Well, you've read the notes, the notes wrote up a storm, and now it is time for you to post until the stormy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PREGUSTATOR!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to Occasional DR Charles Pogue!! :D
-
Today, I will be ushering for one in the Washington Center's silent film series, "Way Down East (http://wcpa.squarespace.com/upcoming-events/2015/1/18/silent-film-series-way-down-east.html)." I love their silent film series. They have live organ music playing and it's always very good! Here's what the listing says:
A 1920 romantic drama directed by D. W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish, this is one of four film adaptations of the melodramatic 19th century play Way Down East by Lottie Blair Parker. Griffith's version is particularly remembered for its exciting climax in which Gish's character is rescued from doom on an icy river. The original score will be performed live on our 1924 Andy Crow Wurlitzer by master organist Dennis James.
:)
-
After that, I'll probably go to my parents' house. My sister and niece are having dinner there, so if they're still there, I'll visit and probably play Scrabble of Phase 10.
Have a good day, all!
-
I am sorry to have missed wishing DR Ginny and her DH Richard a most HAPPY ANNIVERSARY yesterday!
-
Wishing a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR Charles Pogue!

Health vibes of all sorts to DR Mike
Thank you very much. I survived whatever happened on Friday. Now we'll have to see if we will make a second attempt.
-
Good morning to all

And of course a very happy Birthday to DR Charles Pogue!

Happy birthday to Charles Pogue!

I guess it's my age but so many actors that I grew up with and admire (and in this case met) Don Harron one of authors of the music version of ANNE OF GREEN GABLEs, but perhaps would be most remembered to US television audiences as the character of Charlie Farquharson which he did on Hee Haw for 18 seasons. But he was firstly a Canadian icon who did TV, Film, Radio and author.
Here is a picture of him in character

Good morning, all.
Happy birthday, Charles Pogue!
-
In the strange coincidence department: I just read on the Book of Face that my friends who I worked with in Middletown and who recent moved to Dayton also had dinner at the same place Ginny and Richard did last night, the Amber Rose. Bill posted a picture of his turtle soup, which looked wonderful.
-
Good morning, all.
I could hardly get my bloomin' arse out of bed this morning. For no good reason at all. Well, maybe getting only six and a half hours of sleep is a good reason. Must do better than that.
Coffee!
-
Happy Birthday, DR Charles Pogue, no relation to the department stores! :). :)
-
Sunday morning greetings! Fr. Richard excused me from Lima today so that Mary Linda and I can attend a baby shower this afternoon for a young AAUW friend. I've known the mother-to-be since she was a baby and she and Rob grew up together. Her mom, as a school board member, presented Rob his high school diploma 10 years ago.
-
Good morning, all!
I was up a bit late last night reading my latest Thomas and Charlotte Pitt mystery, I got to bed some time after 12:45, and this morning - after several bizarre dreams I no longer recall - I slept in longer than I should. This is a "finish that damned Moross score" day, so I need to finish up the second half of "The Contraband Ball," which occurred in Vicksburg in 1863, and is in the musical a darkly humorous and disastrous integration attempt.
At the same time, I have the LaCie repair function run to check on the disk holding the downloads of the past three days. C'est l'histoire de ma vie.
-
Thank you to DRs George, TCB, and Singdaw for the anniversary wishes!
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Charles Pogue!
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to our DR Charles Pogue !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got there at 5:30 and the place was empty. By the time we left an hour or so later, it was packed.
-
Good morning. A marathon has the road exiting my subdivision closed today, so I am home all day.
-
Happy Birthday, Charles!
-
We watched GONE GIRL last night.
Liked it.
-
Happy Birthday to DR CP.
-
DR LAURA I have never seen a Troika production that looked like they spent more than $5 on anything....and it might be non-union......

Bad news on the LaCie front: all the 2012 files I downloaded on Friday have mysteriously vanished from the hard drive. I don't know what the fat hell happened, but I'm downloading them again now. This may go on for weeks. I wish I could simply afford to purchase a new LaCie hard drive and store all the old backups there, but i've got to work fast before these corrupt 2012-2013 fles vanish forever.

computer vibes for Elmore

Health vibes for everyone

The weather outside is so lousy that it is really really dark in this apartment.
Between the lights and the damned radiator, I feel I'm contributing 90% of the global warming.
-
I forgot: according to the fools in Congress and those who elected them, science is wrong and global warming is a myth. I guess I can turn on some more lamps and spray some aerosol cans for a while.
-
LaCie vibes for DR ELMORE.

