Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on needles and pins, and now it is time for you to post until the needles and pins cows comes homes.

And the word of the day is: INVEIGLE!

Oh, no...David Bowie Dead at 69 (http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/music/rock-visionary-david-bowie-dies-69-n493781). And HERE (http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/11/entertainment/david-bowie-death/index.html) is the report from CNN.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer....

What's weird is that two days ago there was a hoax report about him dying, when he hadn't. And now, two days after the hoax, he's dead.

I never heard about the hoax.
-
When we got Sherlock it was suggested we name him Bowie because of his different colored eyes. Bowie did have a slight difference between his which he often exaggerated with contacts, however, they were not a striking one brown eye and one light blue.
-
Sad news about David Bowie. I admired him, but I wasn't really a fan. I do love his Christmas duet with Bing Crosby.
-
How did we get to Monday again already?
-
I think next year, bk shouldn't schedule a Kritzerland show in January, since he always knows he'll be writing a book then.
-
Sorry that DH Richard had such a harrowing journey, and glad that he arrived home safely!

Me neither.

TOD:
William Goldman's ADVENTURES IN THE SCREEN TRADE is still the best book written about Hollywood and the movies.
-
Of course, right behind Goldman's book are the Hollywood memoirs written by BK and myself.
;)
-
Sorry to hear about Bowie. I was a fan in my earlier days my Ziggy Stardust LP was well played though I haven't listened tio his music in years
I should pull out some of his CDs. I had nit heard he released a new album granted it was only 3 days ago.... Or that he was ill

Good morning, all! I had a long day yesterday and it wasn't helped by the fact that that I was already exhausted when I got to City Center. This leg is wreaking havoc with my sleep patterns, and I feel that I sleepwalked through most of my day with Joshie. I hope I didb't screw up too much. I will learn tomorrow at the rehearsal.
-
Today, I plan on doing little beyond some stretching exercises and tidying the apartment.
-
When I got home last night, I began watching the BBC series Pie in the Sky.
-
Good morning, all.
Was up till all hours again, puttering around.
Methinks: a li'l nap later would be nice.
-
Wasn't sleepy at all when I finally laid my head down, and I tossed and turned for a while. Just as I started to fall asleep for the first of several times, I went immediately into nightmare mode without passing Go or collecting two hundred dollars.
I was living in this apartment building and had been at the neighbor's next door for some time, and when I came out of their place I found my own door standing wide open. OMG, did I do that? And OMG, is there stuff missing? A couple of quick glances around the room confirmed some things were definitely gone, notably...the drum set! In desperation I started pounding on the other neighbor's door to ask what they knew or what they saw.
In so doing, I began to see that I was actually asleep and that this was a dream, for which I was more grateful than I could say. But I nevertheless woke with a start. I would just as soon have awakened without a start, but it was still all good.
-
Good morning.
-
Since we don't need the summer clothes from our trip I have been doing the laundry at my convenience. I am tired of the scattered piles on the floor. I guess I had better get up and begin reducing them.
-
Joshie just called. "Taking A Chance on Love" just came in and Jonathan requested it be ready for tomorrow's rehearsal.
So, I'm going to City Center at 2:00 and I'll leave when everything's ready for tomorrow morning.
-
Question for BK:
Why don't you post the new Kritzerland release(s) before you go to bed at night, rather than getting up at 6 am in order to do it?
Just wondering...
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
-
I never paid a lot of attention to David Bowie, though I did see The Hunger and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence.
But I wonder what's going to happen to his Lazarus musical, which just had a tryout production in New York.
-
I am enjoying Elvis Costello's autobiography, however. It's called Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink, and he seems to be encyclopedic in his knowledge of popular music in the second half of the 20th century. There are anecdotes about plenty of people in the theater business and mentions of shows of the time period, including Half a Sixpence and Pickwick.
His father was a band singer who often recorded under a number of different names. One was a single of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" with, what he calls, "the Topol hit, 'If I Were a Rich Man'" on the flip side. It seems his dad also recorded a version of "If I Loved You" under the name Hal Prince.

