Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with pregnant pauses, and now it is time for you to post until the pregnant cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PENEPLAIN!
-
Hello.
-
Good early morning to all
-
Hope everyone has a great day
-
Good too-early morning, all.
My back was aching just enough to keep me tossing and turning, as was an interesting but annoying dream, so here I am.
-
Coffee!

Oh my god. I never knew about the place.

Oh my god.

Their sign is to die for, right off the bat.
And I want that first steak, whatever it is, that appears after the sign shot.
-
Is that the pepper steak?

Today I'm bringing the 1961 aluminum Christmas tree and its rotating music-playing base and its color wheel up from the basement. Need to see what shape it's in and whether we want to set it up. Remembering the small one we had in Florida in 1960 put a bug in my arse and I bought all of this off eBay just before prices started going through the roof on it back in the late '90s. This is around a five-footer. If it's a go, photographic evidence will be provided. Or I can post an old one.
-
Aluminum Christmas trees are a real thing? OMG! I thought that was just a construct from the original Peanuts television special!
-
~ ~ ~ really strong excellent vibes and xylophones for the part two miracle ~ ~ ~ for bk!!!
-
Very glad to read that the fundraiser for DR TCB's niece last evening was a success.
-
But ~ ~ ~ scooter vibes ~ ~ ~ for him, as well.
-
Sure enjoyed bk's account of his dinner last night. And perusing the menu that DR ChasSmith so graciously linked.

Yes, it was quite gracious of me! -- something I trust will not be forgotten during the Season of Giving this year.

Good morning, all! I managed to be out of bed, feeling not too drugged, by 8:15. Tomorrow, I need to be out of bed by 6:30, so pray fr me.

Happy Sunday.
I would like some ambrosia/5 in 1 salad today. If DR CILLA LIZ is expecting snow tomorrow, we may get some on Tuesday......so Monday shopping will get us ready.
-
Because I had to take my Father off the checking account, there is a hold on all transactions.....so our Social Security, Pension checks, and deposits are all put in....then taken back out....and then credited again in a day or two.
It is most irritating, and hopefully it will be done soon. One lady said 60 days, another one told me 8 to 10 weeks.....so I just have to keep watching.
-
I need to vacuum the apartment this morning and then get back to work on the Dreidl Song.
-
I also need to retrieve some music on one of my LaCie hard drives and download it to my iTunes.

Since today's the first Sunday of Advent, here's the opening section of my "Appalachian Carols for My Father," which I wrote for the Chamber Choir of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus around 1984. In twenty years as their staff arranger, I wrote a lot of pieces, some for special occasion, some revisons of things I'd written earlier for them, and maybe at most ten arrangements or compositions that I am really proud of. Sadly, most of those 10 were never commercially recorded and sit in limbo. the Appalachian Carols is one of them. this is an archival tape of the piece's first performance at Carnegie Hall, conducted by Dean X. Johnson. After 30 years, it still bothers me that he had the Chamber Choir sing the piece with southern accents. Dean was a talented man and a dear friend who died far too young.

Oy! Get ready for this one:
My main dream had to do with DR Elmore having just supplied the 16 or 32 bar insert of The Nutcracker that some of us, along with other members of the audience, had been permitted to join in dancing during last year's production. The music I think was playing in my head was the Grandfather's Dance. Then there was a rehearsal with all the kids, most of whom, fortunately, had already performed the piece. I'm not sure what I was doing in any of this. But it all ended with me suggesting to one of the women who was wearing a long fleece blue bathrobe similar to mine that she and I and the other woman also wearing one get together in the middle of the crowd so everyone would notice that and get a big kick out of it.
-
I daresay the Appalachian Carols will be a wonderful antidote to that dream!
-
Seems like a nice Sunday. I need to do some work outside which would be much more pleasant if it were just a tad warmer.

Sunday morning greetings! My 3 housemates have gone to church, but I elected to stay home for some solitude.
-
I daresay the Appalachian Carols will be a wonderful antidote to that dream!
And to all the Black Friday, Cyber Monday, buy, buy, buy hype that's flooding my email and our newspaper lately.
It's lovely, DR Elmore - thank you for sharing.

Maybe you should have just opened a new account and transferred most of the money first. I am surprised the money has to be held. This is a joint account, right?

I'm up, I'm up - obviously something in the sauce on the steak was a little too rich, so my tummy didn't feel so hot - no big problems, but just woke up a few times, then fell back asleep. I didn't actually fall asleep until three - I think I got eight hours, maybe seven.
-
Chas, yes, it was the pepper steak - that's their specialty.

Lovely music files DR ELMORE....perfect for this Sunday after Thanksgiving and heading onto Christmas.

DR CHAS SMITH:
The Dream-O-Matic 6000 was most entertained by your vision. It indicates that you appreciate DR ELMORE and the doors he opens for you to the inside workings of musical theatre. You are also very sure of your own talents - others may know different things, but you know just as much as anyone else. You sometimes you feel you are being held back and do not like to be identified as just one of the crowd.