LaCie vibes for DR ELMORE.
Thanks, DR JRand64! I was so certain yesterday that I was on top of the situation.
We are to the gods as flies to wanton boys. Or something like that.

Thanks! My biggest fear is that those 2012 files are corrupt and i can download from here to eternity and they still won't stick to the disk.

I hope not!!!!

Happy Birthday Charles

Watching the rest of a movie I started last night called "Friday the 13th," an early British talkie with Jessie Matthews and Ralph Richardson, Edmund Gwenn and a whole slew of people. Emlyn Williams wrote the script and plays a blackmailer in it. He's really good, but then again, so is everyone else in the cast.
It starts with a bus wreck and then takes you back to tell you the stories of the various people on the bus.

:)
-
Computer and LaCie VIBES to DR Elmore. STAT!
-
I'm up, I'm up - guess I should have set the alarm for ten. But I did get about nine hours of sleep. So, must get my wits about me and futz and finesse, then write.
-
I had a nice long telephonic visit with my sister, and I am pleased to report that there is no news.
-
DR LAURA I have never seen a Troika production that looked like they spent more than $5 on anything....and it might be non-union......
According to the playbill, they are all union members.
It would have been a great production ... if it was high school or volunteer community theater.
-
"Those Canaan Days" brought down the house, though. It was the best number in the show.
-
I love that song....now I want to do JOSEPH again.
-
DR ELMORE if that isn't the quote - it should be.
-
I've written close to seven pages so far. I'm sure when I go back I'll be adding another page or two to this section, but I think it's okay. So, when I get home from the fundraiser, I'll do another seven and get to the end of this chapter.

That's damning with the faintest of praise.

We were on page 4 by this time yesterday!
Backups finished again, then a difficult phone call I wish I had avoided. When caller ID is on the TV and that isn't on, you really are screwed.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Belated but heartfelt HAPPY ANNIVERSARY wishes to DR GINNY & DH RICHARD!
It sounds like you celebrated happily without my help. ;)
-
I had a nice long telephonic visit with my sister, and I am pleased to report that there is no news.
Wonderful to hear!!!
-
Happy Birthday to DR Charles Pogue!

MEGA HEALTH VIBES TO DR MIKE!
I'm so sorry to read of your ordeal. I hope that's soon history and your doctors find exactly what you need to correct your health issues.
-
Backups finished again,
Did they work this time?
-
LaCie VIBES to Larry!
I'm impressed that you were able to go as far as you did with the back-ups. Vibes that your efforts plus the skills of your Mac Man resolve the issue completely.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to occasional DR CHARLES POGUE!

That's the way I feel about the manner in which so many businesses are conducted, ie, meeting the most minimal of requirements.
-
Mary Linda and I had a delightful time at Laura's baby shower.
-
I am up and around, but perhaps not quite 100%. I had my first normal meal on Friday, following an acupuncture treatment. I found this a really tough flu to get rid of.
-
I, too, was pleased to hear about season 2 of THE FALL. I was very impressed with season 1.
-
STAY-HEALTHY VIBES TO ALL!

I have found all flu's tough to get rid of. I'm glad you are finally improving.
-
Continued vibes for DR Jeanne.
-
I thought we had a short power outage until my computer went completely off. It seems my back up battery needs to be replaced.
-
Wrote another page, listened to a bit of our new CD master and shaved and will now shower and be on my way to the fundraiser.
-
More vibes to Jeanne!
-
Fundraising vibes for MR BK.
-
Recovery vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
Rhetorical question:
Why would you do a filmed production of A CHRISTMAS MEMORY and not end it with the kites and the final sentiment of the short story?
-
I had a very nice phone conversation with Robert Kimball about the unpleasant phone call. I think we will have lunch next week/

I finally saw Into The Woods this afternoon
No one applauded after any of the numbers. There were a few laughs here and there.
I enjoyed it but not the best musical I ever saw.
Glad there wasn't the frenetic cutting like there was in Chicago.
Meryl Streep was very good in it as was most of the other cast.
-
As I was walking out of the theater two women of a certain age were talking about the film. They enjoyed it but they didn't know it was going to be a musical.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Charles Pogue! I miss your posts.

The Seattle Seahawks have pulled off
the comeback of the century!

that's wonderful!

Indeed, it is!

Four!