The main online dealer asked us to announce at the same time he does and since he takes so much product, I do.
-
I was up at six, announced, then went back to bed, not to sleep, but to think. I thought, worked out what my issue was with the new chapter (where I kept waffling back and forth about what it was going to be), and realized I didn't like the one I chose. I found a new and nice way into it and got up and wrote those two pages before going back to futz and finesse. I may go back to bed for another thirty minutes, just to think some more, then I'll begin the futzing and finessing.

Good Morning

Back to work - for two days!!

Page Two Dance!!!!

Tomorrow night, I leave for Orlando for a Technology Conference for work. I'm really excited, and a little scared. Most of it is clothing related as the weather is so different each minute in Orlando. I do this all the time before I go somewhere, and all the times it works out fine. It's not like I'm going to a deserted island.
Anyway - 3 days at the conference and 2 1/2 days at Walt Disney World. Should be a great week.

I was there a year ago this week. Weather was cooler than usual. Easier to take off clothes than put on something you don't have with you.

Monday afternoon greetings! My first stop this morning was the FedEx office in the convention center to send about 12 pounds of books and papers home. I then spent a little more time in the exhibits and got to visit with another Dayton colleague and an ALA presidential candidate I actually know. Since I'd only had coffee and a granola bar in my room for breakfast, I went to the hotel coffee shop for a nice brunch about 11 and I've been relaxing in my room. Pretty soon I'll make my way back to the convention center for the closing speaker, Chelsea Clinton.
-
Oy! I think I just poisoned myself with a bedbug spray.
-
DR Matthew, one of the exhibitors I talked to this morning was from the Orlando tourism office, because our annual conference is there at the end of June. That's ALA for you - Boston in the winter and Orlando in the summer...
And from another vendor I purchased Frommer's EasyGuide to Disney World, Universal, and Orlando 2016 for $1.00. Good deal - it's listed at $14.95.
Have a great time!

Oy! I think I just poisoned myself with a bedbug spray.
Oy!
I took some garbage to the basement and there was this lovely abandoned wooden table/cabinet on wheels that I liked and could use, so I brought it upstairs. I got a bit paranoid about bringing it into the apartment, so I decided to spray it to death with a bedbug pesticide. I guess the hallway wasn't as well ventilated as I had hoped. I am feeling nauseous, but if I get sick at City Center, I'll come home.

Easy breathing vibes for Elmore.

Slept for another hour or so, then Muse Margaret called - turns out she'd been out all day, then had to make dinner, then watched the Golden Globes - she read half last night but didn't want to call until she'd read it all. One of the very few times where she had not one note or anything. She said she laughed from start to finish and she's finding it oddly touching at some places - I'm not striving for that but I'm glad it's somehow there. So, a good call.

When the weather can quickly change from hot to cold having the right clothes is important. The only time we were at Disney World the most crowded place there was the Disney store as people shopped for the warmest clothes they could find. The heat wave temp had suddenly dropped to 25 degrees.

Oh no! Do you have bedbugs again or is that a precaution?

You just answered my question. At least the spray isn't in your bed.
Vibes you feel better once you are out in the fresh air!!

SAFE, EASY, AND FUN TRAVEL VIBES FOR DR MATTHEW!!

HA! And I am back!
New updated driver.....AMD said the driver was a "legacy" and they had no updates for it, but the computer technician got one from Microsoft - he said the company always has a library of drivers.....
He also said I had a couple of Malwares.....and they are gone! AND they did not have to wipe my hard drive so all of my programs and files are intact.
Happy Day!

TOD:
Theatre: William Goldman's THE SEASON - mentioned by DR JOHN G.
Television: Here I Go Again by Betty White, a memoir of her professional life in television.....very entertaining and informative.
Many other books: Second Act Trouble, Ethan Morrden's books about theatre by the decade......some biographies/autobiographies....including of course MR BK's books.

Oops, forgot to log out when I went over to the convention center to see Chelsea Clinton. Her presentation was delightful, but I didn't hang around to get a free copy of her book and have it autographed.
-
Beautiful birds.

I'm on the phone, once again, dealing with the furniture store that still has not picked up the desk chair they said I could return. Thanks goodness I have an email confirming they will do this vs an exchange. It has now been 5 months and 8 days since my first conversation.

They sound as forgetful as I feel lately.
-
Forgetful is not the word I would use. :D
-
The woman I spoke to is heading over to the billing department to get our refund going and a date to pick up the chair. She will email me in about 20 minutes with the confirmations.
Fingers crossed I actually hear back from her and this is finally going to happen!
-
Back from a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a few onion rings.
-
I've done seven pages so far, and I'm back in that mode, so I'll definitely write another five to seven pages after rehearsal.
-
Hairdresser Teddy is devastated about David Bowie. He did his hair whenever Bowie toured.

But I'm being polite. For a change. Maybe for the first time this month.

That's cool. Though Bowie was talented, his image was a huge part of the impact he had.

I'm sure he is then. This loss is personal. My condolences to Teddy.

I received an email with a pick up date for this Thursday. I had plans in the morning but we shall make it work. They should call tomorrow with a 3 hour window.

LOL

I was sooooo relieved to receive the email. I'm tired of tripping over the beautiful chair that I can't use. Once the chair is out of the closet I will be able to shut the closet door.
-
I am home from City Center. I feel much better, but i had a horrible time getting there, Seventh Avenue was closed at 57th Street (my destination) so the 104 bus went down 9th Avenue and stopped at 59th Street. I had to walk two blocks to the 67th and 9th bus stop where i waited 20 minutes for a bus to arrive. Once there, I saw Rob Berman, who's back from Bright Star in DC and preparing for tomorrow's rehearsal. Took me about 2.5 hours to proof Joshie's score, and he sent me home. He has a lot of hours yet tonight to make the fixes in the new score, format the parts, and print them out while his nrother Jeremy tapes the parts together. Joshie thinks I tape lousy, so he sent me home.
-
I'm glad you are feeling better.
-
I've been on hold with social security to change our address. They are very polite regarding the long wait. I may give up soon and go for a walk.
-
Good evening!
-
Looking forward to the new book, BK!
-
I'm sorry about David Bowie, but I have to admit I don't know his music at all.
-
Good evening. Phoenix is back to its beautiful winter weather.
-
Yesterday before church I climbed my mountain. I need to do that three or four times per week again.
-
Glad to hear about the chair, DR Jane!
-
Glad to hear you're feeling better, DR elmore!
-
It took me 90 minutes to get home tonight on Metro. It used to take about 50 minutes, now it usually takes an hour. The only announcement I heard was that there was an "incident" affecting the blue and yellow lines. When I finally got to my station, as I was walking up the (long) escalator, it gave up and stopped abruptly. Just had to laugh!
-
Have a great trip, DR Matthew!
-
Yesterday before church I climbed my mountain. I need to do that three or four times per week again.
I miss mountain climbing. I enjoyed the hills and stairs on our trip. The one thing I don't enjoy about my walk here is that it is flat.
Speaking of walking......I'm heading out.
-
Glad to hear about the chair, DR Jane!
Thanks.
-
Social Security finally answered and that is taken care. I thought it had been prior to our move. I handed the phone to Keith after I changed my address and his had been changed. I think somehow I was missed.
-
What is this I hear about DR Jane being mist?
-
We have had a forecast for freezing fog. I don't know exactly what that is.
-
But it's good enough to take us to the next page.
-
Getting close.
-
Almost there.
-
OK. PAGE FOUR!
-
Just had another nice room service dinner of Caesar salad, veggie pizza, and a Blue Moon. Getting ready to watch the college football national championship and I have a little pizza left if I want a halftime snack.

Beer. I had some Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia for an afternoon snack.
Back on my diet Wednesday...
-
I had to look it up and both came up though I figured the odds were beer, but then I remembered you like ice cream.
-

I thought she was playing Myst (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myst).
;)

I really need to make hotel reservations for Tacoma.
-
Well, I need to leave work and go home. I have some TV watching to do, so that I can free up some space on my DVRs (both of them).
Be back later.
-
I really need to make hotel reservations for Tacoma.
Yes, you do! ;D
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
And NOW I'm off.

Think of it as mountain climbing in the urban jungle.
-
Looking forward to the new book, BK!
I am, too. These last few have been highlights of each year.
-
We have had a forecast for freezing fog. I don't know exactly what that is.
Sounds like that John Carpenter horror movie.
-
And NOW I'm off.
You certainly are!
-
And NOW I'm off.
You certainly are!
Aren't we all?
(That was the name of the play I saw with Rex Harrison, Claudette Colbert, Lynn Redgrave, George Rose and Jeremy Brett. Great, silly fun.)
-
It's cold here tonight. And yes, I know that's relative.
-
Watching Rohmer's film, Suzanne's Career. The Criterion print is not very good. But the film is fascinating. The lives and relationships of the college set warts ( or rather acne) and all. These people look like real people, not like, say, the perfect St. Elmo's Fire crowd.
-
Have I cleared the place out?
-
Yup. 0 guests.
-
There ain't nobody here but us chickens. Minus the chickens.
-
That could have been two posts.
-
I made a marinade of orange juice, soy sauce and brown sugar and marinated pork chops for 2 days. I cooked Them tonight for dinner and tHeynwere really nice
-
We ate them while watching Downton Abby
-
Then we warched The Queen with Helen Mirren
-
She's always dropping by to watch tv,,,, get yer own we rell her , but noooooo. She just barges in....

Rehearsal was fun. Several of the kids are under the weather so hopefully they'll rest and get fully better. I can only tell you when the three young ones, aged eleven, ten and nine, I think, performed the opening number, I fell off my chair laughing. The sheer chutzpah of what we're doing combined with them doing it - it is priceless and will go down in Kritzerland history or infamy. More about that in the notes. I've written another page and am having a snack and then I will do at least five to seven more pages.
-
Good evening!
-
Five!
-
Well, that was fun.
-
Just home from rehearsal.
-
Also stopped at Jack-in-the-Box for a couple of tacos.
-
I think I forgot to eat today.
-
No, wait, I think I had a Cup of Noodles for breakfast.
-
Rehearsal went better tonight.
-
At least for me.
-
Also stopped at Jack-in-the-Box for a couple of tacos.
The Tumwater Taco Bell just closed last week. :( I hadn't heard anything about it.
-
I just drove by in the evening and all the lights were off. The place just got remodelled last summer, too.
-
One of the ladies in the show was missing tonight because she has the flu.
-
I only mentioned it because the Taco Bell is right next to Tumwater's Jack-in-the-Box, and you mentioning JitB reminded me.
-
Hopefully, it won't spread to the rest of the women in the show.
-
Rehearsal went better tonight.
Good!
-
Hopefully, it won't spread to the rest of the women in the show.
~~~Vibes it Doesn't Spread to Anyone!!~~~
-
Except for the final scene, the men and the the women in the show don't mix during the show.
-
Well, most of the men don't mix with the women.
-
Just had another nice room service dinner of Caesar salad, veggie pizza, and a Blue Moon. Getting ready to watch the college football national championship and I have a little pizza left if I want a halftime snack.
LOVE Blue Moon :-)
-
It is a strange show that way.
-
We are on stage at the same time, but the men are in the bar and the women are in the beauty shop.
-
Or the saloon and the salon.
-
Anyway, I just hope I can avoid getting sick.
-
Perhaps I should try to get a flu shot tomorrow.
-
Or the saloon and the salon.
Cute!
-
I expected to get one at my doctor's office last month, but they were out.
-
Normally, when I go to the pharmacy, I go to the drive-thru rather than going inside.
-
No shots at the drive-thru!
-
I hope Rite Aid isn't out.
-
I'll call before I go.
-
One more post.
-
Six!
-
Hopefully, it won't spread to the rest of the women in the show.
~~~Vibes it Doesn't Spread to Anyone!!~~~
DITTO!!
-
Stay well vibes for DR TCB!
-
Sftay well vibes for DR TCB!
Thank you. I hope those vibes work.
-
At least I don't go without enough sleep, now that I am retired.
-
Next week will be late nights at rehearsal, but I shouldn't get run down.
-
Well, I need to go to sleep now. I have another dental appointment in the morning, and it's a little earlier than when I've normally had appointments.
Good night, Tom...and anyone else hanging around.
