Well, you've read the notes, the notes were okay, and now it is time for you to post until the okay cows come home - they're currently having a gunfight at the OK Cowral.
-
And the word of the day is: VELLEITY!
-
Topic of the Day:
In my Blu-ray player right now is "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" I had a vague memory that it was based on a book, and I was right. The title of the book is "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?" The movie is different than the book, which is set in the present of when it was written (early 1980s) and uses comic strip characters instead of cartoon characters. The other obvious change is that in the book, Roger Rabbit actually gets killed, and he doesn't in the movie, hence the needed title change.
-
Spoo! Spoilers!!
;)
-
I checked my library's on-line catalog and they have the movie but none of the books. There were at least two other Roger Rabbit books. Two of the three are available from OverDrive, but my library didn't even have those, so I recommended them for purchase. We'll see if they buy them.

A very Happy Birthday
to DR Ginny!!
-
Happy Birthday to Ginny!! :D
-
Happy Birthday Ginny :)
-
good morning to all
-
a most happy birthday to Ginny
-
Happy Birthday to DR Ginny!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Too warm, far too warm in Manhattan for me to be happy.
-
Happy happy birthday to dear DR Ginny!!!
-
Good morning, all.
Slept okay. And an okay sleep is okay. Or so I've heard.
Coffee!
-
Stayed up too late reading the new "tome" by Ethan Mordden. I think it's his first book I have remotely enjoyed since around 1990. Still, with all his attempts to show off his intellectual brilliance, he sure misses salient points and cannot resist throwing out attempts at humor beginning with "To Broadway wags at the time . . ."
-
This morning, I need to run to Staples and photocopy some blank sheets of music paper, I think I will actually put some of the Dreidle Song on paper.
-
At 11:00 I may have an orchestration conversation with a composer.
-
HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY WISHES TO DR GINNY!!!!!

Wishing a most wonderful celebration to our very own dear DR Ginny!!!!!

Happiest of Birthdays to DR GINNY!!!
-
Most irritating MR BK news......what can you do.....people are like that all over.
-
I was very disappointed in the Dolly Parton movie last night - Coat of Many Colors.
The description: "The life and career of country music superstar Dolly Parton is chronicled."
Instead it was two hours of Dolly as a little girl. The story didn't even match the story of the song OR the description of events in her autobiography.....it was not a BAD movie, but it was NOT as it was described to be sure.....major MISS.
-
What an amazing coincidence, DR singdaw. I have that very piece of music on my stand right now.
-
I know some people like snow in December. But not me. I am so happy. Today it is going to be 54F!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Happy Birthday DR Ginny. Hope you have a great day!
-
Good morning, all.
It's foggy and drizzly here, meaning traffic is at a standstill. Hope it's clearer in everyone else's world.
-
Elmore, I have that book on my amazon list. But I dreaded to go for it for the same reason you mentioned about his more recent volumes.
-
Two!
-
TOD:
CD: Various volumes of Carols for a Cure
DVD: The Bishop's Wife, Burlesque
Car CD: Career of Evil (the latest from Robert Galbraith, aka J.K. Rowling)
-
I've been to Staples; it's 53 degrees F outside. WTF?
-
Happy birthday, Ginny!

All your favorite Christmas songs -- sung by goats.
Yes, TCB, if this doesn't scare you into the Christmas spirit, nothing will.
The second video is especially disturbing.

TOD from yesterday:
I feel like this question should have been easy, but I couldn't really come up with anything except "Ladies Who Lunch".
I suppose "I'm just a Girl Who Can't Say No" would be wildly inappropriate, as well as Bruce's "Who Do I Have to Blank to Get Out of This Show".
What about "I Enjoy Being a Girl"?
-
Goats singing Christmas carols. What is this - Greenwich Village?
-
Afternoon, all!
Happiest of birthdays to Ginny!
The word of the day actually features strongly in the opening story of Mike Carey's "Lucifer" graphic novel series, highly recommended by the likes of me. Please do not even THINK of associating it with the upcoming Fox TV "adaptation."
TOD:
Ye olde iPod needs charging, but there's about 10 hours' worth of lectures on Jewish legal philosophy that I'm looking forward to (no, really!) when I get around to it
Pandora: my "kitchen sink" station, which just played Dar Williams, Allan Sherman, Darby O'Gill, Bruce Springsteen, and the Doors in the last hour.
Reading: "War and Peace"
-
From George:
Welcome to Washington!
Oh no, what have I gotten myself into!!!
-
Wait, it is ok. We are going to a warmer climate for Christmas. I hope it doesn't rain there.
-
Most irritating MR BK news.
I feel annoyed for you.

