Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a neglected colon, and now it is time for you to post until the neglected cows come home.

It certainly sounds like it.  How are ticket sales going?

I have no idea.  They haven't said anything about that.  I would assume that we probably couldn't sell out because the theater where we're performing has, I think, 700 seats...assuming they don't block off any from being sold.

I was sleeping soundly until my cell phone rang at 4:00zm.  It was a text from my bank inquiring about the fact that my account was overdrawn. Well, I'm been hacked and my debit card stolen.

The omens for today being really lousy continue. I walked to my bank to deposit dome money into my overdrawn account before I was stuck with a $35.00 overdraft fee, only to find when I reached the bank that bot ATMs were down.  I called the bank at once to complain, and the nice lady on the phone said she would mark my account not to be charged.  Well, we'll see.

A couple of years ago I started keeping my cards in "RFID blocking" protector sleeves, and I very highly recommend everyone doing so now.  People will hack your card numbers and other info just by passing near you with their magic wands or whatever it is they use to detect that stuff.

https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Ideas-USA-Protection-Traveling/dp/B00YLEM0CM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499861900&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=rfid+sleeves+for+credit+cards&psc=1

Those are the inexpensive paper ones.  You can get whole wallets and such, now, to protect them, which is probably much better and easier to use.  (With the paper ones, there's an art to removing and reinserting the card quickly and efficiently that I haven't quite mastered.)

The new parody book, 21st Century Oldies, volume 4 is up on Amazon.  The book was already locked before the "Mr. Goldstone" story broke, so [for the moment] that lyric was a HHW exclusive.  :)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1548403733/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499862630&sr=8-1&keywords=21st+oldies+donald

I should be getting my stash of copies in a week or so.  If anyone on HHW wants a free copy, just PM me your address.

TOD:

My favorite classes in high school were Baking and Typing. My favorite classes in college were Criminal Justice and Behavior Disorders.

I chose UC-Irvine because it was the only university with a Dance department that claimed not to emphasize modern dance, and I had never taken a modern dance class. But while there, I completely fell in love with modern dance, over ballet or jazz.

I didn't care for high school. Time has softened that feeling only a little. I did enjoy learning foreign languages (Latin, Spanish, French and German) and freshman English was great because we read 50 or so novels, nonfiction and plays over the course of the year.

I spent two hours on the telephone this morning "signing up" for my retirement health care and prescription plans.  Both are through AARP.  Because I am moving out of state, my County health care plan (with Kaiser) is not transferrable.  The retirement association gave me a number to call to sign up with plans that will benefit me in Johnston SC.  They are giving me a generous monthly stipend to cover the costs.  My plans will use less than half of the stipend.  Of course, I'm in the early experimentation stages of the plan and it may be adjusted annually.  Happily, I also have VA, so I'm not too worried about things given the tenuous nature of health coverage issues today.

I am glad that was figured out.  Too often meds are a major contributor.   I hope this adjustment continues to show improvement.

Has anyone figured out a better system to make sure he takes his meds correctly?

Went through the classical CD closet lower shelf and got rid of a bunch of stuff and pulled a couple of things to listen to, i.e. the Tippett symphonies and the symphonies of Lilburn, which I remember enjoying - I may do the top shelf this evening.

Well, I need to go to sleep now so that I can get to rehearsal on time.  It'll be our final dress rehearsal, then we open on Thursday. :o

;D

Well, we got through our final tech rehearsal.  It wasn't technically perfect ( ;) ), but we got through it.  The show took about 2 hours and 20 minutes, including intermission.  Not bad.  Certainly, as we go through the short run, things will tighten up, but then audience applause will add a little time to balance it all out.

That's a small consolation.

Well, the food has yet to arrive (coming via ONTRAC and those idiots like to make the UPS Store their last visit, despite a package that is clearly marked FOOD and PERISHABLES.  This may be my one and only thing with these people unless they find a better way to ship or do morning delivery.  Because what these idiot drivers like to do is show up at the UPS Store one minute before it closes, which means the PERISHABLES package can't be retrieved until the following day.

I finished the set of Martinu piano concertos - those and the symphonies are all interesting and well worth investigating, especially from this conductor - the music really lives and breathes under his baton - one of the most lauded sets by Vaclav Neumann is the one I previously had and those performances in that sound are what turned me off to Martinu - thank goodness I took a chance on this other conductor - it's amazing what a difference a conductor can make.

I was going to move back to this Gunter Wand set of Bruckner but I want another day or two before I re-listen to those symphonies.  So, instead I've moved on to the symphonies of Carl Nielsen - I knew and know absolutely nothing of Nielsen's music - I may have heard something at some point but I certainly have no memory of it.  Well, after having heard his first symphony, I love this guy.  Beautiful music from a Danish composer.  Hoping I love the other five, too - but so far I'm really enjoying - on the second symphony now.  There are about eight complete sets, but I took a chance on the one everyone seemed to agree was one of the best (I mean, the professional reviewers) - Ole Schmidt.  Apparently these were released on a Unicorn LP in 1974 with bad sound.  Those came out on CD in sound that was just as bad, from what I've read.  The set has been remastered for this budget release (around fourteen bucks for three CDs) and while I don't know how it was before, it's pretty great now.  Looking forward to the rest - happily, Mr. Nielsen has brevity - each of the symphonies is only about thirty minutes unlike the Mahlers and Bruckners that clock in from an hour to over ninety minutes.

I'm so anxious to try my new dinners.  Choices - one for lunch, one for dinner, for the next three days, equals 1,000 calories a day, which is definitely weight loss territory for me.  My choices are: ziti with meatballs, steak peppercorn with sautéed carrots and asparagus, grilled chicken risotto, homestyle meatloaf, BBQ chicken with sweet potato mash and summer veggies, penne marinara with Eyetalian sausage.
