Well, you've read the notes, the notes me the Witch Doctor and The Purple People Eater, and now it is time for you to post until the purple cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BONHOMIE!
-
good early morning to all
-
hope everyone had a great day yesterday
-
Happy Boxing Day to them that have it
-
Michael, what are you doing up in the middle of the night?
-
Around six p.m. I was barely able to keep my eyes open, now I am wide awake.
-
Good morning, all.
First post since 4:12 AM on the right coast.
-
Happy Boxing Day! I'm only a few miles from where it's celebrated (Fort Erie, Ontario).
-
Good morning.
-
Saturday seems like Sunday today.
-
Yes, it does.
-
But today we get mail! On Thursday I received a card in the mail that enrolled me in a program that helps with medical insurance and prescriptions.
In another envelope, I got a letter that denied my application.
I guess I will have to travel over to the office and see what is going on.
-
Good morning, all! I slept late.
-
No plans at all today. I don't know if I will even get dressed. I may spend the whole day in my pajamas.
-
Last night i watched the first four episodes of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries Season 3, and I'll watch the last four today.
-
I've been up for about an hour with emails to my cousins and friends. Now, I'll make the bed and see what fresh hell turns up to aggravate me.
-
More coffee!
Happy Boxing Day!
-
We are land so I am able to stop in using Keith's phone.
-
We are on a tour of Fortaleza
-
In Brazil
-
I think it's time for a nap!
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. About six hours of sleep. Not enough.
-
Good morning. So glad I came home when I did. It snowed last night. Not a lot, but enough to make the roads slick.
-
Tomorrow I'm going to see The Big Short. Other than that I don't have any plans this weekend. How wonderful
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! We've had Christmas Morning II, this time with Rob and Mary Linda - ham & eggs breakfast followed by present opening, followed by Rob taking everyone's blood pressure with the nice stethoscope he received from his in-laws. Do we know how to party or what?
-
I've got some errands to do and should shovel the driveway. back later
-
Ginny everyday I appreciate my black and white purse and think of you. Today my purse matches my top.
-
Happy Boxing Day, all.
-
Yesterday brought a three-hour drive through dense fog to San Angelo. I got to listen to a chunk of Oscar Hijuelos' novel Twain and Stanley Enter Paradise. Highly recommended.
-
Ginny everyday I appreciate my black and white purse and think of you. Today my purse matches my top.
:D
-
I've been to Holy Trinity to pray for my friend, looked over my two versions of the Dreidel Song, which is now frozen. Tomorrow I'll take the scores to Staples and photocopy them. the photocopies will go to my publisher and the original, with sketches, to Miami University Library.
I'm going to watch the remainder of Miss Fisher before dinner around 6:00.
-
Off to Costco with Vixdad and Vixter so we can have our eye exams and buy new glasses
-
Pix and more when we get back
-
I'm up and got some sound sleep. :) I still need to get ready for ushering, but I have time.
-
My friend Margo is also ushering, so we'll probably go out to eat afterward.
-
I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a good day!
-
And I hope everyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas had a good day, too!
-
:D
-
And now, I must be off.
Until later!
-
TOD:
My Christmas was very nice. Mark got me a sparkly red blouse and some sparkly red 4" heel shoes which will look very nice on me at the next Kritzerland show.
-
Bruce, I didn't remember the story of your mom dragging you out of "Subterraneans," but obviously Mark did. I only remembered her dragging you out of a movie called "Making Love" which I thought was very amusing because the topic of the movie is right there in the title. Of course there were going to be people making love in the movie - it was called "Making Love"! What the HELL did she think it was going to be about?? One thing that struck me about your Kritzerland books is that you were constantly going off to see very grown-up movies. While I was a child seeing Disney movies with Kurt Russell, you were seeing "Ben Hur" and "Spartacus." You certainly did not lead a sheltered childhood where movies were concerned.

Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang!
No one writes better lyrics than Ross!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I just started laundry. It's a short walk to the laundry room, but baby, it's COLD outside!
I was bundled up, too.
-
Glad to hear DR Druxy's incident was a false alarm. Vibes for success with your neck.
-
Yesterday brought a three-hour drive through dense fog to San Angelo. I got to listen to a chunk of Oscar Hijuelos' novel Twain and Stanley Enter Paradise. Highly recommended.
A three-hour drive through dense fog sounds very stressful. You must have felt quite worn out.
-

The temp has gone down but it's still not too bad
-
Dr Kate and hubby, our brother and I are going to The Olive Garden n
-
Not "Making Love" - Let's Make Love - and she didn't drag me out because of THAT movie - it was the sneak preview that was with it - Come Dance With Me starring Brigitte Bardot. The drag out occurred when Miss Bardot's boyfriend undid the top of her nightie and put his hand on her boob.
-
Back from an omelet and a bagel, then picking up no packages.
-
Okay, it took me twenty-four hours, but I got to it:
Enjoyed the Carnegie Hall excerpt you posted yesterday, DR Elmore!
-
I look forward to hearing that Dreidel Song someday.
-
Good morning. Back from a breakfast party to celebrate the day after Christmas with some friends. This afternoon, I have a funeral service to attend for the mother-in-law of my uncle. Tonight, I'm seeing the National Tour of the Gentleman's show. Wait... that abbreviation doesn't work - so we'll call it the Love and Murder show.

This is the drawing on the cup
-
Still haven't cleared the driveway. Guess I should do that.
-
Or maybe not
-
My daughter gave me the book that musical is based on, Matthew.
-
Today I took Wae-Ling and a friend's daughter hiking. The two girls hadn't had a chance to get together for quite a while.
-
The temp has gone down but it's still not too bad
The temperature's dropping in Manhattan. I could tell earler when I was outside. It's 51 at the moment but it's going back up to 66 tomorrow.

Three!

In honor of the wise men's visit, I had camel for lunch in the form of a burger.
-
I've watched two episodes of Miss Fisher, and I think I'll watch the penultimate episode before dinner. Tonight, I'll watch the last and then see what Netflix has sent me.
-
Tasted like sweet beef.
-
In honor of the wise men's visit, I had camel for lunch in the form of a burger.
I think I'd pass on that. Where does one find camel meat for sale? I did try a slice of that marvelous cake you sent me. Even battered by USPS, it was still quite deelish!
-
Yesterday we watched a bizarre French film, 8 Women, a combo murder mystery and musical. Then a couple episodes of Blandings, which were riotously funny.
Tonight more Blandings and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
-

That was the whiskey nut cake. We had some with dessert yesterday. And yes, I found it good, too.
The camel was on the menu of a burger joint that also offers game burgers. Not all the meats are available at the same time, but they also serve kangaroo, beaver and gator meat at times.
-
Dozed off for about forty minutes. VERY windy here - very annoying.
-

Which production of the Shakespeare?

Oh my!
but for a moment there, i was experiencing the mental image of BK being dragged out of MAKING LOVE in the 1980's years after he had made FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL in the 1970's. :)
-
I've had a tasty dinner: broccoli, mashed potatoes, chicken stew, and cranberry sauce. U will clean up and watch the last Miss Fisher mystery. There seem to be no plans for a Season 4, which distresses me. Season 3 bergan its Australian TV run in January 2015, and there;s no sign of a broadcast next month.
-
I think MR BK should write a letter to Miss Bardot and relay the story to her for her reaction.
-
We have had much rain today and under a Flash Flood watch until Monday afternoon....so we may be swimming down the street.
-
I think a Kritzerland Show of novelty songs would be most entertaining....including of course those in the title of today's notes.
Those two songs delighted my brother and sisters and I during the summer of 1958....and we sang them over and over and ran to the radio when they were played.
Around the same time or perhaps slightly later we also enjoyed:
Tan Shoes & Pink Shoelaces
Norman
Splish Splash
Hey Bobba Needle
Running Bear
Lipstick on Your Collar
and this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-QQI6lb_Hg
-
My fave was Flip Top Box by Dicky Doo and the Don'ts - it was the flip side to their hit, Ne Ne Na Na Na Na Nu Nu.
-
The first novelty record I owned, I think, was this one. When my father's bars would get the latest 45s, I'd get all the cast-offs, including this. I played this for months. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNmmKxHrAYw
-
That's a pretty funny song....LOL....I remember that..... Don't know the Dicky songs
-
Hahaha....just listened to Flip Top Box on YouTube....pretty cool.
Ne Ne Na Na Na Na Nu Nu is has a great dance beat! :D
-
THE SOUND OF MUSIC - LIVE [sic] just started on NBC.
-
It's funny, even the commercial break announcers are saying "Live".
-
DR ELMORE maybe you should download Ghost Radar onto your phone....it's a free app that finds spirits in your house.
-
I thought it was pretty much DOA the first time around DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Not "Making Love" - Let's Make Love - and she didn't drag me out because of THAT movie - it was the sneak preview that was with it - Come Dance With Me starring Brigitte Bardot. The drag out occurred when Miss Bardot's boyfriend undid the top of her nightie and put his hand on her boob.
Well, that explains a LOT!