I know some people like snow in December. But not me. I am so happy. Today it is going to be 54F!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been super mild so far this winter. I am wearing shoes, which I would normally never do at this time of the year. It has only snowed once. And only like 1cm so it was gone the next day. I am super happy about this.

And here it is, DR Elmore. Your assignment...

Actually, and unfortunately, the phone conversation was a bit of a dud.
-
Hello! We've been getting rain off and on in the bay area. The big storm that was suppose to come has either came in the middle of the night, or is slowly moving north and we are not getting any of it. I'd be happy for a big snow pack in the mountains, though. That will definitely help the drought

Actually, and unfortunately, the phone conversation was a bit of a dud.
Oy. Sorry to hear it.

I'm really enjoying it. It's very dark, but her plotting is tighter and I've grown to care for the main characters.

Oy. Sorry to hear it.
Very sorry, Elmore.
-
Speaking of unfortunate, Josh Groban just tortured to death "Over the Rainbow" on THE TALK.
-
I really DISLIKE Groban's "Broadway" CD....when did he turn into Mandy Patinkin?
-
Sorry about the phone call dud DR ELMORE.
Breaking legs vibes for DR GEORGE......is this the show that DR JANE is seeing?
-
Happy Birthday, Ginny!
-
Sami did I Enjoy Being a Girl in the October show.
-
Had a rough night - didn't fall asleep until two due to a slightly upset tummy, woke up at four with the same slight upset tummy (methinks some butter I put on a matzoh last night was the culprit - perhaps just a teeny bit too old - who knows), slept fitfully till eight, then finally fell back asleep and was out till noon. I feel a bit better now and may just have some white rice for the time being. Thankfully I bought some at Gelson's yesterday.
-
Oh, and I'm up.
-
Forgot to mention the huge rainstorm from yesterday - lasted ninety seconds. We're having another now - it was coming down pretty good for about six minutes and seems to have abated already, but I'm hoping it keeps up for the entire weekend.
-
Actually, and unfortunately, the phone conversation was a bit of a dud.
Darn.

Unfortunately no. We are going to see DR TCB in Second Samuel.

Ha! I'd rather listen to the goats.
-
Breaking legs vibes for DR GEORGE......is this the show that DR JANE is seeing?
Thanks, Jrand! And no, the show that Jane will be seeing is a show that TCB is in and will be in January. I'm also going to see that. :)

It is pouring out, not the best day to get a haircut & have my hair styled. It won't look good for long. I think I might skip my evening walk.
-
As I headed out last night I realized my warmest gloves were not in my coat jacket where I keep them. I looked for them in the dark on a section of the path I figured I had lost them earlier. I don't go into the park at night. This morning I headed there first. Since I have two spare left gloves I mostly wanted to find the right glove.
-
Someone found one of my gloves and stuck it on top of a branch so that it was standing straight up.
YES, it was the right glove. :)

Back from a Chinese chicken salad and a bagel.

I am a very proud poppa. Joshie's on the right, Jeremy's down front. I love Suzy, a funny lady and excellent violinist.

Very, very nice DR elmore!
-
Happy, happy birthday to DR Ginny!
-
Thank you, DR KevinH!

