Well, you've read the notes, the notes marched to the tune of March, and now it is time for you to post until the March cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EXPONENT!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
-
If someone used to be your enemy, but now they are your friend; could you say they were your EXPONENT?
-
Hello.
-
'night
-
A woman of few words.
-
Good night, Jane.
-
If someone used to be your enemy, but now they are your friend; could you say they were your EXPONENT?
You're lucky there's no groaning allowed! ::)

Who me? 🙄
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom. I'm off to sleep, too.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I think this knee injection did some good. I slept rather well, but I had several New Yorkers nightmares and one doozy in which I sang and forgot the lyrics to "Another Hundred People" to Stephen Sonfheim and a stadium full of people. I blame none of this on the injection.
-
As to the Saturday pre-matinee lunch, I cannot join you. There will be a talkback after the matinee, and I may be involved. I will be wearing a suit and I am not taking the risk of showing up at the talkback with food on my shirt or coat. Also, the walk up to 56th Street is uphill and I won't walk it on a crowded Saturday afternoon. You'll have to wait after the performance for me.
-
DR TCB, how are you feeling today? I hope it's a steady recovery.
-
BK, did your chicken soup have lots of garlic?
-
Good morning, all.

That seems like a tough lyric to remember even not in front of a stadium full of people.

I am glAd that the injection seems to be working Elmore, hopefully this means more reztful.nightz, ahead
-
Health vibes to all but especially TCB and BK
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got in a teeny bit of extra sleep this morning, which was sorely needed.

I pretty much wouldn't have expected you to try joining beforehand, knowing how involved you are. Not a problem. We will see you afterwards. Oh yes we will. Yes indeedy.

I heard from my doctor about jury duty. she will write me a letter I can pick up at the office and mail to City Hall.
-
Whatever in the HELL my dream was (it's trying to punch its way through the walls but, I think, to no avail), it seems to have been a fairly kind and gentle one.
-
In my way to City Center today, I will stop at the Post Office and mail a package of CDs to the Cole Porter Trust.

I'm going to see the Metropolitan Opera's Rusalka at the local bijou tonight.
I've been remiss at attending these and the piece is totally unfamiliar (but interesting) to me, so this will be good.
-
Got the email this morning, and I'm half tempted to order Stage Door Records' POCHATONTAS - THE WEST END MUSICAL.
Could be fun. Anyway, thinking about it.

Is that the one with Anita Gillette? An old acquaintance from Catskill, Kermit Goell, wrote that. Been meaning to get a copy myself.

Having laptop issues. Not making working from home easier.

I saw Rusalka at Houston Grand Opera in 1990 or 91 when I was working on Babes in Toyland. It was the start of Renee Fleming's career, when she was good. I had known the opera for years because of the "Song to the Moon," and I figured any opera with such a glorious opera had to be great. It's a beautiful fairy tale, more based on LaMotte-Fouquet's Undine than Hans Christian Andersen, who I think took his tale of a fish out of water from the earlier Undine.
-
And it is time to depart.
-
Anita Gillette as Pocahontas? Who is John Smith, Sergio Franchi?
-
Continued healing vibes for MR BK.
Chicken soup sounds good - I may try some today.
We got LOTS of wind and rain last night here, but no tornadoes.....lots of news reports of trees down and trash cans blown over.......
-
We will need lots of photos of the HHW NYC gathering. Everyone take a camera!
-
Good morning.
-
A bright beautiful blue day outside!
-
On the 25th, I won't be able to join the group before the show, but please count me in for anything after the show. (assuming all is well, of course)
-
It's a bright, crisp morning in Oakland CA today.
-
I spent last evening reveling in the Blu ray of "The Boy Friend".
LOVE IT!

LOVE IT!
If all goes according to plan, I'll be watching it tomorrow evening projected on my friend's 128-inch screen.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! We've been up a while to get our showers before Shawn arrived at 9am to put the finishing touches on our bathroom floor. We think that's the last we'll see of the contractors and the work that still needs to be done in there is ours to do - Richard's painting and I'm decorating (towel bars, cupboard handles, rugs, towels, etc.).
-
DR Elmore, I would have been surprised if you had planned to join the pre-show brunch on the 25th. We'll look forward to seeing you at City Center. Also, Richard and I are in town until the 29th, so we'll save our Artie's visit until after the weekend.
-
Considering Rob's trips to the basement for laundry, Richard's 4am screaming leg cramp, and 2 thunderstorms, I slept pretty well last night. The dream I remember involved being incarcerated with a bunch of tough women like on "Orange is the New Black."
-
I dreamt of work. Yawn.
-
I think this knee injection did some good. I slept rather well,
😊
-
Great news about the injection working, Larry!

You're in good company, Larry...Liz Callaway totally goobered up the lyrics in THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGDw3-ltAJ8) YouTube video. :o

Oh, my! 128-inch screen?? Wow!! That's almost 13 11 feet!
-
I don't know if I would want a 128-inch screen. I certainly wouldn't want to be involved with the handling and trying to get it through the door.
-
Let's move on.
-
Three!
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of sleep. Trying to uncongest so I can answer some phone calls.
-
Good afternoon. That's all. The Monarch Scientist and I had Mexican food today -- my first since the surgery.
-
That 128-incher isn't a TV, in case that's what anyone's thinking. It's a home-built projection screen mounted from the ceiling.
That's 16x9, and he later built another one in the "scope" ratio that's wider still, that swings down over it for 2.35:1 up to 2.76:1 films (there are only a few of the latter). These fill the wall of what used to be the family room in a raised ranch. Seating is at a proper distance and the picture is magnificent.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is the size of your television set?
Mine is 42".

I bought my mom a 55" UHD set last summer. She refers to is as mine, but I've assured her it's hers.
I enjoyed watching TV on it this past Christmas. It is especially great for those 40s noirs....that Academy ratio image is nice and large on a 55-inch screen.

Mine is 55" also. I also still have my 27" CRT TV. :)

55" seems to be a popular TV size.

I'm envious.

I am home after a good work session with Joshie. We had plenty on our plates today, and I think we work well together. Tomorrow, I stay home and work on what I brought with me from City Center.
-
Mine's an itty bitty teeny weeny
polka 50" TV.
It's an astounding TV, one of the great Panasonic plasmas, but I totally blew it by not going for maximum size when I bought it. I didn't think so at the time, but that would have been perfect where it's sitting. Too late now. What will likely happen is that I'll someday fix the room up so I can do the same thing my friend is doing. I'd build the screen for a pittance as he did, with his guidance, leaving the projector as the single major expense. When you do this right, the projected image fills your field of vision the same as in a movie theater, and there's just nothing that comes close for a movie nut like the likes of me.
-
We went to our county seat - Hamilton - to pick up a certified copy of our marriage certificate. Then we went around the corner to Main Street Cafe for lunch and to Almond Sisters Bakery for some treats. On the way back we stopped at Home Depot for towel bars, cupboard handles, TP holder, and switchplate covers in shiny chrome to match the new shower fixtures. Then to Bed, Bath & Beyond for a paper towel holder that resembles the Corian shower walls. We also looked there for a chrome towel stand, but I had to come home and order that online:

Back from some chicken soup and a bagel.

Nice towel stand DR Ginny!

60" Ultra High Def. We purchased it to fit a wall in our, then, new condo.

My previous (which was also my very first) HD TV was also a 50" Panasonic plasma. It was a display model and I got a good deal (at the time) for it. It totally just crapped out on me a couple of years ago, but I got some good years' use out of it. :)
-
Since everyone's mentioning the size of their TV, I'll join in. Mine is 42 inches. I also wish I had bought a larger one.
-
DR vixmom: I'm going to The New Yorkers and would like to join everyone for brunch, please.
-
DR elmore--do you have any idea of approximately what time the show and talkback will be over?
-
Nice rack DR GINNY!
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....please insert "towel" between "nice" and "rack" in previous post. Thank you.
-

Performance at 2:00, so I'd guess talkback will be finished by 5:15; the cast has to break for the evening performance.
-
I will probably go to 55" when this tv goes out. I don't think I could go much larger because there is only so far I can get from the screen in my current TV VIEWING situation.
-

You'd think spell-check would have caught that.
-
KevinH- Are you familiar with a theatre called Toby's Theatre in the Baltimore area?
-
I've got a 40-inch TV. Yes, the next will be larger, but I hope that won't be for years.
-
Ginny, nice towel rack.
-
Let's move on.
-
Four!
-
Packaging has gone where it needs to go and hoping we can announce this on Friday.

The larger tv helps with reading the subtitles, still they can be a struggle at times.

The average rainfall in February is 4.5". This year, so far recorded it is over 10". We are waiting for the final count to see if we have broken a record.

HDMI cables don't support closed captioning from TV broadcasts. I never understood (or searched to find out) why it doesn't.
-
Nice rack DR GINNY!
>:(
You've got the wrong girl, DR JRand!
-
Three weeks from tonight, we'll be in New York City!
-
Page four? Really?
-
Fighting away.

I am glad we don't have HDMI cables ;)
Acorn tv provided closed caption which is often out of sync. Last night we watched MISS FISCHER and I was delighted the captions were in sync.
-
If I am lucky I will crash early tonight as I have an early tomorrow.
-
DR vixmom: I'm going to The New Yorkers and would like to join everyone for brunch, please.
Yay!! That makes six! FJL if your plans change please let me know and I will adjust the reservation to 7
-
How is Richard Sherman doing? Getting better, I hope.
-
48 inch Sony
-
Back from Rusalka, which was wonderful.
-
One of the studios had a Waltz Under the Stars program in the park tonight.
-
It was fun, but I found myself having to do the follower's part, which I've been learning, except with Joy as the leader. Dancing with strange men in a park is not how I had pictured how I would spend my evening.
-
Still, the instructor complimented my ability to follow and to figure out how to make the leader do better.
-
Listening to The Brain from Planet X now. Hadn't played this in a while.
-
Hello, 2 guests!
-
Good night, all.

So many responses running through my mind....all of which have been deleted... Glad you had fun!!
-
People it's almost 1 am tomorrow and I have to go to bed
-
How many to page 5?
-
Went to a very lovely and moving Ash Wednesday service at my church tonight
-
I realized that between vacation, illness and furniture moving I have not been to church in 5 weeks
-
I was greeted with hugs and welcome homes which was nice
-
Finished with my viewing. Heard some of Cindy's audio book stuff - really fun - but we have to redo some stuff, especially the last of her stuff, as she was clearly tired after five hours straight - otherwise just a few misinterpretations that need to be clarified, same with the lead guy.
-
Watching Shirley McLain on James Corbin, some young actress (who I do not recognize) just gave a little speech to Shirly thanking her for being a trail blazer and expressing her admiration for Ms McLain....to which Shirley replied , " Are those your real eyelashes?"
-

When d you think the book and the audiobook will be available for delivery?

Apparently the young woman is Hauden Panittierre ... Still no clue who she is
-
But I have located page five
-
My work here is done

Good question DR Kerry, and how are you doing?

Hayden (I am guessing that was a typo). I only know her from HEROES which we watched for a short time.

Book itself maybe three weeks presuming I get the galley approved - hoping for Friday or Monday on that - from there it all moves pretty swiftly.
-
DR John it sounds like a fun evening.
-
Audio book will be after that - a lot of editing to do, and then I actually have to figure out how to get it on Amazon and iTunes for purchase.
-
We watched the first two episodes of VICTORIA.
-
I am glad I now have a Kindle app through Amazon.
-
Good evening!
-
DR TCB, how are you feeling today? I hope it's a steady recovery.
I am feeling better every day. Thanks, Larry.
-
Health vibes to all but especially TCB and BK
Thank you, Vixmom.
-
Elmore, I am glad the injection seems to be helping you.
-
Sleepy day (and evening) here in Tacoma.
-
I did have lunch with my friend, Betzy.
-
I guess you would call it brunch since we both ordered breakfast.
-
Greetings, 1 Guest!

She is also on NASHVILLE.

I am glad I now have a Kindle app through Amazon.
Today, I just downloaded for the first time the Nook app for my tablet. A co-worker told me about www.bookbub.com where they list free or discounted e-book offers from places like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Kobo, etc.!
-
You don't even have to create a login to Bookbub. I just scrolled down to the free & discounted ebooks (https://www.bookbub.com/ebook-deals/free-ebooks) link a little way down, and then when the NEVER MISS A DEAL! box came up, I just clicked the little x in the corner and got in.
-
At the top, you get this message:
