Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in review and had style, and now it is time for you to post until the stylish cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MATUTINAL!
-
That's a very interesting and unique painting, BK.
-
First post after George after BK!
-
Well, I'm off to bed. I get to sleep in, so that'll be nice. This afternoon, I have to go to a union meeting. I hope it doesn't take too long...I have some more TV watching to do, including last week's Doctor Who season finale.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
I have to be up at five tomorrow morning, so I deliberately got up at six this morning in the hope of making that slightly easier.
-
Had a very rude awakening, though. Got my coffee, sat back in the recliner, opened the iPad, and... no internet.
So, back upstairs to the modem/router which was sitting there like a dead herring. I powered it off and back on, and fortunately, that's all it needed. The only thing I wish for -- and maybe I'll get this for Christmas -- is that, henceforth, whenever this happens, an executive at Comcast is stricken by something unspeakably horrible.
-
BK, I love that painting! And yes, the Daliesqueness of it. But your having found that issue is the icing on the cake. What a wonderful thing.
-
DR George I am glad you and your father had a good evening.
-
good morning to all
-
today is a work day
-
Have a good day michael.
-
Thanks for sharing your painting, bk.
-
'Tis the season. Today I have a service, a lunch, a concert, a dinner, and a concert.
-
I do not think that there will be a nap today.
-
And ain't that a shame?
-
Good morning, all.
Great painting, BK.
-
Yesterday was warm, mostly in the 70s. This morning is about 20 degrees colder. A storm blew through overnight. It's still wet and dark out there.
-
TCB, you mentioned seeing Capathia Jenkins. Have you heard her on "Great Joy: A Gospel Christmas"? Really fun album. They take the lyrics of a great many Christmas favorites and give new, gospel melodies to them.
-
Great notes! I enjoyed seeing the painting and the magazine!
Once again we will have temps in the 60's today, which is fine with me.
I have my last theatre board meeting of the year....and have my reports ready....so bring it on!
-
I had to buy a new printer.....I got one very similar to the one I had for ten years....a Canon PIXMA.
When I took it out of the box, I noticed it didn't have a cable to connect to my computer, so I thought maybe it was wireless.....but then the instructions said "USB cable not included"....but the old cable worked perfectly.....so now I am printing once again!
-
There is something going on in the world - two printers at our house are on the fritz!
-
And the gist of posts by DR John G. and DR Jrand65: Winter Was Warm.
-
Happy 90th, Dick!

Time to get ready to go sing for the people!
-
And the gist of posts by DR John G. and DR Jrand65: Winter Was Warm.
And of course, the parody:
Tune of “Stormy Weather”
Don’t know why
They’re all dissing on the sky
Warming weather,
Noxious waste and us live together
It warms me all the time
Such a scare
When they harp on their despair
Warming weather,
Seems like they all get together
Complaining all the time
They sing of troubled seas, and have no patience for me
They say “Don’t warm me please,” I say “please don’t bore me”
They would rather freeze, their tone says they’ll ignore me
Deplore it even more
I’ll go on
Talking heads speak mostly con -
Warming weather,
Can’t we all just feel warm together
Warm feelings all the time
Just wear linen and not leather,
Warm feelings all the time
-
Good morning, all! I decided at 8:00 to go back to bed and stayed there until 9:15 while I pondered the differences between wanting to die, wanting to be dead, and waiting to die, Then I got bored.
-
I have no solid plans today. At some point I need to call my friend Jeff Symanski and see how he is and I need to listen to that new Golden Apple recording with the full score to insure that it is now laid out properly.
-
I've been watching Season 3 of the BBC Father Brown Mysteries, which are a little too much gemütlich and cutesy-cozy for me. I didn't mind it so much in Seasons 1&2, but this current round is beginning to bug me. I don't know if I'll give a damn when Season 4 rolls around.
However, the last episode I watched last night really touched me. i'm still a bit surprised.
-
More coffee.
-
We are in season two of Father Brown.
-
Page 2 dance!
-
Love the painting, Bruce!
-
I put my name in to direct ON GOLDEN POND in July.....my life has changed since we put the show on the program.....it is more difficult to read the script right now. I think I will still put my name in....I think I can direct the play better now.
-
Damn. This has become a morning of dropping and spilling things. Maybe I should have stayed in bed?
-
Just wondering...
Why haven't we seen any critical reviews yet of either STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS or THE HATEFUL EIGHT?
Could it be that one or both might not be the "artistic" success the filmmakers had hoped to achieve, and they are delaying the review publication dates until the last possible moment?
Certainly both of these movies are "review proof," and both will break box-office records when they do open, though Tarantino's recent anti-police comments could hurt the returns for his film.
If history is any indication, then one can only wonder if these are "flawed" films that are being so over promoted in order to create a "want to see" factor, not that one was necessary in these two instances, that any negative reviews that came out on opening day would be ignored.
Indeed, if the filmmakers were convinced that they had artistic triumphs, wouldn't they have done what producers of movies like CAROL and SPOTLIGHT have done and let the positive reviews out early?
As I said, I'm just wondering...

