Well, you've read the notes, the notes got their kicks on Route 66, and now it is time for you to post until the spam-filled cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TRIBOLOGY!
-
First post after BK.
-
farfalle in a light cream sauce".......
Wasn't that Paul Winchell's dog?
-
Maybe it wasn't chicken.
-
Hi, Tom! Have you ever been to, or heard of, The Tofu Hut in Lacey?
-
Would you ever go to The Tofu Hut in Lacey...or anywhere??
-
Hi, Tom! Have you ever been to, or heard of, The Tofu Hut in Lacey?
Ahh, no.
-
Would you ever go to The Tofu Hut in Lacey...or anywhere??
Ahhh, no.
-
Why do you ask?
-
Well, with Patti LuPone being in the news again because of the latest cell phone incident, it reminded me that she's coming to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in September!
-
Well, with Patti LuPone being in the news again because of the latest cell phone incident, it reminded me that she's coming to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in September!
And you want to take her to dinner at The Tofu Hut?
-
EXCEPT THAT NOW SHE ISN'T!! :'(
-
Why do you ask?
I was just curious.
-
Huh?
-
What does The Tofu Hut have to do wth Miss Patti?
-
A friend asked if I would buy tickets to the concert for her (she gave me the money) because she was going ti be on a plane when the tickets went on sale, so yesterday I got a call from the WCPA box office saying that they had to cancel the concert because of Patti's new shooting schedule for "Penny Dreadful" and none of Patti's alternate dates worked for The Center.
-
What does The Tofu Hut have to do wth Miss Patti?
Nothing. I was attempting two different conversation topics and I shouldn't have. Clear as mud?
Sorry about the confusion.
-
Have you been drinking at The Tofu Hut tonight, George?
-
Okay. Have you eaten at TTH?
-
I am sorry that Patti will not be performing in Olympia.
-
Okay. Have you eaten at TTH?
I hadn't before last night, but my sister and niece have been going for years, so I knew about it. I know a couple of other people who also love it.
-
And?
-
Have you been drinking at The Tofu Hut tonight, George?
You can't tell by my posts, but only diet cola.
;)
-
And?
I was just making conversation. Maybe I need to delete ALL my posts and start over.
-
And how was the food?
-
No one else would ever have to know!
-
Usually if I eat down in the Lacey area, I eat at Hawk's Prairie.
-
And how was the food?
It was actally pretty good. If I ever went back with my sister and/or my niece, I certainly wouldn't mind it.
-
No one else would ever have to know!
I would know.
-
Usually if I eat down in the Lacey area, I eat at Hawk's Prairie.
The last time I went there was probably in 1985.
-
I love Hawk's Prairie!
-
No one else would ever have to know!
I would know.
Hence the word "else."
;D
-
I love Hawk's Prairie!
Maybe the next time you're down here and want some company, I could join you.
-
I forgot to call today to see if they have any tickets left for Johnny Mathis at the Pantages in Tacoma.
-
I love Hawk's Prairie!
Maybe the next time you're down here and want some company, I could join you.
That would be great. They have great breakfasts, and luckily for you, they serve it all day.

Love that!

I like to go down there on weekends. Although, now that I am retired, I guess I don't have to just go on weekends.
-
Next Friday night on PBS, DRIVING MISS DAISY starring Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones, with Boyd Gaines.
-
In general, weekends would work better for me because it's not to close to where I work and the amount of time to take for lunch is more than my usual...but I have a flexible schedule, so it's not really a great concern.

Cool! I knew that it was coming on, but I didn't find out when.

Great! Just not this weekend. I'm booked up.

Hmmm, hot date?
Sadly, very sadly, no. I have to help my sister unload a couch from a truck this morning, and then I'm helping clean up The Midnight Sun after last month's production of "Tartuffe," and then the family celebrating my sister's boyfriend's birthday. In amongst all of that, I MUST do some laundry.
-
Well, I'm booked this weekend, too.
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom...and anyone else around here.