DR Jrand65 - I fear that, like General Franco, it's still dead.
-
Or perhaps it's just resting.
-

Awww 😍
-
I'd forgotten how incredibly amateurish Carrie Underwood's portrayal is
-
Well, enough. I was just flipping channels. Time to move on.
-
I don't eat garden burgers at home but was thrilled to have one for dinner tonight. They don't seem to know how to cook creative vegetarian dishes that have protein in them. We skipped the dining room ate ate at the poolside grill before it closed.

I love SPLISH, SPLASH. A real American classic, IMHO. And TAN SHOES AND PINK SHOELACES is in there, too.

Jane, which cruise line are you on?
-
DR Elmore's spirits don't seem to be the quiet type.
-
Maybe they want attention.
-
It doesn't really do anything.....just points them out and tells you what is strongest about them.....face, arms, etc.
-
Indeed DR CHAS SMITH
My favorite part was when the Admiral who has two or three lines at the party.....messed them up.....
-
In Brazil
Where the nuts come from.

Jane is on Crystal Cruise Lines' Symphony
-
I'd forgotten how incredibly amateurish Carrie Underwood's portrayal is
I only saw it the one time, but as I recall, you could tell she worked very hard and learned all her lines. She's not an actress. The problem was casting a "name" and not an actress.
-
Today was a relaxing day.
-
I took a nice lukewarm shower.
-
I think the idea that Quentin Tarantino's THE HATEFUL EIGHT is "the funniest movie of the year" is a rather depressing thought.
-
It is cold here tonight.
-
I think they said it was going to get down to 25 degrees.
-
This should be the only cold night this week. We have another storm system due in tomorrow.
-
The next dry day will probably be next year.
-
Which translates to next Friday.
-
This is a treat. NFL football on Saturday night.
-
And this after the University of Washington Huskies and the Washington State Cougars both won their bowl games today!
-
Tomorrow is Sunday?
(I originally wrote "Tomorrow is Sinday")
-
Yesterday was Christmas, so where is everyone tonight?
-
We know where Jane is tonight!
-
Again we have 7 Guests at the site, but not one of them is reading today's posts.
-
Perhaps there is a secret coded message buried in one of the previous day's notes
-
Maybe directions to buried treasure.
-
One post more.
-
Five
-
Been watching stuff but dozing a lot - longest was for almost an hour.
-
I think I will watch THE SOUND OF MUSIC - LIVE.