Thanks DR JANE.
I think DR DRUXY is onto something.

Sunday afternoon greetings! I had every intention of going to Lima with Fr. Richard today, but woke up a little after 1am and heard the kitchen clock strike 2, 3, AND 4. There was no way I was going to get up at 5:30 to travel 100 miles each way to be charming.
-
to be charming.
Not sincere?
:)

Hugs, DR Jrand65.
-
About to be off to the next event today.
-
Loved your parody, DR FJL.
-
Page Two?

Really??

to be charming.
Not sincere?
:)
(a James Lapine reference)
Not always, I'm sorry to admit, DR Singdaw...
-
Thank you, singdaw!
-
Off to the board meeting.
Thanks, DR SINGDAW.....have a great busy day!
-
I've spent a couple of hours listening to THE GOLDEN APPLE and following the full score, which I've approved and is ready to go. That final duet, which Roger Stevens who produced the 1954 Broadway transfer, forced them to cut or he wouldn't move the production, is really glorious. I can see why Moross put it back into the show in the late 1970s.
I do wonder, though, why he didn't restore the complete original final scene as well.
-
DR George I am glad you and your father had a good evening.
Thanks, Jane!

Twenty minutes ago, just as soon as the Seahawks finished beating the Baltimore Ravens, the delivery man knocked on my door with a package for me from Vixmom. Thank you so very much!

I think I had read that Star Wars (at least) was not going have advance screenings for reviewers to lessen the chance for leaks.
-
Great lyrics, FJL!

On a Sunday?
-
I'm up, I'm up - man, I really must have needed to sleep - eleven hours of it and I only woke up once at nine-thirty and then fell back asleep instantly. Interesting dreams.
-
The morning is, of course, gone.
-
And I, of course, am groggy.

Page three? Really?

She must have connections!
-
We got post office package delivery today also, even though it's Sunday!
-
Thanks, TCB!
-
Nicky got tired of sleeping on my lap (my leg tends to twitch from time to time), so he curled up and slept under the Christmas tree.

We received one last Sunday.

No, I haven't but I may have to check it out. Her concert closing version of "O Holy Night" was truly incredible and earned a rare spontaneous standing ovation (but not from me).

Paypal dispute case closed - lucky him.

Very good news!

The theater in Vegas where the Republican debates will be held on Tuesday night seems to be the same theater where the Vegas "Phantom of the Opera" played.
-
Hmmm....
Then they should bring back the cast to serenade the candidates with either "Poor Fool, He Makes Me Laugh" or "The Point of No Return."
-
Well, I have to go now. I have a union meeting in an hour and I need to get ready for it. I'll be back afterward.
Have a good say, all!