I'm up and have had breakfast. My sister and niece are taking a walk around the neighborhood. I'm ketchuping here on HHW.

My cousin's wife is taking a shower and I don't know what my cousin is doing. I also don't know if there are any plans for today.
-
I'm sure that we'll play cards or Monopoly again, but we're not going to do that all day.

Good afternoon. A busy day at church. It was Painfully Bad Music Day, plus folks brought their Thanksgiving leftovers and we ate that and then decorated the sanctuary for Advent. I washed the dishes after the meal.
-
Had the work session - easy/breezy since much of the material is from last year's holiday show and it's the same pianist.

I'd like one of those days. Maybe at Christmas.

Looking forward to listening to Elmore's pieces after the movie.
-
ChasSmith, that dream is wack.
-
DR TCB two days in a row we have been told to go to the glass museum. Yesterday we were also told to go to the bridge of glass. Would we want to do that in January?
-
Done. Thanks DR VIXMOM. Christmas comes early!
-
Currently the warmest room in our home is our closet. I want to stay in there as I'm still chilled from my walk. I should have dressed warmer but I didn't realize how hold it had gotten. I did not walk as long as I had planned too, partially due to a phone call as I was about to leave.

Oh dear John G has been corrupted by watching teen movies

Perhaps you can put a cot in there for poor TCB. It's a step up from Elmore's fire escape
-
Vixmom, you asked last night what my Sunday school class top was: It's called Hark the Glad Sound and it's based on four songs, the first of which was Zechariah's song after the birth of the John the Baptist.

That sounds very interesting! We do not have an adult Sunday School and the kids lessons are always based on wither the old testament lesson or the Gospel of the day

We have about a half dozen adult classes plus the various kids classes. I have enjoyed teaching off and on over the last 15 years. But I think I'm going to take a break again after the new year.

Right now I think he would find the rest of my home comfortable compared to his temps.

Me and Earl is surprisingly touching. I think it's a little too "in" because of all the references to classic films, but it works. Except for the ending.
-
DR VIXMOM I would like 1776 and the Neil Simon volumes.
DR JRand65, 1776 is in a great anthology of musicals!
-
I'm almost finished with Season 12 of MIDSOMER MURDERS, but i am off to bed. I have to be out of bed around 6:30 tomorrow.

Beautiful songs, Elmore, and lovely arrangements.
I'm not overly familiar with the Cherry Tree Carol, but I did hear another version today on the Christmas album that my old Kentucky high school classmate Joan Osborne released.
-
DR elmore3003 - check out the latest issue of Fanfare. Your Roberta made at least one of the critic's 2015 Want Lists, and there is a detailed, multi-page review of The Golden Apple.
-
Good night, all. Have to get up way too early to be at a doctor's appointment.
-
It is sad how stupid this Castle season is. The ratings have dropped and I will not be surprised if the show is canceled.

DR Elmore, thank you so much for sharing this. My very favorite Christmas CD is either called Appalachian or Mountain Christmas. Can't remember which. It's just simple instrumentation and no vocal, but it makes me smile every time I hear it
-
Waiting for the football game to end so I can see another weather report. So of course it's in overtime
-
Oh look! Page 6
-
I had a busy day. Last night I was thinking of everything I had to do today, and made a list. Something I don't normally do for around the house stuff
-
Gas for the snowblower - check
-
pick up a couple more files I may want to work on if snowed in Check
-
Cat food and treats for cats check
-
go to flute choir practice check
-
Do the laundry check
-
pay the bills sort of check, paid the ones that needed to be paid right now. Will deal with the others tomorrow
-
That was the majority of the list. I did have go to the grocery store on the list because that's what we do whenever there is a winter storm warning. We all go buy bread and milk even if we have bread and milk because....well that's what you do. But, I took one look at the parking lot of the grocery store and decided that I have enough bread and milk to get through to Wednesday
-
Vixmom, if it's available, I'd love "Amadeus" by Peter Shaffer. :)
-
We're only expecting 6-9 inches of snow over 24-36 hours, but we're close to the 10-12 inch area and Tuesday the winds will pick up. On top of that I live on a low priority street for snow removal, so...I'm thinking I'll be working at home. I do have a phone hearing Tuesday morning, so unless that's cancelled, I will be trekking in to the office by then
-
I am sort of looking forward to it because I love snow storms, but I'm not looking forward to it because I'm ready to go back to work. I've been to the office a couple times over the past few days, but I've been home most of the time for the past 5 days and am ready to get back out in civilization for awhile.
-
DR VIXMOM I would like 1776 and the Neil Simon volumes.
DR JRand65, 1776 is in a great anthology of musicals!
I have that anthology of musicals, also. The best part is, if I remember correctly, they're all the original scripts...no revised versions.
-
Flute Choir rehearsal was nice. We're playing more difficult music this year - one is a Nutcracker thing - anyway, we've been working a lot more than usual and we're sounding the best we have in a long time. We play next Sunday for a local Lutheran Church's Bethlehem revisited. We play 20 minutes, then the angels talk and then we play 20 more minutes. I'm very glad I went back to flute choir. I play alto flute on everything but the Nutcracker (I play C flute on that) and I love it. There aren't very many places to play an alto, I feel very lucky to have a flute choir to play in
-
I do not miss concert band. The flute choir members are great. We enjoy each other and laugh a lot. People were snarky in concert band. I don't need that
-
It is sad how stupid this Castle season is. The ratings have drpped and I will not be surprised if the show is canceled.
I can't remember if I've seen the latest episode. I haven't specifically enjoyed the fact that Castle and Beckett are separated. Hopefully, they'll at least get back together sooner rather than later.
-
Why do I have to listen to post game on tv before I get my local news? Seriously, if you watched the game, you know what happened in the game, if you didn't watch the game, you probably don't care what happened in the game.
-