That is (from left to right) our senior Pastor, the Vixter, our associate Pastor serving communion to some parishioners. Yes, they are all wearing pajamas
-
Me, I've been indulging in a lazy all-afternoon-and-evening reading session on the Music Room couch. Just various and sundry things, catching up on this and that. Not even watching anything, except that few minutes of TV. Not even listening to anything. And it feels wonderful. I needed a day like this. Back to normal, more or less, tomorrow.
-
Nice pics, vixmom! Keep that photographic evidence coming!
-
Always enjoy photographic evidence of people's meals, too.
For example, I wouldn't have minded if BK had passed me that plate earlier today.
-
Vixdad gifted me with a ticket to see Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder
-
And he gifted me with a ticket to see Allegiance as well!
-
Just listening to music - pointless to try and watch anything else as I'll just doze off. I had about five ounces of spaghetti with the sauce left over from the partay and a little bit of kugel from last night's party.
-
I have a friend who lives a couple miles from where the tornado hit in Garland Texas tonight. I've been following that on his facebook page and on the weather channel.
-
I also made Scalloped potatoes and ham from scratch. The box mixes are too salty for me. Since I had the oven hot, I made some brownies
-
The brownies were from a box. Not that great, but I had them so I thought I'd make them
-
I've really enjoyed cooking and baking lately. I left the divinity and cookies and chocolate covered pretzels with my parents. I also bought them some peanut brittle and gave them some pecan clusters. They love sweets.
-
I'm watching Killing Lincoln
-
We are going to have a big snow storm on Monday and Tuesday. Well 6-10 inches. On top of the 2+ inches we got last night. It's also going to be below zero windchills. Winter is here :)
-
When they name a storm Goliath, of course it's going to be big. They should name the storms little names. Or names like Elmer. Nothing against the name, but it doesn't sound very dangerous
-
I stopped at the office today to check the mail and the document I've been waiting for was there. I may go to the office tomorrow and get that project ready to mail. Or I may not. It doesn't HAVE to be in before the end of the year.
-
I can't believe it's only Saturday.
-
Tomorrow I'm going to see The Big Short
-
I'm also going to do my shopping and get ready for the snow.
-
Lovely tree Vixmom
-
Fun service for Christmas morning, Vixmom
-
I have lots of things to do around the house. A snow storm will give me a reason do stay home and do some of the projects I've been meaning to do. Looking forward to it
-
It will also give me a reason not to go back to see mom and dad this week. I talked about going back to help with some things, but a snow storm will mean I won't. It's a good thing actually. I thought I was prepared for what I was going to find, but was still a bit shocked. I've talked to mom and dad a lot since I got home and they seem to be ok. I may have over reacted a bit
-
I may as well get us to the next page
-
Hmm, I had a milestone 80 posts ago and didn't even notice
-
Oh Well
-
It's page 6....I'm all alone here......
-
Wow, not even a guest here....
-
Guess I'll sign off
-
Yesterday we watched a bizarre French film, 8 Women, a combo murder mystery and musical. Then a couple episodes of Blandings, which were riotously funny.
Tonight more Blandings and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Which production of the Shakespeare?
It was to have been the Max Reinhardt version but we watched Stranger Than Fiction instead. Very good movie. I'd forgotten how much I'd enjoyed it.
-
Congratulations on your milestone, Cillaliz. J
-
A year ago today, I met Ginny and Richard for some barbecue in Middletown, Ohio.
-
That's all the news from me.
-
Good evening (again)!
-
Hello to one and all!
-
I don't know who I think I am talking to, since I am the only person here.
-
Maybe, if I wait, someone will join me.
-
John g I gave my Pastor your book Christmas morning. He loves barbecue (he usually makes a barbecued brisket fir the annual council dinner at his house)and since he and his wife gave dear friends in Texas they travel there often.
He loved the book and laughed out loud at the inscription. Thank you!!
-
I don't know who I think I am talking to, since I am the only person here.
Oh no you're not! (A spamalot reference)
-
Hello, 2 Guests.
-
Vixmom!
-
Happy Boxing Day to you and the rest of the Vixettes.
-
The Vixter went out for dinner with friends, Vixdad and I had a meal of left overs...left over glazed carrots , leftover peas with pear onions, leftover mushroom in sherry sauce, leftover new potatoes, leftover prime rib....and as a treat we opened a bottle of merlot
-
Happy Boxing Day to you and the rest of the Vixettes.
And to you!
-
Happy Boxing Day to you and the rest of the Vixettes.
I didn't know what you call a group of vices.
-
For breakfast we had poached eggs, homemade hashbrowns, broiled tomatoes, sausages, fried yam, toast and tea
-
We skipped lunch

Fried yam?
-
The three of us had our eye exams today. My astigmatism has gotten worse. I was dismayed Shen I couldn't read any of the letters on the top line with either eye even while weRing my glasses, although I could read it with bit he's opened
-
Vixdad and the Vixter had mini scull differences but we treated ourselves to new specs just the same. Costco is so reasonable that the prive fir three exams and three sets of specs was less than I paid for just me the last time I went to LensCrafters

Which is why that was the last time

No sign of them yet, I have very poor eyesight... I was wearing bifocals in 5th grade
-
I'm sorry.
-
Well since I am not much of a drinker and since I had two glasses of merlot. I. Must get me to sleep
-
Oh and it's 1:33 am and I have to be at church 7 1/2 hours. From now
-
Good night. Sleep well.

Has anyone else been seeing these deal dash .com commercials.... There's a lady ( with a really annoying voice) wh says she had won 104 auctions in her first 4 months on the site....and below her picture it says 232 auction s. Won.... Does she sleep? Is she independently wealthy? What is she doing with all that stuff?

My sil came in Christmas Eve kissed and hugged everyone and then proceeded to cough up a lung and say she has been unable to shake her bronchial infection for the past month

-
Vibes and prayers for Elmore's friend....
-
Ok if I go to sleep right now I can get 5 hours in before the alarm goes off....
-
Goodnight Tommy
-
I wasn't going to eat much today, and yet I have not stopped eating. I guess tomorrow I won't eat much. My plan is to make half an order of Wacky Noodles, so that will be right around 1000 calories and that will do me just fine for tomorrow.
-
Good night, Vixmom.
-
My favorite present this year was a coffee cup. On it, was a hand drawn snowman by my 8 year old grand nephew Gabe and the words "I love you Priscilla from Gabriel 2015" Nothing can beat that
Very nice, Cillaliz!
-
I'nm home fom ushering. After the ushering, I met up with a friend and his girlfriend, and we went out and had a bite to eat and some sparkling conversation.
-
After that, I drove them home and we played Phase 10 (I lost...yet again) and six rounds of Dominoes. I'm now at my home, ready to ketchup on all the posts.
-
Congratulations to Cilla n her new milestone.
-
EIGHT!!
-
It must be something I eight.

How was ushering, George?

In honor of the wise men's visit, I had camel for lunch in the form of a burger.
I think I'd pass on that. Where does one find camel meat for sale? I did try a slice of that marvelous cake you sent me. Even battered by USPS, it was still quite deelish!
John, I received a package from you, also! Thank you so much! I'm going to eat the edible item tomorrow. The one I got does look good, and not too battered. :)

It was fun. I clicked tickets. It was for Harlequin Productions, and they don't tear tickets, anymore. The people at the doors just confirm that the tickets are for the correct performance, then they count the number of patrons wth clickers.
-
Not "Making Love" - Let's Make Love - and she didn't drag me out because of THAT movie - it was the sneak preview that was with it - Come Dance With Me starring Brigitte Bardot. The drag out occurred when Miss Bardot's boyfriend undid the top of her nightie and put his hand on her boob.
Oh my!
but for a moment there, i was experiencing the mental image of BK being dragged out of MAKING LOVE in the 1980's years after he had made FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL in the 1970's. :)
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, too! :D

We have had much rain today and under a Flash Flood watch until Monday afternoon....so we may be swimming down the street.
On the way home fom my friends' house, I was behind a truck spreading salt on the road. :-\

How was the show?
It was pretty good...not their best, but certainly not the worst. Christian Doyle was in it and was his usual good self.
-
Page eight? Really?
-
Christian's grandmother passed away last week. She was the last of the legends of musical theater in the 50's and 60's here in Tacoma.

I'd heard that. :(

Lipstick on Your Collar
and this:

What a coinkydink! "Tan Shoes & Pink Shoelaces" was actually sung in the show that I saw tonight. Two references on the same day of a song that I had never heard of.
-
I think I will read a couple of chapters of my book before it is time for lights out.
-
I think they said it was going to get down to 25 degrees.
My sister and I are going to see the new STAR WARS movie tomorrow morning at 11. Hopefully, any freezing will be melted by the time we go.

Very nice, Vixmom.

Hmm, I had a milestone 80 posts ago and didn't even notice
Crap! I didn't even catch it. Sorry about that, but congrats on the millstone/milestone!

Vixdad and the Vixter had mini scull differences but we treated ourselves to new specs just the same. Costco is so reasonable that the prive fir three exams and three sets of specs was less than I paid for just me the last time I went to LensCrafters
Ipad, stop guessing what I was going to type!!! Minuscule. Not mini skull
I was wondering what it was supposed to be. ::)

My sil came in Christmas Eve kissed and hugged everyone and then proceeded to cough up a lung and say she has been unable to shake her bronchial infection for the past month
:o WTH??
-
The Magnificent Seven is on PBS right now. I went to IMDb to look at the listing and as I typed the title, the auto-fill listing that came up first is for a remake to be relased in September 2016.

Hmm.
