Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written in the room where it happens, and now it is time for you to post until the happening cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MELLIFLUOUS!
-
First post after BK! (to quote TCB)
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all
-
Fascinating BK notes on his take on HAMILTON.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Fascinating BK notes on his take on HAMILTON.
Yes, they were. I enjoy listening to the score, but I doubt if I have the patience for three hours of it in the theater.
-
Good morning from Fun City!
-
I arrived yesterday morning, dropped my luggage off at the hotel, walked to Penn Station and took the New Jersey Transit train to Millburn. I walked from the station to the PaperMill Playhouse, where I saw The Honeymooners musical.
-
I enjoyed the show very much. If you like the TV show, I think you'd like this too. The cast was great. Kritzerland inspiration Leslie Kritzer plays Alice, Michael McGrath plays, Ralph, Michael Mastro is Ed, Laura Bell Bundy is Trixie.
-
Additional cast members include Lewis Cleale and Lewis J. Stadlen.
-
The leads do great jobs reminding you of the originals (except for Trixie, who has a much bigger role here than in the TV show). I had never heard of Michael Mastro. I'm a fan now.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I enjoyed the HAMILTON report, and I remain completely apathetic about the show.
-
I am sorry to hear about your friend's brother's death, DR TCB.
-
Last night I bit the bullet and took two Advil before I went to bed. I figured that since I was seeing no bad effects from the colonoscopy, I could try it. I slept very well.
Finally.
-
Nice kitty photos from DR elmore and DR George!
-
I also enjoyed the Hamilton report, BK. I enjoyed the show a lot and was lucky to see it with the original cast. Having said that, I'm not in a hurry to see it again.
-
Annabelle behaved very well last night until some time around 3:00AM. She must have gone climbing because she suddenly landed next to me on the mattress and scared the hell out of me.
-
I heard on CBS This Morning a bit of Linn Manuel Miranda's new song for Puerto Rico. My only impression is, where's Miranda? I only hear Bernstein. I'm curious to see if he actually does something with "Maria" or what.
-
Great HAMILTON report from MR BK. I have listened to a bit of the OBC, but I think I need to see it to really appreciate the noise....er....I mean score.
I am glad to have a new expression to use courtesy of DR JOHN G:
The cat's nuts....
And thanks to DR KEVIN H for the HONEYMOONERS report....there's a lot of good material there....but I would think it would be hard to not just be an imitation. And if you stray too far from the original source....it ain't the HONEYMOONERS....a narrow path to tread.
-
DR JEANNE I do not think I am even considering a new pet at this time....we shall see....it's still a bit soon for me....I still expect to see my baby doll at the foot of the bed or at the door when I come in....
-
Loving the kitty pictures, though!
-
yes DR ELMORE you look very good in that color!
-
Good morning.
-
I have tickets to Hamilton. I am less than thrilled at how they really bumped up the price of my season ticket package. I hate rap, so I imagine I will sit for three hours with earplugs wishing I could be out of there.
-
Yesterday when I was hiking, someone had a radio playing rap.
-
And now I must drag this old body of mine out to the woods, where the Monarch Scientist and I are going to look for monarchs.
-
Annabelle has become fixated on the picture window. She seems to like watching the events on the street.
-
We are discovering that of the food choices I am offering her from Fancy Feast, she likes beef, chicken and turkey bits the best. The seafood is crashing and burning. She refused to deal with the tuna, wailing until I offered something else, and today she said no to cod and shrimp.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
T.O.D.
I just got a review copy of the Criterion release of Orson Welles' OTHELLO, so I'll probably watch that.
-
Want a signed, free copy of my new novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE?
Then, go to Goodreads and sign up for the "raffle". You might just win.
https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/257626
Or, if you're not into raffles, you can purchase JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE on Amazon, where it's available in paperback, on Kindle, or as an audio download, brilliantly read by the very talented Fred Frees.

