Well, you've read the notes, the notes were good and written on a Friday, and now it is time for you to post until the good cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DESIDERATUM!
-
First post after BK!
-
The adjudactors were very nice, but they kind of had to be or the audience would have turned on them; but their comments just didn't seem to ring true.
-
The adjudactors went wild over the final show of the evening, which I thought was horrible. The acting was very good, at least the man in the show was superb, but the play was kind of a mess for me.
-
Had I been able to read a program before I saw it, it would have helped me. The piece was a cutting from the second act of a play, and the program gave you a little background of what we missed.
-
Coming into it cold, I was totally lost.
-
The play is called BRILLIANT TRACES. It debuted at Circle in the Square.
-
Tomorrow our big competition is the first act of THE ADDAMS FAMILY.
-
It is the entry from our host theater, and they just recently did the show and kept the original cast.
-
Oh well, regardless of what happens, I know we nailed our performance.
-
And who wants to go to Idaho at the end of March?
-
No guests this morning.
-
No George this morning.
-
I need to wind down or I will never fall asleep.
-
No George this morning.
I'm here...finally!
-
Several of us went to McMenamins Spar Café after the show and chatted and ate and had a fun time.

We had a great show last night! We were sold out and actually had a couple who didn't buy tickets online in time, but another couple who did, agreed to come tonight and give up their seats.

Yup, but with only four of the five actresses. Our director also came, but our stage manager went home.
-
Tonight, we are completely sold out! We'll probably have some (attempted) walk-up. We can start a wait list, but we only have 37 seats. This happens too often.

Today is going to be a day. I need to go to work for a liitle bit and finish some stuff. That shouldn't take long at all. Then, I'm going the movies to see the filmed live stage production of Newsies. I really want to see this. :D
-
After that, I'll get something to eat, then go to the last performance of Playhouse Creatures!
-
There's no strike tonight. People just need to take home their own stuff, and the next show that TAO is doing (1984) will be using the little stage that was built for us. Very easy. ;D
-
Sounds like a full day.

Sounds like a full day.
It will be.

Good morning.

On today's agenda is a hike with the church folk. Their hikes are usually a disaster. We'll see if things change. It's a place I'd like to go to, but I can't really drive there by myself. I don't like driving rough dirt roads. Hopefully I will have some nice wildflower photos tonight.
-
Glad to hear about George's sold-out house last night!
-
Good morning to all
-
So glad TCB's show got such a great audience response!
-
Surprised to hear BK's book recording person didn't know how to pause and rewind (is it possible? am I getting that right?)
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was too chiily this morning, I had no desire to drag myself out of bed where I was buried under blankets. Around 8:15 ny guilt about getting to work on my chart took over.
-
I remember only one dream: losing goddaughter Charlotte in a department store.
-
DR TCB, I am really happy your show went so wwll.
-
DR George, good news on selling out!
-
At some point today I will talk to Joshie. I hope he had a good birthday yesterday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
George, great news on the sell outs.
TCB, I'm glad both the audience and you thought you'd nailed it.
-
Congrats to DR TCB on his show - hopefully Awards will be forthcoming.
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his SOLD OUT closing night.
-
Vibes for DR LAURA that her hike is good.
Continued fighting the fight health vibes for MR BK.

There's quite a few good Spielberg movies I've never seen like Saving Private Ryan or Lincoln, so I don't know if they'd be on my list or not. I liked "Batteries Not Included" better than most people did. "Always" was cute too.
-
Good morning!

Thanks for all your congratulations on last night's performance.

I spoke to Joshie. He's working on one of his two scores - he's still waiting for the arrangement of the other - and I was happy to hear he was taken out for dinner last night. Last year, we all celebrated at some restaurant on Tenth Avenue around 46th Street, as I recall.
-
I'm up, I'm up - was up at eight-thirty thanks to hammering and yammering but fell back asleep around nine - so I got just around ten hours of sleep.
-
I've finished the song, and now I have the Big Dance to work on/
-
Oh well, regardless of what happens, I know we nailed our performance.
That is what matter most and I am happy for you.

I hope DR Laura is having a very enjoyable hike today.
-
The rain is coming down steadily here. Seems like it's supposed to continue into the evening.
-
I actually cleaned up a little, though you wouldn't know it now. I decided to tackle a box of stuff that I just threw things into. I now have stacks of various things, like magazines and notebooks separated from the majority, which is going into the trash.
-
But i think a nap is called for.
-
I feel sniffly today after finally getting over my two week cold. The weather is just too up and down. It does from +7C to -20C and back. I am sick of the cold weather!

I think this is a US thing. I don't get why if I use .com that I can't get the emails too.
-
Back from some chicken soup and a bagel. Now I relax until the stumble-through.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Bruce, could you not purchase several bowls of chicken soup to go, then freeze it? That way, you wouldn't have to go into a restaurant when people are sneezing and coughing, since many people don't stay home when they're sick.
-
Congrats to TCB and company on their stellar performance!
-
Congrats, too, to DR George and his theatre group.

Kudos to you. I need to do much more of this. It piles up so QUICKLY!
We have a LA election coming up and I think I filled one large trash bag with just the campaign ads. It's been voluminous.

I'd like to know more about making an audio tape. It's done in a recording studio? Cindy's script had only her lines? this will be sold on a CD? I doubt that anyone uses tape anymore, although we often still call it that.
Bruce, can you fill me in?
-
I've been doing laundry and cleaning. More to do.

This person has a little studio in his house. They read from the book itself (on a PDF). Not on CD. Streaming and download.

Do you receive other emails from them? Can you change the settings on the site? It may be a setting thing.

If he has a studio, he really should know how to pause and such.
It's amazing how many LA homes have recording studios in them. Maybe he bought a house with one and felt he had a new career!
-
Good nap.
Can you sleep on demand?
-
Thanks, Bruce.
-
Need to do one or two more things before I can call it a day.
TTFN.

Good nap.
Can you sleep on demand?
no. i wish i could.

I guess this Moonshine & Mistletoe recording will happen in three weeks. Oy!

Stumble-through in ninety minutes.

Good news, Elmore.

I'm ushering for violinist Gil Shaham tonight. No idea what's on the program.

Darn, sorry about that. I have purchased a few books I have been alerted to. One book came from the author instead of Goodreads as I am on her facebook page. I only buy books I can't get from the library.
Do you receive notifications of books by authors you like or when a book has been released that you have marked to read?

Good evening. It was a nice hike.

I came looking for your photos. Your desert hike is beautiful.

Thanks, Jane.

Had a really fun stumble-through - Rupert had to come late, but he more than half the show and then did his numbers. So much fun, such great songs, and such a great cast. Really looking forward to tomorrow night, even though Hayley Mills cancelled.
-
Had some rice, having some low-cal, low-fat ice cream and then will relax. Fighting the good fight with all my preventatives.

Well, the concert turned out quite wonderful, but Shaham wasn't the draw for this symphony fundraiser that they thought he would be.
The first half was a Dvorak overture and Beethoven's 8th symphony. The second feature Shaham and the symphony doing a Brahms' Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
-
it's still raining slightly. Thankfully, there's no wind. The ground seems to be soaking it all up. But I will likely need to get the grass mowed this week.
-
Picked up Pride & Prejudice & Zombies from the library today. Should be fun.
Also got Arrival.
-
But first, the last episode of Columbo.
-
Good night, all.

Good evening!

You are lucky there is no groaning on this site.
-
We met our match tonight.
-
THE ADDAMS FAMILY was wonderful
-
It is hard to compete against a musical with singing and dancing, plus a full chorus
-
They were at the top of their game.
-
And, of course, they had a home crowd to cheer and applaud and scream at every joke.
-
Their Gomez was superb, Morticia, not so much.
-
I got a lot of really nice comments from audience members who attended both nights.
-
Of course, this was all before the performance of ADDAMS FAMILY.
-
The awards ceremony tomorrow is a brunch, so it will probably be a buffet.
-
I do better with my scooter at a buffet, but we may have snow in the morning.
-
One more post.