Just home from a concert. Now off to dinner and a concert.
-
Just home from a brutal four-hour rehearsal.
Here's the problem: Too much talent graduated in the last couple of years, leaving a great void which has yet to be filled.
-
In other news, I'll be borrowing the full score to the Leroy Anderson after these concerts to make a piano reduction.
What I should do is use the project as a means of finally learning Finale...

How dare they let the talented students graduate!

Cooking up some chicken, mushrooms, onions in the wacky noodles sauce which will then go on some white rice.

Oh yes!~

It is pouring out.
-
I'm bored waiting for my nails and towels to dry, hopefully my nails will dry before the towels, and both before we have to leave.
-
Pouring? What's that?

Hello everyone. I am very E & T. I know I've been in a rut of worry. On top of that, I battled a flu even with the shot, and the computer woes, which happen every few days. Even though I try not to worry, I still do. This Wednesday I'm scheduled to have a check-up with my oncologist. I'll try to sleep Tuesday night, but my mind will keep going.

Thanks. I want to. I try to stay upbeat, but I always fear the worst. Like the Mel Brooks song from "The Twelve Chairs": Hope for the Best, Expect the Worst.
-
A week ago I posted an update on my GoFundMe page (www.gofundme.com/se6tv8gg) with a photo of me with one of the oncologists who really went beyond what was expected of him. He would visit me after his "day" was over to keep me company in my hospital room. He was also the only one who properly dosed and administered the medicine that had to be injected into my brain. I still can't believe what I've been through.
-
Pouring? What's that?
We would love to send you some of our rain.
-
DR Dan it is nice to see you. Good news Vibes on Wednesday.
-
We had some of Jane's rain. But the rain from Jane stays mainly in the plain - we had about three minutes.
-
LOL. I suppose it is better than nothing.
-
DR Dan it is nice to see you. Good news Vibes on Wednesday.
Thanks so much Jane. The volunteer who drives me is very nice and helps me go shopping. I don't like to bother him too much. He's nearly broken me of my tendency to apologize for being a bother, or for whatever I think I did or do to take up his time.
-
Just say thank you. It isn't your fault so you don't need to apologize :)

The theater in Vegas where the Republican debates will be held on Tuesday night seems to be the same theater where the Vegas "Phantom of the Opera" played.
Oh, I've been there. I saw Phantom there....can't remember what year, 2009 maybe?
-
Hi everyone. Been a busy weekend. Our flute choir (as a quintet this time) played Saturday and today I had a card making party. It's fun. Some artist friends have lots of art supplies out and everyone makes cards to send. It just occurred to me I could scan mine and print it....Hmmmm may have to do that.
-
DR DanM is back! Good to see him.
I just watched two more Father Brown episodes from Season 3; one really good and another a God-what-were-they-thinking? bit of paganism. Nice to see Flambeau back/
-
I also made some cookie cutter cookies and frosted them
-
And seemed to get a lot of sleep.
-
And I'm off to bed.
-
I didn't get my laundry done, or my house cleaned or.....
-
Oh I did put up my wreath. It was in the 50s here. Drizzle and rain yesterday and today. It's supposed to get back to normal temps here later this week
-
Sleep well DR Elmore
-
DanM, Glad you are back. Hope you'll continue to check in even when you don't feel up to snuff. We worry you know.
-
Enjoyed watching the special on the making of Sleeping Beauty.
-
Did anyone contact Dakota and suggest how she can get her password to work?
-
Good evening!
-
I know, I was just here a couple of hours ago.
-
But that was afternoon and this is evening.
-
Jane, I thought you were going somewhere this evening?
-
I guess she has now gone!
-
Thank you Larry and Cillaliz! For several weeks, the local PBS station was playing "Are You Being Served?" which I had never truly watched even though I've run across the program many times before. You know it's there but you pay no mind to it. Now that I did watch, I got hooked. It became one of my al-time favorites. And I am unanimous in that!
-
Good to see you, DanM. Many vibes.
-
Hi, John!
-
All quiet on the western front.
-
And the eastern front.
-
And the northern front.
-
Five
-
I guess you would be the southern front.
-
And I am the northwest front - and I am never quiet!!
-
Jane, I thought you were going somewhere this evening?
I am back.
-
For some reason my feet are really cold tonight.
-
We are in a hotel near the airport as we have an early flight tomorrow.
-
Welcome back, Jane!
-
We are in a hotel near the airportas we have an early flught tomorrow.
Where are you going?
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be a mostly dry day.
-
I almost said a dry day, but this is December in Tacoma; so that would be doubtful.
-
My back is better than it was last night, but I think I am one sneeze away from it going out again.
-
This apartment seems unusually small lately.
-
One walker, one wheelchair, and two power scooters does not leave a lot of room for Nicky and me.
-
Jane did you want to send me a PM?
-
Home from everything today, but exhausted and heading to bed.
-
Very, very, very good to see DR Dan M out and about. I can't even imagine what you've been through!
-
David's home from his very busy day.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Let me add to the chorus of glad to see DR Dan M here again.
You have a friend who was able to fix your computer? That's great!
-
David's home from his very busy day.
Yes, I'm so glad he moved to Minnesota where there's so much to do! Unlike the NY area, of course.
-
My back is better than it was last night, but I think I am one sneeze away from it going out again.
Tom, have you tried magnesium oil? I buy some from Amazon for about $7 that comes in a spray bottle. It's easy to spray on muscle spasms. I find it helps a bit.
-
DR FJL, I enjoyed your parody lyrics.
-
One walker, one wheelchair, and two power scooters does not leave a lot of room for Nicky and me.
You have quite a fleet of vehicles.
-
We had a bit of rain, but it seems to have ended. Every bit helps in our drought. It doesn't end the drought, but it does help to green things up.
-
Where'd Tom go?
-
Good night.
-

