Well, you've read the notes, the notes' journey began, and now it is time for you to post until the journeying cows come home.

And the word of the day is: OSSIFY!

First post after BK!

First post after TCB after BK

I desperately need to get to the office early today and I am trying o wake up. Hoping a cuppa Joe will help

TOD:
"Though April Showers may come your way.
They bring the flowers
That bloom in May...."
:D
Sorry, that's the best I can do.
Off to L.A. this afternoon.
-
good morning to all

tod
The only song that comes to mind is "In The Merry Month of May" not sure if that's the title. Used to sing it as a child but only can remember the title line.
-
Good morning, all.
Sleep. Coffee. I want it all, man.
-
Good news from DR VIXMOM.
Glad the LA Show is moving along.

TOD:
End of May sung by Michael Buble, but I can't find a video

Good morning, all!

I think there is some sort of sptware/virus/doohickey on this Mac and I'm a bit preoccupied with getting it off this Mac
-
I have decided as well that I am leaving physical therapy, much as I believe in its values. Whatever is affecting this leg is not getting hit in this round of therapy, and I also feel like an HMO guinea pig sent from test to test and no one is locating the problem or the solution. i am not ha[[y today.
-
So, I am not happy today and I'm stuck here waiting for Time Warner to show up and remove this DVR.
-
In Manhattan, May 1 was "Moving Day:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_Day_(New_York_City)
There are at least two songs that mention this, the verse to "Mountain Greenery" (On the First of May / It is Moving Day) and a Jerome Kern song from Oh, Boy!, "The First Day of May" (And you go and find that maybe / You have gone and packed the baby).
-
Good morning, all.

In At Long Last Love, Coke Porter ask:
Is this a gay time
Affair of May time ...

Good Tuesday Vibes for Everybody today.

TOD: Would Cinco de Mayo songs count for this?
-
Was there a title song for "Very Warm for May"

All the months are in "Calendar Girl"

Feel better vibes to DR TCB!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you woke up feeling better!

DR Jean, thanks for the link. I have seen runners on the path here wearing those arm bands with the larger phones. I think it is more to use the phone to track their heartbeat, speed, distance than to comfortably carry the phone.
I don't Know anyone here I can get to sew something. I found some possible options on eBay. Fossil shows a hands free phone wallet that I thought would be perfect, except I don't see anything on it to make it hands free.
Ginny, I checked Vera Bradley and found a pretty phone wallet but it only has a wrist strap.

DR elmore did you discuss your thoughts with your therapists? It is possiple there is someone else there who might have a different approach that will work.

So, following weeks of waiting for this to be finalized, I can say that in June a regional company up here is presenting James Lapine's ACT ONE, for which I will play the scene-setting/transitioning piano music composed by Louis Rosen for the Lincoln Center production. It only plays two weekends, so, not a huge project to take up loads of one's time, but it should be a relaxing and interesting change from typical musical activity.
They originally had it in mind to use the piano, but with bits of period music from hither and yon. I held my ground on doing it if they'd license the Lincoln Center music. I'm pleased that they did, and I'm rather looking forward to it.

The worst part of a Time Warner service call? The number of unnecessary phone calls beforehand! Three this morning and one last night, all from an automated voice regurgitating the same unnecessary information.
They all end with "if you do not wish to change this appointment, do nothing" after making you listen to a lot of needless options. Did they ever think that if i wanted to cancel or reschedule, I might call them and request it?

Good Morning All:
TOD:
STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK!!!

The cable man is here. I like the fact that he showed up on time.
-
Sounds like fun DR CHAS SMITH.
I am being taught my song for LITTLE WOMEN tonight.
-
My TV is back, and I had a fantastic service man named Rashawn, who seemed a really good fellow. He arrived on time, and was out of here in 25 minutes. I will give him a great review when Time Warner does their follow up call.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! Rob and I were at the book sale site at 10am to help with the move-out. I didn't do much but provide the cargo space in my car and Rob's muscle. I bought him lunch and dropped him off at Miami in time for his genetics class.

May was a character's name.
Yes, but that does remind me of "Charming Weather," the hit song from the 1909 London musical, THE ARCADIANS:
It's nice and warm, I think that we shall have a lovely day,
Very very warm for May,
Eighty in the shade, they say.
Just fancy!
It almost looks as if the sun has really come to stay;
My, what very charming weather!
The show was also a hit in Manhattan, and Kern and Wodehouse discussed it when writing the 1917 Have A Heart.

Good man. Now I hope your problem is fixed.

This is a new one. Thanks for the link. Anything on my wrist or arm won't work. I layer clothes and am constantly layering them off and on while I walk.

Second playing of Eubie! today. Brings back a host of memories.
-
We (our staff plus a few assorted others) are going to lunch across the street at Lake Chalet (downtown Oakland on Lake Merritt) to celebrate the birthday of one of our staffers.
-
I have a 2 p.m. appointment with my doctor today to see about my blood pressure meds and why they're not doing what she wants them to do (two weeks ago, she tossed out the meds that were working in favor of a new med) (one week ago, another doctor doubled my evening dose and quadrupled my morning dose in hopes that would work) (the morning dosage is working marginally well but my pulse is too low).
We shall see what we shall see.
And then we shall see more.
-
Am looking forward to watching some of my new Twilight Time Blu ray discs this week. First up will be Fred Zinneman's marvelous 1977 film "Julia" starring Vanessa Redgrave, Jane Fonda, and Jason Robards Jr.
-
"Eubie" and the Howard Hanson CDs arrived yesterday. Many thanks!!
-
In 10 more posts, we'll be on page 3.
-
Sadly, it's just me and one guest online right now.
-
vixmom, I hope today's work day is less hellacious than yesterday's.
-
Oakland is overcast today. We aren't expecting any rain until tomorrow...and that's "iffy".
-
One of my co-workers made chili for yesterday's cook-off. She had quite a bit left over and has invited me to take a big batch of it home.
I may just do so.
-
So much to do, so little time.
-
For he, or she, who is scrolling through all these messages and wondering when the hell I am going to shut up, the end is near.
-
The end is surely only a few posts away.
-
So sad to be all alone on HainesHisWay.com.
The one guest is of no comfort at all.
-
Sometimes, though, when I think God is watching, I'll sing and dance and do a commercial for myself!
(I stole that from Lily Tomlin's character "Edith Ann").

"Eubie" arrived here yesterday, too!

Good news DR ELMORE.
JULIA as also the film in which Meryl Streep made her motion picture DEBUT. That question was on the RuPaul Gay For Play quiz show last night.
When he didn't get many of the questions right, Jerry O'Connell asked "What is the demographic for this show?" And proceeded to walk around the set pretending he was using a walker.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - woke up at ten-fifteen and fell right back asleep - so I got about ten and a half hours - I didn't want to sleep quite this long, but I guess I needed to.
-
Home from market with cauliflower, broccoli, celery, water cress, tomatoes, bean sprouts, and croissants. I need to go to the corner bodega for peanut butter and butter when my pains ease up.
-
Isn't it frustrating when you listen to a song many, many times and still can't make sense of it?
I'm hoping tonight when I have my music, it will all be revealed. The cd is not much help.....

SORTING OUT THE MEDS VIBES FOR DR RON!

EUBIE! (http://www.kritzerland.com/Eubie.htm) has arrived in Tumwater! :D

My TV is back, and I had a fantastic service man named Rashawn, who seemed a really good fellow. He arrived on time, and was out of here in 25 minutes. I will give him a great review when Time Warner does their follow up call.
That's great!

I've been busy, didn't even walk, searching for a solution to my phone problem. There is a microphone clip I can purchase that will clip on to me and connect my hearing aids to my phone. It is not cheap, but far less expensive than new hearing aids that link without an extra microphone to my hearing aids.
-
I am also trying to decide what to buy to replace my beloved Nook that is falling apart. Really the beloved part is the soft, extra padded, cover I am attached to. They don't seem to make these any more.
Do I buy the Samsung Galaxy Nook that is B&N friendly or a regular Galaxy, or look for something else. The reviews say the reader, most important to me, is the best out there but the battery life isn't great and it is slow. My current Nook is very slow & takes forever to connect to the wifi.

Have you seen something called Sholdit. They have it on amazon. It is a scarf that has a zippered pocket where you can store a phone, keys, money...
-
I'm listening to EUBIE! I don't think I've ever heard it. I think that I might have the album, but I haven't had my turntable set up for quite a few years. It's quite enjoyable, and sounds really good.

Thank you.
The scarf is very clever. I might get one for the winter.

The soft cell phone wallet is what I have been looking for, except it doesn't go on a belt. It does have a big metal ring that attaches to the wrist that I could clip to a carbine and wear hanging from my pants, along with other items hanging from carbines.
I love carbines.
-
We renewed our Costco membership and I ordered the less expensive microphone clip. I hope it works and I didn't cheat myself not purchasing the brand name.
-
DR Jennifer I will probably purchase the wallet if I don't find one I like better. The phone doesn't fit in all of my pants pockets. I want to see how well the microchip works first.
-
Good evening!

Page 3?
-
I don't care how old Madame Rose is supposed to be, I'm looking forward to seeing Barbra in Gypsy!
-
Glad to hear your cable service went well, DR elmore!
-
EUBIE! (http://www.kritzerland.com/Eubie.htm) has arrived in Tumwater! :D
Now listening to it for a third time today. Even the bird is dancing along.

Ditto!

I love carbines.
Especially in a tossed salad. :)
-
I need to finish my taxes tonight.
-
But I don't want to do them.
-
At least not until we leave this page.
-
Gregory Hines is singing about the Low Down Blues, and I'm singing the High Tax Blues.
-
One more.
-
Four!
-
Bye for now.
-
I love carbines.
Especially in a tossed salad. :)
None in my salad tonight. I also didn't have any carabiners which I meant to write. I tend to call it the wrong name ;D
I'm having trouble finding good ones since we moved.

DR Jane what are those?
-
Attention Bruce Kimmel. If the page count is low you go have only yourself to blame... I am spending the evening with Patrick Bronstein
-
DR Jane what are those?
They are carabiners
-
Well, it's work-leaving-time for me. I have been here at work for far too long.
Be back later.
-
Attention Bruce Kimmel. If the page count is low you go have only yourself to blame... I am spending the evening with Patrick Bronstein
But before I go...I just started reading this today. I got through the first one and a half chapters. Can't wait to get back to it!
-
And NOW I'm leaving!
-
I have just finished taxes. Time for a small drink of celebration.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100.
-
Good evening!
-
John, nice to see you here.
-
Congratulations on finishing your taxes. Hopefully it ended on a positive note.
-
Another quiet night at HHW.
-
What has become of Cilla?
-
She must really be swamped at work.
-
Either that, or her ball team is playing in town.
-
Fixed up a strange drink. I just grabbed a bottle of Luxardo Fernet, which is not like Fernet Branca (what I really wanted). Instead, it's this strong Italian bitters with a heavy cardamom and eucalyptus flavor. I had to dilute it with some soda. Not unattractive. But not expected.
-
Congratulations on finishing your taxes. Hopefully it ended on a positive note.
Thank you, sir. See the preceding post.
-
How are you doing today, TCB?
-
I, too, have wondered where both CillaLiz and Singdaw have been lately. Hope they have been well.
-
No movies for me tonight.
-
I love this book.
-
What does the Branca taste like?
-
now I need a little time to digest before I can write a review
-
I, too, have wondered where both CillaLiz and Singdaw have been lately. Hope they have been well.
I have been worried about SnoopDog, too.
-
Which reminds me, I have to finish my review of fJLs very funny and clever parody book
-
Page four? Really?
-
Hi, Debby!
-
Cilla is one of the busiest people I know... She is involved in so many community events
-
And singssongs has been a regular cultural butterfly since he went west young man

Back from a long day and a fun rehearsal. Of course the "sharing" actors thing really blew up today because the director with whom I'm sharing doesn't understand what "sharing" means and I'm tired of it. I was told I would have our shared actors at seven sharp. Instead, she changed her mind about sending notes to her cast and kept them all until 7:45, and despite my actors begging her to give them their notes first, she wouldn't. She's being talked to sternly by several people tonight and from here on in, when I'm told when I'll have the actors I'll damn well have the actors.
-
I suppose they have gotten too busy to keep up with the likes of ussen
-
So Vixmom, you have finished the book?
-
What does the Branca taste like?
Very herbal. Some would say medicinal.
-
What does the Branca taste like?
Very herbal. Some would say medicinal.
Neither one sounds like much of a celebratory drink.
-
Everyone is gone! I showered this morning.
-
Greetings 1 Guest!
-
I have a million things to get done in the next 72 hours.
-
And I am too tired to do any of them.
-
Time to switch to my IPad.
-
And I am back.
-
DR Jane what are those?
I clip then on to my purse or pant loops and hang my keys, hat, and sunglass case on them.
-
I have a book to finish. I have not been reading at my usual pace lately and am 5 books behind my book challenge. I expect I will be reducing the number of books next year when I decide how many I want to read ;D
-
Is that your way of saying good night?
-
Apparently, it is.
-
Well, I suppose I should do something
destructive constructive.
-
I guess I will leave our 1 Guest in charge.
-
For now, at least, farewell!
-
And speaking of...nothing, really, I had set my DVR to record "The Main Event" tonight on TCM, starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal (I haven't seen it in years and I love the title song), but I was also checking out some CDs that I just got on eBay by playing them in my Blu-ray player.
-
Anyway, I switched my TV dispay to my Blu-ray player to play the CDs and that was fine, but when I went back to my DVR, it turns out that my DVR stopped recording while my Blu-ray player was playing, and restarted the recording when I switched the display back! WTF?? It lost some of the movie because of the break in the recording. Why the heck would my DVR stop recording just because it wasn't being displayed on my TV?? I just deleted both segment of the movie because it wasn't complete. :(
-

Yikes! Hopefully, that director gets her act together and doesn't make the actors feel like they're in the middle of a power struggle.

...are...

PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
I made sure the actors knew I wasn't angry at them and that none of this is their fault - they all knew this director was in the wrong for handling the notes session the way she did.
