Well, you've read the notes, the notes had little amounts of something, and now it is time for you to post until the little cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ALEXITERIC!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB's first post after BK!
;)
-
And just for the sake of actually having a free-for-all topic, here is an idea:
If you should possess the magic powers to make this happen, in what motion picture would you insert yourself and what character would you play?
-
Has anyone else seen the new TV Guide? It's shrunk again, but not to its original size. It is halfway between the two sizes. Very weird.
-
Today's going to be a long day for me. My sister and niece are on the board of Olympia's chapter of PFLAG and they're having their annual picnic get-together. I originally said that I would help set up and actually go to the picnic, but a couple of weeks ago my union scheduled a joint base unit/supervisor unit meeting for the same day. So, I'll go at noon to help set up the picnic, which officially starts at 1:00 pm, then I'll go to my union meeting at 2:00 pm (fortunately, they're close to each other). That'll take at least a couple of hours, then I'll go back to the picnic if it's still going on. If it's over, I'll find out if my parents and aunt are at my sister's house or their house and go there. I'll visit until I have to be back at the theater by 7:30 pm for tonight's performance.
And that'll be my day, today.

I don't think I've seen an actual TV Guide magazine in years.

You have a Sunday evening performance?

Yup...and at 9:00 pm! I don't know who made that decision. ::)

Don't you ever go to a supermarket or to Fred Meyer's? They are right at the check stands.

I usually use the self-checkout at Fred Meyer and they don't have the magazines there.

First in the actual morning!
-
Not that "first in the morning" counts for anything!
-
I woke up very alert, but just reading about the productive busy Sunday George has ahead of him was exhausting. :)
-
first after FJL
-
MY ask BK question (since its anything goes day)
What does a line producer do?
-
TCB- assuming I was the right age and had the necessary talents:
Anna in the King & I first comes to mind just so I could dance in that glorious dress
-
I just washed my hair, and I can't do a thing with it!
-
I thought DR TCB might be pleased when he logged into HHW last night and saw that he didn't have to vamp for a few pages. :)
-
didn't have to vamp for a few pages. :)
Remember CHER doing "a scamp, a camp and a bit of a tramp, it takes a V-A-M-P - vamp!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsXjxJ6wIJM
-
That was on in the family hour back then! :)
"Marc Antony and Caesar fell into her grasp
She might have conquered Rome except for one small asp"
-
My, how times have changed!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Watching that Sally Struthers walking video, it struck me that her speaking voice is, in some ways, very similar to Ruth Gordon's.
-
Was it my imagination, but for a video about walking where she's the star, didn't she take a lot of opportunities to sit down on a bench and shmooze with the camera while other people did the power-walking.
-
Good morning, all! I was in bed by 9:30 last night. I was very tired. I watched the last MAPP &LUCIA episode from 1986, then a second season episode of FOYLE'S WAR, and crashed. I figure I got about 9 hours of sleep and that's plenty.
-
I hope I will see my friend Andrea again today at some point. I'm having my conversation with Howard Pollack this morning, and i have a small msic commission as well.
-
I had several peculiar dreams last night, none of which I remember much about now. One had to do with an office supplies company where I worked in the 1970s and one was about Goodspeed in East Haddam, CT. It's all too vague now.
-
Good news about your aunt, DR George!
-
Sunday morning greetings! I begged off going to Lima today, because my 4 days of papercrafting in Cincinnati wore me out. It was actually 3 days of crafting and 1 day (yesterday) of shopping, but I now have some new skills, ideas, and LOTS of new stuff to work with.
-
I hope I will see my friend Andrea again today at some point....
Give her a hug from me, DR Elmore! I'm so glad you two have been able to get together.
And, next time we're in NYC, I want to go to Cafe Frida!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I just washed my hair, and I can't do a thing with it!
Did you have a man in it?
-
Good morning to all

MY ask BK question (since its anything goes day)
What does a line producer do?
Since BK isn't up yet.
From wikipedia
A line producer is a type of film producer that functions as the key manager during the daily operations of a feature film, television film or the episode of a TV program. A line producer works on one film at a time.
-
Continued vibes to all that need them.