Here's Playbill's obituary for Roger Rees, who passed away at 71
http://playbill.com/news/article/roger-rees-stage-actor-made-famous-by-nicholas-nickleby-dies-at-71-351533
-
Here's the Associated Press obituary (the link seems to be to the Times site)
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/07/11/arts/ap-us-obit-roger-rees.html
-
Good morning, all.
Sleep? What is sleep?
What am I, vixmom all of a sudden?
Coffee!
-
Must drink the potion, then get my arse up and moving in the general direction of the library sale.
-
Good morning, all! I woke up to the news of Roger Rees' death, and it saddens me. He was a fantastic actor and a very lovely man, whom I only saw occasionally. I remember running into him once in LA at that wonderful donut restaurant when I was out mixing an album with BK, and the last time I saw him was around five or six years ago when I was in the Verizon store to get a new cell phone after I had dropped mine into a pot of boiling water; I made him laugh when I told him that my cell phone was now a vegetable.
-
Roger Rees....gone.
-
I would not go within 20 feet of a restaurant called The Tofu Hut.
-
Last night we had a very responsive audience....no one left....and the actors followed their notes.
I am hoping we have another GREAT performance tonight!
-
Today, I have work on the Moross score. I have to transfer my markings to the copy going to my colleague Dan for cues and fixes.
I do need a run to the market for celery and perhaps more.

He was at the "Herringbone" CD release party in December, of course, since he'd directed the performance that's on the CD.
-
good morning to all
-
tod
both actors are not the kind where I have to their newest film. They have done some fine fine films over the year but none can be classified a favorite of theirs
-
DR Jane I am here. I've just been catching up on posts.
-
The weather is so nice. I've been to the pool a lot!
-
I thought we had Dustin Hoffman films not too long ago!
Hoffman:
Marathon Man
Midnight Cowboy
Finding Neverland
All the President's Men
Meet the Fockers
Redgrave
Morgan
Blow Up
Camelot
Isadora
The Devils

I would not go within 20 feet of a restaurant called The Tofu Hut.
The name reminds me of The Pita Hut which was a great disappointment to me. I would still try it for the tofu. During our 6 weeks in hotels only Tai restaurants offered tofu options for us.
-
Hi Jennifer.
-
Well, you've read the notes, the notes got their kicks on Route 66, and now it is time for you to post until the spam-filled cows come home.
.
I think I will wear one of my route 66 shorts along with my matching hat.
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. Maybe six hours of sleep.
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. Maybe six hours of sleep.
That's about what I got. I was up too late watching the BBC version of CRANFORD.
-
Speaking of spammers ... I can see through the front window that the JWs are out and about today.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Good to see we're on page 3 about 4 hours earlier than yesterday!
-
Okay I have to get ready to go early to work in the box office from 5-7, and I want to get some more stickers put in the programs so that we have plenty for tonight.
So that's how I'm getting my kicks.
It will be nice to have Sunday and Monday off. :D
-
I've been to market and now I'm enjoying the AC.
I had a Moross festival this morning; I listened to The Golden Apple and the 1963 City Opera premiere of Gentlemen, Be Seated! I can't tell if the missing sections are from the original bootleg tape or performance cuts. The opening of Act Two is completely gone, but I suspect that's an error by the original recorder. The late great Carol Brice is absolutely amazing on Harriet Tubman's The Freedom Train" and the closing lament for Abraham Lincoln, "Have You Seen Him?" There's no one like her today.
-
I haven't actually been on HHW all night and morning; I just forgot to log out.
-
The movie with orchestra was truly delightful and a lot of fun. They packed the hall.
The conductor looked like she was just winging it (synchronicity-wise) with sight cues. Perhaps the movie is just of an older vintage which doesn't lend itself to electronic wizardry.
-
Just dropping in briefly to say "hello".
The surgery went well, but the recovery is going to be several weeks or months.
I've spent the last few days mostly sleeping.
-
I've only seen THE LOVED ONE once.
I saw it the week after my father died, so I really didn't appreciate the humor.
-
We made buckwheat pancakes this morning for breakfast.
-
Glad everything went well, DR Druxy.
Speedy recovery!
-
Off to a Handel rehearsal.
-
Howdy.
Just a quick check-in between library sale, a bunch of errands, and it being about time to get ready to pack the car with food and drink and head over to the outdoor venue for HAIRSPRAY. Really looking forward to seeing and hearing it, however good or bad it might be. I suspect it's pretty good, even though I have no knowledge of the director or music director, or any idea how the band might be. But it's been over a year since I last immersed myself in the material, and I shall enjoy myself regardless.
-
It's 83 and clear here, a perfect summer day -- which I'll be able to enjoy infinitely better once I've cleaned up because I'm stinky and need a shower and a change of clothes.
-
Apologies for the stinky part of that post.
-
But I am pretty gross.
-
Ripe.
-
So what did I come home from the sale with?
Not much. A few Broadway CDs, a German cast album of MY FAIR LADY on vinyl, and just a couple of paperbacks to read and pass on.
That said, it was quite a good sale, lots of decent stuff of various types for those who want it. Some music, too, though the only thing I would have had an interest in was a stack of Webern miniature scores. I wasn't willing to gamble on remembering which ones I have, so I would have had to take the lot. Oddly, there was not one thing of Berg or Schoenberg, which I'd certainly expect to see alongside a stack of Webern.
-
I also stopped in at Barnes and Noble to place my pre-order for Harper Lee's GO SET A WATCHMAN for Tuesday pickup. Listening to all the hype about it (and I don't mean hype in a bad way), I finally had to give in.
-
So that's it for me till late tonight.
-

http://playbill.com/news/article/roger-rees-stage-actor-made-famous-by-nicholas-nickleby-dies-at-71-351533
That was the first story I noticed when I went to check my e-mail. :(
-
Vixdad and I I went to ihop for breakfast where I once again indulged myself with a peach blackberry cobbler breAnkfast
-
I would not go within 20 feet of a restaurant called The Tofu Hut.
Well, that's okay, too. ;D
-
Then I to the bank and acquired a new debit card
-
Then I tested it by going here and there and obtaining mothers birthday gifts
-
Gift cards to three local restaurants in town
-
The Texas road house
-
The Chinese talkeout place
-
Last night we had a very responsive audience....no one left....and the actors followed their notes.

It's 83 and clear here, a perfect summer day -- which I'll be able to enjoy infinitely better once I've cleaned up because I'm stinky and need a shower and a change of clothes.
I'm back from helping my sister and her boyfriend unload a leather reclining loveseat from the truck of a friend of hers.
-
Then I went to The Midnight Sun to help other board members of TAO clean up, but I had to leave and come home so that I could take another shower so that I could be clean enough to go out with the family to celebrate my sister's boyfriend's birthday today.
-
I also need to start a load of laundry before I take a shower so that it'll all be done and dry before I have to leave.
-
100!!
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. Maybe six hours of sleep.
Some people think that is a lot of sleep ;)
-
I also stopped in at Barnes and Noble to place my pre-order for Harper Lee's GO SET A WATCHMAN for Tuesday pickup. Listening to all the hype about it (and I don't mean hype in a bad way), I finally had to give in.
I am very hesitant to read it. Since I am now 19 books behind my reading schedule, vs my normal 3-4 books ahead, I wouldn't rush to get it anyway.
-
my IPAD ran out of juice so now I m ont eh laptop
-
the thirs restaurant was a pizza/italian restaurant
-
DR Druxy I am pleased your surgery went well.
Enjoy your extra sleep.
HEALING VIBES!!!
-
and I also bought her a gift card to BJ's (its like Costco)
-
and we also bought her a new phone with 4 wireless handsets
-
then Vixdada and I went over to my folks and installed teh ohoen s and gave her the cards

I thought my library had ordered the e-book, but they hadn't. I went into our OverDrive site and had to "recommend" that they buy it. Hopefully, they will. They did order the regular print book (208 holds so far), the large print book (85 holds), and the talking book on CD (49 holds), so I'm pretty sure that they will order the e-book.
-
Mt Boston brother had sent her flowers
-
my local brother waS THERE there weeeding her garden
-
It is only 71 degrees so we have the air turned off. It is a bit muggy though.
-
and her cousin was visiting
-
my SIL was home cooking a dinner to bring over to my Mom;s for their meal tonight
-
It was comfortable walking around our growers market, until the bag loaded with fruits and veggies became rather heavy. We also purchased 2 half flats of delicious blueberries we carried separately.
-
Vixdad and I I went to ihop for breakfast where I once again indulged myself with a peach blackberry cobbler breAnkfast
After unloading the loveseat, my sister made French toast. It was all so yummy!
-
tomorrow the Vixter will take my dad out to lunch while I take my mom out to lunch
-
Keith found a sign for his office which says "Many Cave". The room is now complete. It is beautiful. I know my office won't look nearly as nice.
-
And now, I must do some laundry and take a shower.
Until later!
-
Vixdad and I I went to ihop for breakfast where I once again indulged myself with a peach blackberry cobbler breAnkfast
Sounds yummy.

We would have purchased cranberry challa today to make french toast tomorrow but they were out of it.