Fun video, DR Elmore!
-
Two for two in my restaurant birthday celebrations last night and today.
Richard took me, Rob, and Mary Linda to the newly-opened nearby Cheesecake Factory for dinner last night. The kids' food arrived and, per our custom, we encouraged them to begin eating while it was hot. We thought our plates would be right along, but after quite a while the manager visited our table. He said Richards pork chop was not sufficiently cooked and they'd dropped my chicken enchiladas. They were starting over on both meals and we would not be charged for them.
Then at lunch at Panera with Becky today, I discovered that they'd left the parchment separator on the cheese in my sandwich. They replaced it, of course, and gave me a $10 gift card.
Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket...
-
Funny Ginny :)
-
Meals are usually timed to arrive together. Do you need to encourage others to go ahead and eat on a regular basis? I know it does happen, but not regularly.
-
That DR Ginny knows how to have a birthday! :)
-

It happens more often than I think it should.
-
That DR Ginny knows how to have a birthday! :)
All in all, DR ChasSmith, I'd rather not have had reason to receive either perk. Big it does make a good story...
-
Happy Birthday, Ginny!
-
HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO DR GINNY!!!!!!
-
Thank you, DRs Laura and Cillaliz!
-
As long as dinner and lunch tasted good in the end, you got a fun perk
-
Had one of the busiest weeks I've had in ages and ages. I got tons done and it feels great
-
Well, it's time for me to go. I need to get a couple of items for concessions before I head to the theater.
Be back later!
-
Great birthday story DR GINNY....yes buy a lottery ticket!
I loved the video at the link DR ELMORE.
Congrats to MR BK & Co on the review!
DR GEORGE - Josh Groban just sounds too precious by half on his Broadway CD....almost like a parody of himself and Mandy.....if that is possible....
-
Another review is right here at haineshisway.com from Rob Stevens - just go to the notes and click on "Now Playing" over on the left.
-
The finale of The Amazing Race was most satisfying and enjoyable.....although the upcoming February edition featuring teams of INTERNET SENSATIONS looks pretty insufferable......maybe there will be someone worth cheering on....or at least watching.
-
Had one of the busiest weeks I've had in ages and ages. I got tons done and it feels great
Nice. I have to get off the computer and back to work. I am working on the computer more than playing ;)
-
I have been on facebook with DR Dakota. She said she has tried but been unable to log in here. Bruce, or anyone who is on FB with her, who remembers how she can get in please message her.
-
I hate when food does not come at the same time at a restaurant.

I should have gone back and changed it-lol Of course I meant we unfortunately were not seeing George as well as you.:)
-
Jane, where are you going for Christmas?
You are the only one who asked ;)
I will let everyone see the photos to find out where we are. I do need someone to please transfer them from facebook to here.
-
A quiet evening on HHW.
-
On the college football game I am watching, the last play was completed by a sixth year senior! I never knew they could have six years of eligibility!!
-
Tomorrow afternoon I am going to the Seattle Symphony Christmas Pops Concert.
-
I won't know until tomorrow if my friend will be joining me. He is about to become a grandfather at any moment.
-
One post more.
-
Five!
-
Hi, DR TCB!
-
What a day, what a day.
-
The madness ends, momentarily, at midnight on Tue (Dec 15).
-
Except that they always extend the deadline, so the madness just starts all over again.
-
How to talk Minnesotan:

I hope tomorrow's rainstorm is not as bad as predicted.
-
I hate the drive to Seattle, especially in the rain.
-
Hi, SnappyTom!
-
How fast can you type?
-
The madness ends, momentarily, at midnight on Tue (Dec 15).
Do you have to work until midnight on the 15th?
-
No; only until about 10:30pm.
-
I thought about you, DR TCB, when I heard about the highway covered by the mudslide from all the rain in your region.
-
How fast can you type?
Not fast enough! :)
-
No; only until about 10:30pm.
Oh, that is much nicer.
-
I thought about you, DR TCB, when I heard about the highway covered by the mudslide from all the rain in your region.
And there is no truth to the rumor that George and I staged the landslide to keep Jane from heading north.
-
I should hope not!
-
I cannot stop yawning!
-
No offense meant to you, DR TCB.
-
Did you just get off work?
-
No offense meant to you, DR TCB.
No offense taken.
-
I don't generally work as long a day as DR vixmom, but I have been averaging over 50 hours per week for the last month and a half.
-
I am not salaried, though, so I get paid for the hours that I actually work.
-
Not too many more.
-
P-U-S-H!!!!!
-
Apparently the Golden Globe nominations are out.
-
I haven't seen any movies.
-
What I know of movies, I know from reading bk.
-
An okay day is okay in OK!
-
Let us turn the page.
-
SIX!!!!!!
-
We should have the HHW Awards. We have as many members as the Hollywood Foreign Press.
-
In from a nice Vietnamese dinner that was more American than Vietnamese: Cajun fried rice. Oh well, I cleaned my plate.
-
We should have the HHW Awards. We have as many members as the Hollywood Foreign Press.
Actually, I think that is a good idea! We could have a special night with ham chunks and cheese slices, and we could all dance the Hora; and then give out the awards.
-
Cajun fried rice sounds a little spicy.
-
Hello, everyone.
I am too tired to do anything more than say...
-
I hate the drive to Seattle, especially in the rain.
Vibes the weather is good! If that is asking too much, vibes your drive is ok and the rain not too hard.
-
I thought about you, DR TCB, when I heard about the highway covered by the mudslide from all the rain in your region.
And there is no truth to the rumor that George and I staged the landslide to keep Jane from heading north.

Happy Birthday to DR Ginny!
I hope you had a wonderful day!
-
I shall have to ketsup latzzzzzzzzzzzz
-
No Vixmom tonight? I hope she isn't still at work.
-
I hate the drive to Seattle, especially in the rain.
Vibes the weather is good! If that is asking too much, vibes your drive is ok and the rain not too hard.
Thank you for the vibes. At least I don't have to drive it at night.
-
Cajun fried rice sounds a little spicy.
Sadly it wasn't. It came with a nice cup of broth flavored with five spice (cinnamon, clove, anise and the like). I had to add plenty of chile oil to spice it up.
-
Good night, SpongeBob!
-
Good night, John!
-
Page six? Really?
-
Well, someone had to say it.
-
Welcome, 1 Guest!
-
I keep meaning to ask:
Does anyone know what has happened to Ron?
-
Cajun fried rice sounds a little spicy.
My reaction.

It still might have been too spicy for me.

Maybe DR Ron has been busy getting ready for his annual trip home.
-
The boat parade went by again tonight. There was a paddlewheeler with the wheeler part lit up and rolling through the water.
-
Maybe DR Ron has been busy getting ready for his annual trip home.
I hope that is it.
-
DR GEORGE - Josh Groban just sounds too precious by half on his Broadway CD....almost like a parody of himself and Mandy.....if that is possible....
Ahh...thanks for the info.
-
Tonight's reading of Edgar Allan Poe went well. I got through my one piece (and the first of the evening) and had to sit there and try to keep my eyes open. ::)
-
Just sitting there with nothing to do, in front of everyone, is not the easiest thing to do.
-
But we only have one more performance tomorrow (my dad is coming to see it!), then it's over.
-
We only had about a dozen paying patrons. It may not seem like much (especially since it's only $10 a person) but it's certainly worth it for us to continue the event.
-
There is absolutely no cost...just the cost of electricity and price of printing posters. :)

-
I just got this new recording direct from Australia!
-
I'm listening to it and so far, I'm enjoying it.
-
The conceit of this production is like John Doyle's shows where, out of necessity, the actors play the instruments.
-
The sound quality is pretty good. It says that they recorded their "production on stage in the theatre, both with an audience and without, and the album here is a combination of those two sessions."
I like it.
-
Another review is right here at haineshisway.com from Rob Stevens - just go to the notes and click on "Now Playing" over on the left.

Or not.

I hate the drive to Seattle, especially in the rain.

I thought about you, DR TCB, when I heard about the highway covered by the mudslide from all the rain in your region.

Absolutely none!
-
Back from a dreadful show, that with intermission ran a lovely three hours.
-
Yikes! :o
-
And now, to bed.
Good night...whoever might be out there in the dark.
