Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the matter of the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the Claus Ogerman cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WAGGISH!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
Third post after BK!
-
Thanks so much, TCB, for your post last night.
And many thanks also to John G.
Very much appreciated!
-
Hmm, I probably should have extended that to at least two posts, if not three.

TOD: I don't think I've ever owned a Sinatra album, unless the Guys and Dolls movie soundtrack counts.
But my favorite Sinatra track is his rendition of "I've Got You under My Skin."
-
Perversely enough, I recall that my family did have a Nancy Sinatra album in our collection.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was a night of more dreams of dead family members and weird juxtapositions of time and place. I went to Middletown Mall to give Jason Graae a Christmas gift in one and only DR Ginny - since she lives in Middletown - could appreciate my drive to get there. In another, I took a family trip to see relatives along the Ohio River. In aother, I went with friends to a horror film at the Colonial Theatre, only it was in Oxford, Ohio, where the bat Mac and Joe's is.
-
DR TCB, I'm happy that Nicky is okay.
-
DR Laura, after the performance next Saturday, did you want to meet Captain von Trapp? If so, IO will send him a message that you are coming to the show.
-
This is another Joshie day for me so I will head down to City Center around 10:00. When I first got to Manhattan in the early 80's, I wanted to end up in a relationship and possibly have a child. Well, things don't always happen as you'd wish, some things aren't in the cards, and I bombed out at romance.
During the 1990s and early part of the millenium, my goddaughter Charlotte filled those parental ambitions, but she's now an adult and chasing her own dreams. Joshie has become my new surrogate son, and I'm very grateful for that.
-
I as thinking this weekend was the end of my wearing shorts until next spring, but I just heard the temperatures may be in the 80s next week. Reprieved!
-
Good morning from Essex ct
-
Between 3 sets of road works and one multicar accident the 2 hour drive turned into a 4 hours drive
-
I did notice a billboard for the Pez visitor center off route 95
-
Chas was keeping this exciting vacation spot a deep dark secret
-
Good morning to all
-
I went on line the past few days to see if I can add to my Walt Disney Treasure series. I want to get the Donald Duck Vol 3 and 4.
I almost plotz. Ebay and Amazon. Depending who was selling them they were asking $400 and more for them. Strange though Vol 1 & 2 were more reasonable starting around $30 depending on the seller. (I already have 1 & 2)
What is so special about these two that people are asking so much?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Saturday morning greetings! Richard and I are cat-sitting this weekend while Rob and Mary Linda are on a camping trip. They will house-sit for us when we go to Virginia for Richard's clergy meeting at the end of the month.

I have to make a scary dish for a Halloween get-together. Which of these sounds scariest?
Molded tomato salad: canned tomatoes, lemon jello, mayo, cucumber, celery, green pepper and onion.
Cucumber Gelatin Salad: Lime jello, grated cucumber, onion, pecans, cottage cheese, mayo.
Tart Cherry Mold: pienapple, pie cherries, cherry jello, Coke, nuts
Avocado Mold: lime jello, cream cheese, avocado, onion, garlic, lemon juice

TOD:
The only Sinatra album I own outside of soundtracks is his Christmas album. I would rather watch him in On the Town than listen to him. I always seem to prefer someone else's recording: Ella or Bobby Short on Witchcraft, Liza on Theme from New York, New York, Mel Torme or even Jimmy Stewart on I've Got You Under My Skin. They seem to respect the music and the lyrics more.
That said, I like Summer Wind.

I'm up, I'm up - barely - maybe five hours of sleep but I think I know what book I'd like to write.

It is very calm here.
-
Good morning!
-
The rain has started here, but the wind isn't expected until later this afternoon.
-
The most recent report said that the storm is tracking west, so it may spare the Puget Sound region the heaviest winds.
-
Instead, it looks like the coast will get the strongest winds and we in the interior will top out with gusts in the 50 mph range.
-
Aaaahhhhhh! It's Sweet Saturday!
-
But that could all change by this afternoon.
-
Just rain and a little wind here.
-
It is very calm here.
Calm is good.
Vibes to all our PNW friends!
-
It still isn't expected until later today. Our warnings are mostly that is MAY come down the I-5 corridor. Some local activities, such as the growers market, have been cancelled. Flooding in areas, I don't think us, are of concern from the rain. Of course, power outages if it is very windy.
-
Thanks for the vibes. It really has been difficult to be over concerned when the warning came so far in advance and all has been good ;D
-
Good afternoon!
-
It's a beautiful day in the Washington, DC area.
-
I took my car for the annual safety inspection and semi-annual emissions inspection. So glad it passed both!
-
That is always a relief. I would hate to deal with the hassle if my car didn't pass.
-
I saw a cute story in the news this morning. Officers were called about an intruder in the house. When they arrived what they saw gave them a good laugh.

I'v finished my work with Joshie and just in time: I am getting sick. I don't know if it's the aftermath of the flu shot this week or what it might be, but I am going to bed. I told Joshie to take all precautions so he isn't infected from my proximity and got on a bus.
I am happy to be home in one piece.
-
Continued weather vibes for our Northwest contingents.
-
Not much is happening here - and that is a good thing. I got an automated call from my Medicare Part D Prescription Provider telling me all about the changes for 2017 - not many of them apply to me.
I had to listen to the whole thing and say YES OR NO at the appropriate time.
-
According to some nut job pundit, we were supposed to have the worst "mega-storm" in history - today. Last I looked, the sun was out (and is) and it's quite a pretty day out.
-
Took stuff to Amoeba (well, the helper did), and it's kind of shocking the low money they're giving now - I think I'd rather throw this stuff in the trash than let them make money by screwing people on these things.
-
Had some bacon, eggs, and toast since it looks like dinner isn't happening this evening. I'll see Doug's show instead, and I'll jog in about two hours.
-
Good
morning afternoon, all.
-
Had a terrible night's sleep for no good reason at all, and had to get up early to play auditions for a holiday show.
-
So finally, here I am, after which I'm going to settle in for a well deserved nap.
-
Between 3 sets of road works and one multicar accident
I first read that as "Between 3 sets of road work and one nuclear accident..."
-
I had to listen to the whole thing and say YES OR NO at the appropriate time.
I have no doubt that you delivered your lines to perfection, DR Jrand66.
-
Took stuff to Amoeba (well, the helper did), and it's kind of shocking the low money they're giving now - I think I'd rather throw this stuff in the trash than let them make money by screwing people on these things.
Oy! This does not bode well for the rest of the U.S.A.
-
I must now nap, and then this evening a bunch of friends and I are going to some kind of pumpkin blaze thing in Sleepy Hollow.
-
Thank goodness I included NO Blu-rays in this batch. Perhaps eBay for those. Or maybe I'll list here and folks can have a go at them.
-
Got an absolutely amazing box set of the entirety of Dave Brubeck's studio albums from Columbia - the ONLY disappointment is the non-inclusion of Points on Jazz, his ballet - it's not technically a Brubeck album but it could have easily been included as an extra CD for completists and for people who have been longing for it since the advent of CD. Maybe I'll see about licensing it for Kritzerland. One lovely thing is the Bernstein plays Brubeck plays Bernstein album - I'd recently for six bucks bought a CD of it on Amazon - a bootleg as it turned out, a vinyl transfer from bootleggers who don't even know enough to get a stereo album to rip-off - so it was in horrid mono. It's a GREAT stereo recording and sounds amazing in this box set. I'm putting everything into iTunes right now.
-
Continued weather vibes for our Northwest contingents.
Thank you.
-
I had a very nice walk this morning. While my rain jacket and the clothing around my neck is wet my quick dry pants were dry by the time I returned home.
The wind has picked up a little but it is nothing out of the ordinary.
-

I had to listen to the whole thing and say YES OR NO at the appropriate time.
That is very annoying ;D
-
According to some nut job pundit, we were supposed to have the worst "mega-storm" in history - today. Last I looked, the sun was out (and is) and it's quite a pretty day out.
The worst storm in history might go down the I-5 corridor but I have not read it will reach you. What storm is this?
-
I'm off for another walk.
-
Well, last night's opening night went really well! Thanks for all the vibes and good wishes! We had about 17 people, plus three of the directors, and the house manager, for a total of 20 people. They all really enjoyed it! Everyone in the cast did very well, and there was only one technical glitch...another late cue by the sound and light board operators. ::)
;)
-
After the show, the cast and crew and directors stuck around and had an opening night party. People brought food and drinks and we all played Cards Against Humanity! If you offend easily, don't even look it up. It can get pretty raunchy and VERY funny...if you like that sort of thing, which I do! :))
-
Today, I fixed some typos that were still in the program, then I have to print more programs, especially since I now have an updated second edition of the program. The guy who printed the programs for yesterday, actually only printed enough for yesterday, so that's good. We don't have an entire run's worth of incorrect programs. One of the most glaring typo was that the last name of one of the actors was misspelled in both the cast list and her bio! Now, it's all correct. :)
-
So, I'm off to print programs, then I'm meeting my friend Margo to eat and visit, since we haven't seen each other in a while. I don't know if anything is happening tonight after the show, but we'll see. And who knows what will happen, weather-wise. :-\ Tomorrow is our one and only matinee, then we're done until Friday...no Thursday performance.
Be back later!
-
Thank goodness I included NO Blu-rays in this batch. Perhaps eBay for those. Or maybe I'll list here and folks can have a go at them.
Do list them here please
-
DR George I am pleased you had a good show. Vibes the weather doesn't interfere with the show tonight and that you have a good audience.
-
We had a lovely day today
-
First a dream locomotive ride to Haddam where we ate at Gelsons which is on the Essex river right next to the goodspeed opera house. When ae,arrived just before 1230 it was, virtually empty and we had a lovely table right at the window with a glorious View
-
Within 20 minutes the place was packed
-
We had a lovely lunch crab cakes for an appetizer and the Gelsons special salad for lunch
-
Poached pear, cranberries, orange sections, on spinach with a fig vinegerette dressing
-
Vixdad had grilled chicken breast on his while I opted for the grilled shrimp
-
As soon as we were done we walked out and there was the shuttle bus coming down the road just in time to take us to.our boat tour
-
As we sat I. The b9at waiting to cast off I said unto vixdad wouldn't it be col.to see the swing bridge operatin
-
Spell check changed to into unto I wasn't trying to be biblical
-
And Lo as the words left my lips verily the bridge did tremble and shake and truly truly I say unto ye it did swing open and twonsailboats did pass through unto the other side
-
Ok I was kinda trying that time
-
Tha weather has been fantastic. Clear skies sunny no wind and high 60's
-
On the boat trip we saw 5 bald eagles, 1 full grown, and 4 young ones ranging from 1 to 4 years
-
I wish Laura and her camera were there to capture it
-
Then we had another trip on the steam train back to the station
-
On the train the conductor mentioned a sandwich/ice cream shop in a old house built in 1789.
-
We decided to check it out it is called Two Wrassling Cars and it is really lovely
-
Each of the rooms is still.set up like a house, dining room, living room, den filled with comfortable furniture and dining tables
-
The walls are decorated with a mixture of Cat pictures and artwork for sale by local artists
-
I wish we lived closer because with the he menu selections and prices and ambience we would certainly become regulars
-
Such fun DR VIXMOM.....and good weather! It's a grand slam!
-
Verily.
-
I wish we lived closer because with the he menu selections and prices and ambience we would certainly become regulars
-
Diane Ladd is such an awful actress......I am watching WILD ANGELS.....she looks like everyone's mother even though she's only 33 years old.
-
The local high school is performing The Pirates of Penzance tonight and we thought about going but
-
After a full day of walking and eating we decided we really needed naps
-
Vixdad is dozing and I will be joining him soon I think
-
Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog - today was difficult for some reason or I might have done three-and-a-half. Still importing Mr. Brubeck - this stuff is just brilliant - you can see the trajectory from the early albums of standards, as he gets more adventurous and suddenly out of nowhere comes Time Out, one of the greatest albums ever made, a work of sheer unadulterated genius.

Four more to import, the final four Columbia studio albums. Meanwhile, I'm synching my iPod for the car since I've added two thousand songs since I last synched it. I'm guessing that anything I deleted (an equal number of tracks and playlists) will not be on the iPod anymore, at least I hope that's the case.

I love that spot and that restaurant!
I have some photos (taken by our friend Bill when we saw a show at Goodspeed) of a trip there not all that long ago at this link on my blog:

-
Good evening.
-
Greetings from the rockin' and rollin' Tacoma
-
Some pretty big gusts from this storm.
-
Highest officially reported in Tacoma was 53 mph.
-
That one was about an hour ago.
-
There are no local newscasts at the moment so I don't know about the rest of the area.
-
So, I'm off to print programs, then I'm meeting my friend Margo to eat and visit, since we haven't seen each other in a while. I don't know if anything is happening tonight after the show, but we'll see. And who knows what will happen, weather-wise. :-\ Tomorrow is our one and only matinee, then we're done until Friday...no Thursday performance.
Be back later!
Well, I didn't have to print programs. Another board member got them printed, but he didn't print enough for tonight and tomorrow, so I'll have to get more tomorrow myself. Not a problem.
-
We're in the middle of the first act and it's going well. The house is filled :D but more than half are comps. :-\ But they're all enjoying it. :)
-
Of course, half the time I think I hear a gust rattling the windows, it turns out to just be the dancing hippos from upstairs.
-
One more post.
-
Page Six
-
Here in downtown Olympia, the weather is fine, barely windy or raining.
-
DR George I am pleased you had a good show. Vibes the weather doesn't interfere with the show tonight and that you have a good audience.
Thanks, Jane! So far, so good.
-
My friend Betzy dropped by today to make sure the things on my balcony were secured.
-
When she came in the door, she handed me back a copy of my book.
-
She said, "I love it! I really do."
-
She made corrections and suggestions about various things, which is exactly what I wanted her to do.
-
She managed to correct some of my grammatical errors. HA! Can you imagine me making grammar or spelling errors??
-
She also suggested (thank you, Bruce) that on my next pass I work on adding more color to my descriptions.
-
So, I am very relieved that I may be on the right path.
-
I will input her corrections tomorrow.
-
Many safety vibes to you, TCB!
-
And to the Northwest in general!
-
Thank you, Fred!
-

My dad LOVES Dave Brubeck. A few years ago, my sister and I bought tickets for our dad (and us) to see The Dave Brubeck Quintet at Jazz Alley in Seattle. My dad thought that he'd never get to see Bruback perform live. He LOVED the concert, which was wonderful. :D
-
Calling DR George
I should be able to if I'm on my computer. Can you e-mail them to me?
-
It is still too large. Shall I attempt to put it into our public photo bucket?
Yes, you should upload them to the HHW Photobucket site. :)
-
So, I am very relieved that I may be on the right path.
That's great!
-
Two of the authors are here tonight.
-
The play of one of them had some dropped lines tonight. :o
-
She was also here last night and I guess didn't love it. :-\
-
And we're done! Gotta shut things down and the I'm going home.
Until later!
-
DR Laura, after the performance next Saturday, did you want to meet Captain von Trapp? If so, IO will send him a message that you are coming to the show.
That would be swell, Elmore! But it will have to be a quick visit. That day is homecoming at the university and we'll need to get out of there because the place will be packed. (The theater is on the university grounds.)

Hmmm, I have no idea how windy it was here. Our condo was designed to keep noise out since we live near the airport and train tracks.

I love that spot and that restaurant!
I have some photos (taken by our friend Bill when we saw a show at Goodspeed) of a trip there not all that long ago at this link on my blog:

Nice photos.
Agreed! Very nice. :)

We're in the middle of the first act and it's going well. The house is filled :D but more than half are comps. :-\ But they're all enjoying it. :)
Excellent!
Thanks, Jane!

You might have to anyway, Jane. Tomorrow, I have to get some more programs printed and then drop off some stuff at my sister's before I go to the show. Then right afterward, I'm going to my parents' for some foodstuffs. And then I'll go home. So it'll be a long time before I would be able to get to it.

I meant I could send them to you. I will try again to post them.

AARRGGHH!! Well, tonight we found out the hard way that we have ants again in the theater! :o I didn't think about the traps that I put out a few months ago because no one complained about (or, I guess even noticed) them before. I threw away the old, filled traps :P and fortunately had several unused traps left over from the last time I bought them. Hopefully, this will be good enough for tomorrow, but should be helpful for next week.

Ahh. But thinking about it, I actually should be able to post them from my tablet. You could send them to me and whoever is able to get to them first can post them. :D

Right now, I'm at the Tumwater Subway. They're open 24 hours...fortunately...because the street where I live has no power! I didn't want to open my fridge for something cold to drink, and I mostly have frozen foods anyway, so I drove toward the city to see if power was on at other places. It is! There was no trouble downtown during the show, but the power is off down my whole street.
-
I only have 36% power left on my phone battery (I had 38% when I started posting) so I won't post much more, but I'll plug in my phone when I get home anyway, in case the power comes on during the night. I think my data for my phone still works there, but of course, not wi-fi. So, I've eaten and am going to refill my diet Coke (BK's favorite!), and read a chapter of my book on my Kindle before I leave and go home to a very dark house.
-
Have a good day tomorrow, everyone!

Well, tonight's storm veered 40 miles off of its projected course and changed from a record-setting storm into an also-ran.
-
But you should have heard the people interviewed on the news complaining because we didn't have more destruction.
-
I have power! It was on when I got home about 40 minutes ago, so it's all good.
And now, to bed!

But...

...before...

...I...

...go...

...to bed...

Gratuitous Post #200!

As for the Topic of the Day: I've never owned a Sinatra album. Never been a specific fan, either, but I don't dislike him.

Good night, George.