Am I the only person in the USA who is not interested in seeing HAMILTON?
I am not a fan of Rap music.
I heard the entire score of HAMILTON when it was first released, and it did nothing for me.
Maybe when the movie comes out...
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sorry to hear about the racket going on in Amoeba. A BK Amoeba report would have been most welcome.
-
I still picture the interior of the Pantages as the movie palace it was in the 1970s.
Ah well...
-
I think it's time for a kitty picture.
Don't you?
This is little Poe when just a few months old, and my girl Taffy at about age twelve.
Woops, it's very tiny. I think you can click to enlarge.
-
I need to scan a couple of the North Shore era ones. More later.
-
Is Annabelle's name an homage to Poe's name that I somehow skipped over?
-
That's a good question.
Our Poe is most definitely an homage.
-
So, here's little Muffin, and her sister Taffy, upon arriving home from North Shore Animal League in late November 1990 at an estimated six weeks old. They're still wearing their NSAL tags, where they'd been temporarily nicknamed Peanut Butter and Jelly.
-
If these aren't visible to those not logged in, sorry about that, but I've been finding Photobucket abominably difficult and time consuming to deal with lately, and adding these as attachments is just easier. I'll try to do better.
-
Just saw that Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom has re-released BK’s recording of You Never Know.
-
Just had a nice bowl of ramen for lunch.
-
Fascinating BK notes on his take on HAMILTON.
Yes, they were. I enjoy listening to the score, but I doubt if I have the patience for three hours of it in the theater.
Ditto. But I did enjoy this video of the Hamilton cast and their Opening Number Homage to Sweeney Todd (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bruTOQoNtO4).
:D
-
I really enjoyed reading BK's opinions/impressions of Hamilton. I've only listened to the CD once or twice. I probably should at least try it again.
-
Nice kitty photos from DR elmore and DR George!
Thanks, Kevin!
-

Ahh...one of the many "joys" of cat parenting.
;)
-
Just saw that Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom has re-released BK’s recording of You Never Know.
When you click on the links on Sh-K-Boom's website (http://www.sh-k-boom.com/cole-porter-you-never-know), it only takes you to places to purchase downloadable MP3s. They didn't reissue the physical CD. :P
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Still on the hunt again for a boy - the one we cast has a "manager" who doesn't want him to do the show because he's been going up for big parts (not getting them, mind you) - well, okay then.
-
The You Never Know thing is what it was. I've been advising the director of the show on this for two years on how to get this back. He decided it was more worth his while to go with Ghostlight because they're distributed by WEA now. Of course, one could take the position that with digital sales it matters not who distributes - we had a little volley of e-mails, but it's his to do with as he pleases.
-
My only temptation to go back to Hamilton, which I'd only do if it were free and I was sitting in a similar seat, would be to hear the audience reaction at the top and during the pre-show - just to hear if it was exactly the same as last night's. It sounded so canned to me.
-
As to the rap in Hamilton - I hate rap, but here it's used as the storytelling device and at least it has actual music behind it.
-
DR George I strongly urge you to keep Neve as an indoor cat, especially the first 3 months. It is after moves that people often lose their cats.
-
DR TCB, I am glad you didn't miss the service. My condolences to you and your friend.
-
DR George I strongly urge you to keep Neve as an indoor cat, especially the first 3 months. It is after moves that people often lose their cats.
That's what I was planning. I could let her out into my little backyard because it's totally enclosed and has high fences. She's 14 years old, so she's too old to jump or climb up anything.
-

Yes. I would sit out there at first and read.
-
Annabelle behaved very well last night until some time around 3:00AM. She must have gone climbing because she suddenly landed next to me on the mattress and scared the hell out of me.
Another great joy of having a cat ;D
Just be grateful it wasn't a fur ball. I hate that in the middle of the night.
-
I am home from a lovely lunch with our DR KevinH and his friend Paul at the French Roast.
-

So adorable!
-
DR FJL, there was no Poe reference to "Annabelle Lee" in her name. The MACC gave her the name Annabelle when they checked her in on Sept. 19. It seems perfectly right for her, so I am not changing it. She's much more the 1927 song "Miss Annabelle Lee" than she is a Poe character.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! We have relocated to Grand Blanc, MI, and are settling into a hotel around the corner from my sister's. She'll pick us up in about half an hour for the Friday fish fry at their golf course.
-
It's Friday in Johnston SC, as well.
-
Had lunch at Park Row No. 1 in downtown Edgefield SC.
I had the barbecue sandwich which I was led to believe would be absolutely fantastic. The side of potato salad was very good, but the barbecue wasn't anything special in the taste department. Not wanting to be negative about it, I didn't tell anyone with whom I was dining that it seemed a bit tasteless. When I did later say something, however, they expressed surprise that I didn't use the sauce that was supposed to be with it. No sauce was with it. Why didn't I ask for some, they asked. I replied that I figured the sandwich came with everything I was supposed to get with it. Why must I "ASK" for sauce? Why was it not included in my plate?
Oh, well.
-
I went with my mom to get a flu shot this afternoon at her doctor's office. It was to be my first Medicare/United Health Care experience.
My mom got her shot but they require me to have an appointment with the doctor to establish myself. Happily I brought a flash drive containing my medical history with Kaiser Permanente which I gave to the nurse for the doctor's perusal. I have an appointment Oct. 20 at 11:15 a.m.
-
I don't know whether this was true in Oakland or not, but my fingernails seem to grow rather fast. I trimmed them less than a week ago and they need trimming again.
-
Funny, but I don't recall clipping my nails but once every couple of weeks before moving here. Could it be the water? Or could it be that constant typing on a computer as I did at work kept my nails shorter?
-
All right. Stop laughin. It WAS a dumb question.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Muffin and Taffy and Poe are adorable.
-
You’re right, Ron. If sauce is supposed to be used, it should be served with the sandwich. As one who doesn’t like bbq sauce, I doubt I’d have liked it.
-

