Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no sexuality, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently looking for their MOOsplaced sexuality.
-
And the word of the day is: MISANDRY!
-
Morning all.
That is all.

On this day in 1983, the world lost one of its most beautiful natural voices.

That is great, DR Ginny. I still can't believe your good fortune yesterday, traveling-wise. :)

Twitter is having fun proposing titles for Harper Lee's forthcoming second novel:

Good morning, all.
I am feeling the effects of all my running around and working in below-freezing weather yesterday, so today I'm on strike. I'm staying in, staying warm and resting. Because the last thing I need right about now would be my third cold of the season.
-
Coffee!

Knee vibes to DR Mike!

I think I got out of Chicago right before it started snowing again.

ASK BK
Have you heard anything about the new 4K scan of Capra's Lost Horizon that also included new found footage getting a new release hopefully on Blu Ray?
The last items I can find are from last year and that they were shown at The Cannes Film Festival and at a film festival in Seattle.
Perhaps you can ask your neighbor Mr. Gitt if he knows anything.
-
DR SINGDAW thanks so much for that link!!! Free Google Earth Pro!!!

And the word of the day is: MISANDRY!
And The Song Of The Day Is: I HATE MEN

*BAM*
-
Good morning, all!
I am finally out of bed. I have nothing to report so far this morning. I wanted to stay in bed all day, but I am up and moving. Sorta.

I'm up. I fell asleep at about one-thirty, woke up at four-thirty and fell back asleep at six-thirty. So maybe five hours.
-
So last night I hit the top of my head.....OUCH!! And I was sick all night, but I do not think the two events are related.
Feel much better today.....no bruise or bump.....maybe I dreamed it.

This is so cool! I'll have to install it when I get home later tonight. I'm ushering tonight for the national tour of Memphis. I saw this in Seattle just before it went to Broadway. :)

PAGE TWO MEMPHIS DANCE!!
(https://robertian.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/memphis_2_-_photo_by_paul_kolnik.jpg)
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Let me know what you think of this version of Memphis, George. I saw the show at the movie theater and liked it enough, just enough, to get the DVD. But some people just rave about the show, and I don't quite get it.
I loaned the DVD to friends, who watched it three times they enjoyed it so much. And on the Forgotten Musicals page, Londoners are praising the new production over there.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! My suitcase was delivered at 5am, which makes me a very happy camper.
Great news, Ginny!
-
Well as for me......MEMPHIS could have stayed in Seattle.
-
More snow headed my way.....but mostly north of me.....thank goodness.
I hope DR GINNY's suitcase makes its way home.
-
My question for ASK BK Day?
What do you think of the new old Harper Lee book being published?
-
More snow headed my way.....but mostly north of me.....thank goodness.
I hope DR GINNY's suitcase makes its way home.
Thanks, DR JRand - the suitcase was delivered at 5 this morning and my FedEx just brought my bag o' swag. Per DR Jane's request, here is a photo:

-
That's not all 18 pounds of my ALA stuff. Some of it is professional journals and catalogs that aren't very photogenic. This is the prettiest and most interesting.
-
Very nice. I like to keep photographic evidence of swag from a trip.
-
Nice swag, Ginny!
-
Thanks, DRs ChasSmith and George!
-
Good afternoon.
I got another jury notice. As I recall, the last one I had two years and one month ago, a big trial had just started. A big one. With news camera trucks all around the courthouse.
It was Jody Arias. Two YEARS ago.
-
I was joking with my family that my two years of being jury-free was up and it was about time to get another summons. I get one every time I am eligible.
-
Well she's on the retrial of the sentencing phase DR LAURA....so you're safe from that one.....
-
As long as they don't throw out this jury and start over next month. I would be perfect for the jury. I don't watch tv, don't listen to the radio except in the car, and don't click on any internet news stories about her. I am as ignorant as possible.
-
Ah....well they've tried everything else. I will let you know.
-
Nice stuff DR GINNY!!
-
Update.
Yes I am going to have a partial knee replacement. The doctor has sent the paper work to Workman's Comp.
BUT
and there is always a but
My thyroid situation may delay the actual date of the operation.
There seems to be a correlation with what my thyroid is doing and what it can do to the knee replacement.
I will be out of work for a minimum of six weeks probably more.
-
From DR Ginny:
Nope, and she'd already checked her bag. But she was able to get it back. I don't know where she's staying.
What a nuisance. I always carry enough with me to get through a night without my checked suitcase, if I check one.
-

Except for waking you up that early ;)

I am back from the Old Actor's Lunch AND my internet is working again!
-
I need to learn how to download music to youtube. i've decided I need a channel if I'm to market myself better.

Thank you for the photo. I like the bag!
I've only read two books in your collection. I'm not sure I want to read the sequel to DOC put probably will. It was interesting to learn there is one.
I can't read the author of Coconut and can't find the book online. What is it?
Have you read the first Midwife book and the other books in the series prior to Tradition of Deceit?
I marked a couple "to be read". I will be curious which books you like out of your selection here.
-

LOL I had wondered :)

I almost told you to bite your tongue so I am not surprised at all you received a summons ;D
-

Really?!?
The good news is you are going forward with the partial replacement and finally getting taken care of, except.......
What can be done about your thyroid situation? Did your surgeon have any suggestions?
-
Good evening!
-
Page 3!
-
And now, I'm off to see Memphis!
Be back later!
-
Back from rehearsal, a meeting with the sound designer, and then finally some food - a cup of soup and a sandwich.
-
We have returned from Rob and Mary Linda's church where we attended dinner and a service for Candlemas. It's snowing pretty hard now, but the roads weren't slick - yet.
-
Um, we are barely on page three? Really?
-
I'm not being snarky Larry but you upload music to youtube, not download it. When you send something to YT, that's uploading. It's usually slower than downloading. I don't know anything about creating your own channel on Youtube but I know that it's possible. It can't be that difficult. I know lots of people who have their own channels.
-
DR elmore3003 - you might consider Soundcloud, as well. That's purely audio - I know a lot of composers and ensembles that use that for promotion and distribution.
-
Um, we are barely on page three? Really?
I have no idea what you're talking about. :)

DR Jane, the only authors in this batch I've read are Mary Doria Russell (who could not get to Chicago because of the weather) and Elizabeth Berg (who lives in the Chicago area). I'm looking forward to reading some new (to me) authors.
COCONUT is subtitled "The Complete Guide to the World's Most Versatile Superfood," and the author is Stephanie Pedersen. There's some background info, but the book is mostly recipes.
-
Just got my sheet music folio for the film of Into the Woods. It has the songs, many of them in new keys for the first time, and also the music for the new song for the Witch (cut for the film, but will be on the video release).
-
I can't remember how I set up my two channels, but it was simply the click of a button somewhere.

I wondered if it was a cookbook. I'll pass on using coconut.
What a shame Mary Doria Russell could not be there is that was the plan. I would have liked to hear her speak. I've not read Berg.
-
I could use some good test result vibes for tomorrow. I'm finding out how my bones are doing and my risk for breaking them again.

Mary lives in Cleveland and I first heard her speak at a state-level conference when THE SPARROW was new and she wasn't very well-known. I've heard her a couple more times and she's very entertaining. I've also heard Elizabeth Berg many times and have liked most of her books, except THE ART OF MENDING.

Test result vibes for DR Jane! I'm also having a test tomorrow - every woman's second favorite routine screening...

DR Jane - do Berners drool a lot?
Do they slobber a lot after drinking water?
Just curious...

Oy! This page 3 is simply never-ending!

Page 3?

Page 3? WTF?

Thanks for the youtube/soundcloud info. I never felt you were being snarky in the least, DR Ben! Upload? Download? What do I know?
-
My day was pretty much a carload of crap. I do hope tomorrow is better.
-
Hw fa page 4 are we? Goddammit.
-
Why does bailing water on the Titanic come to mind?
-
Or rearranging deck chairs?
-
This is ridiculous.

This should do it.

Wow.

There's a story with this photo. Of course.
-
A friend of mine just posted it on Facebook and it brought back a whole slew of memories of one of my favorite days in journalism.
-
Sometime in the mid-1990s, I found myself running the bureau office where I worked. My boss was out because her father had died and the other editor was on vacation, so I found myself working for 17 or 18 days straight.
-
I was exhausted. It was a Saturday afternoon and word came in that a pod of whales was threatening to beach themselves off the coast of Englewood near Boca Grande.
-
I got permission to send a photographer up in a helicopter while I found a friend with a boat who was willing to take a reporter out to the scene and talk with the state workers who were trying to redirect the pod.
-
Upload? Download?
Isn't that a song from Follies?
-
A fellow co-worker and I decided to tag along because the rest of our work was done. So, we headed out on the boat, got the story (which the competition lacked) and enjoyed an amazing trip as we watched the workers successfully redirect most of the pod. A mother and her calf did beach themselves.
-
We managed to get the story written and edited in time for it run on the front page. A fine end to the lengthy work stretch.
-
Upload? Download?
Isn't that where the Bronx and Battery are?
-
I rewarded myself with a five-day trip to Costa Rica.
-
Can we move this along?
-
Thank you for that story John G! That sounds like an amazing experience!!
-
worked 13 hours today
-
Still need another few days like that to catch up
-
Knee vibes and thyroid vibes DR Mike i hope all goes well
-
Knee vibes and thyroid vibes DR Mike i hope all goes well
A double dose.
-
Great story, DR John G. I hope your bosses were suitably impressed when they got back.
-
Watching one of those Jessie Matthews musicals from England, "Head Over Heels." I don't always understand her appeal, but she's fun in this one.
-
Great story, DR John G. I hope your bosses were suitably impressed when they got back.
They gave me the time off to go to Costa Rica without claiming it as time off.
-
I really don't want to work tonight.
-
Tap class was fun. Our teacher is trying to get us to learn the soft shoe. I feel like I'm wearing lead shoes.
-
worked 13 hours today
Bet that was fun.
-
worked 13 hours today
Bet that was fun.
yep it was peachy keen
-
I really needed to clean house tonight because a friend is coming over tomorrow to watch Boyhood. I just couldn't get the energy up to do it. SO, I guess she will see me as I am. I will run the vacuum and clean the bathroom, and do the dishes. At least that's the thought. I really hate to be such a slug, but after a long day at work and the temps below zero, I just don't have the energy to do it.
-
I'm actually afraid I'm getting sick I really hope I'm not
-
I worked late and didn't really have time to get to band rehearsal so I just came home and have been sitting in the recliner.
-
I've had a bad headache all day. I did a lot of work anyway, but I'm not a happy camper.
-
If I still feel bad in the morning I may have to postpone the movie watching.
-
Good evening, ladies!
-
Barely on page five.
-
It is nice to be able to post again.
-
I guess if I take Thursday afternoon off and work Saturday morning it's a wash. I can leave at noon tomorrow and clean the house well enough by 4:00. I think that's what I'll do
-
It's nice to see you TCB
-
I need to take my headache and go to bed.
-
I need to take my headache and go to bed.
Feel better, Cilla. Nice seeing you too.
-
I am sorry I missed Vixmom. I wanted to tell her that I am trying for that Powerball Jackpot for her.
-

I hear ya. I feel like that way too much lately.
-
I need to take my headache and go to bed.
Feel better vibes.
-
My sister and brother-in-law are bringing my new Wolfgang Puck Oven over tomorrow, and I really wanted to pick up the clutter, but I am so tired. They will have to live with it.
-
The last few days I have been in a lot of pain. My shoulder feels like it was pulled out of its socket. Not very easy to use the wheelchair with my shoulder screwed up.
-
I missed a lot of birthdays while I was off-line.
Belated wishes to Ben, Iris, Donald, and Edi. Also, I hope that Kerry got my birthday wishes.
-
I guess John left, too.
-
Well, I guess I should say good night, also.
-
G'night!
-
Proofer two arrived so I went through all that with Muse Margaret, and then spent an hour putting in the ones we agreed with. There were some very good catches, including some really lazy writing, where I used a phrase about twenty times and not to any purpose. I do love and am known for comic repetition or repetition for style, but this wasn't that. I ended up removing every instance of it save for one, which I reworded slightly. So, I think we're just about done with this phase.
-
I could use some good test result vibes for tomorrow. I'm finding out how my bones are doing and my risk for breaking them again.
~~~Bone Test Vibes for Jane!!~~~
-
Memphis tonight was very good.
-
There were about 850 tickets presold (out of 983 seats).
-
The Washington Center (starting this season) produces a brochure for the entire season, and then does inserts for the individual shows. Well, for some reason, they didn't print enough inserts with all the cast and crew info, and so many people were asking for the inserts.
-
A couple of people were actually mad that we ran out of them.
-
After the show, I told the house manager about the irate patrons, and I had the suggestion that they put the insert information online in a downloadable archive section on their website. He said that that was a good idea and that they probably can very easily do that!
-
Hopefully, it'll actually happen. :)
-
As for the show itself, the audience loved it. They gave a standing ovation.
-
The singing and acting were very good.
-
The dancing of the chorus was pretty good, but a couple seemed like they were still learning.
-
But they all had a lot of energy and sold it.
-
And now since we're so close...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
