Well, you've read the notes, the notes were accompanied by fixed flute and violin, and now it is time for you to post until the fixed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MUSETTE!
-
First post after BK!
-
BK, I wonder if the the lack of audio samples is hindering the sales of LEVI!, and that they'll pick up once you add them. Just a thought.
-
Yesterday, Jane asked, "DR George do you have a favorite animal I might find in Africa?"
Jane, no, I don't have a favorite animal, but my sister collects elephants. If you can find a really nice elephant keychain and wouldn't mind that it's for my sister (and I definitely will pay you for it, so if you can find something special, that would be great), I'm sure that she would love getting one that's actually from Africa. :)
-
Yesterday, John asked, "George, are you recording A Christmas Story this Sunday? If so, can I ask for a copy?"
Yes, and yes!
-
Today, I'm ushering for the other local production of "The Nutcracker" ballet. I have to find (and probably wash) my black pants first, though. I couldn't find them yesterday, so I wore some dark gray slacks, which is allowed when working concessions. For ushering, it has to be black pants (or whatever on the lower half) and white on top. I have a couple of clean white shirts, so I'm set there.
-
And now, I'm going to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Not sure about the audio samples - it's the Sherman Brothers so there should be some level of comfort there - but we'll have them up just as quickly as we can get them up.

I too love elephants. On the 20th we are going to an elephant park. Maybe I will get lucky there and find a good one. If not there should be other opportunities going forward.

We arrived in Richard's Bay to find our docking spot was given to a cargo ship :o
-
We are waiting to get into our new spot. Sure hope we can get off in 45 minutes for our five hour tour. We expected to be parking by now.
-
Oh good, we pulled up while I was typing.
-
Yesterday was very busy but did not get everything done that had to be done and today was already chickablock full and now will be even fuller
-
I know, I am simply making up words now
-
I have Swedish meatballs in the crockpot which must now go with me to church, and ihavto stop and but a gallon of milk and I have six quarts of apple juice in the van that have to go too and I have to reset the altar with the lines I have to bring as well and set up fir coffeehour and I am assisting minister at 9 and its neatly 8 so what I am I doing talking to you when I should be getting a move on already?
-
Have a great day everyone
-
Good morning. It's chilly in New York.
-
Good morning.
-
I was awakened at 4 a.m. by thunder -- something we haven't heard around here since August.
-
Good morning to all.
-
Off to see a regional production of Little Shop of Horrors. The actor playing Seymour is very good and I wanted him to do my play but he got this show and it payed a lot more than mine one performance.
-
Good news #1
A theater company in Illinois wants to read the play. I learned keep plugging away at it. As soon as the play is locked I will send it to them.
-
Good New #2
I found out last night from the producer that the subject of the first play Ruth: The Cemetery Angel will be attending our play in January. The actress playing the role is thrilled to get a chance to meet her.
-
Here is a promo for it.

I'm looking forward to renting DUNKIRK at Redbox on Christmas Day, after we finish out Chinese dinner.
It's one of the very few movies I care to see this year.
-
Great to read Michael's good news!
-
Good morning, all!

I did not get to bed until some time between 12:30 and 1:00. At 7:30 Annabelle let me know it was breakfast time, so I got up, put on my underclothes, fed the babies and the birds, and went back to bed. Around 9:30 Annabelle began jumping into bed with me. I don't think she was afraid I was dead or worried about my health, but she kept coming back, chatting a bit, then leaving. I suspect she was complaining that Thatch ate her food as well as hers.
So, at 10, I figured it was time to get up and ponder the day's events.
-
Thatch is getting friendlier to me, but it's still passive aggressive. Oe minute he lets me pet him, or hold him, and five minutes later he hides when he sees me coming.
This makes me happy, because I'd like to see us bond as well as Annabelle and I have. I've been torturing her with meds twice a day for a month now, and she's as affectionate as ever. I consider Thatch her property and friend, since he was adopted for her, and they now get along quite well. Still, I do love the little bugger.

Page 2 Dance!