I think you’ve nailed it. (No groaning here at HHW.)
-
Lunch at the french Roast!
-
Nice picture!
-
Nice kitty pictures for DR CHAS SMITH and a nice photo of a couple of cool cats from DR ELMORE and DR KEVIN H.
-
As is par for the course, I am sleeping a lot today.
As I reported last week, I am getting ready to perform a wedding for my brother Kent - his 4th - who was divorced last month. Today my brother Dane came by and announced that he and his wife Kathy are being divorced....so there you are....some great totals for in laws:
Mike - one wife
Paula - one husband
Myrna - three husbands
Dane - two wives (probably a third in the wings)
Kent - soon to be four wives
David - one wife
Molly - two husbands
And I ain't even had one! Seven brothers and sisters and 14 in-laws.

I was never in Grand Blanc. I skied at Mt Holly which isn't too far from there.

At the least they should have asked you if you wanted the sauce.

;D Maybe. There are many reasons and this may be short lived.

Lunch at the french Roast!
I was hoping for a photo, and a nice one it is :)

Tonight we will watch two episode of "The 100" which then will leave us with only the last two episodes of season 4 to watch another night.
-
I enjoyed reading about BK's experience at Hamilton. I am so jealous!
-
I have a friend going to NY who will have time to see only one show. She didn't mention Hamilton, was thinking she might like to see Wicked. I loved Wicked.
Is the current cast of Wicked good? Does anyone recommend another show for her?
-
It's perfect Fish Fry weather.....I always like to drive to the theater in the summer and go through the small towns when the local firefighters are having their Fish Fry Dinners.....sometimes I stop.
DR RLP - you may have hit the nail on the head about typing and ... nails...
-
My local WalMart had FatBurger Patties on sale...so I bought a box...and they are in fact very good....and thin enough that they cook quickly. I think I will buy some more. Of course they were on sale.....and they won't be next time....so we shall see....
-
They're the cat's nuts.

Lunch at the french Roast!
Great photo.

Maybe it's one of those averages where you toss out the top and bottom numbers?
-
Back from Sami's, then picking up one small package, having a Subway spicy Eyetalian sandwich, and catching up here. Wrote the blurb for Monday's announcement but have seen no packaging. Later tonight I'll take the libretto for scanning to Kinko's and get that done - it will be available as a non-downloadable link on the Kritzerland site, for those who like to follow along, although you really can understand everything.
-
Really could use another Amazon review of Rachmaninov.
-
Well I arrive at the office today at 8:59 took a 1/2 hour lunch and left at 6:02
-
And my desk was clean
-
Then I went to have my hairs cut and coifed
-
Dinner tonight was pizza with Canadian bacon, pineapple and mushrooms. And buffalo wings
-
Tomorrow we leave for Alexandria
-
Sunday night we see A Little Night Music

Nice. I hope it's good!

A lot of times, I like to read the lyrics while listening to musicals and opera recordings. It helps reinforce the story and keeps me from losing track...usually. ;)
-
Tomorrow we leave for Alexandria
Have fun and safe travels.
-
I am going to catch the last of the sunset.
-

I was never in Grand Blanc. I skied at Mt Holly which isn't too far from there.
Our hotel is on Holly Road. On the way back from dinner I asked my sister if there was still a lot of skiing in Holly. She said, "When there's enough snow." Apparently winters here aren't like they used to be.
-
:o
-
Sunday night we see A Little Night Music
Nice. I hope it's good!
It's the same production that my Momand I saw in August. Mom and I saw it in previews, this was to be the final performance but it was extended a week
-
34,000 steps=14 miles. It was a beautiful day for walking, ending with a lovely sunset.
-
Back from (what else?) a show. It got the job done.
Got one tomorrow evening, then we're off till next Friday when Messrs. Jones and Shaheen grace us with their presence.
-