Very interesting notes about Deliverance.
My memory places it at the Dome, so if that's correct, it had to have been only the second or third film I saw there after moving from Cleveland, Ohio to Hollywood, USA. (The first was Frenzy, opening night.)
I didn't know anything about it, but friends did and they wanted to see it, so we all went and I remember feeling unnerved by it (for all the reasons in it) the rest of the evening. The next time I saw it in a theater was years later at that crazy one out east on Hollywood Blvd. across from the Pix or nearly so, on a zillionth run, perhaps on a double bill (possibly with Southern Comfort, which would be appropriate)...and it still had its impact on the big screen. Great film.
-
Well, I must be getting along on this last day of the film festival. Will try to peak in during the day, but won't be getting home till very late tonight.

I saw "Deliverance" when it was first released. I have no urge to ever see it again. I'll wait for the musical.

She's seeing a friend at 3:00 and I'm here until noon, so I'm hoping I'll see her later in the afternoon.

Good morning!

Well....it really was a good show. Everyone was very good. The staging was good....the dancing was okay, but seemed to be dancing for dance sake and not really connected to the material....but it wasn't off-putting.
IT'S A LONG SHOW! Intermission came at 9:45....and several people left.... The show ended at 11:07. Just so long. Nothing really dragged, but so many reprises and songs that go on and on and come back and come back. I think it's more of a matinee show for me than an evening show.....
Four more performances next week, and then WE get the stage!

Way too long. And not a good show, in my opinion.

No. I stopped getting it when they changed the size and content. For years they would call and ask me to renew but they didn't seem to care about my reason for not renewing.

We now shop at Fred Meyer. I will have to look for it.

Bang! You're dead.

I suppose I'm up - I think I got nine hours of sleep.

As said, a line producer is the producer who really does the nuts and bolts work day to day - in other words, not just a title, but the guy who attends to all the details.
-
Yesterday our high school class had a little gathering. I have been looking at the photos and comments on facebook and wishing we could have gone.
-
Strangely enough, at least in what I've seen in theatre and indie film, it's far far easier to find a line producer who gets hired and often gets paid for their work, than it is to get a titled "producer" (or group of "producers") who gets his or her title for having brought money to the project, either money of their own or having the ability to convince other people to put in their money. :)

I stopped buying TV GUIDE when they stopped having local editions and turned into PEOPLE Magazine.....
I am sure it was a pain to do all those editions and get them into stores in the racks....but that was what it was known for....now as a TV Guide, it's fairly useless except in a general way.

It was going downhill before turning into People magazine. I think they were having too much difficulty keeping up with all the new stations. It is a shame they couldn't be more creative in keeping up with the times.

Still on Page 2?
-
Where is everybody?
-
I have been copying a song in my best hand as a wedding anniversary gift. I get so caught up in trying to be perfect that I screw it up and have to begin again.
-
I think the last round looks pretty good, though.
-
And I believe this should finish the page and take us to the next.
-
Oy!
-
Bingo!
-
No word yet from my friend Andrea. Maybe I won't see her today.
-
I need a nap. and I am craving a nectarine.
-
CRAVING A NECTARINE - that should be the title of something
-
I need a nap. and I am craving a nectarine.
But not necessarily in that order.

-
Good afternoon, all.
It's hot as blazes here.
-
No time today for much of anything.
-
Because of doing too much.
-
Off to dinner in a minute.
-
Our upstairs neighbor was walking by so we had him in for a visit. Since he is a Westie Terrier we invited his mother in as well.

a Westie Terrier
They are so cute!!
-
I know nothing about them, however. Are they generally high-strung, personality-wise?
-
We were surprised to discover the tall building we can see across the river is actually 42 stories tall, across 2 rivers, and in downtown Portland. We can see, maybe, the top third or more of it.
You can see why it is called Big Pink.

This is the 2nd one we have gotten to know well and both have been sweethearts, and smart too. We feel honored that he no longer barks when he sees us since he only barks at people he doesn't know. He took turns sitting our laps.
-
Oh, since he came from a coastal town his name is Salty :)
-
There are lots of dogs here and we are doing our best to meet and become friends with all of them. Salty is special though.
-
Glad to hear your aunt is better, DR George!
-
My cable company offers TV Guide for $4 a month. I think I'm being overcharged. I could probably get a subscription for less than $48 a year. I keep meaning to call the cable company anyway to cancel some of the channels I never watch.
-
I haven't seems TV guide inyears
-
Salty is a good dog name.
-
Did some laundry
-
Did some cleaning
-
Ran some errands for my mom
-
Went to the folks and visited for a while
-
Vixdad washout and so I indulged my self a little
-
I took a little swim and then got on my lounge float and alternately dozed and read
-
Then the phone rang.
-
I had brought the portable phone outside
-
I was very surprised when I answered and so did Vixdad
-
He had come home saw me relaxing a kindly decided to let me be
-
But then came in a made dinner
-
Quesadillas
-
Onion, yellow, red and green peppere and mushrooms sautéed
-
Shredded cheddar and Colby jack cheese
-
Soft totillas
-
Crisped them up in the skillet
-
Served them up with medium salsa, sour cream and some chopped tomato
-
And now a little toffee ice cream
-
And a mugofcoffee with a pouring of Kalhua and some Bailys vanilla brown sugar creamer
-
And now watching True Detective with Vixdad
-
Watched a movie, finished the commentary, haven't jogged yet and may not get to as I may have to wait to find out when a couple of visitors are coming, and I'm relaxing now. I had a couple of tuna sandwiches on mini-hamburger buns - very good.
-
Salty is a good dog name.
I think so.
-
He had come home saw me relaxing a kindly decided to let me be
That's sweet.
-
Quesadillas
I would eat these. They sound good. I did scroll all the way down to see how you made them.
-
And now a little toffee ice cream
TOFFEE ice cream!!! Where did you get it.
-
Good evening.

It's the store brand... waldbaums , which is part of the A&P, Pathmark conglomerate that just declared bankruptcy so it may not be around for much longer
-
Good evening.
Wait, what?! Who can sit in the back with the snakes?
-
Good news about your aunt, DR George!
Thanks, Larry!
-
I'm at the theater, just waiting for the show. I think if no one shows up, we'll cancel, but I don't know if any tickets were pre-sold.
-
I was just speaking to one of the actors who said that he was told thst thete are no pre-sold tickets, nor any comps, so we'll see if we get any walk up.
-
Ended up doing a jog.
-
Glad to hear your aunt is better, DR George!
Thanks, Kevin!
-
Well, I need to go. My tablet is almost out of power and I didn't bring my charging cable, which means I have no way to charge it up. So, I'll be back...sooner or later.

Good evening
-
Mother Nature has lied to us.
-
We were supposed to have a break of at least a week from the hot weather.
-
Instead, it was 84 degrees today.
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be upper-eighties.
-
Then on Tuesday it is supposed to be back in the 90's.
-
The draught continues.
-
God, the movie version of ANNIE is terrible.
-
This is the original, not the remake.
-
I have managed to avoid the new production.
-
Talk about being over produced!
-
Albert Finney was better as SCROOGE.
-
Thank goodness that is over.
-
Health vibes to all who need them!!
-
Has anyone heard from Dan?
-
We need to get a phone number for that guy.
-
Congratulations to DR elmore on being asked to speak in Ohio.
-
Jane, Sharry's dog, Katie, passed away today with them at home.
-
Yes, where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I had a visit from our very own Robert Yacko. The helper is supposed to come by, hopefully soon. Otherwise, I've just been doing stuff on the computer, including just sending all the music to our musical director.
-

Thanks, Vixmom! However, we did cancel tonight's show. Only five people showed up, so we polled the audience and they agreed to come back to a later show.

Pathmark is going out of business. I used to lve shopping there.
-
After leaving the theater, I got myself something to eat (Taco Bell) and now I'm at home up in my bedroom watching "Falling Skies."
-

Sigh. I am very sorry. At least they were with her.

It was, but one of tonight's audience is a board member, and tonight might've been the only night that he could've seen the show. He might be able to come back, but he might not.
