Well, you've read the notes, the notes wore black denim trousers and motorcycle boots, and now it is time for you to post until the black denim-wearing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HARBINGER!
-
First post after BK!

Yesterday, TCB wrote:
Continued recovery vibes to Ginny, Chas, Jeanne, Jrand, and George’s mother!
Thanks, Tom!
-
Also from yesterday:
I did watch the second act of the Barbra Streisand concert on Netflix. It was really wonderful.
I need to watch this! I actually keep forgetting that I still have Netflix. :-\
-
And yesterday's Topic of the Day (in alphabetical order...of course):
Instrumentalists:
Joe Baque (local jazz pianist extraordinaire!)
Dave Brubeck
Hot Club Sandwich
Pearl Django
Pink Martini
Postmodern Jukebox (not exclusively jazz, but close enough for me)
Terry Trotter
Vocalists:
Louis Armstrong
Ella Fitzgerald
Cleo Laine & John Dankworth
Maureen McGovern
Pentatonix (they just had a special on NBC last night!)
Diane Reeves
Diane Schuur (I got to meet her!)
The Swingle Singers
And of course The Manhattan Transfer, and all the members as individual vocalists, too: Tim Hauser (founder and bass singer, RIP), Janis Siegel, Laurel Massé (the original soprano), Cheryl Bentyne (the current soprano), Alan Paul, and Trist Curless (the new bass singer)
-
First post after George’s rant, or 5th post after BK.
-
T.O.D.
I think it was Richard Chamberlain’s DR KILDARE’S THEME (THREE STARS WILL SHNE TONIGHT).
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all

I don't know if you ever reconnected with Leland Palmer who now goes by her real name Linda Posner. Her daughter Pearl Marill (Dancer in San Francisco) posted a video of her on facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/pearl.marill/videos/10214223669324621/?fref=pb&hc_location=friends_tab&pnref=friends.all.
She is also on facebook as well. So if you want to reconnect you can.

Good morning, all!
-
DR George, I forgot your mother on my vibes list. I do apologize.
-
Thatch and Annabelle are now fine. His tail stands straight up when he sees her and that means he's happy. I terrify him more than ever now that I am forcing the eye salve into his eyes and cramming that ringworm medication down his throat.
-
The ringworm irony is that I'm not sure either he or Annabelle needs it. The test to verify the presence of ringworm costs $150 and at the moment, I cannot afford it. So, they must take the medicine.
-
My vet bills this month are already at $500, and this is really killing my finances. The things we do for love!
-
Today, I am meeting my friend Chris for lunch, and I really look forward to it.
-
Now that Thatch has eaten, I must tackle him and administer the dosages.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
I don’t remember all of the 45s I bought over the years, but the first was Elton John’s Crocodile Rock, and Bennie and the Jets was in there, too. I also remember having a few disco hits, including I Will Survive. And there was that Laverne & Shirley theme song.
As for albums, the biggies were Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors and Elton’s Greatest Hits, the Eagles Greatest Hits and The Doobie Brothers’ Greatest Hits. Plus, Springsteen’ Darkness on the Edge of Town and the soundtrack from Looking for Mr. Goodbar.
-
T.O.D.
"Rock Around the Clock"
-
Clark Gable and Carole Lombard: A conversation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqKGOZu5P1U
-
I think my first 45 was "The Purple People Eater."
-
And the babies have their morning dosage. I cannot wait until tonight's repeat!
-
We watched PAWN SACRIFICE last night; a film about Bobby Fisher.
It was quite good. Surprised it didn't get any Oscar nominations the year it came out (2014).
-
Good morning, all.

Thatch and Annabelle are now fine. His tail stands straight up when he sees her and that means he's happy. I terrify him more than ever now that I am forcing the eye salve into his eyes and cramming that ringworm medication down his throat.
1. Ah, sweet mystery of life, at last I've found thee...
2. Frau Blucher!
-
Well, Thatch retreated to his lair, and Annabelle hid under my bed after their doses. I offered them treats and they seem to be coming out of shock.
-
It turns out i am meeting my friend Chris for breakfast - not lunch! - at 9:30, so I will shortly head out. Then, if Joshie needs my help at City Center, I can head down there. If not, I'll return hime and work on How To Succeed.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
In a burst of inspiration, and to prove to myself I'm NOT SICK (praise the lord), I just ate two eggs (over medium) and five Brown 'n Serve links...with a second cup of coffee.
-
DR Elmore -- again, to hopefully avoid rush hour -- how would 11:00-11:30 work for me getting down there tomorrow? Providing you still want to do boxes then, let me know.

I believe I will have something similar at 9:30 today!

Now I'M hungry!

Doctor at 10:40 a.m.
Fun links from DR MICHAEL and DR DRUXY.
Good news about the mom of DR GEORGE.
DR ELMORE is becoming the Cat Whisperer.....