I used to watch it all the time and just lost interest. I don't think I've watched since shortly after they got married

I can't remember if I've seen the latest episode. I haven't specifically enjoyed the fact that Castle and Beckett are separated. Hopefully, they'll at least get back together sooner rather than later.
I used to watch it all the time and just lost interest. I don't think I've watched since shortly after they got married
I liked that they got married, but this season has them separated already and working on totally different things, and that's not too interesting.

I do not miss concert band. The flute choir members are great. We enjoy each other and laugh a lot. People were snarky in concert band. I don't need that
That's an important aspect of any socializing. Who wants to deal with that kind of stuff. :P
During the last concert I was in, someone made a comment, what it was I don't remember, but I suddenly thought "I don't have to be here" and decided in that moment to leave at least until January. Now I'm thinking that I won't be there in January either.
-
The fun thing with flute choir is that one of our members married the principal oboe of our symphony and now he plays with us and sometimes directs and we really sound a lot better with his advice. He has a conflict so he won't be playing with us until January. I'm looking forward to that
-
It's only just after 9:00 pm and everyone has gone to their respective bedrooms. It's weird. It'only 9:00 and both today and yesterday at this time, I am (and was) very tired. I don't know if it's that I'm doing too much that's different than what I normally do, or that I haven't had ANY carbonated beverage since Friday morning.
It is a puzzlement. ;)
-
DR TCB two days in a row we have been told to go to the glass museum. Yesterday we were also told to go to the bridge of glass. Would we want to do that in January?
Jane, the bridge of glass connects downtown Tacoma with the Glass Museum. They are kind of a package deal.

Being with family at holidays always wears me out. Whether we are busy or not, I'm always tired at the end of the day

There is that, too.

I think that's especially true when you're used to living alone....or just with cats
-
It ould also be that the matress that I'm sleeping on is not very comfortable...even though it's directly on the ground and much better than being on the hide-a-bed frame. ::)
;D
-

That makes a lot of sense.
-
There is that too
-
Sleeping on a strange bed that is..
-
I never get any sleep on the hide-a-bed at my parents' house at the lake.
-
Wow, there are 43 closings for tomorrow already and nothing has happened with the weather yet
-
I'm wondering if the electrician will show up tomorrow
-

We had our first read-thru, as well as a potluck for SECOND SAMUEL. I think it will be a sweet play. The cast members seem nice.

Sounds like you had a good evening, TCB, glad to hear that
-
Had a nice dinner at The Smoke House - was a very good boy.
-
Then I finished my viewing and here I sit like so much fish, trying to not get sick - yes, sick people have been hovering around, including the musical director today, so I'm ODing on Sambucol, Airborne and Coldeez. Send vibes and xylophones for no sickee.
-
I may NqQuil before bed, just to be safe. And I may try and get to bed right at midnight after I post the notes.

I had never heard of Sambucol.

Why don't you write the notes now, set them for midnight and go to bed now?
-
Why can't I get in to send a PM?
-
Time for me to get some sleep. Night all
-
Why can't I get in to send a PM?
What happened? Tom, are you not able to send a PM?
-
Good night, Cilla.

Well, I'm struggling to keep my eyes open. My sister, niece and I are leaving in the morning to go back home to Washington, so I think I need to get as much sleep as I can, especially when this matress is not very comfortable.
-
Have a good day tomorrow, everyone! I don't expect to check back in until I'm home.
Bye!

The first really stupid episode, in my opinion and many fans, was the wedding episode.

DR George when you cross the I-5 bridge from Portland into Washington and pass the first exit wave as that is my exit.

Well yes, I wouldn't spend much time out there, but you can see it, at least.

DR George when are you heading home?
They are heading home in the morning.

I was missing a page when I asked the question. You quoted me too quickly as I changed my post ;D

We usually take the I-5 because it is close to us.

We usually take the I-5 because it is close to us.
Last month, when I went to Salem, was the first time I had ever taken I-705.
-
I guess I should rehearse before I go to sleep.
-
G'night!
-
Notes are written and will be posted right on time and then it's to bed for me.

We will take the I-5 to you and when former DR MBarnum came here he also took it.