Went out for Persian food this evening. Had something very weird called Tachine, which was described as a sort of lasagna made with layers of cooked rice with chicken in between. Not a good description of the dish at all. It was a rice dish, but not layered. Instead it was baked with plenty of the house-made yogurt and chicken in a saffron rice mixture and then turned out on a plate. It was not attractive, because the top that you saw was slightly burnt, but the flavors were outstanding. Had never tasted anything like it -- in the best way possible. Loved it.
-
I think we all know who was doing the applauding at showings of Into the Woods, and it was NOT regular moviegoers, but theater fans who went in there to do exactly that.
-
Back from a nice fundraising afternoon - raised another two thousand bucks, so that was nice. Then went to dinner and am finally home, ninety minutes later than I wanted to be. So, back to writing. Need to do at least five to seven pages.
-
Watching "Joyful Noise" with Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah. The two get into a catfight and they start talking about how old the other is. Latifah gets a great line as she says to Dolly, You're so old, "you read the Bible to reminisce."
-
Wrote four more pages just now - so that's twelve so far. I'll now take a break and then do two or three more before the end of the evening. At that point, I'm probably thirty pages or so from the end of the book. I'm probably going to binge write when I get home tomorrow and try to finish the thirty pages. Then I can futz and finesse them on Tuesday after rehearsal and get them to Muse Margaret when I'm happy with them.
-
I just learned that my dear friend and former client, George Dickerson, passed away in New York on January 10th after a long illness.
George was a fine writer and actor. Among his many credits were major roles in BLUE VELVET, AFTER DARK, MY SWEET and a recurring role on HILL STREET BLUES.
-
Oh dear! This is not good.
-
Less than one hundred!
-
I am going to get bloody fingers.
-
Too bad I don't have the speech recognition on this computer.
-
Because I can talk for hours.
-
That would be less painful.
-
I admire BK's dedication to his writing.
-
I just can't sit down and write ten or twelve pages, just like that.
-
Actually, I have a good idea for this book, but the putting it down on paper is tough.
-
Maybe I need to be locked in to a room with just me and the computer.
-
And some food.
-
And some water.
-
Oh, and a bathroom.
-
And maybe a stereo.
-
And some relaxing CDs.
-
And a dictionary (most important).
-
And a dictionary (most important).
And how about a thesaurus, too? ;)
-
I am watching RESEURRECTION tonight. I am not sure why.
-
I obviously have missed a few episodes because all sorts of things have happened that I must have missed.
-
I thought the show was on hiatus during the holidays, but I guess I was wrong.
-
There are new characters that I have never seen before.
-
Well, I am getting close.
-
One more.
-
Today, I will be ushering for one in the Washington Center's silent film series, "Way Down East (http://wcpa.squarespace.com/upcoming-events/2015/1/18/silent-film-series-way-down-east.html)." :)
The silent movie was very good. It was three hours long, but didn't seem like it.
-
Page Five!
-
The organist, Dennis James, actually toured with Lillian Gish for six years, showing the movie with him playing the score and her talking about it. Today, he played the organ arrangement of the actual original score from 1920! It was great and the (relatively small) audience loved it.
-
Well, I guess I will leave you to you it, George.
-
Well, I guess I will leave you to you it, George.
Good night, Tom!
-
Well, I'd better post something instead of just sit here watching TV.
-
I just watched this week's episode of "Glee." I know not many (any?) here watch it, but I just don't like what happened with Blane...he's dating the guy who terrorized Kurt. If they wanted Blane and Kurt to break up, they can take their stories wherever they want, but why have this character come back in this way? :-\
-
I must say that the actor is a good actor and I'm sure that he's a nice guy, but it's his character's plot device that I object to.
Just my 2¢.
-
BK, Congrats on the success of your fund raiser today!
-
Finished The Fall, wrote another two pages for a total of fourteen, and I'm done for the evening.
-
But no, I'm not done for the evening because I've got notes to write. Let's at least have a frenzy while I'm doing that.
-
Tomorrow, my friend Margo, her friend Marsha and I are going to see "The Birdman."
-
We're going to eat at The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen & Spirits (http://www.therockwfk.com).
-
Margo always gets a drink called The Bucket, which has five different kinds of rum.
-
I don't drink, except for their Lava Lamp drink that lights up...
-
AND you get to take the Lava Lamp shaped (plastic) glass home!
-
I have three. :D

Here's a picture of the drink:
