Title: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 76
Post by: bk on April 03, 2017, 01:05:55 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Kritzerlandian and Sterling, and now it is time for you to post until the 76 cows come home - they'll be playing 76 trombones as they do so.

But I mustn't get used to it.  Back at it tomorrow night and the next night.  And then again all day next Tuesday.

I just got news that a Good acquaintance, probably in his late 30s, died while camping over the weekend. Kevin was a free spirit who brought joy to just about everything he did. He was a movie fanatic, especially of low-budget and horror films. His mom is one of the best chefs in town and tried teaching him how to make her amazing Korean specialties, which he did at parties for his friends. He ran a burger joint that was in the wrong location and never developed an audience but served some of the best burgers I ever had. He was centered, gentle and seemed to welcome the world in his embrace.

RIP, Kevin.

Oh lordy -- someone at the auditions yesterday had brought in a bag of Werther's Original candies.  I hadn't had any of those in some years, and must have downed seven or eight of them.  I'd forgotten the double whammy of texture they give you, the outer shell and the creamy interior, and how the outer shell becomes chewy as it melts in your mouth.  Heavenly.

Caramels would be my favorite chewy candy, especially if they are coated in chocolate.  My favorite unless I could get Thornton's special toffee from England, mint over regular.

I rarely say no to salt water taffy, however, I am fussy about the flavor.

Most licorice is chewy.  I like black or red.

Is the DVD of the whole show?  Making an audio from a DVD is pretty easy...said the guy who could do this and who'd love to have his own copy of it either way. ::)

;)

You know if you need someone to hold on to an archival copy for safekeeping just as a backup ...

I never want to ask Rob about the stars, but I'm pretty sure he meant four stars.

Glad books have arrived so quickly - hoping folks will read soon and, if they enjoy, post a little review on Amazon, as they really help.  Jrand, we checked your tracking - package is in Indiana so I'm sure you'll have it tomorrow.

a bizarre DVD has come in to the library. It's a disc with both Man of La Mancha and The Fantasticks on it. Why would anyone pair those movies, other than they are both United Artists musicals?

Love this lead from Variety's review of Amelie:

The only thing remotely Parisian about “Amelie” is the use of a bilious shade of green reminiscent of the outdoor pissoirs one used to see all over Paris. Hardly the image to take away from this musical-theater adaptation of the quirky 2001 film that brought goofy grins to the faces of besotted movie fans.

A loverly review of last night's show: http://www.haineshisway.com/now-playing/

That's a great review of the show, BK.  But then I wonder why there are only three stars...I would think that the way he describes how good the show was and how much he liked it, there would be at least four stars, if not five.

Just a thought. :-\

I was wondering the same thing

Very nice review. And, yes, the rating doesn't seem to match the content.

I occasionally eat Weathers original, had one today, and I think of them as hard candies.  I have had the soft chewy ones but I never saw them until a few years ago.