I need some breakfast and a trek to the corner bodega. Once I make the bed and clean the litter, I have a full day with Me and My Girl.
-
I had some weird dreams last night. In one I was eating a bizarre crab-frog sandwich in a seafood place. I think DR Ginny might have been with me. She seems to be in a lot of my more bizarre dreams.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A full day of Me and My Girl sounds wonderful, Elmore.
-
Great news, Michael.
-
Joan Jett last night was fun. Her punk version of the Mary Tyler Moore theme song was the highlight for me.
-
Ushering today for the Holiday Pops concert.
-
But first, a nap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Just had as leisurely a morning as I could, and now it's time to get ready for a matinee.
-
The elevator crew has been here every other day now for a week: it runs for a brief shining moment and dies. It was dead last night when I went out at 7:30 and it's still dead, so I'm going nowhere at present. i cannot navigate stairs and several bags of groceries. Val tells me the new elevator installation will begin in January.

I also had a weird dream. I was so afraid the church alarm would go off because the candy was so sticky. (??)
-
My fitbit tells me that I slept 2 hours and 12 minutes total last night -- between 2:13 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
-
I had to fire Annabelle again. She insisted on being my sous chef this morning. So, I thought, this might be a good career move. Instead, she sat in the kitchen sink, played with an egg shell, ate a cockroach, and ignored all my instructions. I was really embarrassed for her.
-
Perhaps Annabelle could attend classes at a community college.
-
Good news about the LEVI fixes and the toilet!
-
Well those were two separate news stories.....but you know......
-
Feeling a bit better today....we shall see....

Sunday afternoon greetings!

Well, there was that time we met up at Luke’s Lobster and I had misplaced Richard...

I’ve been puttering all morning with Rebecca’s birthday present and a Christmas present for her and her husband. The former is under control and I’m about to bake gingerbread cookies to complete the latter. She and I are meeting for brunch tomorrow and I want to deliver both at that time.
-

I hate to think of her on the subway alone. She can't even find her way back to the apartment when she goes into the hall/

Congrats.

The hippos were very cute and since it was their sleep time they left us alone. The boat tour was great, lots of pods (family groups) of hippos, a baby and an adult croc, along with beautiful birds including African Sea Eagles. Keith is compiling photos to create a video for Facebook. I haven't a clue how to share it here.
-
Keith took a fun video of the hippos which is made interesting by the excitement of the passengers on the boat, the exuberant group from China. Interesting in that it sounds as if we are in the Chinese jungle 😄
-
Today was another example of Walt Disney getting it right.
-
Tomorrow we will be in Durban. We have been notified that the ship is not permitted to serve alcohol while in port. I looked it up and apparently South Africa has passed regulations to reduce the drinking problem.
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of needed sleep.
-
We have a working elevator for the moment, so I've been to the market, and the kitties are fed. I need to pay a couple of bills and post them tomorrow.

Jealous.

It’s warmer today than yesterday but it feels colder today.
-
Chance of snow on Christmas Eve.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I am not sure how I am feeling today.
-
Last night I felt really ill, so I went to sleep.
-
The Seattle Seahawks apparently forgot to show up for their game today.
-
The L.A. Rams are leading 34 to 0 at the half.
-
Great news for Michael!

Nicky isn't feeling very well today.

We are quite the pair.

Whew! Black pants have been found and washed. Now, I'm just watching some TV before I have to leave.

And now, I'm off to usher for "The Nutcracker."
Be back later.
-
I'm still on the TOD of movies based on fact. I'll go with these titles:
Dreamchild
Milk
Good Night and Good Luck
1776
Lincoln
Nijinsky
-
And now, I'm off to usher for "The Nutcracker."

The test of a good production is how they handle the growing Christmas tree.

Songs are all chosen, assigned, and gotten to singers, save for three things I'm still waiting on.
-
Hello!
-
Belated Happy Birthday to DR ChasSmith! Sorry I missed it!
-
Watching the live broadcast of "A Christmas Story" on Fox.
-
Page 4!
-
The Seahawk game did not improve in the second act, unless you were rooting for L.A.
-
Time to rustle up some dinner.
-
I have some audio samples now - they'll go up tomorrow, but they were hastily done and are not anywhere near what the final mixes will be - but it will at least give people an idea of what the songs are like.

Good morning.
Laura my brother was
LOL!

I am hoping for a little more than two or three hours of sleep tonight.

He was bit by an angry cockatoo, Vixmom?

He was bit by an angry cockatoo, Vixmom?
Yes but I meant to write brother in law
-
Right on the nose, Laura, he bears the scar, the cockatoo had to find alternate living arrangements
-
We too are watching the live broadcast of a Christmas a Story.. One of Vixdad's favorite movies
-
I would like to report that we are enjoying it
-
But I would be lying
-
As I was sitting at the computer tonight, Thatch actually walked past me several times brushing against my leg and letting me pat his body. Then, later when I passed him in the kitchen, he ran in terror.

While I have no urge to see the musical version of A Christmas Story, I remain a huge fan of the film, which captures much of my memories of midwestern winters and Christmas in the late 1940s.
-
A person on Cast Recording List just put down the film, along with the musical, because his superior literate East Coast adolescence was nothing like the events in the film.

Same. I had it on while DVRing it, and except for a couple of songs I thought reasonably clever or inspired, I was uninterested in the music.
But — a thousand times yes to the film as DR Elmore observes. Not only the midwestern memories and the feel that were so perfectly captured, but my beloved Cleveland and Higbee’s and other settings blow me away. We didn’t know how good we had it, and how soon it would all begin disappearing.

Not a problem, DR KevinH! Thanks!

My grandfather died when I had just turned three, and I remember leaving the visitation at the McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with my parents around 8:00pm on a cold December night. The Christmas lights and decorations on Broad Street sparkled in the crisp frozen air, reflected in the ice on the streets. Whenever I see the film of "A Christmas Story" the film's reality of that period of time seems frozen to that night on Broad Street as if I could step back into my childhood of nearly seventy years ago.

Back from a festively festive Christmas partay.

Didn't eat very much, so I must rustle up something here. Maybe some tuna without bread.

And now, I'm off to usher for "The Nutcracker."

I didn't go in to watch, so I don't know how either production handled it. ::)

I'm watching it now.

I'm not a fan of the new opening number sung during the opening credits. :P Completely different from the rest of everything.
-
John, the biggest idiot and bag of wind on Cast Recording List, just put down the film, along with the musical, because the Miss Crabapple's girls' finishing school he attended was nothing like the events in the film.
I had a bootleg of the original cast in New York. Didn't care for it at all. Not because it was or wasn't the movie. It was just a lousy show. But sometimes another medium can make some material seem better. From the catty Facebook comments, I doubt this is the case, still I'm looking forward to seeing it.
-
Went out to dinner with friends tonight. Nice and quiet. She had quadruple bypass surgery earlier this year. He has been rather housebound taking care of her. She's now almost totally in the clear, so it was nice to get her out and let him have a chance to talk. He used to be much higher up at the same company that I work for and it still means a great deal to him. So, I let him go on. And they both enjoyed the Italian place I picked out.
-
Back to watching Dickensian. I'm running both hot and cold on the series. I'm up to episode 12 of 20.

Good evening.

I bought the DVD set when it came out but it's on the watch pile.

I can't get to sleep. Damn!

I had no desire to watch the TV musical, because I can’t stand the movie. Sorry, but such is horse racing.
-
I can't get to sleep. Damn!
Read some of my posts, Lar. That will put you to sleep.
-
Keely Smith has died.
-
Tomorrow owning I have to drive south, regardless of how I feel.
-
I have a friend who needs to pay their auto insurance tomorrow, but won’t get paid until next week.
-
I can’t believe that Christmas is one week from tomorrow.
-
There is nothing other than a large check that would make me watch A Christmas Story the Live Musical - I know exactly what it will be and everything I've read thus far supports that. I'm sure everyone will LOVE it and rave and they'll either lie about the ratings or spin it in a way that will make them look like a hit.
-
Santa is going to be landing on the roof, and I am not going to be ready!
-
Good night, all.

Well, I don't love it...but I don't hate it, either. I like it. I do still love the original movie, though.
-
AARRGGHH!! As I was recording the broadcast, I was also recording it onto my DVD burner. But, I set something down on my DVR remote and it screwed up the display of the show. Fortunately, not the recording. So, I'll need to rerecord the program onto my DVD burner. I'll set it up do that when I go to sleep.

Hi, Jane.
