settled on getting a Mazda2, even though I haven't test-driven one yet. Mark discovered on hertz.com, they have a rent-2-buy program where I can rent a car for three days and then buy it. They have a bright red 2013 Mazda2 with about 47,000 miles on it waiting for me at the Burbank airport. It's the "touring" trim level, so it has all the bells and whistles I like. And it's about $1,500 cheaper than anything I've found comparable. We'll go pick it up after work. I hope I like it!

Has anybody here seen the Angelina Jolie movie Maleficent? I am wondering how suitable it is for kids? I am guessing that there is zero chance that my 5 year old niece would watch it. I went yet again to see Mr. Barrett at the Metropolitan Room, this time with DR Ben. Brent was at his best and was very emotional as he thanked John Kander, who was in the audience. Mr. Kander graciously got up from his booth and gave Brent a hug. It was so nice having Ben there.
-
Ben took a photo of Mr. Kander and me. I think it's really good. I would post it but it's on my camera (not my phone) and I don't have a computer with me.
-
Yes, it was quite an evening. Brent was in great voice and Mr. Kander, at 87, is quite amazing. He didn't play the piano or anything like that but his presence was exciting. When the performance was over people flocked to him (and Brent). Life Is What You Do and Quiet Thing were both very moving, in different ways. Brent obviously loves what he's doing and it shows on stage.
Thanks, Kevin for the opportunity to see BB.

A truly twisted sentence. This comes from a library catalog description of a movie called "Man of the West."
"Screen legend Gary Cooper (Vera Cruz) powerfully demonstrates why he will forever be remembered as one of the most original and authentic stars of the screen."
Is it Gary or is it Vera? I can never get those two straight.

Long story short --
My car's battery warning light came on, and is probably indicating that belts are worn or that the alternator is not charging the battery, so the battery itself was discharging -- and just when you need it most; e.g., driving at night, in the rain, using heat, and all that good stuff that runs off the electrical system. It didn't "go away" or "fix itself", so I used AAA to find an approved garage to leave the car with overnight, and they drove me down the street to a motel. Hopefully they can fix the issue(s) upon starting their day around 8:00 in the a.m. tomorrow morning! And I'll take a few vibes on that, if'n ya'all don't mind, thanks in advance!! :)

Question for BK: You are very generous about signing things, but my friends are wondering if it would be appropriate to also bring something to ask Richard Sherman to sign. If he doesn't like a lot of that, or if you don't think it's appropriate this time for any reason, just say the word. Thanks!
