And ~ ~ ~ DON'T GET SICK VIBES ~ ~ ~ for all!!!
A man was excited to finally get to see HAMILTON on Broadway. He had waited many months for his ticket. He was there on a Wednesday matinee.
He took his seat next to a lovely woman. As he looked around, he noticed that the seat on the other side of the woman was empty. He kept waiting for someone to come in to take it. The show started, and he was irritated that someone would come in during the first act. No one did.
During the intermission, he asked the woman if she knew who the seat belonged to. "Yes," she replied. "I bought the tickets many weeks ago, it belongs to my husband, but he passed away."
The man said: "Oh, I'm sorry. But didn't he have a friend or relative that could have used the ticket?"
The woman answered: "No....no....they're all at his funeral."
Updating old jokes, Jack? :)
I saw Hamilton - brilliant story telling - but I didn't care about anyone.
As I mentioned yesterday, I am moving again. (I did move in April of this year) - but basically, the last 7 months or so have been difficult. My current apartment is about 20 miles away from work, family and basically everything I need/want on a daily basis - and the traffic at rush hour is not in my favor - EVER. The time in the car, while still trying to not think it was a big deal, is/was in fact a BIG deal. So much as my blood pressure went up and my patience with people has gotten shorter and shorter. Drivers are just idiots in traffic - I do believe that it's in their muscle memory to drive slower during a commute time even though there are no other cars on the road.
So, I made a decision to move back to where I moved away from in April Yes, rent is more $$ and the apartment is smaller, but I'm saving on tolls, gas and most of all.... it'll be better for my metal and physical well being. So, it's my choice to move this time. Thank goodness for the new job this year at school, that's all I have to say about that.
Tomorrow is the day.... and I can't wait to be back over on the Peninsula. The sad part is that I really LOVE the area I'm moving from - I just wish I could live/work in the area, but that won't happen any time soon. I'm hoping to be back to my beloved East Bay at some point in my life - it is a calm place to be - just in the wrong place at the moment.
This may be old news, but just in case - here's Joel Grey's tongue-in-cheek response to the funny Leslie Odom jr. story about Mr. Grey at HAMILTON:

So, no word from Harbinger Records or the Musical Theater Project.
Yesterday, Amazon shipped the new Harbinger recording JOHN KANDER: HIDDEN TREASURES, 1950-2015.
Track 20 of CD 2 is my orchestration for "The Skin of Our Teeth" from Brent Barrett's Kander & Ebb album, arranged by Christopher Denny and produced by Bruce Kimmel. I've been looking through the recording booklet several times now, and I see no acknowledgement for Chris, Bruce, or myself.
Bruce and I have both left messages on the Harbinger and Musical Theater Project Facebook pages.
I don't know if I should be flattered or pissed!

Is it the actual track from the album or just the orchestration? Did any other arrangers/orchestrators, etc receive credit?
Oh, yeah, part three of the miracle.

Ditto!
Miracles vibes for BK.

It's time to update parody lyrics for HAMILTON also, then, isn't it?
Tune of “Star” (2015-16 Broadway HAMILTON version)
If the fellow’s cheered as the reason
That the tuner’s changing for good
If he wrote the smash of the season
And he’s crowned the god of the ‘hood
If the rhyming is rather close but no cigar
The chances are: The fellow’s a star
If the scalpers find themselves falling
For the daring work in his play
If the President comes a-calling
For some seats in center row K
If the seats that we can afford are rather far
The chances are: The fellow’s a star
If the sense of drama in his using hip-hop
Is utterly tip-top, per John Lahr
If his sound is something all the press is chasing
Something boomers are embracing
Something we can groove to in our car
He’s a genuine, wonderful, lyrical, magical
Perfectly bankable star!

Amazon has been so screwy lately. A package that was supposed to arrive yesterday, according to their tracking, hadn't - in fact, no shipper service was noted. I called them and they credited me the purchase and said another one would be sent. So, today what do I find? It HAD arrived yesterday. Today there's another package supposedly going to be delivered via UPS - UPS had already made its delivery and they hadn't sorted through, but according to Amazon it hasn't arrived yet and according to UPS it hasn't arrived yet, but there's no action on the task bar since it was actually sent.

I will have to watch this later.
bk didn't sing Penny by Penny nor did Guy Haines - that gorgeous vocal belongs to Sal Viviano.
Donde esta la gente esta noche?
The library has done something strange. They have changed their rules. You used to be able to check out a DVD for a week. Now you can get it for three weeks.
We were assigned dishes by our last name. My initial landed in starches. I don't eat or cook starches, so this will be fun to see how it turns out.
The director thought it was very good.
Jane, I could have meant I-205. I meant the one that takes you out by the airport.
And I fall over at about ten o'clock.
The director thought it was very good.
If I recall correctly this is not the first time you and your director have had a difference of opinion. In the end the director is proven correct ;)
And Jane may be reading or, perhaps, watching a movie!
Perhaps I could make it a potluck.
Hi Jane!

Well, I am hoping that Thursday's performance will be an improvement over both of our opinions.

Well, I must be going. Tonight, Theater Artists Olympia is having a movie night! I don't know specifically what's playing, but it'll be a horror movie!
Be back later.
I hope it was closer to the director's view.
