We watched SUSPECT with Cher and Dennis Quaid.

If you can accept the basic premise (i.e. juror Quaid helping defense attorney Cher prove her case), it's a pretty good movie.

T.O.D.

With apologies to BK's grandfather, fish is not my favorite meal...even though Abe Vigoda ("Fish" on BARNEY MILLER) was a publicity client and dear friend.

However, giving a thankful nod to Groucho and Chico Marx, I do enjoy swordfish.

The Family (or young audience) version, suitable for kids from 5 to 95, as I like to say, should be published in the next month or so.  :)

Congrats to Jrand!

You make it look easy, yet I doubt that it is. How are you holding up?

Druxy - have I mentioned:  our very own BK played "Grig" in the 2006 New York Musical Festival (NYMF) presentation.

Unfortunately, I've never seen the musical.  Nor, do I believe, have I ever heard the score.

Druxy - Assuming BK doesn't mind my giving away the CD, I could email you the tracks if you want.  (if you PM me your email address)

All the liner notes, etc, are on the site of the cast recording's label - Kritzerland, of course!

I only had 7 spots sprayed off of me at the dermatologist.  I have 2 spots we are watching carefully.  I am happy to say I didn't have any biopsies this time.

Good news!

TOD:
I didn't grow up as a fish eater. Meat and potatoes. I started eating fish when I began doing a lot of business travel. Many of the small towns offered next to nothing in the way of vegetarian meals, so I knew I needed to learn to eat fish. Then, in San Diego, there was a strip mall next to the office building where I worked, and it had at least five restaurants, many quite good. There was a mom-and-pop fish restaurant called Catch of the Day, which was outstanding, and I soon became a regular. I used to joke that I kept my job at Computer Sciences Corp because of Catch of the Day. It was largely true.

Sadly, the owner divorced and Catch of the Day closed.

These days I like salmon very much, as well as sole and sea bass. I don't cook fish at home, though. It really needs to be fresh--caught, purchased, and cooked promptly. I prefer to go out for it.

I like fish and chips, but long for the day when restaurants convert to air fryers.

John O'Groats, where Rebozo's used to be and BK and I ate once, serves good fish and chips.

There used to be a little restaurant on King St in Alexandria, VA, that was an authentic (for VA) Irish fish & chips place. Can't recall the name of it, but DR Kevin might. I used to go there a lot.

Thanks DR Jeanne.

Keith likes Fish and Chips.  I am not sure I could go inside the Rebozo's location, the place simply meant too much to me.

I don't cook fish at home.  When we are out and tofu is not an option, which of course it usually isn't, I will order Salmon.  I like lemon or Dover Sole, however, I rarely see sole anymore unless it is stuffed with shellfish :P

Once, in London, I ordered fish, assuming it was filleted. It wasn't. It still had the head and tails. Ugh! I asked the server if she could remove them. Yes. Much better. Rather off-putting, I find.

Not looking forward to the 16-hour drive with the bird, but JB likes the folks.

At least there is an award at the end of the trip for JB.  I must have missed the part about your return visit.  Is this just a regular visit to check up on things or will you be getting their place ready to sell?

Maybe setting up home health care.

Have you asked to have it just grilled or sauted, without the filling? They should be able to do that, especially since so many people are allergic to shellfish.

I think my favorite is salt-baked fish served with a homemade mayonnaise on the side.

The presentation in Spain was glorious. Two men carried out the fish on a big slab. One used a hammer and chisel to break away the crust. They made it seem overwhelming. It was actually easy to make.

I feel the same way.  On our last trip the waiter filleted at the table with great pomp.  I was trying not to watch but I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

I like most any kind of fish. Salmon, steelhead trout, sole, halibut, flounder--just give it to me. Lately, skate and monkfish are favorites. You don't need to do anything fancy, but I do like butter on top.

For years, I never had anything beyond the Friday fish sticks at school.  In my adult life I've grown to love quite a bit of seafood.  My problem is that I don't think to have it nearly as frequently as I'd like.

My dad had a boat from the tine I was 10. He got out of work at 4:3o and his job was only 2 miles  from home. By 5:30 he was on the water with one of more of the kids along.

We would crab, dig for clams, fish and bring the results home for dinner

Finished with my viewing.  Now playing: Carl Nielsen - classic performances in mono - I love his music, which I just became acquainted with and love the performance in stereo I've heard, but these mono performances were the first of these works and are wonderful and the sound is pretty damn good.

Sigh, tonight I broke a molar while eating good popcorn.  I fear I am going to lose the tooth.  Whatsoever happens it is going to be expensive and painful.  At least it doesn't hurt yet.

I will be calling the dentist when the office opens at 8:00 tomorrow.   I hope he is a very skilled dentist.