Interesting you are going different places. I expect your parent's also enjoy the one on one attention :)

Saturday evening greetings! Richard still has his cold and he's not a happy camper. He finally went to the doctor yesterday, but there's not much they can do but let it run its course. Found out today that Mom has it, too.
All in all, I'd rather be back in California.
-

I preordered it on Amazon as soon as it was announced. I got one for me and one for mom. They should be delivered Monday, which is very good timing as I'm hoping to do some reading while I take it easy next week
-
And I'm hoping to finally read Adriana's latest adventure
-
I've been very busy today getting things done that I won't be able to right after surgery, getting the water for my dispenser, salt for the water softener, stuff like that. I've also gotten a bunch of other chores done and plan on doing more tonight. I've lost weight and it's given me a burst of energy.
-
We're having our first real heat wave. So, I'm planning to do things inside the next couple days - although I may go to the car show and get a raffle ticket for the restored 1968 mustang.
-
Paul and I are going to a movie tomorrow afternoon to celebrate my birthday, I wanted to see Minions but the reviews are so good for Inside Out we decided to see that. It's been here for a little while so the crowd may be smaller than Minions
-
"Many Cave".
Does it really say that?
:)
-
We did not have lunch today; we were both quite full from the pancakes this morning.
We are splurging tonight and having a vegan pizza delivered.
-
Actually the crowd won't be made of people smaller than minions, it may smaller than the number of people going to see Minions, the movie

Watermelon is good for summer colds.
-
And I'm hoping to finally read Adriana's latest adventure
Bruce will I ever be able to read it as an ebook?
-
"Many Cave".
Does it really say that?
:)
LOL Nope. It says "Man Cave".
-
I have no idea how a y got in there.
-
I'm thinking not unless I send you a code for a free download - but George had trouble with that and I don't know if it was solved.
-
Had a very long but productive work session - all songs assigned all arrangements done.
-
Then Sami and mom came - we ran all the monologues that had rewrites - she's getting much more natural with them, which is just what we want, and she pretty much has them down. We also sang through about half the songs.
-
Then we went to Boneyard Bistro and had barbecue. Excellent.
-
Then when I came home I go all the singers their music, so we're actually quite ahead of the game right now. Next will be figuring out the show order, then writing the patter.
-
tomorrow the Vixter will take my dad out to lunch while I take my mom out to lunch
Interesting you are going different places. I expect your parent's also enjoy the one on one attention :)
I was thinking it was a birthday gift of a couple hours away from her husband.
-

A vegan pizza? Isn't that just the cardboard box?

Is this going to be the last show? Or will you go until the end of the year?

You are correct , Sir

We just got back from my mom's again. We went back and had cake (carvel chocolate & vanilla invoice cream cake with the chocolate cookie crunchies) and coffee fro my mom's birthday

Just because we didn't comment doesn't mean we didn😋t notice
-
Of course in my case I didn😈t notice at all
-
I noticed, DR TCB.
-
Well, at least they can't say that we didn't get to Page 6.
-
I have every bk book on my Kindle, and at some point would love to add the latest one to my collection, if that ever becomes possible.
-
Wedidn😎t have lunch today for the same reason Singading too full of IHOP.
-
I noticed.
-
And I am back from a phenomenal HAIRSPRAY.
-
We just got back from my mom's again. We went back and had cake (carvel chocolate & vanilla invoice cream cake with the chocolate cookie crunchies) and coffee fro my mom's birthday
You are torturing me.
-
Vixmom, does your Carvel's store sell their chocolate crunchies?
-
The crunchies are very tasty on coffee ice cream.
-
Haagen daz coffee.
-
I used to order the vanilla ice cream cakes with double crunchies. I can eadily skip their chocolate ice cream.
-
ugh! I live miles from the Hard Rock Hotel and could hear the concert bass boom boom boom inside my house with the windows open, the ac on and the tv on. I complained and wasn't the only one complaining.
-
I posted something on the hard rock fb page and got attacked left and right, but it doesn't matter, I lodged the complaint with the police and send an email to the city council. It probably won't make a difference, but at least I tried
-
Glad a book is about to be read.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Had some melon balls and an ounce of trail mix.
-
I'm thinking not unless I send you a code for a free download - but George had trouble with that and I don't know if it was solved.
It sort of was, but it wasn't. I could've read it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet, but the size of the font was very small and not scaleable. And it never worked on my Kindle. I broke down and read the physical book in an afternoon. :)
-