Seven brothers and sisters and 14 in-laws.
The genealogist's nightmare.
Or wet dream, depending on one's outlook. :)
-
These mentions of summer fish fries have me salivating, and I've never been to one in my life.
-
Last book sale o' the season tomorrow.
Sadly, very sadly, I missed two of my favorite ones this year. Totally failed to research them and get them on my calendar. But I shall enjoy tomorrow's, as it is only a couple of back road miles from my house, and I brought home a good supply of coffee and doughnuts to help get my arse in gear beforehand.
-
Have a relaxing and enjoyable trip to Alexandria and back, DR vixmom.
And enjoy the show! I certainly wish I could. Looking forward to a full report.
-
Back from a fun night of dancing. It's getting a little easier.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Started watching On the Riviera. It's a Danny Kaye I haven't seen.
-
Five!
-
Page five? Really?
-
Sami sat in the front balcony for Hamilton and she said the reaction all came from the cheap seats in back of her - so maybe that's it - maybe they're asked to do it or maybe they're just stupid or maybe it IS canned.
-
Gwen Verdon just appeared in the movie doing a Jack Cole number. Her dancing is far better than Danny Kaye's.
-
So I'm mentally packing for our little 3 day jaunt (I save the actual packing for themorning to try to avoid wrinkles as much aspossible) and there is one particular outfit I wanted to bring for Sunday
-
And then I realized I wore that outfit to work Tuesday
-
And it's in the hamper under a bunch of other stuff
-
Which is why at. 1:21 in the am I am doing laundry
-
1st world problems
::)
-
Back from a fun night of dancing. It's getting a little easier.
Reading this made me happy.
-
And then I realized I wore that outfit to work Tuesday
Next time put all your clothes out ahead of time ;D
-
There's a wonderful video of Alfred Drake singing songs from Oklahoma!, Kiss Me, Kate, Sing Out, Sweet Land and Kismet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCOblpkH8WE
It's more than 20 minutes of magnificent music.
-
I'd gladly give 20 Hamiltons for the chance to see Alfred Drake in any one of those shows. Or Kean. Or Babes in Arms.
-
And then I realized I wore that outfit to work Tuesday
Next time put all your clothes out ahead of time ;D
I refer you to my earlier posts throughout the week concerning my work hours this week
-
Well it's 2:15 the 1st load is in the dryer or hanging up to drip dry as required and the second load is in the washer and this gal us going to sleep
-
Good evening!
-
Safe travel vibes to Vixmom and Vixdad.
-
Great cat photos posted today.
-
Nice photo of Larry and Kevin.
-
Kevin, have a good time in the Big Apple.
-
But stay away from any outdoor concerts.
-
I watched the 20 / 20 special on the massacre in Las Vegas.
-
It was very moving, but very scary.
-
Tomorrow we are supposed to have some rain.
-
Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the day.
-
And then I realized I wore that outfit to work Tuesday
Next time put all your clothes out ahead of time ;D
I refer you to my earlier posts throughout the week concerning my work hours this week
I have learned to put them out whenever, even weeks ahead. I know your schedule is crazy.
-
Today I had lunch with friend Sharry.
-
I got to hear all about their trip last week to Ashland to see Jason Graae and Faith Prince.
-
Then the next day they drove Jason and Faith up to Washington.
-

14 miles? Was this all in one day?? :o

I don't usually travel that far in my car on one day.

Me, either!
-
Oh I forgot that John Boswell was also part of Sharry and Micheal's road trip to Tacoma.
-
I got to hear all about their trip last week to Ashland to see Jason Graae and Faith Prince.
That's so cool!
-
Then the next day they drove Jason and Faith up to Washington.
How'd they get to do that? :D
-
Oh I forgot that John Boswell was also part of Sharry and Micheal's road trip to Tacoma.
Was this all planned, or a spur of the moment trip?
-
Sharry and Micheal are friends of Jason.
-
Jason and Faith came to Tacoma to perform their show at the Rialto Theater in Tacoma.
-
John is their accompanist.
-
That's so cool!
-
Tomorrow we are supposed to have some rain.
It's been raining here in Tumwater for quite a while, now.
-
It is raining in Tacoma, also; but I wasn't worried about it until tomorrow.
-
I just want the rain to be gone for Sunday and Monday.
-
I just want the rain to be gone for Sunday and Monday.
Is something special happening?
-
Or do you just not want the rain?
-
Sunday I am going to a birthday party, so I would rather it be dry.
-
And Monday I have to go to my doctor in Puyallup.
-
Good reasons to not want rain.
-
~~~Vibes for No Rain on Monday for TCB!!~~~
-
:D
-
~~~Vibes for No Rain on Monday for TCB!!~~~
Thank you.
-
Back from late-night snack. Notes to be written.
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well...
-
...since...
-
...we're so close to the end, let's just go ahead and get to page...
-
7!!
-
Well, I hate to do it, but I need to go to bed now. My sister and niece are coming over to help me start to clean my house for Neve's arrival, and they're getting here earlier than I want...but my mom doesn't care.
Good night everybody and have a great day!