I could try it. The problem is with the stenosis in the lower lumbar section of my spine. They decided not to operate on it because half of the lumbar region has already been fused. I will try to order some magnesium from Amazon this week and see if it helps.
-
One walker, one wheelchair, and two power scooters does not leave a lot of room for Nicky and me.

I may have to register my apartment as a parking garage.

I'm still here (a Sondheim reference).
-
That was strange. I didn't leave.

-
I am sorry Jeanne left before I could answer her.
-
Thank you all for welcoming me back. My latest update is at www.gofundme.com/se6tv8gg I am grateful for help if anyone can.
-
Well I stopped in briefly but more breifly then expected as my iPad. Froze while after my post
-
Today a was given a $250 gift card from our Thrivent rep for use to buy toys for our Christmas party next week at the soup kitchen
-
The Vixter and I went to a store recommended by a fellow parishioner called 5 below
-
Everything there is $5 or less
-
Some as inexpensive as $1
-
Hi Vixmom! That store sounds interesting. Was it a chain?
-

I didn't realize you were doing a party for the soup kitchen. Can I help?
-
We filled two shopping carts with games, crayons, coloring books, play dough and when it all totaled up we had spent $233.....so I will pop up to the dollar store at some point to pick up candy canes for everybody... They have been selling boxes of 12 for $1. So $20 will buy me 240 candy canes
-

I don't know. I had never heard of it before but I am so glad she told me about it

Hello! The 6 performances of the Fiddler show are done - and it really was fun. It's a good show, although I haven't seen it because the orchestra is up in a loft over stage left of the stage. Two days off and then it's back for the final 6
-
Then we brought a load of books ,blankets and stuffed animals to the thrift shop

That's something else. I've gotten so used to the weather out here. It was around 55 or so on Saturday and I felt really cold. 55 back East would be a warm fall/winter day.

I remember when I was a kid and we'd all go to the live tree seller, trying to find the "perfect" tree. After we got it inside, every year we'd try different things to extend its freshness. One year it would be aspirin in the water, another year it was sugar. The first year I had my dog, she tried to drink the water, but I guess it didn't taste too good, so she never did that again. But she did like to sit under the Christmas tree and sleep.