I remember the title song of the notes very well. I was five years and one month old when James Dean died in a car accident. They kept saying on the radio and television that James Dean was dead....the only Jimmy Dean I knew was the country singer....so I couldn't figure out how he could still be on TV when he was dead....
Every time the song came on the radio, I would lie on the floor in front of it and listen.....it was an obsession with me.....
I had a couple of teen age aunts and uncles during the 50's so I didn't buy my own records, I played theirs.....
I didn't start buying my own records until I got my OWN record player in August, 1962.....my first two purchases were:
Vacation by Connie Francis and Roses Are Red by Bobby Vinton!
-
Pick up rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.
I just listened to the titular song on YOU TUBE....it has a great percussion opening that I remember like it was YESTERDAY!

MEGA VIBES DR JRAND RECEIVES GOOD NEWS TODAY!
-
DR George, I am glad all went well for your mother yesterday. Quick healing vibes to her.
-
DR TCB, I hope you are feeling better today.
-
The ringworm irony is that I'm not sure either he or Annabelle needs it. The test to verify the presence of ringworm costs $150 and at the moment, I cannot afford it. So, they must take the medicine.
I don't recall a test to verify to ringworm, just a cream to put on it which I used on myself at the first sign of it.
-
In a burst of inspiration, and to prove to myself I'm NOT SICK (praise the lord), I just ate two eggs (over medium) and five Brown 'n Serve links...with a second cup of coffee.
;D It seems you are feeling better, at least until you go out into the world and whatever is bothering your allergies.
-
TOD: Not sure if these count for the exact description, but the first 45 I bought on my own was "One Bad Apple" sung by the Osmond Brothers, and the first LP was the movie soundtrack of SOUTH PACIFIC (which was 99 cents at the record store a block from the Midwood movie theater).
-
MEGA VIBES DR JRAND RECEIVES GOOD NEWS TODAY!
Add more vibes from here for that!
-
I also recall that I was aware of Jimmy Dean long before I'd ever seen James Dean.
-
Good morning.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! I think I'm going to rejoin the human race today. First up, the noon book group at the library where my career began. After I have some lunch here at home, Richard and I are going to the grocery - we need everything!
-
Ugh. Ringworm? Look for it on yourself, also, and use the stuff you put on athlete's foot. Is Thatch taking an oral medication for it or are you using the cream? Did either of them have it at the previous vet visit?
Be sure you tell them when you return the cage. It needs to be disinfected.
-
Ginny what book did you read? If possible keep your foot elevated at the library.
-
There was a small recurrence of ringworm on the kitten, once or twice, and then it never returned. I only got it the first time.
-
TOD:
I remember the first rock and roll album I bought was also the first thing I ever bought with my own money, and without asking my mom's permission. I think I was 14 years old. That album was "Sheer Heart Attack" by Queen. I remember the first time I heard the title track on the radio - it was the most unique sound I'd ever heard and I loved the song immediately.
Before that, the first pop album I ever bought was "The Partridge Family Album". I think I was about 9 years old. I had my mom's permission, but for some reason, she wasn't around at the moment. (This was back in the day when kids could wander around by the themselves without fears of kidnapping.) When the cashier clerk rang up the total, I was unprepared for how much tax there would be and I didn't have enough money. The clerk was annoyed, but dug into her pocket and gave me the extra .15 cents. I was very appreciative.
-
Ginny what book did you read? If possible keep your foot elevated at the library.
DR Jane, the selection was John McPhee's Encounter with the Archdruid, which I didn't get on interlibrary loan it time for today. I read his latest, Draft No. 4, instead. Today's discussion will help me decide to read the Archdruid book or not...

What a lovely story, especially about the (grudgingly) generous clerk!!!

MEGA VIBES DR JRAND RECEIVES GOOD NEWS TODAY!
Yes, indeed!
-
I am home from all errands and a wonderful visit with my friend Chris. I have Annabelle's Benadryl so we can see if her sneezing is allergy or respiratory infection. I think the conjunctivitis medication is working for Thatch. His eye that was closed with gunk yesterday is wide open today. Annabelle is currently licking Thatch's head, so I think the acclimation is consummated.

I saw that and though "grudgingly" because it probably was not the first time she provided the extra money to help out.

Thanks for the advice. They are taking a quarter of a tablet of Terbinafine twice a day. It must taste truly god-awful because they will not buy it in a pill pocket or if I mash it up and put it in their food.

We celebrated with a bottle of champagne....so I am feeling FINE right now.

It is too damned hot in this apartment. The cats are asleep. I'm nearly asleep, and I am not happy about this.

Why is it so hot? Can't you turn the heat down?

It's so hot because it's too warm outside. And no, I cannot.

Today’s conversation convinced me to go ahead and read it. Also, in the new book he talks quite a bit about the Archdruid book.

LOL! IU'm ready to turn on the AC.

DR Jeanne, I hope your mouth is hurting less today.
thanks, Jane. Aside from one spot in the back my mouth is doing just fine. I'm sticking to soft foods for another day, though. Too soon to challenge it.
-
Thanks to all who sent me dental vibes. Most appreciated.

Glad to see that DR Chas is NOT SICK. Hoping his episode was a temporary aberration.
-
DR Laura, I think that Ben Davis is performing with the Phoenix Symphony this weekend:

It’s warm here in SW Ohio, too. I walked into Kroger with my friend Lori, who said she’d worn flip-flops to put up Christmas decorations earlier.

DR George, which version of the varicose vein surgery did your mother have? There's vein stripping, laser, and sclerotherapy. I will need to have the surgery at some point. I've had sclerotherapy, but the problem has gotten worse--it's a degenerative condition.
Vibes to your mother for a speedy and comfortable recovery.
-
Continued vibes to Jrand, TCB, Ginny, Elmore, and Chas.
-
TOD:
My first three albums were the soundtrack to SOUTH PACIFIC, an album from Miriam Mekeba, and one other. I've never been a true fan of rock-n-roll, but I did like some soft rock.

Continued vibes to Jrand, TCB, Ginny, Elmore, and Chas.
Thank you, DR Jeanne, and the same to you!

Thanks everyone for the continued good thoughts....I must admit I teared up a bit when I got the news....and I am still processing the good news.....

Thanks, Jeanne! I don't know which version she had. I could ask her, if you'd like. It was performed at the Madigan Army Medical Center on JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord), so I don't know if she had a choice.
-
Well, I can tell you what Annabelle and Thatch hate more than having Terbinafine forced down their throats: children's dosage cherry flavored Benadryl! This was a struggle.
Thatch is on his cage hiding from me, sitting in his litter box and trying to wash out his mouth and throwing litter; Annabelle seems bewildered that her peaceful running of the apartment has become two weeks of awful drugs and battles to administer them. I feel so sorry for them.
-
I want my sassy little diva back!
-
I think Annabelle's forgiven me, but I hate it when she runs and hides from me. She usually hangs all over me like a puppy.
-
Good evening!
-
Such great news from Jrand!! Wonderful!
-
Tonight’s rehearsal was cancelled. Two cast members (of the six) are just now recovering from the viral infections, bronchitis, you name it, that have afflicted them for the better part of two weeks.
But today the director — who is also one of the six — woke up sick as a dog. And in other news, just for some comic relief, so did the stage manager.

Thanks, DR George. They’re making me look like the poster child of health, even as I blow my nose now and then and nurse a light cough.

It's so hot because it's too warm outside. And no, I cannot.
I remember my first trip in NY and I was shocked to find out I couldn't turn the heat on, and it was cold outside. It had been the same way at my hotel in Bethesda.
I looked up the NY weather and it doesn't look too hot out for me ;D

Very good and I think you are wise to wait another day before attempting hard food.

Well, I must be off. I'm going to my sister's to view a PFLAG treasury training webinar. It should only take about an hour, then I need to meet with my friend Margo. I printed a coupon for pet food for her because her wireless printer isn't being recognized by her computer. I'll go over to her house to give her the coupon and see if I can do anything about the printer. I don't have a wireless printer, so I'm not sure if I can help, but who knows...maybe I'll get lucky. ;)
Be back later.

It is pretty sad when 40 degrees seems hot. But I guess it is 50 degrees in New York City so that seems really hot.

Going to the eye doctor. I've had an itch ever since I tried the drops that she gave me. I hope it's just an allergic reaction and not conjunctivitis.

Annabelle and me would have something in common.

Very, very long day.

But I feel I got a lot accomplished at work today.

Also from yesterday:
I did watch the second act of the Barbra Streisand concert on Netflix. It was really wonderful.
I need to watch this! I actually keep forgetting that I still have Netflix. :-\
But do you have the tapes for the Netflix machine?

There are plenty of deer on the USAA campus, and a family of at least seven decided to play in the roads tonight as I was leaving. It was dusk and I was glad I noticed them. They certainly were beautiful, but they would not play nice with the car.

Then a few miles away, as I got close to the dance studio, there were two more deer playing in the road.

No venison for dinner tonight.

Well, the PFLAG training was interesting. They pretty much gave the same kind of information that I got from my union treasury training, but it only took an hour...there wasn't much detail.
-
When we first logged into the webinar, the display said that we'd get archives of the slides and the webinar itself, but when it was done, the people doing it said that only an audio of the session would be available! WTH?? I didn't take any notes. ::)
-
Anyway, I'm sure that it'll be fine. I'll just need login information and the forms to fill out and when certain things need to be filed...that sort of thing. I told the Olympia PFLAG board that I'd only do it temporarily, so they know that they'll have to find someone else. Hopefully, they do!

Not anymore. I only get the magic picture-radio waves through the Interwebs.

I'm watching a bit of Lady Be Good from 1941 that I recorded on TCM this morning, and when Ann Sothern tells Robert Young that she thinks that they should get divorced, he reluctantly agrees and she says, "That's white of you."
