Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both curious and missing, and now it is time for you to post until the curious missing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TITIVATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
TITIVATE, baby, TITIVATE!
-
SPARKLE, Neely, SPARKLE!

The scariest thing happened two days ago. I went to send Betzy the manuscript with the newest six chapters. But I couldn't find any updates newer than Septemer 29. I freaked out. I opened every single document that I had saved, regardless of the date or title. Nothing! Just when I was about to leap to my death, I decided to open Downloads and there it was. I have no idea why it was a download, instead of a document; but, at least, I found it.

Whew!!

You said it!

I am going to sleep now.

Good night!

Good night, Tom.

Vibes to Nicky for the results.

Are you allowed to say "titivate" on a family site?

Good morning to all

Good morning, all!

I have various and sundry tests for my doctor this morning at 8:20 so I will head out around 7:45.
-
When I return, I will look over my forms for my Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts meeting this afternoon and work on Guys & Dolls.
-
Last night I watched two more episodes of Thriller: the truly horrifying episodes stick in my mind, but I had forgotten there were so many poor to mediocre ones.
-
I heard from Joshie. The band rehearsal went well but he remarked that it will be a different sound once the orchestra leaves the lobby and actually gets into the orchestra pit and the sound man begins balancing the synths and musicians.
-
Doctor and lawyer vibes for Larry!

Good morning, all.

A fairly positive review of Freaky Friday in the Washington Post. Peter Marks says it's good but fairly pat. Well, it's from Disney and the plot isn't exactly new. I don't think that's what people going to see Freaky Friday are looking for.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/theater_dance/a-family-friendly-frolicking-freaky-friday-at-signature-theatre/2016/10/26/024d9c5a-9b31-11e6-b3c9-f662adaa0048_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-cards_hp-card-arts%3Ahomepage%2Fcard#comments

Interesting link, John G! Thanks for posting it.
-
Trying to decide whether to do a day trip to D.C. to see Freaky Friday, since it seems not to have any NYC plans. On the other hand, the Disney musicals seem to try out at the Paper Mill (just an hour away from NYC in Millburn, New Jersey) so I assume I'll have a chance to see it there over the next year or so.
Not an earth-shaking problem, I know! :)
-
Lab work finished and I am pondering breakfast.
-
Also, i see Daisy Eagan (who won the Tony when she was a child for Secret Garden) will be playing an adult role in Secret Garden at the Shakespeare Theatre in D.C., so that could be interesting.

Thursday.....
TOD: Various Viruses that shut my computer down, etc.....always scary. I finally learned NOT to click on everything that comes my way.

"Hey!"
(And that's all I have to say about that!)

Are you allowed to say "titivate" on a family site?
Yes, we won't be niggardly about it!

TOD:
That FBI Malware that required me to purchase something or other to get rid of it.
Instead, I reset the computer to its original default mode. It solved the problem, but my computer was never the same after that. I have since retired it.

Dissipating smells.
I'm all for this.
It means that once something that stinks has been removed...or has been allowed to set...
...the smells associated will dissipate...i.e. disappear...i.e., blend in to the surrounding's smells.
You can always cook something with garlic and onions to cover smells that don't dissipate.
But...then...you have to wait for the garlic/onion smells to dissipate.
That's when you can use a fan and leave doors and windows open. Only make sure skunks aren't lurking by.
Skunk smells don't dissipate very well.
-
A mini-exegesis on "dissipating smells" courtesy of me.
-
I have found that the new Febreze Air Freshener works suprisingly well in getting rid of odors, not just covering them up.

The final Act Two edits for Guys & Dolls are finished. I've now got about 90 minutes to kill with a look over my VLA forms and maybe some work on an irchestration.
This weekend I have that choral commission to write.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep. Why am I up? Because this house is literally shaking and has been since seven in the morning thanks to this teardown being torn down - I mean, like an earthquake shaking. I am now going out there to film and record this monstrosity. Since the huge machine that's doing this is currently in the yard of the monstrosity that was just built I think we know it's the same damn speculator. Good luck selling that thing NOW - no wonder they were trying so hard up till now - no one will buy while this crap is going on.
-
Boy did we get lucky with the weather. We had light rain Tuesday evening which was not a big deal. Yesterday was beautiful. I did not even need a sweater.until the evening. Today it is pouring.
-
We are on the road heading home.

This afternoon has been busier than I expected. After two and a half years of too little work, things are turning around. Whoda thunk it?
-
It's about time to head off to my appointment. Crosstown bus to Lexington Avenue and then a bus to 52nd Street.
-
My friend Carol in upstate New York has been the proud recipient of 3/4 inch snow today. She's not happy.
-
Here's Jake Gyllenhall singing Finishing the Hat. He's really good.

Hop and Ray for turnarounds.

Also, i see Daisy Eagan (who won the Tony when she was a child for Secret Garden) will be playing an adult role in Secret Garden at the Shakespeare Theatre in D.C., so that could be interesting.
I'd heard that she was playing Martha. That would be cool to see.
-
Back from some errands and whatnot and shortly I'll go pick up two packages.
-
Listening to a composer I don't know at all - a Lyrita CD I've had for fifteen years but obviously never played - William Mathias - beautiful English music.

Looks like that same Secret Garden production is planned for Seattle at the 5th Avenue Theatre in April 2017.

Hello, 1 guest!
I think from looking at the time of your post that that "1 guest" may have been me. I was checking in on today's posts from another computer.

What's your favorite way to eat duck?
Do those Peeps they make for Easter count? Or are they not ducks? :)

I always assumed that they're baby chicks.

We just had to make a pit stop, 40 minutes out of our way, to find out why's warning light went on. Something did not reset after the fluid was added on Tuesday.
-
You cannot even fathom what this bulldozer is doing and how noisy it is, not to mention the shaking and quaking of this house, so much so that several things in the Blu-ray closet fell off the shelves. I honestly don't know how much more I can take, frankly, and there are noise laws in this city and the police are in charge of dealing with it, and that includes invasive construction.
-
We needed those 40 minutes to beat the Portland rush hour traffic . Fingers crossed it won't be bad.
-
Thursday afternoon greetings! I got up very early to accompany Fr. Richard to the opening mass for the clergy conference because we'd been told that his "transfer of orders" to this denomination would be acknowledged during the service. It took 90 minutes and no acknowledgement. He stayed for the meetings and I called a taxi to take me downtown to the Library of Virginia where I spent several hours trying to expand my sister's genealogy research. I found some preliminary evidence on our great great great great great grandfather, but nothing that would count as proof of anything. I am now back at our hotel.
-
At least the rain has eased up.
-
Did Richard find out why he was not mentioned?
-
Keith wants to know where your ancestors are from.

Traffic vibes!!!

Thanks. The sun is shining making this art of the drive more pleasant.
-
Good afternoon. Today I gave a talk about gardening for butterflies to the ladies who lunch. I wanted to ask for a vodka stinger.
-
LOL

Paperwork.

Maybe you should have talked about gardening for bumble bees...if you wanted a stinger, that is! ;)
-
Good morning, afternoon, and evening, everyone.
-
I am here, in lovely Anderson Township, Beautiful SW Ohio, USA.
-
Keith wants to know where your ancestors are from.
Right where I am right now, more or less. Stephen Ellis, our 4th great-grandfather died in Goochland County, which we drove through yesterday (and will again tomorrow). He was born in Surry County, VA, closer to Jamestown, where we think it all began for our paternal line in the New World.

Welcome to greater Cincinnati, DR ChasSmith - even though we're not there! How long will you be there?

Just Friday and Saturday, DR Ginny. Got to get back home Sunday.

I think for some of these visits, when I don't have to make stops to see other relatives, I'm going to start flying over. I really love driving, but this one is l-o-n-g and not getting any shorter.

And we wouldn't know any of it without my sister's devoted research. She's done a fabulous job!

Off to Denver at the Country Club of Virginia. It better be good for how dressed up I had to get...

Define duck however you will.

DR Ginny have a nice evening
-
Traffic was not too bad. We are back in Washington and almost home. It is clean and 58 degrees
-
Listening to Randall Thompson's first symphony - the only version available, on Koch - of all those terrible recordings, this one is thankfully okay, and isn't distant miked.
-
Picked up some packages.
-
Waiting for Nick Redman to pay a visit.
-
Have been having daily telephonic conversations with Mr. Harvey Schmidt.
-
All this creativity and not a chuckle. I'm miffed.

What's this cruel world coming to?

I am home, wet but very pleased, from the visit with the lawyers. I think I am safe to go ahead with a project concerning intellectual property. I have to write a formal resignation from a job that terminated five years ago and post it via priority mail tomorrow.
-
When I got home, there were two phone calls to return: one was from my brother Randy and the other concerned the Big Announcement, which is nigh and the salary, which was astonishing and will definitely pay for my trip to Ohio in 2017.

Sounds exciting, DR elmore!
-
DR Ginny---coincidentally, I will be in Charlottesville Saturday for the wedding of the daughter of friends.
-
Resignation letter written. I'll post it tomorrow morning.
One door closes, another opens. Sometimes.

Had a nice visit with Nick Redman.

Oops, make that dinner at the Country Club of Virginia. We'd received several emails about the strict dress code, so I had to bring clothes, shoes, and accessories just for this evening. When I'm that dressed up I'd really like to be waited on. The dinner was a buffet and dessert was cookies and brownies. Not worth $50/each and wearing hose & heels, in my opinion.

Yikes! That's too bad, Ginny. You'd think they'd wait on you hand and foot!

Interesting regarding the formal resignation. I'm glad you are pleased with the lawyers.

Darn. I wouldn't mind a buffet if it was exceptional. There should have been fancy desserts.

It is pouring here too. And really cold.
-
My tablet has been wanting to update and I have been telling it "later" until we returned home. I noticed there is an option to update at night, which means it will do it automatically between 2:00am & 5:00am.
I can hear my scream now when it begins updating while I am reading my book ;)
Of course I did not click on that option.
-
DR Jennifer I appreciate the fact it hasn't gotten cold yet. I know it is coming.
-
Have been having daily telephonic conversations with Mr. Harvey Schmidt.
Very nice
-
Work and related vibes for Elmore.
-
My musical quote arrived in the mail today. BK, please thank Mr. Sherman for it. I got very quiet when I took it out of the envelope and just stared at it for the longest while. So many memories.
-
Made a couple of pies when I finally got home tonight. Something called Cherry-o-cream pies. One for work, one for a party tomorrow night.
-
One more work day and three more days until vacation.
-
I can hardly wait. I hope I survive the work day.
-
Instead of cleaning things off my desk, I worked two new requests in record time.
-
Watching a rather rickety bootleg of Aspects of Love. Well, the video is not great and largely faded to shades of brown, but the soundtrack is quite good.
-
The show makes a little more sense than from the mere cast album, but I don't know if that's better. Or not.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from a great dinner at Tony's Bella Vista - I guess I have to call this my splurge meal of the week - I ate way too much food, but from all I read to not do one big splurge meal a week is actually counterproductive.
-
Good evening!
-
Page 4? Really?
-
Exciting and positive news from DR elmore!
-
I can't wait for the big announcement!

Continued travel vibes to DR Chas!

Good afternoon. Today I gave a talk about gardening for butterflies to the ladies who lunch. I wanted to ask for a vodka stinger.
I want a You Tube video of DR Laura after she drinks a vodka stinger!
-
DR Jennifer, I miss the updates on your niece.
-
I didn't work on the book today, and I feel like I am going through withdrawal.
-
Packing and early travel vibes to DR John G.
-
Welcome home, DR Jane!
Thank you. Ithe is nice to be home.
-
I am sleepy.
'night
-
Tomorrow I am having lunch with a former co-worker.
-
She and I were part of a group that used to get together for breakfast every couple of months.
-
Almost all of those people have retired, several have passed away, and others have lost contact.
-
But June and I continue to get together.
-
Time to change computers and to get ready for bed.
-
I guess tomorrow I will reach a new millstone.
-
Or perhaps, very late tonight!
-
Greetings, 0 Guests!
